Under the previous owners this place was great for many years. There are new owners for the past several months and things have gone downhill. Hours keep changing and whether they are even open is hit and miss. The food selection is not nearly as varied as it used to be. They also no longer sell newspapers and they don't have lottery anymore. It seems like the new owners are not really committed to making a go of this place and I learned that one of the owners has another restaurant somewhere and that is where he is putting his energies. It is a shame because this place had potential.

Terrible! Went there today for a sub. Very little meat and a hard stale sub roll. Very unhappy, I threw away the sub it was so bad.

My favorite place for a top notch breakfast sandwich! The new owners, Dan and his family do an amazing job with the food. The steak and eggs sandwich I had today, came with sautéed onions, two eggs over easy, sliced steak and provolone cheese on a grilled hardroll. Delicious! There's about 10 tables for eat in. While the place is lacking in atmosphere, it makes up for it with terrific food at reasonable prices. It has large windows in the front so it's bright and cheerful if you dine in. Plenty of parking out back. My 16 years old and his buddies always choose to come here before we head up to Lake George to go boating, it's become a tradition. Uncommon Grounds is down the road with great bagels and atmosphere and I like that place too. However, Rt 20 Deli is simply the best if you want a great sandwich and there's aways a place to sit. It's really a hidden gem.

A great place to get a breakfast sandwich or lunch. Interior is nothing special but the kitchen looks well kept.

Brothers & sisters get together monthly at different restaurants & pubs. We, Nick & Liz, are regulars here & it was our turn to choose. For everyone else this was there first visit. First our table was all set. Our server, Christina, had already set out menus & waters, then took our dinner orders. One sister was impressed with her Bloody Mary made by Dan K. Two excellent pub melts w/ steak fries-always great, two Cajun fish tacos - just great (and she's the fussy sister). Also the Cajun dry rub chicken wing appetizer was also great. Everyone was happy with this choice. Also enjoyed four rounds of Thursday Night Trivia. Thank you Greg & to the staff & the kitchen. You all made it a great, fun evening. See you again soon. What a nice evening, great service, an awesome duo/ band performing ( Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson covers so that would definitely bring me back! ) and ofc great food. It's always been reliable, good food , and welcoming. Disco fries, bbq bourbon chicken sandwich, and sirloin steak sandwich- steak was cooked perfectly and very tender. It's great when good things stay the same.

Joe's Grill is not a place to go see and be seen. It's not where you go chasing the latest cult beer can release. One might look at it and think it's not a place to go for the food either. Those people would be wrong. Are there regulars in there, sucking down beers on a Saturday afternoon? You bet there are. If you get there early, you might even inadvertently sit in one of their seats. But don't worry about it. You're just visiting. They know you'll be gone before too long. Actually, if you order food, you might be at Joe's longer than you might suspect. The food is cooked to order, and it's worth the wait. The wings are seriously good. Now I want to go back and try the pizza. Actually, I want to try a lot of the things on the menu. I'm not entirely sure about the dining room. There's a pool table right in the middle. And while nobody was playing, I found sitting at the bar felt like a much more natural place to be. But this isn't the place to come with a group. They have beer on tap. But beer in bottles is probably a better option. Judging by the empties, It looks like they go through a lot of bottles, so I would expect product cycles through with some regularity. When drinking macro brews, I prefer them to be impossibly cold. But old refrigerators aren't quite up for the task. Still, that's okay. Because do you know what Joe's has that places with colder refrigerators don't? Character. And it's not a character that can be created or imitated. You can't artfully decorate your way to a soulful bar on a forgotten stretch of Central Avenue. But you should find a way to get yourself there. For fried fatty foods, beer in bottles, and some classic rock on the jukebox. It feels wrong to take an Uber or a Lyft. Maybe you can have the car pick you up or drop you off next door, and you can walk the 90 feet to Joe's. Then maybe you could feel like you're part of the neighborhood. More than anything else, this is a neighborhood tavern. And Albany's taverns are this region's diamonds in the rough. They may not look like much, but the culinary and cultural wealth they hold inside is staggering.

It's not like a boot camp chow hall but more of a casual BBQ spot where you can spin on a sweet tea and enjoy some ribs. The restaurant is decorated with items from all branches of the military as well as the local police and fire department. It's nice to see there's pride for the Armed Forces as well as the people who serve and protect. I stopped in for lunch. I know I'm going to BBQ the next day so I pass on the brisket and I ordered the grilled shrimp. The counter person tells the the cook one order of Grilled Shrimp and in about a minute I had my plate. I grabbed a sweet tea, sat in a booth and enjoyed my lunch. Mission BBQ? That was a fantastic lunch! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Mike Charlie

Last time I ordered the three meat sampler for $22. There were two small pieces of brisket (each about 2 inches long) two small slices of sausage and a cup size of pulled pork. This price did not include sides. The service is great and the atmosphere is typical of all other Mission BBQ I have been in but this location seems to be more strict on portion control. I see everything being measured on the scale which is not a bad thing, every business needs to make money but in my opinion the price did not justify the meal. Pulled pork was great, brisket was moist and tender and the extra sides I ordered were good so no problem with the food.
