If you want an amazing meat filled sub then this is the place!! Or if you want a veggie filled sub then this is still the place! I haven't been able to eat meat in years, but was craving roast beef one day. Typically I only get subs with tons of cheese and veggies, but wow this roast beef sub went down nicely. The service is amazing and very fast! Don't let a line distract you, because it moves fast. This isn't really a sit down type of place. They have other options to eat as well. I haven't been to Deli and Brew in a long time. It's good to see that nothing has changed. I got an enormous sub that was on special and a slice of prosciutto and arugula pizza for $13.00!! That's unheard of! The sub has a ton of ham and a huge roll. Most importantly it tasted delicious. The pizza had a nice thin crust and a good mix of flavors. I'm pretty sure the regular prices are a little bit higher but it's still an amazing value for what you get. The sub could have easily fed 3 people. Their pizza is as good as it gets with huge pieces of meat, not the dinky pieces here and there you get from some pizza places. I was always a big fan of deli and brew. I'm not sure what happened. Their selections have been reduced and their service. The employees are just rude. I went in for cold cuts guy just slapped them down on the counter didn't properly fold it into a bag, never weighed it and then was indignant when I questioned the weight. Deli & Brew has a cult-like following in the area but I just don't get it. Yes, the sandwiches are ginormous. A large sandwich will easily last 2 days, 3 if you don't over eat. And yes, D&b is extremely generous with their toppings. But honestly... that's it. The line is always massive no matter what time of day. You can call in an order and arrive when they tell you and still be waiting 15-20 minutes in store for them to fully get your order ready. The sandwiches are good, but I don't really think the quality is any different than that I'd any other capital area deli. Stopped here for the first time because my other "go to" deli was closed on this day. Place was busy; but really what stood out to me was the curt service - there were three deli attendants; none of them spoke clearly so it was hard to understand what they were saying and not particularly friendly if you asked them to repeat something. Then there was a weird dynamic when someone took your order and then stepped away, and someone else came back to fill it, and asked the same questions all over again. Another customer happened to mention he gave his order to the other person (so he wouldn't get a duplicate order) and was met with a curt "he stepped away, so you have to tell me" what kind of system is this? We placed an order for a BLT, on toasted bread....I asked for mayo on it; and was abruptly told I had to wait until the bread was toasted before I could mention adding mayo. Just seemed odd, with a lot of rules; what you can say, when, and that ordering a sandwich was just an inconvenience for them. On the other hand; the guy behind the pizza counter seemed pleasant and customer friendly. In the end, the food was good; the place had a steady flow of customers....just not a particularly welcoming place to be a customer. At least not if you want a deli-sandwich, it seems. read more

The food here is tasty , fresh and plentiful. The pizza is fantastic but my favorite is when you get one slice and they heat it up Crust gets nice and crispy ..one slice will fill you up. I ordered a turkey on rye with mayonnaise when I opened my sandwich, it was on marble bread and dry as there was no mayonnaise on it at all. Where to begin, I had heard some good things about deli & brew but my experience was anything but. I ordered a 3' hero for Christmas eve that came to about $60 so about $20 a foot; everything from the service, to the actual food was horrible. The staff was abrasive, rude and if it hadn't been so close to Christmas Eve, I probably would have cancelled the order just based off of my interaction with the staff when ordering. But I understand that the holidays are stressful so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they don't deserve it. The hero we ordered felt like it was made days in advanced and sat in a cooler, the bread they used was subpar at best, the meat on the sandwich was super dry and the cheese they used was disgusting. I know that I will never get back the money I spent on it back, but hopefully this will save someone from spending their hard earned money on this place and keep them from making the same mistake that I did. 0 out of 10, would not recommend. It's my favorite local sub spot. Why, you may ask? Well, of course I'm going to tell you. Quality!! I love a fresh turkey sub with pickles. Olives lettuce mayo and cheddar on a really delicious bun. Simple can be so good. The meats are made in house, there aren't those gross windows of fat in your meat like other places. It's the real bird. The cheese is high-quality cheddar. The fixings are fresh. And its on a great bun. Even the pickles have a snap to them. My Husband likes his with their tiger sauce. They have delicious homemade salads both fresh and what I call picnic style like macaroni salad and the like. A huge selection of chips and beverages. And ,they also have pizza and pasta available. The pizza looks amazing. But alas, I can not eat tomato sauce. It's not really a sit-down spot more of a grab and go, but they do offer some limited seating. The place is always packed and hopping. The last few times I ordered from Deli & Brew thru Grubhub my order was incomplete. When I contacted them, I was told to contact Grubhub. That pissed me off a bit. I think Deli and Brew needs to start paying attention more to customer service. I have been a good customer. This would have easily been a five star review- the food is amazing and the selection is plentiful. What gets me is that they look at all of their customers wearing masks, then neglect to do it themselves while making your food. The first time I asked to wear one the reply was "well Rensselaer county doesn't mandate it..." Really dude? Then tonight I got "...why would I do that?" Uhh because there's a respiratory infection pandemic which is spiking in huge numbers right now and YOU'RE MAKING MY FOOD... To their credit, they did comply...
