bún bò huế with spare rib

Being Vietnamese, I don't play around when it comes to pho. After seeing great reviews, we tried Saigon Spring--bún bò huế with spare rib and phở tái. The herb plate was sad: one wilted basil sprig and old bean sprouts. Had to track down sauces myself. Service wasn't friendly or attentive. For $50, this was a very mediocre experience. Definitely not worth the hype.

Delicious every single time. So many fresh and healthy options. Wok pho is my favorite and I get it nearly every time. They put a lot of love in their dishes. Best Thai iced tea in Clifton park. The staff are all so kind, professional, and dedicated. They and give great recommendations if you are unsure of what to get. The ambiance encourages conversation for guests because it is quiet and peaceful. The booths are comfortable place to chat. Overall a very relaxing restaurant! Worth a visit.

This is our go to pho place in Clifton Park. The pho is pretty consistent. Price is reasonable. Fast service. The restaurant can accommodate a big group.

Look for these on your way out. YUM!

We've always enjoyed our meals at Saigon Spring. It is a favorite location for us to order Pho. On this Sunday we both had an interest in trying something different. I had a craving for seafood and spied their Coconut Seafood ($28) on the menu. A combination of shrimp and scallops on a bed of spring onion, bean sprouts, cucumber, mint, lettuce, and rice vermicelli noodles sounded so delicious. It was! The sweetened clear sauce in the bottom of the dish was good enough to drink by itself. While the shrimp were slightly overcooked, the scallops were perfectly cooked. Overall, a very enjoyable dish. My wife ordered the Shrimp Summer Rolls ($10) for us to share, and they were excellent, as usual. For her dinner, she had the Shredded Tofu and Thick Vermicelli Noodles ($17). Its sauteed tofu slices were served with braised gluten, carrots, yellow onion, and spring onion, served on a bed of vermicelli noodles with bean sprouts, cucumber, mint, and lettuce. Her clear sauce was different than what I had on my dish, it was not sweet, but it was just as desirable to want to drink. Service was very prompt and efficient. I'm adding that last star to my rating because they had something available that I haven't seen in a restaurant in quite some time - toothpicks, individually wrapped on the counter as we were leaving. They were right next to the lollipops and the Kopiko candies. BTW, Kopiko candies are worth a half-star all on their own.

Okay so this is the 3rd time that I have eaten at this restaurant. I was able to have a lunch meeting here recently and slightly reluctantly after my previous 2 experiences being pretty poor. The last two times I went were for dinner service though. Not sure if there is a difference in staff between lunch and dinner but the stark difference must come from somewhere. It definitely had a respectable lunchtime crowd, not filled but not empty either. The ambience and decor is a bit dated and drab but I typically always look over that if the food is good, because honestly that's what I care about most. But anywho, I was prepared to write a poor review after that meeting but boy did they surprise me! The only snag I would say would be that it took our server a much longer time to greet our table and take a drink order than is appropriate. But minus that I ordered an excellently flavored Thai iced tea and a grilled curry shrimp dish with roasted peanuts over vermicelli rice noodles complete with an incredibly tasty and intensely crispy spring roll! All the menu items are written in Vietnamese so I will try my best to label everything correctly. My clients both order the shrimp Pho. The broth was delicately flavored and delicious and came with a plate full of condiments. The remainder of service was fast, efficient and friendly! After not being able to recommend this place in the past based on my previous 2 experiences, I am happy to recommend it now! Some very tasty food here people! Give it a try and let me know what you think!

This restaurant is a hidden gem and why fight Saratoga when you can eat here? Authenticity confirmed with Vietnamese friends and each of our choices were great. Super service. Pleasant atmosphere and real go to choice. Bring the kids

    Bun bo hue

Very decent Vietnamese food in the area. Grilled chicken and rice were really good. The Pho is really good also. One of the better broths compared with other places. The bun bo hue was the weakest bowl of noodles. It's missing flavor and bland. Service was fast and friendly staffs. I would go back again if I am around the area.

Excellent crispy half chicken. Pho is amazing. Pretty good spicy lemongrass chicken... but not very spicy and sauce was cornstarch gooey.

Inside it is vibrant, with a staff that is warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Ordering was easy. You can choose hot pot, bbq, or both! Each table has an iPad so you can order refills of all the delicious meats, seafood, and vegetables. There is a huge variety of items to choose from. The beauty of it is that you can try a little bit of everything. For the hot pot there are an unheard of 5 different broths available. I went with the original, my husband, had the chicken, my eldest the medium spicy, and my youngest had the miso. All were flavorful and delicious. Essence of cream cheese and crab in the rangoons, "dumplings" were certainly not gyoza. All of the items tasted like they came out a box. The scallion pancake was disastrous. The lamb kebabs were charred and inedible. Will continue the search for edible food in Albany!

I'll admit to having kind of written it off for a long time due to the weird menu/concept (it's hard to trust that a restaurant is going to serve you a burger, some empanadas and a plate of pad Thai and execute any or all of them competently), but the good people at Fusion are serving food that's truly, honestly about three times better than it needs to be (caveat: we've stuck to the more Asian sections of the menu, so I won't make any bold claims about the burgers). The Chinese portion of our family unit said that my drunken noodles reminded him of the stuff that a street vendor sold outside of his middle school, which like, IYKYK (if you don't know, this is about the highest praise a plate of noodles can get). I'm not normally a major pad Thai enthusiast, but the version here was well-balanced and flavorful, not just kind of sweet and gloppy like a lot of local versions, and the broth for the chicken noodle soup is also truly random-SE Asian-street-cart level flavorful. If that wasn't enough to sell you on this place, the draft Sapporo is five bucks. In conclusion: please come here support these nice folks so they can continue to make above-par food for many years to come.

I will admit at first I was a little nervous, the restaurant only had a total of four menus so we had to share, and we were told the bartender hadn't showed up that day. Nonetheless, I immediately got a good vibe from the guy working there. The menu had a Colombian section, a burger section and an Asian section. We all stuck with Asian dishes. It quickly became clear that the guy taking our order was the only one working. He got to work making the meals for six people. While he was cooking away, another large group of at least seven people arrived and sat themselves. You'd never know there was one guy doing everything all alone because the food was beautifully presented, all dishes were served together and man was it delicious! Everyone was very happy with their meals and we all got a variety of dishes. This is clearly a small business and definitely worth checking out. The one guy there was working so hard, but was so friendly and still attentive, despite manning the place alone. I will definitely be back to try out more
