I think this is a cool place for a sports bar in a casino. We were immediately sat on a Friday, which is usually pretty rare. We shared the giant pretzel, nachos, and Smashburger. I usually skip the pretzel, but I'm happy we got it because it was soft and had the perfect amount of salt. The nachos and burger took a super long time to come out. I think they were waiting to bring them out together, but that just led to soggy nachos and a lukewarm burger. The chips that weren't soggy were pretty good and the added chili was good for flavor. Drinks were good! I can't remember the specific one that I got but it was Apple flavored and perfect for the fall. They serve 32 ounce beer mugs and it was hilarious next to my tiny wine glass. This review is specific to bowling. Great vibe to the place. Conveniently located with entrance in MGM Hotel but unfortunately no discount for being a guest of the hotel. It cost $50/hour including shoe rental. Staffing seemed sparse and it really took a while for someone to acknowledge the 2 of us, and no one at least greeted us and let us know they'd help us shortly. It was a Sunday in April and the place was about half full. There are only about 10 lanes. No one ever came over to take a drink or food order but that could've been because I exclaimed how expensive it was for one hour of bowling. According to the April Vacation Special it seemed like I should've gotten apps but all I got was bowling & shoe rental. However, we had fun. The automated scoring, pin setup, ball return were in working order. There's lots of bowling ball weights and finger hole sizes to choose from. Celebration night with some friends. Came here for dinner. When we arrived at the hostess desk we were told we had to wait about 20 minutes. Gave them our number for them to call us when our tables ready. We never did get a call so we walked back and told them we have been waiting for about 30 minutes. My husband had an old fashioned which he said was strong but good. He said finally a drink where you taste a bit of the alcohol and it not watered down. We ordered some apps. Got the boneless buffalo chicken wings and the buffalo chicken dip and some nachos. Sorry didn't get a picture of the nachos as it was on the far end of the table. For our main dish my husband and friend got the smashed burger. My friend and I got the salmon bites with mashed potatoes and blanched broccoli. I didn't try the burger but it looked good. My husband did say they left it on a minute too long. Because it wasn't as juicy. The salmon bites were really good. Omg! I forgot to mention the apps on how they were. The wings were good. You can't really mess those us. But the buffalo chicken dip was amazing. Wanted more after it was all gone. The nachos were good too. Happy they put enough jalapeños in it for some kick. Ok back to the salmon bites. I ended up eating all my broccoli before I dug into the salmon. It came with some kind of dipping sauce. I could honestly do without the sauce. The salmon was decent. The mashed potatoes were really good. Loved eating it together with the salmon. All in all we had a great dinner. We were saying to ourselves when we're up in this area we should've been coming here for food when we wanted a bite to eat instead of the food hall at the other end of the casino. Try them out. I don't know why I'd expect passable food at a casino in Springfield, but I do think people paying $17 for a burger or wings no matter what city they're in deserve something that is at least okay. I got both and split them with a friend. The boneless wings weren't awful, but they were thickly coated with some kind of batter and didn't have much meat. The "smash burger," on the other hand, was just awful. Most importantly, it wasn't a smash burger. It was clearly two frozen patties, obvious because of their uniform edges and distinct frozen patty flavor. As someone who lives in NYC, I'm used to paying $17 for a burger, but at least there it's usually decent. I wouldn't eat any savory food here again based on my experience, though the table next to me good ice cream sundaes that were enormous (I'm sure they cost a small fortune). I feel like it's kind of hard to mess up ice cream, so that would be my dinner if I were to be hungry in this corner of the casino again. read more

I've been to the tap in Baltimore and other places. This one is okay. My sister had the Reuben sandwich and she said it was delicious. A lot of meat bread. Everything was great. I had The and Bunnnie wings traditional wings. They were terrible. They were not crispy and the sauce made the wings very soggy. I won't order that again. We were at MgM for a few days and there are not many options but glad we found this one. Service was on point, food was ok, drinks were good. Espresso martini, was good for being batched. Usually not a fan, you can definitely tell the difference and they did offer to make one from scratch if I wanted. We had the bang bang broccoli which was out of this world! I had a burger, disappointed I asked for as rare as they can and I still got a hockey puck. We took a short weekend getaway for my husband's birthday, and while the hotel was wonderful, the real highlight was our visit to the Tap Sports Bar. From the moment we walked in, we were treated exceptionally well. The atmosphere was lively, and the setup was perfect for my husband, who's a former bowler. Our server JASSIDY deserves a special shoutout, she was hands down the best waitstaff ever! Attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, she made us feel so welcome. It's rare to find service where you truly feel looked after during a night out. We started with wings and fries while we bowled. They were a bit salty for my husband's taste, but absolutely perfect for me. Later that evening, we returned for another round, and I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp, which was delicious. The drinks were also fantastic; I had the best non-premade sangria I've ever tasted! Hats off to Tap Sports Bar for making our Halloween/Birthday weekend such a great experience. The food was excellent. It came out nice and fresh and hot and exactly when they said it would it came up exactly the way I wanted it. I had no problems with the food. The service was out of this world. She really did a great job. her name was Ebony I really would recommend asking for her. The next time you go in to have a bite of food there definitely ask for Ebony because she was spot on on her business and the way she did her serving. She constantly checked in on us to make sure that everything was fine and cooked exactly the way we like it And lucky for us. It wasn't too noisy and stuff in there we went in a really good time of the day so I would recommend being there again at noon time on a Friday. The nachos I will say that they did come out with a lot of cheese but I've had better .My son of course ordered his mozzarellas sticks which came out very cold and bland. They didn't have any gluten-free buns available which is very disappointing because you should have that if you're serving burgers and sandwiches. My friends and I came here tonight to grab some dinner, and when we arrived we were immediately asked for our ID's. We explained to them that we were under 21 and just came to grab some dinner, and could immediately see the mood shift. Our waitress came over once to ask what we wanted to order, and disappeared for 20 minuets. When she came back she threw our food on the table and walked away. She came back one more time to bring us another pitcher of water, slammed it on the table and turned without saying a word. We had to ask another table to borrow their condiments because we had none and she never came back to check on us. We had to flag her down and politely ask her for our check. We were going to ask for it to be split but she cut us off mid conversation and walked away. She came back and quite literally threw our bill on the table and walked away. This was a horrible experience and we felt as though we were not allowed to be there. I would not recommend and I will not be going back. read more

We Walked in and the hostess and server were talking. We waited for their personal conversation to be over and hostess finally looked at me and said nothing. I then asked for a table for 3. She grabbed menus and walked us over not saying a word. Waiter was so slow. Took 10 minutes or more before coming over to acknowledge us. Restaurant was not busy at all. We ordered a salad and two pretzels. Server never checked on us after food delivered and salad had no dressing on it. We had to flag him down to get dressing. We're staying here for 5 nights and we won't be back. We felt like we were an inconvenience and food wasn't good. Salad had no dressing at all as if they forgot and pretzels were dry and over cooked. It's a Shame because it looks like a cool place. The staff however was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. This was just yesterday and I see another complaint from someone who was there same day as us saying same thing about the staff. Management really should be paying more attention to these issues. This place could be so much better. The atmosphere is great, but they always seem to be short-staffed no matter when we go. Our Fourth of July visit was by far the worst and weirdest yet. We wanted to sit outside, but the hostess told us there wasn't a server out there yet. She said we could order at the bar and someone would bring us our food. Strange, but we went with it. We ordered from the bartender, paid in full (her rule), and even tipped 25% in advance hoping she'd check on us. She handed us our plates and silverware and sent us outside. When we got outside, every table was dirty so we wiped one down ourselves using wipes they had out there. The ribeye special sounded great, but was a $44 disappointment: very fatty, thin, and overcooked (asked for medium rare, got medium well). We also ordered bone-in wings but received boneless instead. We politely asked the food runner to fix it, and about 30 minutes later the bartender came outside and literally tossed the corrected wings on the table without a word. No apology, no acknowledgment, she just left with a scowl on her face. We tried not to take it personally! We're very easygoing customers and almost never complain or send food back, but this experience was honestly rough. The staff didn't seem happy, well-trained, or supported. While we still like the vibe of the place, the food and service need serious attention. Sadly, we don't plan on returning anytime soon. read more

First time here. We stayed at the MGM and wanted a nightcap and a place to decompress after flying in from So Cal. It was about a 2 hour plus drive from Logan Airport in Boston and this was a nice break from our drive to Cooperstown. Taps had bar seats ready and waiting for us to plop into it. I can no longer recommend Tap. If you're in MGM Springfield and hungry, go for it. If you want a drink, go for it. If you want to hang out with friends, go for it. But as a standalone restaurant where we're rating food and service, this isn't it anymore. The food portions have gotten smaller. The burgers are now 1/3 smaller, at least. The clam chowder is overpriced for what you get. The service is very disjointed. The staff seems like they're going through the motions. Also, the hosts (front of house staff) are terrible. You can get there and have there be countless open tables and they stand there, stunned, looking around as if they're trying to find something that's open. This has happened numerous times. The entire food court at MGM Springfield is awful. Tap, although not in the food court, used to be a welcome reprieve from that garbage. Now, Tap has become just a few steps above that food court. We used to enjoy coming here for the food. Not anymore. read more

Had very disappointing experience. We came to the Tap Room Sunday 1/4/26. We were excited to return as we had come a few weeks before and had a great experience. We were seated and did not get approached by a server to take our drink order for at least 15 minutes. Once the server Torn came over, we gave our drink order and inquired about the Sunday Specials menu that we had previously order off on other visits. He had no idea of what this was or any motivation to look into this for us. He said I think that ends at 6pm. We were seated at 545pm he just didn't come over until after 6pm. We waited another 15-20 minutes and never received our drinks (three waters and a soda), so we got up and left. The hostesses were too busy on their phones at the front to notice we left. There was plenty of wait staff around the restaurant as it was not very busy but our server had no motivation to work or do anything. Based on this experience I would not return. read more

I like TAP, and I have been here multiple times. If you have not checked it out yet, I surely recommend that you do so. Primarily, I go to TAP for beer... beer and ambiance. The service is really good and the beer list... oh man... it's one of the best in the whole area! It's to the point that if I want some of my go-to brews (not to mention the local stuff) this is one of the places I trust to have what I want and need. I also can go there and every now and then find something new to drink and enjoy. I'm not a huge fan of TAP's food, but the menu is pretty solid. It's a sports bar (duh) so bar food is to be expected. I do like the portions and I never felt oppressed by the prices (especially since I remembered that THIS IS IN A CASINO). If I had to pick some favorite food items, they'd probably be the calamari and the buffalo chicken dip. Mmmmmm. Mediocre food. We stopped in for lunch this afternoon, after spending a few hours in the MGM Casino. My wife ordered a pulled pork chicken sandwich and I went with a Swiss mushroom burger. We had a Fried pickle chips appetizer to start. Everything was OK, but nothing really stood out. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium, but I felt it was more on the well-done side. Also, the cheese was barely melted on the burger. Unlike a lot of other Yelp reviews I have been reading for TAP, we felt the service was excellent, the staff was very friendly & attentive. It is what you would expect. It's average bar food. The food was good. No complaints. The service was friendly and attentive. The place was surprisingly not loud. We went here for the igloo night. We made a reservation about a month ago for this igloo tent since there was only a couple of tents available. The igloo tent was a cool concept. They had rocking chairs, blanket, a speaker and a portable heater. It was good that we had a private rent for just our friends. It was quiet and private and we were able to hear each other talk. The tables at the restaurants were very loud and it was crowded so I'm glad we got the igloo. Our igloo had a hole in it so since it was raining, the carpet inside was wet. Even with the small portable heater, the tent was cold. The food and drinks was where this place lost stars. The food and drinks were way over priced and the food wasn't that good. The cheese on the grilled cheese was not melted all the way. The bread was soggy and wasn't grilled all the way. The soup tasted like it was from a can. The dessert was mediocre at best. The cookie ice cream sandwich was very hard to eat. Ice cream was melted and soupy but the cookie was hard as rocks. The drinks were not strong either and very overly priced. Overall, it was a cool experience but I wouldn't come back. read more

The ratings for TAP certainly run the gamut, and even I had experienced enough downside issues on our first visit that I chose to say we had experienced better elsewhere. Well, for some reason I never wrote an update for our visit just over eight months ago. And while I won't be able to tell you everything about that visit, there is enough in my memory and photos to give some useful information. Our visit in October, 2018 was on a Thursday, so we did not experience a crowd like we did on our most recent visit on a Saturday. So the best tip I can give you is to avoid weekends and holidays. We sat at the bar on both of these last two visits. That enabled me to recharge my phone by using the outlets hidden underneath the bar. But we were lucky to even get seats at the bar on this last trip because the restaurant was so crowded. There was an hour wait for a table. We saw one empty seat at the bar and my wife offered it to me (with my bad back). Halfway through our meal the gentleman to my wife's left had finished his meal and offered her his seat. There is a really nice selection of draft beers on their thirty taps. We started off this visit with pints of Black and Blue (Guinness over Blue Moon) ($8) for my wife and a Back East Porter ($8) for me. I thought the porter needed more flavor, but it was still good. Having not recalled that I had tried the Pulled Pork sandwich ($16) on our previous visit, I ordered it with sweet potato fries. I had forgotten how good their rolls are. With black and white sesame seeds on top, they are really fresh and hold up well with the delicious and moist pork, whole grain mustard, and a little bit of arugula. This was an excellent sandwich. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked also - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - with good flavor. My photos from last October remind me that my wife had a Reuben ($14) on that visit and was actually considering ordering one this visit until our bartender/server suggested the Hot Lobster Roll ($23) since my wife could not make up her mind between the two. Even though my wife and I had shared a cold lobster roll earlier at Jack's Lobster Shack in the South End Market part of the casino, my wife decided to go with the bartender/server's suggestion. The lobster was as sweet as the one we had shared earlier, but it was a little drier, maybe because of being heated up. The roll was also not as tasty as the one we shared earlier. In spite of the crowd, I'm going to raise my rating. The beer selection is great, the servers have been very good, our food was delivered quickly, and the food is tasty. After three visits, I'm a fan. read more

Although it was easy to get a spot at the bar and the service was very good, the food was another story nine dollars for 2/3 of a cup of chili doesn't sit well with me. At that price, give a bowl and fill it all the way. I also got a salad with grilled chicken price was $17 and most of the sour head that brown / red tint to it. Hardly any chicken maybe five bites. Just disappointing I would've got a full entrée. At that point if I knew the food was going to be less than stellar I'll give them another shot at redemption soon, but I was not happy with what I got to eat. read more
