I had my mind set on these carbonara fries for weeks. I wanted to love this place, but sadly I did not. We came in on a Friday night and were seated promptly. After waiting for a server for a bit, we put in our drink order. We waited so long for our drinks that we contemplated ditching the waters and just leaving.. multiple times. We were so hungry though we waited it out. Obviously the pain of waiting is eased by alcohol. I've worked in many restaurants and know that getting a customer a drink is top priority.. here it was not. After reading reviews we decided on the pig mac and the carbonara fries. We also opted for the special crab fritters. Although it was a restaurant feel with service, the fries came out in a paper boat and not overly warm. The sandwich did not make me 'weak in the knees' as another reviewer raved, but it was decent. The crab fritters tasted like hush puppies that has been set near seafood so there was a vague smell. Everything was so good! Staff, service, food, atmosphere, patrons. We had a great experience. I need to go back soon to try more menu items, it was hard deciding between 5 things I really wanted to try. I follow Lost & Found on Instagram and their specials always look amazing too. I came to Lost & Found for the first time to attend a holiday party. Right away, I loved the atmosphere. It's cozy and very inviting - great for bigger groups. Although we didn't order from the menu, the appetizers and finger food that were available to us were amazing. I'm still dreaming about their baba ganoush, toasted pita, and garlic Parmesan wings. The staff was also super helpful. I just wish they had more tap options, but there is an extensive can selection. I can't wait to come back to order off their regular menu. Edit: I came back for dinner! We ordered the oxtail special and the bone marrow served with toast. Both dishes were delicious! The oxtail came with mashed potatoes with (I believe) cheese mixed in. Lost & Found is some of the best food in the capital region. Seriously. It's seasonal, surprising flavor combinations are drool-worthy. My only mild complaint is it's identity crisis. The food surpasses Little Pecks, The Shop... all of the contemporary places locally but they have like, four TVs and a dart board. There is a disconnect. They need to elevate the vibe to match the to-die-for food. It's not going to stop me from coming. Nothing can keep me away from the smoke acorn squash. I wish we had not eaten earlier, because looking at the menu, there were quite a few items I would have enjoyed trying. "pulled" chicken with the nachos was grisly and grey for some reason. couldn't have been a seasoning because it was flavorless. the nachos themselves lacked a sufficient amount of cheese and had literally no black beans. absolutely not worth the $16. falafel dry and did not have any hummus or tahini. and they were simply out of grapefruit juice, which is a key ingredient in their best cocktail. this was immediately after they opened for dinner on Saturday night. inexcusable. used to love this place, then they hired that new chef and everything went down the tubes. it's not the same restaurant as it was one year ago, absolutely for the worse. won't be coming back. sucks but everything comes to an end eventually I suppose. read more

This bar was a ghost town before Lost & Found took over. They have a lot going for them, which means I've stopped in about once a week since they opened. 1) Excellent food! Seriously, the food they put on the plate is great. It isn't your typical bar fare. For example: a burger made from ground pork, carbonara fries (fries covered in pecorino cheese & pepper, served with a runny egg on top), lamb gyros, open faced turkey sandwich served on brioche, etc. The menu does change with the seasons and they have weekly specials. If you're complaining about the price, well, hey, welcome to Albany, NY. If the food is too strange for you, head down the street to Stout where they'll be glad to serve you some pedestrian garbage and still charge you $10. 2) Great beer selection. If you're into craft beers, check this place out. What they may lack in taps, they certainly have in can selection. Grimm, Omnipollo, Founders, Sloop, Lord Hobo and many more. They have you covered, and like the food, it changes. 3) Expansive back patio. One of the best outdoor spaces in downtown Albany. Tons of room, a fire pit, lights and many picnic tables and high tops. Plus during the warm weather months, there's cornhole set-up (and a corn-hole league on Tuesday nights). Say hi to Little Nipper out back. 4) Solid staff. Bartenders and staff are friendly, helpful and really a great crew. Stop on in, start being a regular, and you'll see what I mean. Joining the crowd on a rave review of the food here. We brought a group of seven and I think half of us ordered the Pig Mac (not named that on the menu, though described as such) based on the reviews here. And now I understand why, it was delicious. Cooked perfectly, melty tasty cheese. If I were to change anything it would be to have a sesame seed bun to really replicate the Mac, but that's far from a complaint. It was a little noisy, but honestly, we contributed to that just as much as everyone. It was mid-December and everyone was in cheerful holiday mood. The service was excellent, our waitress was very helpful. A minor recommendation would be to have the beer list available at tables or somewhere more visible. They are going with the chalkboard style wall menu but that wasn't easily accessible from where we were seated. Great selection though, I have to say. We've never had a bad meal, and even when there is the occasional hiccup, it's corrected before we even notice it. And if all else fails, there are familiar domestic bottles to keep everyone happy. The interior area is warm and cozy. The outdoor space is outstanding. The interior Vibe is also very nice, and the beer selection is excellent and creative. They have a large can selection and all of the cans are 16oz which was a nice theme I was very excited about the food as we are big fans of Ian the chef. Everything the four of us ordered was good but we were hoping for great or wow! The pig Mac burger was very good and a lot of fun. The deviled crab snack was too spicy for me. The two beer drinkers were thrilled with the beer list but the two wine drinkers were disappointed. We were told the only wine was a Riesling and then they found a Chardonnay for us but didn't know what Vineyard it was. It was okay and this could maybe be attributed to start up. We were surprised that the wine was $10 per glass. And they don't show any wine information on their Facebook page and they don't have a website so we can't tell if that's going to change and if the wine drinkers can come back. The two beer drinkers will definitely be back to enjoy the patio and the inside and try more of the food offerings. read more

This was my first time at Lost and Found and it defiantly will not be my last. I was in the area with my daughters and we decided to stop in for brunch. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly hostess who promptly seated us at a table. Drinks arrived within minutes of sitting down. As we sipped we looked over the menu and tried to choose from all the delicious sounding items. I decided on simple ham and eggs, they were anything but simple. The ham was fried perfect and was coated in a vinegar au jus then topped with perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and some pickled chilies. I broke the eggs with my fork and the creamy yellow yokes run down over the ham and mix with the au jus. I could not wait for the first bite and when I cut the ham, egg and swirled it in the jus my mouth was watering. I put the fork in my mouth and my tastebuds did a happy dance. I concentrated on eating the rest all while I was planning my next visit and what I was going to order. If you are down in Albany on a Sunday make sure to stop in for brunch and a Nine Pin Mimosa! I had wanted to try this place out for awhile. It had a cool vibe and the food looked fantastic. The vibes are pretty cool. It's decorated well and they have board games, which is always a plus. We started out with carbonara fries, which, even though I haven't had much on their menu, is my favorite thing on the menu. Who invented this? It's amazing. I will probably come back here for the fries alone. I ended up ordering the pork ribs. I don't know why I did only because the pork ribs had fennel in it and I hate fennel. Why do I keep eating things with fennel? Maybe I think I'll like the taste someday. It just seems to overpower everything I eat and that could just be because I can't stand it. This is totally my fault. Everything else was great. I think I just saw "blood orange" and I freaked (I love blood oranges). Our waitress was awesome. I don't remember her name, but she was a pleasure overall. The spot was a bit cold, so make sure you bring a sweater. Most people had coats on. The layout of the restaurant makes for a huge draft every time someone opens the door. I don't know what they can do to fix this that would be fire regulation appropriate. Maybe a curtain? Not sure. It wasn't that big of a deal. Anyway, this place was cool. It had unique food items and a great vibe/staff. They change their menu seasonally so keep an eye out for that. I visited Lost & Found this past weekend for a SidePiece show after seeing the Disco Biscuits at the Palace Theatre and this place is not to be missed when in Albany! The space is cozy and intimate but they arranged it so there was still plenty of room to dance with your friends to the music. I didn't get there in time to have food but heard from friends who got there earlier that the food is top notch! The friendly bartender made me a hot toddy that warmed me up from the cold right away! Love lost and found. Located in an up and coming area of Albany, with a unique vibe. Excellent brunch on Sundays (go for the pig Mac or curry up sandwich for first timers). The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. Have never had an order screwed up, have never had an unpleasant experience with any other customers. They have a nice open outside area including a fireplace. Dogs allowed which is also amazing. Highly recommend. All ages. Oh and they have live music as well! read more

We came on a busy brunch time for someone's bday and while I understand being stressed due to being busy, there is no excuse for being rude. Being kind takes literally no extra time and one of the servers was unnecessarily rude. It literally made all of us uncomfortable.
