Corn chowder - A basket containing sliced white bread and snack packets is placed on a table at a restaurant. Two bowls of clam chowder are also on the table, one in the foreground and one in the background. A person's hand is visible, holding a small item, and part of a green shirt can be seen. The table has printed advertisements and menus, indicating a casual dining setting.

Any time I go to the cafe, I'm hoping for the best but honestly it's pretty mediocre every time. The food is ok...the service is ok but I will say the pricing is cheap and you do get a lot of food. I just wish that it was better tasting.

Chicken Noodle Soup - A bowl of chicken noodle soup contains large pieces of chicken, carrots, and vegetables in a clear broth. The soup is served in a white bowl placed on a table with a menu underneath. A spoon is partially visible on the right side of the bowl. The background includes advertisements and business information.

We there for the first time today for lunch with a good friend of mine. We arrived around 11:45 and were seated immediately, waitress provided our drinks as ordered and I stared at the daily special menu which I included. The first thing I noticed was the prices were very reasonable. I finally decided on the Sweet and Sour Chicken which came with soup and desert and my friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi over Rice. A soup was included so I ordered the Chicken Noodle soup and was pleasantly surprised. It was evident that the soup was home made and very tasty. The Sweet and Sour Chicken over Rice was home made also, very good. Desert was Jello with whipped cream. Service was excellent, even though the waitstaff appeared to be extremely busy. Over all its well worth the trip! On a follow up visit a few days later with my granddaughter, we had Chicken Michael and the Seafood Stuffed Haddock. Both were delicious & for desert Rice Pudding. The pudding was homemade.

A white plate holds a wrapped sandwich or wrap, French fries, and a pickle slice. The table has a fork, a knife, a bowl, and some condiments, with a person in the background eating. The setting appears to be a casual dining restaurant.

Friday, Feb. 9 2024, we enjoyed a fish fry platter and a ranch, crispy chicken wrap platter. Always superb service, delicious , fresh food! Also IF you forget your take out food, on your table, not to worry because your waitress will chase after you , outside to hand it to you ! Thank you Eunice !! Dick and Bonnie Hebert 02/8/2024

Breakfast at the Bellevue cafe

Let's be clear about this, the Bellevue Cafe is absolutely nothing more than it claims to be, a simple place to stop for breakfast and enjoy the offerings of the day. Everything about this place was 'basic greasy spoon', and if you couldn't tell walking in the door it was exceedingly clear from the menu. Speaking of the menu, I can only advise that you order exactly what's on it and not try to get fancy at all. I thought I'd spice up their (excellent) home-fries by asking for some bacon and cheese to be added on top of it. What did I receive? Two to three *slices* of bacon laid on top of a pile of home-fries with a square of cheese melted over it. Was it delicious? You bet it was. Was it ridiculous that they couldn't even attempt to crumble the bacon and sprinkle on some shredded cheese? You bet it was. Ultimately though it gave us all a huge laugh, and we sincerely enjoyed our meals. Just... Keep it simple, ok? They really can't do complicated.

We ate here a few times for lunch. A cozy diner, friendly service and a unpretentious menu. Today we ordered homemade lentil soup and chicken salad atop a basic small side salad. The soup came out hot and very tasty. The bread basket with crackers and plastic wrapped slices of white bread. My chicken salad was very bland and unseasoned and I didn't bother to finish it We had breakfast here before and it was good. I had decaf coffee and it was more expensive than regular coffee , 5 cents more, which I never saw on a menu before didn't check the bill so I don't know if that was a typo. Otherwise menu prices reasonable, food plated nicely and food came out hot. Daily specials too. It's a basic diner, perhaps a nice place to stop when in the area but we prefer other diners to this one.

Salad - A close-up image of a salad with fresh leafy greens, creamy dressing, and small black pepper flakes. The salad appears to include lettuce and possibly other vegetables, with a focus on the textures and colors of the ingredients. The background shows more salad components, indicating a fresh, prepared dish likely served at a dining establishment.

As always, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. I got the Chefs Macaroni and Cheese. It was as good a my mother's homemade macaroni and cheese. For dessert I had the tapioca pudding. The presentation in the sundae dish with the whipped cream made it more appealing. It was delicious! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you check them out.

You go to plan "B." The Blue Ribbon Restaurant and Bakery is a "sister" to the bakery next door and is open on Sunday for five hours after the bakery shop closes. We might as well have dinner too while we are at the restaurant. Starting with cups of better than average diner coffee ($2.99/bottomless cup) my wife chose a Reuben with coleslaw and pickle wedge ($14.99) and added fries ($3) while I decided to have the Shredded Short Rib Sandwich ($14.49) which included fries, coleslaw, and a pickle wedge. We both agreed the fries were best while they were nice and hot but otherwise typically average once they cooled. Our respective sandwiches, however, were outstanding. The Reuben was the traditional corned beef on grilled rye with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese. It was large enough that half came home for the next meal. My Short Rib sandwich was too full of meat in a fresh and soft bun for me to chance picking it up to eat by hand, so I resorted to using a fork and knife. Regardless, it was really tasty. Now we were ready for the main event. My wife got her slice of Carrot Cake ($7.49) while I selected the Italian Rum Cake ($7.25). We both left totally satisfied and smiling, but on overload. This diner is very clean and staff are efficient.

First off, the name 'Chuck Wagon' is a nod to the Old West; where cowmen and cowboys used to pull along a wood wagon, which had many covers and a hatch in the back, where the cook would cut stuff, prepare meals & drink and prepare meat. This is a genuine name - do not ever get rid of this diner! Anything you could possibly want or look for in diner atmosphere: is right here. The atmosphere is professional and bright. The elder gentleman, quickly stopped at my table to say "hello". We spoke a few minutes about where we were both from and sports. I made a promise, to return - which I so far did not have time to. Now I will. And this is my review! My breakfast was epically badass! Truly. Totally and utterly and perfectly prepared. No burns. I ordered a poached egg, and that chef in the kitchen did it better than I would have. Better than me. So cool! Not only that, but my entire dish was flavorful beyond belief (see delicious pics). The eggs were 'country' eggs - they tasted soo much better. The sausage was also very unique and tasty - it was nicely roasted and had a nice sear. The casing was a throwback to when real butchers made real meats! Not the tofu, cardboard-meat that J-Lo, little starving millennials and Taylor try to put in our manly bodies. Real flavor! Real meat! Strong coffee! The service too, was so genuine, so happy and polite it was a breath of fresh air when compared to many places where waitresses have just blank stares and that 'deer in the headlight' ('got to pay my kids' bills because I married a dummy')-type brainlessness. It doesn't matter how you look, where you're from; if you are a biker in leather or a guy in a tie: you will get positive country vibes only and warm friendliness. Chris' Chuck Wagon Diner is awesome! I am thinking about going back tomorrow. The food is craftily made, eclectic in variation and tasty. Please order what is on the menu!! Epic place. Doing it right! Farmhands, workers and cowboys everywhere, love this place! Review: 5++

I have been to Redwood Diner numerous times and I always enjoy it. The service is consistently fantastic, and that really stands out. The owners (Pete and Gloria) are very friendly, as are the waitresses, and you can tell they truly care about the people who come in. On several occasions, both owners and waitresses have stopped by the table to make sure everything was good and to chat for a bit. The conversations are always enjoyable and never feel forced. The waitresses know my order by heart which is impressive. You can tell the waitresses really care. They stop by numerous times to make sure you're all set and always offer to warm up and top off your coffee. The food is always good and the portions are generous, so you definitely leave satisfied. There is a really nice ambiance here. It feels comfortable and welcoming, not rushed or impersonal. They also decorate the windows for holidays, and there is a Christmas tree in the front breezeway that they decorate for different holidays throughout the year, which adds a fun and festive touch. Many times I have ended up chatting with other patrons seated near my table, which says a lot about the atmosphere. There are clearly several regulars, and when a place has a loyal customer base like that, they are doing something right. One of the things I appreciate most is that you can go with others, enjoy your food, and have a nice conversation without feeling pressure to leave quickly. That is getting harder to find these days. This place easily earns 5 stars from me.

As far as diners are concerned, Redwood Diner totally fits the mold. There's a nostalgic vibe to these places that is almost comforting in itself. The food, yup, got you covered there, too. There's the "meat and three" combo, if you count the salad as one of the vegetables. This comes with bread and soup, veg & starch as well as the previously mentioned salad. There's even a liver and onions option on the menu. I've never been a fan so I passed on that one. One of the other staples offered here that I can recommend are the hot dogs. Get them loaded with meat sauce, onions, and mustard. Although the prices have changed, the charm remains.
