Ordered 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches at 10 am for pickup. Told 10:17 ready, arrived at 10:15 was told not ready. Stood in front of cashier for 35 minutes, not one word from her- no ill check, no just a couple minutes. Nothing but blank stare. At 10:50 I ask what up and 5 minutes later out come our sandwiches (btw $30!). Handed me the bag i said that was an hour, got no response just an eye roll and back turn! Eleven years? Has it been that long since I've had a bagel from West End? I don't know why. These are really decent bagels. After reading my last review I think it would be fair to say they have addressed most of my previous comments. The Cinnamon Raisin I had today had a reasonable number of raisins and continued to have a nice amount of cinnamon flavor with a very enjoyable chew. The plain cream cheese I requested on my toasted bagel ($2.95) was proportionally appropriate. My wife's toasted Chocolate Chip bagel with plain cream cheese ($2.95) had just enough chocolate chips to not overpower the enjoyable flavor of the bagel and to also not become a dessert bagel. Two very good cups of coffee from Capital City Coffee Roasters ($2.10 ea.) added to our enjoyment. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. read more

I've been going here at least a decade, ever since it opened. Little by little it definitely has not been what it used to be. Today was the dealbreaker. I got in there at 8:30 AM to pick up my bagel and something to drink before I have to be at work at 9:00 waiting for about 20 minutes and all the people after me had been served so I asked him did you forget my order which they did. So they give me a bag I leave, I get on the road. I open the bag and it's the wrong order. Now I come back and instead of being apologetic The guy gives me an attitude so now I wait another 10 minutes, now its after 9 o'clock and he hands me a bag and looks at me dead eyed saying nothing, like somehow it was my fault. I was not impressed. They were busy when I got in so I tried to understand. A bit of a wait but nothing crazy, grabbed a panini and an iced coffee. Looks like I was jipped one of my eggs but could have been due to the way it was rung up. Not much of anything else a slice or two of turkey, 3 pieces of red pepper. Despite being very busy the line moves quick. Many bagel options left for almost noon on a Sunday. My bagel was okay, I asked for an egg everything and received a plain egg. The bacon scallion cream cheese did not cut it for me, didn't have enough of those two flavor profiles in it. But overall, I enjoyed it. As busy as it was they still have tables to sit at that felt comfortable and roomy which is a plus. I would definitely come back to try one of their killer sounding paninis. read more

Bagels are the best I've had outside of NYC....but that's the only good thing I can say about this place. It's chaos inside! They need a system for ordering and pickup. They have signs but not the right ones. They need people at the registers that know what they're doing and that requires training! Eye rolls by the guy on the other register are not helpful! They were out of their house blend coffee at 10:20 a.m. and the half and half was empty! It is very apparent that their call-in business is the priority. "In the weeds" is the best way to describe this breakfast experience! A lot to put up with before you've had your morning coffee!! I'm tempted to go back in and order a half dozen of their amazing bagels for visiting family coming tomorrow from Brooklyn, but I have to give it a day for the PTSD to subside! They are a weekly staple of my work week.If you fancy a bagel with a schmear, then get here. The bagels are freshly made daily, the fixings are fresh and delicious, and they CARE about the heat they do. The staff is always helpful and professional. The vibes are always good. Their coffee is delicious and not watery guck(I said what I said). My favorite is the Lox Supreme. I get a toasted plain bagel or a wagel if I'm feeling funky with the pimento olive cream cheese, extra capers, their delicious lox tomato and onion. I also loooove their paninis, my personal fave being the Manhattanite, which is Roast Beef Cheddar and Horseradish panini. And the sandwiches hold up til lunchtime. I promise. 30 seconds in the microwave and boom ready to go. A meeting place for my prior boss and I to discuss work and catch up with each other. We both live in Clifton Park and this would make it the most convenient location with some simple buy good food. When on work, I refrain from taking pictures of food. Hopefully, I'll visit this place for a personal reason once and upload some pictures. I've always gotten my bagels here as they do not disappoint. They are freshly made and reasonably priced. The selection is quite good as they always have the bagel flavors that I am looking for! However on occasion they have been a bit doughy and less baked and crisp. I think consistency is always key but I would still give them a try! read more

WHEN: Monday @ 11am There was a line at the register area, thought it was the order line but it was not. People were waiting on their food. The order line is at where the bagels are displayed. The staff will come up to you to take your order there. Then you go to the register area to pay for your order. It was a quick and efficient process. It took roughly 5-10min in and out the door. All bagels are made fresh and toasted all day. I like their very soft bagels compared to other bagel shops. i went ~1:30 on a tues and there was a very short line. the service was pleasant and fast. i got a blt on the rainbow bagel (which is just a slightly softer rainbow colored plain bagel, exactly what i was looking for). the bacon was cooked very well, hot and crisp. lettuce was a little lackluster, tomato was good, and the bagel had a great texture. for being rather late in the day, they still had a good selection of bagels left. read more

This is one of the most inefficient and poorly run establishments I have ever witnessed. If you have infinite time on your hands to wait for a simple bagel, then this is the place for you ! Have tried this place multiple times and today I can say for certain will be the last. Given past experiences, I know that ordering there and waiting for your order will take no short of an eternity, I decided to mobile order today. There is a sign that says for mobile orders, see cashier. So I wait, and I wait, obviously it defies all logical sense to wait in the ordering line to ask the cashier for a mobile order, I waited patiently to the side. After about seven minutes, a guy in a full reflective snow suit cuts right in front of me and rudely screams the name on his order. The girl behind the counter immediately helps him. I stepped up and said my name as well and she glares at me as though I did something wrong. I explained that I had been waiting much longer than reflective snowsuit man and she takes a very patronizing tone and says "yes I will help you too." Then rude snowsuit man tells me there is no line you just have to yell the order name, which sounds insane to me. I guess since I am not spending my Sundays delivering Grubhub on a bicycle in a full reflective snowsuit, I didn't know that. RUDE staff, inefficient, nonsensical and illogical ordering practices...... we could have been in and out of uncommon grounds in a fraction of the time, and not have had to deal with the bad attitude of the staff at West End bagels and their rude regular in the snowsuit. I really, really, really want to like this place... The bagels are decent, and the sandwiches are good, they have all of the right ingredients. However, the service always seems to be lacking... They never seem to have enough people working, but there is always a sign looking for help in the window. I don't know what that means... Could be many things. All I know is that sometimes it takes forever to get your order, and there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason on how the lines work. Often there are customers milling about not knowing where to stand. Today I ordered three things - two bagels with cream cheese, and one bagel in a bag... Not even cut. One bagel had the wrong cream cheese (jalapeño is tough sell unless you like it), and they put the wrong individual bagel in the bag. But, as far as the bagels come, very very good... Good size, good chew, good crispiness. I hope the service catches up to how good the bagels are. read more

The bagels are the best in the area but some improvements can be made to improve wait times and customer service! Maybe have one person handle cream cheese orders so you don't have to wait for all the meat and egg sandwiches ordered before you and maybe teach the staff some soft skills. I literally watch one girl roll her eyes at a customer who kept being told "just another minute" for over 5 minutes. Dude, I've been to some NYC bagelries that sucked. This place soooooooo does not suck. Just head over and try out their bagels and be your own judge. Seriously. Yesterday morn, I ordered an awesome sausage, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel breakfast sammich. Melty cheese, toasty onions, soft and cushy interior to the bagel, all served nice and hot. And they deliver your food items right to your table! Nice touch y'all! They must have at least a dozen different bagel flavors, including a whole wheat everything (which I took home along with 5 other flavors)! Soooo money. They've got like 13 flavors of homemade cream cheese (I took home some homemade chive---which was Gnarls Barkley good). Prices are super reasonable and they of course serve coffee, sides like different kinds of salads, pannini, and Boar's Head meat bagel sammiches. This place is just good lovin'. The best bagel place in the Albany and surrounding areas by far, and definitely in Clifton Park. There is a reason why the weekend mornings are packed with the old, young and those wanting to start their day off on the right foot. Bagels are so soft and pillowy, delicious and compliment what goes in it. They're not thick and dense and doesn't sit like a rock of gluten in your belly. There may be a wait on weekends but it is definitely worth it. May be expensive but for the tastiness and quality of these bagels, I don't think too many people complain. Brueggers bagel sandwiches are pretty comparable in price but don't hold up to West End Bagels. MUST TRY AT LEAST ONCE- YOU WONT WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE! read more

Ok, I'm from Brooklyn, NY which, along with the best Pizza on earth, also has the best bagels. When I moved to Clifton Park and discovered West End, I was amazed. I'll put their bagels, especially the onion bagel, which is my favorite, up with any bagel I've had from Brooklyn or Staten island. And the cream cheese? The best I've ever had. No contest. Add on my wife's favorite, the vegetable cream cheese, and the lox supreme on a bagel. Simply great. Totally recommended. And the staff are always polite and friendly. P. S. If you like coffee... We went to here because of the convenience of not having to make our own breakfast. I order 3 bacon egg and cheese bagels with large coffees. Another person in our group ordered a panini with a large coffee. It was about 11:00 yesterday morning (Sunday). I went to put half and half half in my coffee and commented to my daughter that the cup look like a medium. The other person from our party came with his large coffee and I realized we did get medium coffee's. I went back to the ordering counter and I mentioned this and the girl gladly put them in the large cups. I went back to the counter to put the half-and-half in, and it was empty. I went back to the ordering counter and the blonde girl, so they don't have anymore. I I asked how is it that you don't have any half-and-half and it's still morning? She just confirmed that they don't have any. I said OK fine thank you then I went back to my party as we waited for our sandwiches. In the meantime, the other girl gave me a half a gallon of half-and-half that she found. So I filled up the carafe and gave her the rest the one person in our group ordered a sandwich with a bunch of meat, they were out of the Cabra cola, so he ordered another sandwich. Fast forward to when we got home. I pulled out the three bacon cheese and egg sandwiches. I've never been so disappointed with the bagel so much of my life. I will say the bagel was good, but it was a very very skimpy had a one egg smashed so thin. Mine had no cheese and seriously wasn't even one slice of bacon for the whole sandwich. I can't believe it with the price I paid for those sandwiches, I would've thought they would've been a little bit more bacon or egg and even cheese. The photo below had way more bacon than the eaten half, my eaten half had about an inch. I don't think this place will be in business within the year. The prices are high, and there's major skipping on the ingredients, I can see they're struggling. I don't mind paying a lot for food, but at least I want to enjoy the sandwich. I should've taken a picture of the whole sandwich, but I didn't think of it until after I ate the first half, but I certainly won't be returning.
