Went back to Burnhill Café for breakfast and it was lovely! I just so love that I have these wonderful little family own businesses right in my town. I feel so blessed and I'm so glad that they are prosperous. I hope this neighborhood gem is around for many many years to come. If I had to leave one criticism, it would be that I wish they had a actual tea service. I love the fact you can order home fries or hash browns. Hash browns are an up charge but I'm okay with that because most places don't even offer them. Delicious lunch today with my daughter at 10:30 am on a Monday. Have not been here lately and glad we returned. Love how you can have breakfast all day and lunch during typical breakfast hours. The easy to read menu has one side with a great variety of breakfast fare. The backside had typical and creative lunch and dinner items. Could sit anywhere, but we selected a booth. Coffee was served immediately upon sitting. It was excellent and refilled promptly. Ordered the Open Face Turkey Sandwich that came with soup or salad, potatoes, and vegetable. The Pastine Chicken Soup was much more flavorful than at other diners (Blue Ribbon for one). The broth was developed and seasoned nicely. It was so good, I wish it was a bowl instead of a cup. The turkey and gravy were not salty. I had crispy, crusty home fries for the potato choice. The peas I selected as a veg. were overcooked and tasteless. But there was plenty to enjoy without them. My daughter liked the Chicken Gyro and crunchy French fries. The portions were generous, and she took half home. Service was prompt and efficient by experienced waitresses who were attentive. Thanks to yelp we found this little gem. It was hopping, but a waitress said to just wait a sec and she would clean a table that was just vacated. Fantastic middle of nowhere all-day breakfast Diner. The way it always was and should be! The staff are the greatest. The food took like 3 mins. to get to my table. Coffee refills delicious and really fragrant. Texas burger's really, really good and so were the sides. Burnt Hills Cafe has the total 'old school flair' going for it. So here's the story ... it's winter break ... me and the kids and their friends went ice skating ... mom met us at the end and we decided to take everyone to lunch. And my oldest picked this joint. Full disclosure I've been here before but I let him think it was a new place. He was excited and I didn't lie I just didn't call attention to it. Service was really good. Quick attentive and courteous with that old school diner vibe. You know a bit pushy kind of in a rush calls everybody sweety or hun or darling. Total NY vibes. The food was good. Huge menu. Tons of specials. Really good soup I had manhattan clam chowder. Portions were big. They gave everyone fries and we didn't order them so that's what's up. Only negative was my boy who picked is a vegetarian and other than breakfast there wasn't much for him. He was bummed but he made it through. Price was good too there was 7 of us and we all ate and drank and tipped over 20% and we got outta there at $115 all in. Plus it was super quick. It was a last resort for breakfast... so disappointing, this could definitely use some remodeling... The menu is you standard typical American diner items eggs toast home fries waffles and pancakes. We had veggie omelette, Greek omelette.. honestly both were the same...Waffles and pancakes .. everything was so below average. Given a choice to skip breakfast or eat here... I'd skip. I ordered souvlaki salad with dressing on the side. The chicken was thin but to my surprise it's not dry at all. It's very well seasoned but not salty. I could see herbs on top of it. I didn't use the dressing at all because it's thick and creamy. Food came out fast read more

Terrible service, cold food and more... This is the second time I've gone to this restaurant in a year, the first time the service wasn't so great and they didn't have items on the menu, but some of the food was OK. I went again today. I found that the wait staff were generally unfriendly. I didn't want to send my cold food back to be reheated because if you worked in a kitchen before you generally know not to send things back unless they're really bad. The lady forgot to give me both my soda and soup my after patiently waiting. So when a different waitress came by, I told her I didn't get either but please don't give me the soda at this point because we were done with the meal. Come to find out it looked like there was an extra item on my friend's bill. We wondered if it was the missing soda? I politely talked to the lady at the cash register and I had explained how I didn't get my soda (and had to remind them to get my soup) plus the food was very cold . She didn't even blink an eye as if that was typical and didn't say sorry. When my friend asked about the soda, which we never received- a different waitress, who didn't even come to our table at all, said that she knew that she personally gave us the soda. Not true at all! WTH. Finally, the original waitress who served us , piped in and said she didn't remember giving us a soda. I don't know why they wouldn't just believe us.? It's a very small amount on the bill, but the fact that they couldn't get multiple things right with my meal and charged us extra, plus was rude about it, that was just too much. Walked into the cafe at 2:15 pm. Maybe there was 10 people in different booths eating. We picked our booth, sat down and waited. We waited for 15 minutes as a waitress cleaned tables, walked around and talked to other customers. For 15 minutes we just sat there waiting to be noticed. We finally got up and walked out. The place is amazing, the service is great. I go there 4 to 5 times a week. The longest I have ever gotten my food is in 15 minutes. It looks beautiful in there I they have beautiful chandlers. I have been going there for like 3-4 years and I have made friends with all the waiters they're amazing. read more

Something fishy about the fresh fruit cup that I had on May 20, 2019. Since when is cantaloupe suppose to taste like fish? The slightly translucent honey dew chunks probably should have been a tip off. I ate a piece. It was flavorless, but after I took a bite of cantaloupe, I had to spit it out because all of the cantaloupe chunks in the fruit salad were fishy. Was it bad food storage? Or did the food go bad? I'm pretty sure the food was spoiled. My coffee tasted okay. I could have used another cup of it to take away the fishy aftertaste, but the waitress never came back. My husband ordered a decaf coffee, but he's pretty sure the waitress gave him regular coffee, because he felt jittery after the meal. In short, I'm never going back. The cafe was recommended by a local resident. We were hoping it was a local gem. Based on the worn decor and the old, torn plastic covered menus, the diner has been in business for a long time. Amazing!! On a whim to try a new place and this will now be our number one spot. Very busy small cafe with a small town feel. The service was so quick, even with a full house. And the food came out so fast it was like we pre-ordered. The plates were huge. The pancakes larger than your head, golden brown and delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly, lots of meat and even the toast was great. The prices are perfect (a little under what they should be for the service and size!) Even plain coffee was great. This is a nice place. They're fast. The food is good. The service is friendly. Is it above average? Slightly. I will probably go back one day, but I'm not counting the days with anticipation before I do. This is the kind of place where I recognize it as a good diner, but in order for me to go over and over again it would have to be eighth next door to me. It's a good diner, but not good enough to draw me from a few towns away. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. Check it out if you live nearby. One more thing! Burnt Hills Café is a great local establishment. Family of 4 had large breakfast for $30 (with tip). Service is super lightning fast and friendly. Review by my Kid Did you know Burnt Hill's Café is one of the most Loves restaurants, or as you could say "café" in burnt Hills. I like the Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes... and by the way I'm nine years old. All I eat is pancakes so I'm an expert i'm pretty picky so it's pretty easy for me to choose what to eat on this menu. My son and I both ordered mac salad instead of a fries with our sandwiches and both got fries. Onion soup was bland and my chicken gyro was meh. Discovered this place by accident a couple of months ago when a friend opened a store in the same block. Now I'm back every week, which is an effort for a guy like me, who rides the bus. I usually get the same breakfast, but will endeavor to try the bison burger soon. They feed you in this place! Large portions, well prepared, and fast! My meal was in front of me mere minutes after I ordered. I love sitting at the counter, with the view into the kitchen, and almost always have a small conversation with strangers sitting next to me.
