Nice hometown diner! Everything made to order. You even have the choice whether or not you want onions in your home fries. You get so much food you can't possibly eat at all. My eggs were cooked perfectly over medium, with corned beef hash, home fries, and rye toast. They cook everything right there out in the open! Grilling like a pro! Breakfast. Patronized this business about a dozen times so far. Good portion sizes. Good service. Potatoes aka hash browns are woefully undercooked and void of any flavor. Parking lot is old, crumbling and somewhat hazardous for our older folks. read more

Very small diner that was super busy, with what seemed like mostly regulars. The portions were large and food tasted good. My only complaint is that my omelet was very oily. Potatoes were good, but next time I'd ask for my food prepared with less oil and for my potatoes to be crispier. read more

First time and NOT our last! We each had delicious egg sandwiches for breakfast along with home fries w/onion. Our sandwiches were made on grilled rolls, I had scrabbled w/cheese & sausage patty and hubby had fried egg, bacon & cheese. Served hot off the grill, excellent waitress! The service was friendly but slow but luckily I wasn't in a hurry, yeah I was killing time. Waitress was new and very accommodating after I at first didn't get a menu right away. Speaking of menu it is very small. They use can hash, which I'm not a fan of when I'm out. I decided on the western omelette which was good. Darn I forgot to add cheese. I also got a side of bacon which was delicious. I had rye bread, very good coffee and it all comes with home fries which were sliced and fried. I prefer the homefries crispy, these were not. Seems like they have regulars which is great. I was looking for a good place kind of different for breakfast this morning, and after a few minutes searching, I found this out-of-the-way place not too far from Central Avenue in Fuller Road. I ordered takeout, but could easily have eaten there, if it was lunchtime, the pick up order was very very good. I got two eggs over easy with American cheese, a sausage, patty, Home fries,, corn beef hash and buttered rye toast. The price was reasonable. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It's a nice little diner, not too far on Fuller Road from where it meets Central Avenue. Give it a try! read more

I wanted to give Inga's another try. A few big things happened at the restaurant since my last review. 1) There was a change in ownership. 2) The new owners got a great review from the TU. http://www.timesunion.com/entertainment/restaurants/onereview.asp?RestaurantID=1651 Now I am not afraid of dirty or dingy restaurants. But the review did specifically mention that the new owners planned to "Spiff up the place a bit." Almost eight months after the review, the place still looks like it is falling apart. The food didn't fare much better. I specifically ordered the omelet, because the reviewer said, it "was one of the better omelets I've had in a long time." But mine wasn't. I was served the "half-moon egg patties here" that the TU reviewer also loathes at other breakfast joints. You can look at my picture above, and the picture from the TU review to see what I am talking about. It may not have been the worst Greek omelet I have had, but clearly my expectations were set way too high. And I don't usually eat eggs, so I was having this as an extra special treat, which made it extra sad that they were disappointing. Also while we were there, we got the one-two punch of glass cleaner smells from a nearby table being spritzed and cigarette smoke coming from some mysterious location. Blech. It's not a 1* place. The waitress was very nice, and coffee refills kept on coming. But with Dewey's diner right next door, I will unlikely ever come back to Inga's. read more

No stars, place was absolutely dirty, waitress basically ignored us and when she finally did come over she wasn't nice. She catered to what obviously were regulars. Finally got to order and it was very pricey. 14.95 for omelette, home fries and toast and I didn't get toast. Took forever for the food to come and it literally looked like my omelette fell somewhere and was scooped back up and thrown on the plate all ripped up. Not a word was said by the waitress about it. Home fries were wet and soggy. I didn't even eat the food as it was not edible. I had to ask for a drink refill took her 15 minutes and mind you it wasn't busy. My husband and daughter had chocolate chip pancakes while I had the veggie omelet, everything was amazing the home fries were perfect. Hi, yeah it's me again. Deal with it. I stopped in here at 0730 ( that's 7:30 am for all you long hair hippie civilians ) for breakfast after work. There were plenty of seats at the counter but the handful of tables were taken by what seemed to be regulars. I was swiftly served a cup of decent diner coffee and I placed my order. 2 eggs scrambled, sides of bacon, home fries and rye toast with a glass of milk. And then I waited nearly 25 mins for my food. The food was good however the female cook really needs to learn how to use a toaster, the bread could have stood a few more mins in the toaster. Maybe it's just me but $14 and change seems a bit much for breakfast. I might return but I wouldn't hold my breath. Seriously people don't do that, it's not good for you and you know how I worry. Inga's looks like a greasy spoon in an old trailer, which made me want to go there. My culinary whiz of a boyfriend initially turned his nose up at it until he went there a few weeks ago before an appointment. This morning we stopped there for breakfast again. I like the whole trucker stop feel. Daytime talk shows were playing on the TV and the staff seemed relaxed and laid-back. There are the traditional diner stools and cracking linoleum floors. I was sort of hoping our waitress would crack her gum and wear a nametag that said "Millie" or "Agnes." I bet if you could still smoke indoors, she would have had a cigarette hanging from her lip. I kind of loved it. I got the Trucker's Special for $5.95 - hashbrowns, toast, three eggs and coffee. Dan got the sausage gravy with toast and eggs. Both were filling and cheap and could likely be described as "stick-to-your-ribs." It came to $14 for both us before tip. Was it gourmet? Hardly. But sometimes you just want that trucker stop feel, with subpar coffee and greasy eggs, and a parking lot filled with pickup trucks, you know? Edit: I take back any initial snobbery. Last weekend I tried the Italian omelet from the breakfast specials. For $5.95, it was chock full of Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and peppers. It was absolutely delicious. You'll need to be a tad adventurous to try this little trailer park restaurant. The breakfast platters are priced very fairly, and the portions are large. However, watching the (Greek?) guy make our food behind the counter, this did not look like a very clean place. The food and coffee were ok. Not gross, but certainly not great. read more

Great old school diner. Thank goodness some of these are left. LOVED that it hasn't been gentrified/remodeled or gone, ugh, "retro." The eggs were amazing, the home fries fresh (to order with onions), the toast crispy and hot. The waitress was a pro, and friendly and prompt. The coffee refills were endless. LOVED IT!!! Eggs benny was well poached and the potatoes were OK. The hollandaise sauce however was gravy and goopy-like. I couldn't tell if it came from a can and microwaved or cooked to order. My son wanted to take me a nice quick breakfast on our to do shopping. The blonde waitress didn't catch her seemed way to busy for anyone new to the diner. My son told her 3 times we were ready to order. Her response was "yes I'll be right there". She floated around refilling coffee n looking at newspapers with another customer. Finally took order. Didn't relay it was going to be almost 30 minutes for 2 egg breakfasts. Never checked on us or any of the normal cordial conversation that goes with waiting on tables. I had low expectations for this place (as I do for most generic American style diners) and somehow I still feel let down. They really know how to put the "hard" in hard roll; the one they used for my bacon egg cheese sandwich (the cheese was more like yogurt) had to have been a week old. The coffee was just dirty brown water and the home fries were hard and undercooked. This is the worst coffee I have ever had. I have never had such a disgusting cup of coffee in my life. Not sure why yelp calls it Inga's Diner, as the sign out front says Dewey's Diner. It did look scary from outside, but inside was fine, and clean. Food came out right, hot, and not greasy. Service was good, breakfast was tasty, and priced fair. Good portion size. We had an egg and bacon sandwich, and western omelet with potatoes and rye toast. Only issue is bathroom. It's 18 degrees out and diner is warm, but bathroom is tiny, has no heat, no working lighting, and no hot or warm water in sink (even after letting it run a bit). read more

Love this place. Love sitting at the table by the window. Love watching the cook make breakfast on the grill within site. The waitress is very nice and attentive. The tables, dishes and cutlery are clean. Love the feeling that a lot of the folks are regulars who sit at the counters. Has that old neighborhood diner feel to it. The food is wonderful. Large portions. Full slabs of bacon....not little strips given at most restaurants. The pancakes...thick, golden brown loveliness that don't disintegrate when done up with butter and syrup. I was not a fan of pancakes until I had some at Inga's. Seriously. It's got that nostalgic feeling to it. Reasonably priced. Delicious food made to order practically right in front of you.
