Husband and I came for date night and we LOVED everything we had! The drinks the food the atmosphere, everything was perfect! The service was quick friendly and fun! I had the lavender mocktail which came with actual pieces of lavender in it and my husband had the other mocktail offered. Both had beautiful presentation that was so enticing! For food I had the chicken skewers which for hot honey was NOT spicy in the least so don't let that scare you away if you're sensitive to spice it's incredibly mild. I wish a small bit of rice/zucchini or something was served with the chicken to fill out the meal but the chicken itself was SO yummy!! we also ordered the shoestring truffle french fries and we were a little nervous cause shoestring could be really thin, but these were the perfect size. They weren't too thin and they were so yummy. My husband ordered the salmon and that equally was perfect, served with quinoa. After we both had the raspberry cake for dessert! Its a very high-toned place. The whole interior and exterior is extravagant looking and cozy. The main issue I had was that the tables were sticky and not clean. When we received out food the syrup was spilt by the server but they never refilled it for us. We also were given silverware and not napkins which to me feels a little odd. Our drinks arrival time was Staggered as well so we were not able to enjoy our drinks at the same time lest they become cold or no longer desirable. The place is beautiful. I always drive pass this place and been wanting to see inside. Decided to eat brunch. They have a nice concept either order at the counter or u can sit at the table and scan the QR code to order. They have few choices but all seems to be good. I just ordered the veggie scramble, added sausage and the honey lavender latte with matcha. Well this is the best matcha coffee i had and they put the lavender seeds on top and it was so good. The veggie scramble is so fluffy and delicious. They have pastries as well. I like the almond croissant. This is a place where you could hangout with friends or just meetup for coffee. It does get a bit loud inside but if you can snag one of the heated patio seats outside, it's a great vibe (albeit the cars may be louder than the patrons lol). I've given the scene three different chances. Every time I've come here with a friend the service has been horrendous. Today I came to celebrate a friend's birthday and took her for coffee. We sat at the bar and they took a very simple order and it took over 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. We had to mention it to a different server before they brought it. Not once did they ask us how anything was and never thanked us. Additionally, they conveniently have it set up so it will never impact their tip because you put the tip in and pay the bill before you ever get your food and drink. Another time when I came here, we sat out on the porch and we were completely forgotten about for 20 minutes. We had to go in and ask for our server. My friend that was with me for her birthday said she's had the same experience multiple times. I live around the block and three times is enough they've lost my business. I get better customer service and friendliness at Starbucks and uncommon ground. Definitely not worth the extra money you pay. read more

Brunch in Albany was a new experience for me. I decided to try this spot out and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very modern, with all the bells and whistles. The color scheme is amazing, and the service is second to none. They move efficiently throughout the restaurant; they don't have just one person assigned to each table but use a group approach, and you can order at the table with the app, which is cool. Bartender Benny was great! The food, I'll say, was fair. I do believe the prices don't fully reflect the quality, but the overall feel is great. When traveling from NYC to Vermont we decided to pick out a nice coffee shop on the way that was near a Tesla charging station. There's a mall near the scene where they have plenty of charging spots and it's a short 7 minute walk from the station to the coffee shop. There's quality of the products was very high and we truly enjoyed it. However, it does come with a high price tag. It is money well spent, it is just more than what we expected for a spot in upstate New York. Nonetheless, the food was great and our matcha/coffees were great. Service was very straight forward. We ordered off our phones and they brought out our food. The ambiance was great and loved the vibe of the restaurant. I will be coming back next time I take this route to go upstate. read more

The Scene is super easy to locate on Western Ave. When you pull into the lot do not turn left to find a spot. Turn right and head directly to the overflow lot. This lot is rocky and wet but the main lot was full and circling back on Western Ave was not fun. Saturday at 130pm was a busy time and I was unable to find a table. There was a seating area with three dingy white chairs and a small low top table where I was able to sit. The chairs need to be re- upholstered! The stains are so noticeable on the white fabric. I started to order using the QR code but it was involved so simply order at the counter. The server will give you a table number and you can relax before your order is delivered. My coffee drink was served incorrectly in a to go container despite having an in house table marker and having my food brought to me. I waited in line at the counter and asked if my drink order was correct? The sever asked if I liked espresso?? I replied by showing him the display picture of the drink and his response was Oh we were out of glasses. The pastry was fluffy and crusty but not as substainal as it appears before you take a bite. Despite the service issue the items I ordered were well flavored and delicious . I would return and try a full menu item. read more

So happy there's a new breakfast lunch coffee place in town. Consistently 'great' food. Hip vibe. It's bright and cheerful and has a NYC feel. Lots of people conversing at tables rather than sitting on their laptops. You seat yourself and scan the QR for service and food selection. Great atmosphere nicely lit, lots of windows, with a big exterior space that's enclosed in the winter for the overflow. Down the road is Uncommon Grounds, which I enjoy, but I get tired of bagels and listening to people yell out order numbers. The Scene has a warm, relaxed feel, a good kind of bustle.. like you'd find in Chicago or NYC. My favorite is the Veggie Scramble. Lots of groups, couples and singles - I didn't see any kids so I can't comment on how kid friendly they are but from the vibe I'm not sure it's a place I would bring a toddler. The food took an hour to come out. The menu resembles the Dunkin' Donuts menu, but at three times the price. There were no waiting staff; you had to order from a QR code on the table. I visited on a weekday afternoon with a friend and found a table immediately. They have a QR code on the table that you scan and can place an order from. I opted for the Salmon Salad, which had grilled salmon, mixed greens, carrots, red peppers, brown rice, avocado, pineapple, and cilantro with a citrus vinaigrette dressing. I'm always on the hunt for a delicious cinnamon latte, and someone mentioned The Scene, so I decided to check it out. The place is adorable from the outside and has a kitschy clean vibe, and was PACKED!! It also gave me the feeling you're supposed to show a college ID to get in it's a very young crowd. The hostess was not overtly friendly but maybe she was overwhelmed by the crowd and awkward entry area for people coming in to wait. There was a 30 minute wait for a seat, so we opted for a hot latte and some pastries to go. The latte was OK not awesome, the espresso was a little bitter. The cinnamon roll was the one thing I would go back for, it was more of a croissant in the shape of a cinnamon roll and it was so good. Overall I personally won't go out of my way to go back unless I really need a cinnamon roll or time travel back to my early 20's and enroll in college so I can fit in. read more

One thing that sets them apart (aside from their aesthetic and insta worthiness) is their unique latte art printer--something I've never come across before. Customizing your latte art is super easy and adds such a fun, personal touch to your coffee experience. The barista, who was incredibly kind and helpful, walked me through the process. She gave me a QR code to scan, which led to an app where I could create or upload my design. I used Canva to make mine and uploaded it directly to the app. Once you're done, you just let the barista know, and voilà! Your masterpiece is printed on your latte. The drinks don't have descriptions on the online ordering menu so you have to look up their main menu. The food can't be ordered on your phone so you have to order from the counter. Very confusing. Food: The charcuterie board was good, but also nothing special. The fig jam was the highlight and the Gouda was surprisingly decent but there was no wow factor. Drinks: The drinks sound basic, but so is the place and that's OK. The tiramisu martini was delicious. The strawberry basil margarita seems to be made with fresh strawberries and was refreshing! As soon as we walked in we realized we were severely underdressed for this upscale (but not outrageously expensive) brunch spot. They have a lot of choices to appease vegetarians and meat eaters - I settled for the West Coast breakfast sammy while my partner got the Scenewich. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the sandwiches came with a delicious arugula salad, which was not noted on the menu. Everything was delicious, and came out super quick. My partner also got a house coffee and loved the warmed up oat milk they served with it - definitely a nice touch. This place has a champagne vending machine (what?!?!) as well as a cute gelato stand. This place would be absolutely perfect for a bachelorette party. This was our fave spot in Albany! read more
