I ordered the fish taco. Fish was way overdone. The worse part was I found a hair in it. Obviously I told the waitress and she removed it. I asked for a menu to get something else and ordered what one of the other gals had ordered (that I was paying for, she did say she would take the fish taco off). When it arrived, it was half the size of hers. In the meantime our waitress left and we had a new one. Been a customer for decades. The price charged is higher than what's listed on their website. I asked when ordering if they charge a fee for a credit card purchase. The employee said yes. when I asked what it was I was told she didn't know. I ordered a sub. When I picked it up I wasn't asked how I was paying and I was given a total that was more than was listed on their website accounting for tax. I believe they charge a credit card surcharge to everyone no matter what. This is a simple way to increase their prices without increasing their prices. Bottom line is the price charged is higher than the price advertised and the employees can't or won't explain. Owner is a grouch so don't bother complaining or think he would even care. Just be aware that you will charged more than the advertised price. How much more? It's anyone's guess. read more

I ordered the prime rib dinner Tuesday night for takeout that showed up on their Facebook page. When i got home it was a piece of prime rib on a sub roll, that was it. Post said baked potato and green beans. When I called to inquire about the sandwich with no sides I was told that the wrong special was posted on Facebook, and their special of the night was a prime rib sandwich for $17.99. When I informed them I was charged the $32.99 for the prime rib and would like the difference, I was switched to three different people, kept on hold for over 18 minutes and then HUNG UP ON, with no call back. I drove to the restaurant, was given some money from the register and when asked about why they hung up on me and was not called back, my question was IGNORED!! NO APOLOGY, NO CONCERN OR EVEN CARING ABOUT THEIR MISTAKE. The guy behind the counter threw me some cash and leaned around me and started to wait on the customer behind me. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE MARCELLAS. Blame the customer for YOUR mistake, hang up on customer and then when she drives back to your establishment to get a refund, she is treated like she is disturbing your employees. You need to do better! And ironically the prime rib dinner is still on their Facebook page a day later. My husband and I have been loyal customers for years but this is unacceptable and will take our money elsewhere. read more

Stopped and had dinner at Marcella's on Glenville. We ate on the patio since it was a nice, warm day. My wife had the steak sandwich and I had the meat loaf dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The waitresses there are experienced, friendly and very helpful. You feel welcome immediately. I wanted to try a new local restaurant. We decided to give this place a try. Well we were seated immediately and placed an order about 5 minutes later. We sat and watched other patrons receive their food before us. After we watched to separate parties arrive awhile after us get there food. We asked for our check for our drinks and left. Marcellas has one of my favorite turkey sandwiches in the area! It's tons of turkey on 2 large slices of bread and they don't skimp on condiments or toppings. My husband got the a chicken sandwich which he very much enjoyed as well. This is definitely one of our new favorite lunch spots! They also have delicious chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls aI highly recommend it Update: I'm very disappointed because we had to stop ordering from here. This is super upsetting because the restaurant is 1 minute away. Each time we order my husband gets the chicken sandwich and each time we clearly ask for no onions. Each time we get the sandwich home, there's onions. These are not easy to pick off since they are within the cheese and bacon and leave an obvious onion taste. My family has been going to Marcella's for over 25 years and they have been a consistently favorite spot with delicious food and great service. I will not base a review on one visit so this review comes from take out orders within the past six months. The quality of food has declined as has the amount, mind you we tend to order the same few foods each time so are familiar. The meatball subs have about half the meatballs and have been a little dry with less sauce, smaller portion sizes with pasta dishes and twice recently I ordered a large tossed salad to bring to family dinners and was embarrassed by the quality- not only was the portion about half what it used to be but the greens were all iceberg lettuce with a small amount of romaine and what was there was old and starting to brown, I had to run to the supermarket last minute and grab a container of red & green leaf lettuce to throw in and make it look somewhat presentable. The salad also literally had 3 halved cherry tomato's and the cucumber was also looking sad, these salads used to have a variety of fresh greens and veggies, not now. -Please Marcella's you can do better, you have a very disappointed long term customer... read more

Really disappointing on how this restaurant is choosing to conduct business and will very likely never be back. Between the weekly price hikes of their menu, the 4% charge for credit cards, and now the most recent problem being that they claim on Facebook people weren't charged for meals if you used a credit card in their restaurant 50% of the time and now are attempting to charge credit cards all at once for meals from a five month period which could potentially overdraw someone's account. How does a business print receipts for people to sign and also not notice that there revenue is down 50% and let this go on for MONTHS ( they claim this affects credit card sales from Sept-Dec 2022) ? The most troubling aspect of this was when i and another customer commented on our concerns and being potentially overdrawn all Facebook comments were removed unless they are complimentary to the business. Thankfully I've gone through my account and it appears that my charges went through originally so I shouldn't have any surprise charges. Because of this issue and for fear it could potentially happen again I've chosen to not patronize this restaurant any longer and urge others to only use cash here if you decide to order from them. read more

We've been going to Marcella's since we moved to the area some 20 years+ ago. The food is very consistent in our experience - yes, the owner is rude, she's a terrible waitress, but we no longer sit there, just carry out. In our experience, the value is good. One of our fallback meals when the family gathers is to grab a family meal - tonight, youngest son, middle son and GF came over for dinner. My wife ordered the chicken marsala meal which comes with spaghetti (we chose marsala sauce), a large salad and two loaves of garlic bread. That meal has never disappointed and we've probably had it a dozen times over the years. The five of us put a hurting on the huge portions, it was $41 out the door, and yet my wife and I still have leftovers for tomorrow. You can't get fast food for $9 a person, much less a delicious homemade meal with fresh salad and garlic bread. And leftovers. And really good leftovers, not dried-up, day-old pizza. We'll be back like we always do. And that Turkey Delight Wrap is one of our favorite wraps of all time. read more

Daily specials are offered too including 2 Cheese Pizza Slices & a can of soda ($2.99), Half Cold Sub & Cup of Soup ($4.49) and more. This place is unique because they have outdoor patio deck seating where you can hang out on a nice day and enjoy your food with a cold beer, a small indoor dining room and a takeout area with an Italian deli counter (deli meats, groceries & cooler drinks) and an ice cream counter serving many flavors of Perry's Ice Cream. There are a lot of pictures of local youth sports up on the walls, very good! In the takeout area, there's a large poster of the Burnt Hills/Scotia Glenville Hockey team. Several other high schools in Section II also have joint hockey programs. For takeaway, I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap ($7.99) served with fries & pickle and the Angel Hair with House Sauce ($7.49 -free with Entertainment coupon) which comes with salad, bread & butter. While I was waiting, a large loud "after school" crowd from BH-BLHS came in and lined up for ice cream, the perfect time on a hot day. I wish I had a place like this to go near my former HS. Anywho, the food was ready in about 10 minutes. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was pretty good and the fries were nice and crispy. The Angel Hair was good, but could've used some more sauce. Very dissapointed in Marcellas right now. We order multiple times a month but that may be over. 2 days ago I ordered a half tray of antipasto for a birthday party. The online price said $45.99 and when I ordered it, I confirmed that that was the price with the lady on the phone. When I got there a man said it was $60, I let him know thats not what it says or what it was told. He took my card and charged me $60 anyways. Not happy about it and its the 2nd time things were priced higher than the online menu, last time I didn't confirm before ordering so I started always confirming the price before ordering. read more

We came here for breakfast and were surprised to see we were the only ones there (we came shortly after 8am). I ordered the ham and cheese omelette, my fiancé ordered the sausage and cheese omelette, and we ordered our son bacon and eggs. The omelette came with home fries and toast and both were impressive. The toast was thicker and done perfectly. The home fries were almost like fried potatoes and very tasty and my fiancé especially enjoyed them. I am knocking a star because the omelettes were very greasy and it was a bit of a turnoff. They were good but would have been excellent if it wasn't for the grease. Everyone seems to have a restaurant that's a staple in their life and that's Marcella's to me and my family. The service is amazing and the staff is always incredibly friendly. No matter what you order it will always be delicious. My personal favorites are the pizza, eggplant Parm, and the turkey club with fries (if you like horseradish ask for a side of the horseradish mayo for your fries it's MIND BLOWING).
