The Patatas Bravas were absolutely the best thing I've tasted in a long time, the flavors of the salsa verde and the aioli along with the lardon were delightful and satisfying. I very much appreciate that they didn't use cheese in this dish. You could tell the whole meal was homemade and full of flavor. I love having Lost & Found just down the street as an option when my partner and I want something lowkey but delicious. It's a comfortable and cozy space with good drinks and a quite eclectic menu for a place you think is going to be serving up typical bar food. I enjoy their focus on local and in-season ingredients, I'm always keeping an eye on their Instagram to see what their unique specials are; their recent ode to leeks was so tasty. There is always something vegetarian/vegan on the menu so I never have to worry. Brunch here is also a great idea, those house made biscuits are worth stopping in alone. Lost & Found really focuses on highlighting and supporting Albany/the Capital Region whether it's with their ingredients, drinks, or live music so I feel even better about supporting them. Once they start offering a plant-based hot dog so I can join in on the fun and deliciousness of the Wednesday hotdog club I will rush back to give them that 5th star ;) read more

Finally eating here after hearing about it from fellow Yelpers for years. The food definitely lives up to the hype. My Chicken Katsu Sandwich was delicious with panko coated smoked dark meat chicken, pickled vegetables and yuzu mayo and eel sauce.. what an Unami mix!! The texture of the chicken was great too. If I had to nitpick I would say the chicken was too substantial for the brioche bun but it was still amazingly flavorful. My husband's empanadas were very tasty too. When asked if they had any birthday specials the proprietor brought out a candle bedecked beer!! That's a first for us. The price was fair for what we got. I wish we had been told about Happy Hour specials before it was too late to order them. Oh well, we'll be back. read more

Great food and great beers! Took our 8 year old for a bite - he devoured the PERFECT fries while we each got a delicious meal. A simple salad was extra special and my husband got some biscuits/benedict monstrosity that tasted amazing too. We weren't expecting anything special but we ended up very pleasantly surprised. We arrived early, our reservation was 25 minutes from the time we arrived. A waitress offered us to sit at a high top which we were considering. Another woman approached us manager? Hostess? told us we were early (which we knew) and told us to wait outside or at the bar. You clearly have tables obviously available, yet you tell us to go outside.Folks with a reservation earlier than ours step in and are seated. We would have been patient but would have appreciated being seated as there were many tables available. Staff person was dismissive and rude we left. Won't be back. YUM! I could stop there, but I won't. I've had this place on my radar for a while and finally made it last night! Let's start with the food. Eclectic, comfort food-ish menu that changes a few times a year with something for everyone. We started with the garlic toast/crumbled blue cheese and the plate of warm olives. The toast was absolutely delicious - the schmear between the blue cheese and bread: honey. Savory, crunchy and sweet. YES! The warm olives were addictive. Several varieties and sizes heated through with some delightful seasoning on top. Let's move on to the actual dinners: Pig Mac (as a platter...which includes fries and pickles instead of just the sandwich) and the vegetable pancake. I really enjoyed the vegetable pancake - lots of flavors and textures throughout. I tasted the Pig Mac and it definitely reminded me of the Big Mac (which I haven't had many of in my life)...but so much better. The bun was exactly the kind that I like - soft and super fresh. The ratio of pickles, sauce, bread....etc...was just right. But let's move on to my favorite thing and one of my biggest weaknesses: the fries. I'd call these fries perfection. Just the right amount of crunch on the outside with the soft potato inside and a dash of salt. I'd seriously come back for a platter of fries. But there are so many interesting choices, I'll have to try some other stuff. Definitely has a bit of a hipster vibe without any pretentiousness. Crowd was mixed age groups and the decor is very cool. There's a good sized stage so they have live music. Service? Excellent. Definitely a place to check out and recommend to others. read more

I swung by Lost & Found on the way to an event at Nine Pin across the street, but since I had two beers at the bar and two snacks I'm a legit reviewer. The octopus corn dog was a winner: a tender and meaty octo tentacle in that familiar fried cornmeal crust, and served with a charred lime slice and some really tasty mustard dip. The Pig Mac was also a hit, more for quantity than quality. I would not say, as some have, that this is analogous to the similarly named sandwich served at a certain establishment run by a clown. It's better. More meat, better bun, though I recognized the shredded lettuce and sauce. Those two food items plus a good beer list are the reason the review is four rather than three stars. Lost & Found has taken over the spot which was formerly a faux Texas barbecue and done little or nothing with the decor; the polyurethaned rough wood surfaces and bright lighting are out of step with what should be a more refined experience. I have had Lost & Found bookmarked for a long time and I am so happy I made it here for my Birthday. I invited a large group of people to come with me and try it out. The menu was a little out there for some people but me and my BF really enjoyed our meals. I have not been here since it was the Saloon, but I feel that it looks very similar inside. The outdoor patio is still a huge highlight! They also have a great beer selection! There were quite a few beers worth trying. It was hard to choose! The menu has a good variety of dishes that sound well thought out - and delicious. The duck poutine was calling my name. I really enjoy ordering duck when I see it on the menu and this did not dissapoint. It was the crispiest piece of duck I have ever had, the gravy was tasty, and the fingerling potatoes were a great touch to make it unique, and the cheese curds, wait - cheese curds? The chef forgot them. I enjoyed the dish with out without them. I did mention it to the waitress (maybe the manager? she seemed to be in charge) that my dish was missing the curds. She quickly corrected this and brought me a shit ton (actual unit of measurement in my book) of cheese curds, but i was already almost through my dish. Thank you for making up for it, but I really wish they were there. They also comped me a beer - more than made up for it. My BF asked for them to make something not on the menu - a bacon cheese burger. They figured something out with the patty for the chopped cheese, some bacon and cheddar cheese. He loved it. Me and my friends used to come here every Wednesday night for their hotdog specials. I accidentally left my to-go order there when I left and I live 30 mins away so I called and was very nice about it asking if I could just have a refund. If they said no - okay it was my bad and I understand that. I don't know who I spoke to on the phone - but this man kept setting the phone down maybe thinking we couldn't hear him? He was swearing about how he didn't know how to refund the order. I paid online and he couldn't figure it out. No problem. The problem is he kept swearing about it jesus christ this and f*ck that. My boyfriend eventually stepped in because we can leave it at that no big deal. There was absolutely no need for the cursing and attitude I received. I have been a regular customer every wednesday consecutively for MONTHS. $60-$70 every single time. He eventually said he can give me a credit after since the server was aware it was me on the phone and knows I am there all the time. I kindly declined because that was absolutely ridiculous the way I was spoke to on the phone over something that could've been a simple no. He hung up on me. Service has always been fantastic and the food has always been great. Unfortunately I will not be returning because of the way this all went down. read more

Two words: Chef's counter. Reading through some of the reviews, and talking with Ian the chef, it's clear that probably the best feature of this restaurant and craft beer bar has gone unnoticed for too long. And I'm sharing this in conflict with my own self interest. Because the chef's counter only has a few stools. Just try to save one for me, okay? There are only a few stools, because the kitchen at Lost & Found is tiny. Teeny tiny. And yet, Ian and his crew are able to work miracles. They cure their own meats for the charcuterie board special. The last time I was at the counter, he was working on a pate, and there was a pancetta hanging in the fridge. Plus, you get to see a lot of the food come out. And you get to chat with Ian, who is awesome. He may even send you out a little taste of something while you're there. Okay, the stools may be a little low. Or maybe the counter is a little high. Which can make eating just a touch awkward, but the experience is one of my favorite in the area. And the experience is all about the food. Because while this is a kitchen where vegetables can take center stage, it's also a place that makes a dressed up burger called the "Pig Mag" with pork patties instead of beef. But I've been sticking the the vegetable side of things. In summer I came and had a simple salad that rocked my world. Little things, like a shower of fluffy micro-planed pecorino, and a delicate drizzle of lemon juice squeezed from the fruit, just made the tender greens shine even brighter. In fall, it was hard to decide between the roasted parsnips with braised red cabbage or the charred winter squash with radicchio jam. And something as simple as a shaved celery and pear salad with pink peppercorns had flavors that enchant me still. I hear that in winter the broccoli rabe that everyone has raved about will be returning. And I'll be returning too. And maybe, just maybe, if I can get my act together and start exercising a bit, I can begin to dip my toe into the more indulgent side of the menu. Think of this as one of those great restaurants in Troy, but with more of an Albany warehouse district feel. Yeah, it may not look like a date night spot. But you also don't have to pay date night prices, or get date night dressed up. I've got nothing but love. Except for those stools. I'd love it even more if they could be a few inches higher. Hopefully that will keep at least a few of you away, and make sure I always have a seat. read more

Lost & Found has a hot sauce bar. Need I say more? Apparently, I do. My experience with the food here has been mixed. We were deeply disappointed by the fried chicken sandwich we had during our first meal here closer to Lost & Found's opening. The skin was soggy and fully soaked with oil. It pulled away from the chicken thigh like a wet glove. I'm guessing our experience was a flub, because friends ordered this sandwich a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The grilled cheese was generous in size and tasty. And it was actually crispy! An actual accomplishment considering the number of times I've had a grilled cheese come out at several establishments and it's barely toasted. I love burrata and often order it any time it's on the menu. An older iteration of the menu served the burrata with dried apricots and a generous serving of crostini. I was a big fan of this burrata. More recently, I tried the burrata with smoked raisins. I did not enjoy this version nearly as much. The raisins took on a medicinal flavor and overpowered the delicate cheese. The fries here are addicting, and we've enjoyed the garlic Parmesan wings. I like that the beer list rotates, and there always seems to be at least one sour/gose on draft and one in can. Many "craft" beer places provide a ton of IPA options and slack on the sour/gose. Sour fans, rejoice! Lost & Found sees you. Even if you don't want to come for a bite, Lost & Found's patio is worth the trip. Lost & Found has managed to capture what its predecessor seemed to miss. That laid-back, summer feeling of an afternoon in your backyard. There's cornhole, a variety of seating arrangements -- including some chairs in front of a fire pit -- and sometimes you'll even catch live music. Lost & Found is bound to be busy on a nice summer day or night, and even on a blustery winter weekend. If the weather is iffy, hunker down inside with a selection of board games to keep you entertained. It's absolutely worth dealing with the crowds for a laid back day or night with friends. read more

I've come here twice now and have really enjoyed both experiences. The first time was during the summer and the outdoor area is awesome- really cute vibe with seating and games. I also was able to get a vodka club for only $5 which I thought was a steal. The second time I went was during winter and we sat down inside and had dinner. The ambiance is pretty fun and eclectic, but the vibe is definitely more bar than restaurant. They have a pretty good beer menu so if you like that this is a good spot. We split the chicken sandwich and it didn't come with fries, which was annoying. We wanted fries and they were $5 extra, which I thought was a little steep price wise. The fries ended up being delicious, but the chicken sandwich itself was just ok. It had good flavors but it was heavily salted. I like salty things but this was just too much, I couldn't even finish my half. read more

This was my 1st stop at Lost and Found but it won't be my last. Our waitress was amazing. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and she put up with me asking questions I shouldn't ask like where she was from and what's up with your bracelet, lol. The service was faster than expected and the food was delicious. I had the double pork sandwich and it was as good as advertised. I coupled that with fries and home cut pickles and they matched up perfectly. If this place was open during lunch i would eat here at least once per week. I have been come here multiple times, each time I have had a great experience. The menu specials are awesome and unique changing often but there are some staples that I have enjoyed. First, the grilled cheese, I'm sorry I know your thinking okay, so it's grilled cheese, but my God is it decadent and does not disappoint. I have also had the pig Mac and a wings special. The pig Mac is straight forward but satisfying and done well. The wings were non standard flavor, but I found myself cleaning the plate because the sauce just worked. I have been there with larger groups, ordering apps and drinks aplenty. If you love all things pickled, then try the dilly beans and pickled eggs in chili oil. I prefer the marinated roast olives. Deliciously salty and go well with a sweet cocktail. I have been working down the cocktail menu, I can remember the names but I haven't had a bad one, with the top three on the list being ridiculously awesome. The atmosphere of the place is friendly, casual, and warm. But still nice enough to go for birthdays and baby showers. The cozy raised couch in the corner is a fantastic place to sit and sip with a group of friends while playing some board games. A final note, I have heard good things from people about renting the bar for larger events. Overall I look forward to coming many more times :) read more

I came out to Lost & Found with a friend on the night of the soft opening. We ordered and shared the following: smoked oysters, wedge salad, double pork sandwich, and carbonara fries. My friend and I loved the flavor of the oysters. You could definitely get the smokiness but the oysters really came through it. I really enjoyed the wedge salad, as it was topped with an everything bagel seasoning, which I thought was quite clever (also tasty). I was intrigued by a food blogger's post about the carbonara fries (described as "WTF levels of deliciousness"). They were excellent, despite being a bit on the salty side. I could tell the fries on their own would be awesome. On the service side, the server we had was super nice and friendly. Our water glasses were filled at a decent frequency. And our bill came promptly after we asked for it. I've been to other restaurant soft openings around the area, but this was the most well-run one I have attended yet. I don't usually base my opinion of a place on the soft opening, but I don't know if the experience could really be improved too much before long. If my dinner was at all telling of the kind of service and food you'd get in the future, you'll be in for a great treat of a meal! read more

After attempting, unsuccessfully, several places for a Sunday brunch, Lost and Found was the last bastion. Liked the fact that it is tucked away in the industrial area of Broadway across from another fave, Nine Pine. We ate outside and it was pleasant. The outdoor space is private. I had the breakfast burrito. My wife and daughter had the French toast. My burrito was fine, a bit runny, but not an issue for me. The French toast was very eggy, a bitt soggy. I was exited to check out the newly opened Lost & Found because I've been to this location many times under its previous identity and was always underwhelmed. But it's such a great space in an up and coming location that I always thought there was lots of potential here. I do think they have done a great job fixing the interior up and I love the patio - I could see this as a good place to come with a group of friends for drinks. There is also a nice extensive beer list. Unfortunately, I was not wowed by the food on a recent visit, which is why I feel obligated to ding them by a few stars. I got a plate of chili fries - two things that I love combined, which should be delicious. Yet the fries were immediately soggy (not just the ones under the chili, but even the ones at the edge), and the chili was very bland and chunky/watery. I also tried the deviled crab appetizer, which was served as two small crostini pieces topped with crab meat and a sauce reminiscent of deviled eggs. The waitress advised that this dish had some spice to it, but I definitely couldn't find any. It was hard to eat (too big for a bite, too hard to cut with the crisp crostini on the bottom) and just tasted drenched in mayonnaise. I also find the menu to be too small - it's unclear if this is just the opening menu or if this is the permanent size - but I wish there were more shareable items. With only a couple of appetizers and entrees, there's not a lot of selection. read more
