Walked in at about 10:50pm. Fight going on outside of the bar people being hostile, yikes ok. I went to get a singular beer inside during my travels and a young girl about my age kicked me out just as I stepped in the bar just because of what was going on outside. She was shouting explatives at me with a nasty mood. Always thought the place looked really nice, will probably never come here again after that first impression. We have been going here for many many years and have always enjoyed the food the music and the atmosphere. We went tonight to have pizza, drinks and appitizers which wer very good bit when the pizza cane out it looks fabulous until we ate it we ordered sausage and onions and it was terrible the sausage is disgusting and the sauce is very sweet. Never complained before the prices were high pizza appitizer 2 drinks each $88.00, plus tip. We will not be going back anytime soon very disappointing. read more

I have not tried the food here yet but I've been twice to get a drink and see some live music. The open mic nights are great, but just know the place will be packed. I went the other night with two friends. We walked right up to the bar and my male friend was served immediately but then my roommate and I, both women, had to wait about 15 minutes to be served. He also was not carded by the bartender but then the same bartender carded me and my roommate. I noticed she also served him his Nine Pin in a pint glass, while me and my roommate got the same drink but were given it in two (smaller) plastic cups. That is my only complaint otherwise I would've given 4 stars. It's a nice place, just might be hard to get a drink if a certain blonde bartender is working and you're not a man! read more

We stopped in for lunch, the staff was friendly, attentive and actually shared she is a foodie and could not work for someone who didn't have great food! We ordered their pizza, knowing we are definitely pizza snobs (we have our own brick oven) and they DID NOT disappoint....we will be back! First time for everything I guess but everything started off so well. My friend and I selected a high top table that looked nice because it was at a window but not a good thing in sight out the window to view upon. The bartender/waitress; probably more so a bartender asked us what we wanted to drink and gave us our menus with a insert for the daily specials. There were about 5 special items with two soups of the day. I told are server we had a Groupon to use which included food and drink. She was good at recommending things and very accommodating. We were told that all the meat was smoked in their smoker and the burgers were hand packed, very alluring indeed. I was recommended the special the beef brisket; philly style with peppers and onions. My friend ordered the special burger with bacon and blu cheese. My brisket was sliced with thin and served in a hoagie roll roasted a little more than what I would have liked since the edges of the meat were crispy. It may have been ok if it was oozing with cheese because that would been how a original philly is done and the cheese would have held up well during roasting. My friend liked her burger but agreed there could have been more of it but she said it tasted okay.. On the side of both entrees came a side of fries, the fries were very very good. Along with that came a small dish of another side either macaroni, potato salad or coleslaw. We were recommended the Mac salad which was good. I usually pass on dessert but they had a homemade ice cream with cookies, in a jar that I had to try. I enjoyed it and compared it to the recent buy in Massachusetts's of cake in the same kind of jar and thought these to be better but maybe because of the additional ice cream. Service was good until we got the check which she recited the bill totals to us; the price before and after the groupon and walked away with the check in her hand. Felt kind of weird about it all and never had a bill not given to me at any place I ever eaten at before. Maybe she was distracted because other customers came in. The entrees were both $9.99 and we had 3 craft like beers and dessert which was $3.99 each so we figured in our head the total has to be about $48 what she was stating and tipped her accordingly. First visit with my love. Warm cozy rustic environment. Seated ourselves and were promptly greeted by our server taking our beverage orders. Nothing too fancy on the menu but a great selection. I attempted to order deliver as the restaurant is less than 8 miles from my home. they said they do not deliver this far. no mention of being short staffed which would have been more understandable. so we went to pick the food up. waited an hour for the pick up order and just before we arrived home they call back sayin "we" left without a part of the order. We were told we were all set and have a good night before walking out the door. But since they did not give us the complete order we had to turn around to get the food we paid for. We have yet to even try the food which has now been sitting for over an hour because of their mistake. not a great first impression for our first time ordering. read more

I've driven passed The Rustic Barn for the past ten years on my way up north and each time I pass I want to go in. Well, finally we made it in last week and there was a reason I've always felt drawn to this incredibly welcoming space. Warm and inviting was the vibe as we walked in. You know the feeling when you go into a bar as an out-of-towner and the music stops (cue the needle scratch on the record) and everyone stares at you? Well that ain't going to happen here. All friendly vibes here. Plus there's a fireplace raging (in the winter) and live great music. It's a perfect spot to hang out and grab a beer. They also have food on the menu, we didn't eat though. Local beers on tap, I had the Davidson IPA and it was fantastic! It's a local beer from Glens Falls NY. The proprietors were fantastic, friendly and awesome people. I love this place and will definitely return often. read more

We just had a bridal shower at this venue, everyone was amazing and so helpful!! The price was excellent, the amount of food was amazing for the price. Everyone was kind and kept offering if we needed any help with anything else. They even put on the fireplace upstairs for a nice ambiance. We hosted my son's rehearsal dinner at the Rustic Barn. Jodi made the process so easy. Our dinner was a buffet: Caesar salad, rolls, coleslaw, garlic mashed, pulled pork, chicken franchise, macaroni and cheese, and a veggie platter for an appetizer. Also included soda, coffee, and tea. We added on beer and wine. We brought our own desserts. Choice of linen colors was included, as was gratuity. Everything was very good, the chicken was outstanding. The service was wonderful, gracious and attentive. We had access to the room early in the day for decorating and were offered availability the day before! I'd love to have the ability to give the Rustic Barn a 4 1/2 star. Why can't I do that?? The ONLY downfall to the private banquet room was the trek to the bathroom on another floor. Made it difficult for seniors and a guest on crutches. I've posted pictures of the room as we had it decorated. Would highly recommend Rustic Barn for your private event! read more

I almost don't want to Yelp about this place it was that good. I arrived with a girlfriend, she had a groupon thing had to spend $50 and saved $25 that she had to use which is why we came. I cant tell you what its like to be here if its busy because I've been twice now and its been nearly empty. The little ole bartender lady is sweet, and knows whats going on around the barn. Everything was cooked to order. Fresh Salad, hot soups, crispy french fries. We were checked on regularly and drinks were never empty so I suppose it depends on when you decided to eat here on what the atmosphere will be like. Ill be coming back here. I've been here on two different occasions & I absolutely love this venue for the bands they bring in & the food. The food is far above pub grub but reasonably priced. Both times I had the pleasure of being here the place was packed at the bar & dining tables but the service has been outstanding. Jody & her staff never let us down . My husband and father visited the Rustic Barn Pub on a Friday evening around 5 pm. We were the only table, but there were a few of what seemed to be regulars at the bar. Our waitress was very friendly and talkative. My dad ordered the fried pickles and pastrami reuben, hubs ordered the brisket sandwich and I ordered the cuban. Everything came out within reasonable amount of time. The pickle spears were dipped in a tempura style batter and fried GBD and served with a SPICY chipotle aoili. (Although, I am not one to judge spice since I am a WIMP with spice.) The pastrami is house smoked, same with the brisket. Hubs and I both shared each others sammies. My cuban was delicious, although I wish it had a touch more pickle flavor, or yellow mustard. The bread was pressed to crunchy perfection and consisted of a decent amount of meat. The pastrami on my dad's sandwich was absolutely DELICIOUS. My hubs brisket sandwich was very good, but I was hoping for more horseradish flavor and I felt it should have had a bit more meat on it. All of our sandwiches came with the choice of cole slaw or mac salad and all arrived with chips. The cole slaw was good, but the mac salad was even better. I am pretty picky about my cole slaw though. I prefer a hint of onion flavor in it. I enjoyed the real rustic feel of this place. There was a big barn door at the main entrance. The tables are cut slabs of raw wood with exposed edges and tree branch legs. There is also an upstairs, but I did not see it. Apparently the Rustic Barn Pub gets pretty busy in the evenings with live bands playing Friday and Saturday nights. There was a $5 cover charge, but it was waived if you are only staying for dinner. The band was just arriving to set up when we were leaving, around 6:15 pm. I could definitely see myself having a good time here for live music and a few drinks. Next time, I will try the BBQ sampler platter since the waitress said the ribs are pretty popular. I give it 3 stars, for now, due to the A-OK quality food and not getting to enjoy the full experience of what the Rustic Barn Pub has to offer. It's not their fault we went to early, but it did feel a little awkward we were the only table there. read more

Lunch here on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Attractive exterior. Interior is a bit rough. More of a 'pub' and get a beer kind of place than somewhere to take the family, which is fine if that is what you are looking for. I'd describe the Rustic Barn Pub as more a place for adults interested in an adult beverage or two, rather than a family friendly place. The owner is apparently very proud of their "open mic" program, which of course we didn't experience given we were there for lunch but again the open mic would be a for adults thing. We were the only customers having lunch. A couple of people at the bar for an early afternoon brew. Whenever a restaurant has very few customers ordering food, it concerns me. Frankly, only having tso few patrons at all was concerning. Perhaps it was the odd day with no customers? Perhaps it is not a place people go for food? I don't know, but it does always make me wonder both in terms of general quality as well as in terms of turnover of their inventory. Is the food fresh? In terms of what we ordered we had a bit of a mixed experience. Food for one member was average; another perhaps a bit above average, while one member of our party had a hamburger that he did not care for as it had too much smoke flavor. They advertise that they smoke meats, which I'm sure are delicious, but do wonder whether the smoking process or the grilling process is transferring the smoke flavor to other items that it should not. Perhaps a grill that needs better cleaning or isolated areas. After posting my original review, the owner contacted me, which is fair, but the owner's request for me to take down the review crosses the line. This is my honest experience. Others may have different experiences. I'm making my statements based on this visit, as I have documented here. After getting the owner's message, I looked at the reviews, and there really aren't very many, and there are some that rated it even lower than I did. There is also one, where the individual changed their rating after the owner contacted them. So, as the Romans would have said, caveat emptor, and let each patron make their own conclusion from their own experience. read more

Went here on a recent Friday night with my wife and sat at the bar. The first bartender we encountered was very friendly, but seemed annoyed by a drunk at the bar who kept hitting on her. This pace is a drinkers establishment. It was loud, but we were sitting at the bar. We ordered pizza and wings and they were both extra good. We were ready to leave and I presented a Groupon. Unfortunately, I neglected to read the fine print and the Groupon was for lunch only (useless to me) We had been chatting with the manager (I assume) and I complimented her for supporting live music. The live band schedule was packed she seemed proud of it. In the end the manager honored our Groupon without being asked and I thought that was a classy move. It was a Monday eve- real quiet - a few locals at the bar... bartender was excellent.. food was pub fare... but it was excellent- I had chicken philly and my wife had a burger - both were very tasty ... beer was cold and good choice of taps.. would like to see live music sometime.. make it a stop if your ever up that way.. read more

The Rustic Barn has been a local landmark for at least 3 decades. Owners Eric and Judy Rumpler owned this place and sold it to the current owner, Jody B. She has kept the same great atmosphere with one exception, the food. It's outstanding. They now smoke all thier own meat here. They buy it fresh from a local supplier and smoke it on the premises. The owner's father is knowledgeable in smoking meats and has pased this on to thier chef, who has given it his own twist. Pork, brisket, chicken, ribs and pastrami are just the start. Let me tell you the meat is tender....fall off the bone tender. You can taste the smoke in every bite but not over powering! We started with chicken wings, garlic parm & slammer. For dinner my husband had the Piggy Back Slam Burger, with cheese and a generous helping of pulled pork. My understanding was that it, was right on the money! (I speak "fullmouthize") I had the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with coleslaw on top....my favorite way to eat any pulled pork sandwich! Again that great smoked flavor was right there, but not so over powering as to lose the pork and BBQ flavor. Both meals came with sides we chose the fries which were cooked perfect. Nice and crispy on the out side and tender and hot on the inside. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. There's even an open mic night that features local musicians and bands. We found that the music was a bit loud which makes it hard to have conversation with a companion or group of people. (Thats why only 4 stars) This should by no means stop you from coming here. In the summertime there is a deck for enjoying the summer nights. And a private party room upstairs, free of charge and a full catering menu for your next event. We will definitely be back to try thier Pastrami Reubens. This is another favorite of ours...we are already druleing! The owner's are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The service can be slow on busy nights, so sit back and have another beer and enjoy the music! After my original review, I was contacted by one of the managers here. She profusely apologized for our subpar experience and promised to make it up to us; she explained that our waitress had recently recovered from some serious health issues and had probably come back to work sooner than she should have. A second visit proved to be much more enjoyable, and we weren't charged for each iced tea that we drank. I don't know if this was a courtesy just for us, but in any event it definitely satisfied me. Food is good, especially considering this is more of a bar atmosphere. Neat place overall. read more

Not sure why Jamie V. wrote the review below. I was there that night and don't think it's accurate. I watched as a group of 20-30 people came in for a holiday party, without calling ahead or warning to staff. The bartender handled everything and everyone professionally and attentively. They looked very happy to me and I didn't notice anyone complaining. I had to wait a little longer than normal, but it would be expected in that situation. Given the circumstances, I was amazed at the attention everyone received. Not to mention, I had one of the best nights if my life that night. Keep up the great work R.B.!
