I like the sandwiches here, and I like the breakfast options. I prefer to come here in less busy times, though there's always the risk they may have run out of something. I originally thought that I wasn't getting as much for my money here when you consider the size of the sandwich versus other places selling subs at the same price. I'm a huge fan of JC's deli. I frequent here for lunch weekly. My go too's are the daily changing soups along with a salad. I'm never disappointed. The Caprese sandwich is definitely my favorite completely fresh ingredients would recommend anyone. The sides and treats are amazing. The staff is great. The store is immaculately clean. Went searching for a classic Maurice's roast beef au jus and found this place that hit the spot very nicely. Sandwich was flavorful and delicious and macaroni salad was fresh. Lots of great specials like a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. We'll be back. Only negative was the seating area isn't very comfortable and the onion roll was spongy. My friend chose the same sandwich on a hard roll and it was fresher and higher quality. All in all a good deli experience right down to the crisp fresh pickles. read more

This small deli is trying something new, wood fired pizza! When I came, they had only been serving the pizza for about a week. The owner was operating the oven and he seemed very passionate and has a lot of aspirations for the new oven. This deli offers a ton of homemade deli items; soups, salads, baked goods, sandwiches, bread, and now pizza too. I came to try the pizza! I saw on Facebook that they were offering white clam pie. That's one of my favorite pizzas, I couldn't turn it down! The pie was well cooked, some char, great flavor with entire bulbs of roasted garlic and lots of chopped clams. I wish the crust was a little more airy, with maybe a little less toppings, but either way it's a good pizza. I'll be back to try a different flavor soon and I'm excited to see how they improve over time. Great place for lunch in a really convenient location. Downside is they are currently only open for lunch hours, but will expand their hours when they settle in to the new oven. read more

The staff are really excellent here - on our recent visit they offered a fresh sandwich that was off-menu when one of our kids asked for it, and then brought everything out to us - and for the strip mall location, it's quite pleasant inside (the wall mirror helps a lot). Our lunch sandwiches were good, deli standard, and the coffee hot and not burned even in early afternoon. The breakfast vegetarian sandwich, though, deserves special mention. It's extremely tasty and generous, and served on a real bun and not a degraded English muffin or bagel substitute. Recommended over neighboring Bruegger's and Yonder, by a long shot. read more

What a nice discovery! I grew up in a time when quality delis were commonplace. I took them for granted in my childhood. Colonie alone had several. Mike's in Colonie Center and Platt's Place (my first job!) on Wolf Rd. to name just two. Anyway, over the years there have been less and less traditional delis in the Albany area. I was shopping at Kohls and needed lunch so I stopped in. It was like a happy blast from the past. A huge wall menu with all the traditional sandwiches. They also have a hot special and soups. I ordered from the top of the menu. A hot roast beef on a Kaiser roll. I got the horseradish mayo on the side along with an order of macaroni salad. The meat was plentiful,tender and flavorful with plenty of juice. Exactly what I wanted from a hot roast beef. The macaroni salad was traditional with a mild pleasing flavor. Along with a half sour pickle I was good to go. I'll have to stop at Kohls more often so I can try more of their menu items. Sometimes things are as good as you remember them. This is a great sandwich place. I tried the corned beef and it was slightly dry. They put a ton of meat on the sandwich. The pastrami is amazing. Little pricey for the accompanying addons like drinks and chips. Any time I'm in the mood for a sandwich we go here. The pickles seem homemade and are super fresh. read more

I had a little time to kill before a place nearby was opening. Looking for coffee that wasn't McDonald's I stumbled upon this place. They had several breakfast sandwiches on their menu and I decided to give one a try. I opted for the classic which is a meat of your choosing (I went with bacon), eggs, and cheese on a bun. When was the last time you ordered a breakfast sandwich under five dollars and the person you gave the order to started by cracking in egg on the grill? That's right, they cooked my egg fresh! I feel sad that my new standard is just the fact that my food didn't come out of a microwave. Nonetheless, the sandwich was delicious, the service was speedy and friendly, and my meal was reasonably priced! I can't wait to come back and try lunch one day soon! And here's a tip: if you stop in for breakfast and get one of the coffees out of the pots lined up, the half-and-half is in one of the coffee pots! read more

I was in the area of JC's deli & needed some cold cuts. I searched deli near me & they popped up. I didn't see a cold cut menu on display, only sandwich menu. So I asked the employee do you guys do cold cuts by the pound? She looked confused so I clarified, I don't need a sandwich just a half pound of Turkey & half pound of cheese. She said yes & told me what they offer for cheese. I opted for 1/4 lb of American & 1/4 lb of cheddar. Payed $14.04 for the Turkey & cheeses. Got the cold cuts home & went to make a sandwich. The Turkey was fine but I noticed a lot of dark flecks in between each piece of cheese. Maybe they didn't clean the slicer after whatever meat was previously sliced? I tried the cheddar, & immediately had to spit it out. I love all types of cheese including sharp cheese, but this didn't taste right. I called & explained my situation & spoke to the owner. He became & little defensive & said "all of our products are very fresh & maybe it was salt & pepper". But why would there be salt & pepper on a deli slicer & in between the cheese? I asked for a refund if I bring the product back to him. He said he would replace the product. But I'm no longer interested in what they have to offer for cheese. Long story short maybe they're not really set up for cold cut orders. But I certainly wouldn't want that cheese on my sandwich either. read more

Place is whack. Lady who works there been there for years (since I first went, she's probably an owner or manager) and treats me a little shittier every time. I don't have the menu memorized and every time I ask a question it's an inconvenience. Basic customer service can go a long way. There are plenty of regulars here that get treated just fine. I just won't ever be one of them. Also, your pickles suck and not allowing a lunch special of a half-sandwich to go on a roll is as cheap as you can get. What are you saving? 15 cents per order? Got a 10$ + tax Turkey and swiss sandwich on white bread with mayo. Bread hard and cold. crust unchewable. A tiny bit of mayo smeared just in the middle of the bread and the 75 cent pickle that comes with it didn't come with it. read more

This used to be Maurice's Deli. They still have great sandwiches. The soups are great. The pickles are just like my grandmother used to make. But I refuse to go there because of the woman behind the counter who has a condescending, smartass remark everytime I order a sandwich. I'm paying for your product. My favorite spot for subs. The ingredients are fresh and crisp. The bread holds everything together but it's not stiff, so you can get a good bite without dumping the contents out the back.
