Ever been to Thailand? Well, I have! If you don't feel like flying halfway across the world for some authentic Thai cuisine, I highly suggest visiting Pad Thai Noodle. Green curry? Check! We ordered mild for the more spice resistant of the two of us (with sides of chili paste and powder for yours truly). Flavors were spot on-served piping hot (temperature) in very generous portions. Drunken noodle? Check! These rice noodles are not as broad as some other local Thai places but again-a very large portion with a perfect balance of savory, salty and sweet (also ordered mild for this first visit). Absolutely delicious....oh how I love the gumminess of a good rice noodle. The summer rolls were also great. We tried them with crab instead of our usual choice of shrimp (avocado was also an option). They're served with a peanut sprinkled hoisin sauce and a second peanut sauce. Again-nice sized portion with super fresh ingredients. Almost forgot-we did try a salmon avocado roll to sample the sushi-it was also great. But we wanted to focus on the Thai options. Not pictured but tasted (bc I dove in and scarfed without pausing for photos!): -Larb salmon: I've only had chicken and vegetarian versions of Larb (sometimes spelled Lahb); the salmon (raw) was one of the best things I've tried in a while. The red onions, scallions, rice powder, vinegar, chilies and fish sauce make this the ultimate umami experience that I can't wait to have again. -mango sticky rice: perfection. Ripe mango cut into cubes with sticky, sweet (and slightly crunchy) rice drenched in coconut milk sauce. I'm drooling as I write this. In case you don't now, the original version of this family owned and run restaurant had a terrible explosion/fire and underwent renovations last year. They took over the space next door and expanded the dining room area. It's light, bright and welcoming. Service was awesome-friendly and super fast. The menu is also extensive. I was initially overwhelmed by the choices so we stuck to the basics. Can't wait to go back and try more! read more

Back in Albany after a long hiatus, and tired but hungry after 8 hours of travel starting at 3am. Have a stomach bug so curry is always my answer. This place is rated one of the best Thai in the region. Was meaning to try it but they had an unfortunate fire last time was in town. Lucky for me they recovered and are up and serving some of the best Thai food. I ordered the Pad Thai noodle with chicken and Thai spicy. Also ordered the Massaman Curry with beef also Thai Spicy. They hit a home-run on the spice. Often times others fail on thai spicy afraid the customer cannot handle it. It was perfect. This has been my favorite Thai spot in the Albany area for a long time and I am so excited for it to be back and just as delicious after having to basically start over. I find the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and they are very responsive to any dietary changes needed. My only critique would be that I find sometimes the spice level to be inconsistent. I can order the same dish at the same spice level on two separate occasions and have significantly different experiences with the spice level. However, I will say the staff are even very accommodating with this and have given me the spice blend on the side to adjust to my level of preference. I have only gotten takeout from here and have not experienced dining in the space but it is always very clean and I love the first impression you get with the greenery on the wall right when you walk in! I have missed this place so much. It just reopened after a devastating fire completely destroyed the building into rubble a little over a year ago. They rebuilt and the restaurant is so much bigger than it once was. Instead of take out or delivery, we went for dinner to check out the new digs. It's so bright and new. I was so happy to order my favorite apps and dishes. I even tried one of their specialty teas, Tea Lover. It was amazing! Oh how I've missed the spring rolls and chicken satay. Absolutely delicious. I order medium spice, which is pretty spicy! So good. I also ordered my favorite dish, shrimp pad Thai. I tried it with crispy shrimp this time. Very good but I prefer regular shrimp. Plenty for lunch tomorrow too! My dinner mate got the Tom Kha soup and a summer roll and she also got a specialty tea, Taro Thai Tea. I had a little taste of the tea and it was also amazing. Yumminess! I was craving for Thai food. Me and my friend went here for my birthday. I ordered the Pad See Ewe. It is soo good! I cant stop eating It looks pale and the noodles are thin (im used to seeing the thick noodles) but it has the right flavor and sweetness. Also they can adjust the spiciness. Tom Yum is the best! I could eat it everyday. Love the spiciness and the sourness which are not too overpowering! It's a small place but clean. And they have very good service. Hadn't been here in 3 years and things have changed. What I remember as a simple but pleasant dining room is now 1/3 filled with crates of coconut milk and I was the only dine-in though there was a lot of takeout business. I ordered the now-$11 lunch special panang curry, and asked for it extra spicy with chicken and a spring roll vs dumplings. It was delivered with dumplings, not spring roll, no fork and no napkin. Also no inquiry as to whether I would like a beverage other than water. The server was pleasant but not into seeing if my meal was ok. One of the best Pad Thai noodles in the area! Lunch specials come with salad and either dumplings or a spring roll and are decent portions. The wings have the perfect crisp to them. Service is quick if dining in, there are only a few tables though. There is additional parking in the back if the front lot is full. After driving a few hours at night in the pouring rain during a long 5-6 hour drive and needing a bite before checking in late to a hotel to take a break from driving, we highly craved and anticipated some Thai food hoping we'd get something to fulfill it. While some of the food we got was good, we were pretty disappointed as a whole. I read the reviews for Pad Thai Noodle and got excited but noticed a clear difference between eating in person versus takeout. Looking at the time on our GPS and comparing to the closing time, maybe we could've made it for a quick dine in. We called in advance and asked if they're still open and what time is last seating. They said 9:30 and we thought we were good since our ETA was 9:00. However we were told upon arrival dine in was closing and takeout only. We were okay with that given we wanted to get to the hotel anyway. But wish we had known that earlier so we could've ordered online. Luckily we didn't wait too long for our order. I ordered Crispy Chicken pad see ew. Not only was it not crispy chicken topped on the order, some of the noodles were not fully cooked and hard. My husband ordered curry but we found it difficult with the way takeout is packaged to try to maneuver the curry other than dumping the entire package of rice into the curry container; we totally didn't realize hotel wouldn't have bowls or plates. No napkins were included and luckily I had some in the car. Finally the only good items were the coconut shrimp and the Thai ice tea. In fact the sauce from the coconut shrimp I had to pour onto the pad see ew to make the cooked parts of it a little easier to endure. I'm fairly disappointed and wonder if it could've been better had we gotten to sit down. The amount we paid absolutely did not match the quality. It was very alright but I hope that the takeout experience could be better by having clearer communication on dine in vs takeout closure, more attention to details, and more attention to quality consistency. At first we did not like this spot but we ordered wrong! The Tom Yum spices soup has a nice sour spice authentic flavours. The Larb Gai is drenched with lime, basil, kafir strips and lots of spice. I see why This is Daniel B.'s fave spot =P. As far as fried calamari and drunken noodle is not good-grease under flavoured (my other Thai spot where I'm a duchess is top around here). I've been to Thailand and this food is quite authentic. It's light and flavorful. For Americans new to Thai, this restaurant doesn't diminish it's spice level from typical Thai spice-levels which means you'll want to ask for a level of spice below that which you're used to at other places. The interior of the restaurant is clean and well maintained. It wasn't as upscale as I'd like, but I felt comfortable being inside while picking up my order. The service was fast, friendly, and competent. I ordered 15 minutes in advance, and it was ready when I arrived. The takeout came packaged well and didn't spill unnecessarily in the car. My only qualm was that it's located next to a dispensary with a big "CBD" sign on the windows. I'd recommend the following. The storefront was very nondescript. Except for the street side sign, there's no sign on the façade itself, nor a window sign, so I wasn't even sure it was a food service business there. The BEST! I JUST LOVED IT! One of the best food experiences I've had since moving up here from NYC! The Bangkok chicken is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I will say that they could do more to make sure the chicken doesn't get dried out, some pieces had a chewy quality to it. But not enough of an issue for me to knock them for it. The taste and flavor is just SOO ON POINT! They could give you a bit more chicken with your order for the price you're paying (felt like their was too much onions and peppers packed it, where they could've had more chicken) but it was still such a pleasant experience taste wise. How have I not been here before? It's relatively close to home. It's moderately priced. The food is delicious. Service is friendly. The dining room is brightly colored and inviting. The only odd thing is that it's on a rarely traveled strip of Everett Road. When I first walked in, I was a little nervous because there was nobody else sitting down at tables. Everyone seemed to be getting orders for takeout. However, once we ordered and the food hit the grill, the fragrant aromas of Thai cooking filled the air. It instilled within me a great hope for what was to come. This first outing was to be just dipping my toe in the waters of the restaurant. My original plan was to try the Pad Thai and split it with my daughter who has no memory of ever trying the dish before. Given the name of the restaurant, how could I resist. But resist I did. The two of us had eating a bunch of ice cream before dinner--oops--and we weren't all that hungry. She loves chicken skewers and was delighted by the chicken satay with peanut sauce. And I was looking forward to trying the beef salad, cranked up to the maximum heat level (four of four). Each of us was happy with our meals. My daughter really enjoyed the peanut sauce. Who doesn't love Thai peanut sauce. The beef salad was spicy enough to give me the sweats. It burned so good. Not just with heat, but also with the pungent flavor of fish sauce, and the brightness of lime. It was a push, but I ate every last bite. And as we ate, the dining room filled up with other customers, sitting down to enjoy their own dinners. One dish went by with something that looked like fried basil, and the colors of the flash fried leaves were amazing. I should have asked about the dish. But the one waitress was hustling to serve all the tables, and I didn't want to distract her from running the dining room. In short: a good option for Thai food locally that actually provides some heat, though the massive menu means wading through a bunch of potential pitfalls before you hit the good stuff. The definite highlight was the spicy Bangkok noodle soup (at a medium, one of the spiciest things I've ever encountered in the Albany area: definitely go for mild if you're spice-sensitive!), which was super flavorful and in a generous serving, with lots of goodies piled on top. The salad and pad grapao were both perfectly fine: not exactly what I was hoping for (pad gra pao around here seems like it's pretty consistently a different dish than what I think of as the classic version) but tasty enough. The soft shell crab was dry and tasted mostly like fryer oil. I'm listing more bads and mediocres than goods here, but the fact that "noodle" is right in the name makes me think that sticking with the noodle dishes like that great noodle soup would make for a reliably great dinner. I definitely want to explore more of that side of the menu soon. read more

I've ordered from here before and the food is your typical takeout. Its probably a better experience eating in. That said we ordered , chicken satay which came 4 pieces to an order and served in a foil bag. The bag was full of steam and even a small pool of water in the bottom but that didn't help the chicken which I think was breast meat. It was terribly dried out. Marinated in coconut milk and served with 2 dipping sauces, it was tasty but I'm not sure I'd order it again at $8. Next we had Pad see ew with chicken. The noodles soaked up the sauce and stuck together. It had nice carrots and broccoli in it and a few large pieces of flattened chicken breast. This was ok but didn't really translate well to take out. Ben ordered Bangkok chicken which was sweet and crispy with bell peppers, pineapple and cashews. I enjoyed his dish a lot more than mine but it would've been better with rice instead of rice noodles which again just clumped together with no sauce on them. The last thing we ordered was mango sticky rice and a large Thai tea less sweet. The sticky rice was good and so was the mango although not as bright and acidic as some other mangos I've had. The Thai tea did not taste less sweet and the large just looked normal to me seemed a little pricey. All in all this is a nice little local restaurant which is gladly welcomed amongst all the nearby chains on Wolf Rd. read more

Pad Thai- one of the most flavorful pad Thais I've ever had. It was very savory yet still had a sweet traditional flavor. The noodles are soft and absorbed the sauce well. There was a good ratio of noodles to vegetables and shrimp. Mango Curry- very savory again! The mangos had a more subtle flavor than I anticipated, but it worked. The mangos were a good variety of texture and color while providing a bit of sweetness without overpowering the curry. Also the dish comes with rice! Tom Yum Noodle soup- I've never had Tom Yum soup that came with noodles before but I enjoyed it! This Tom Yum Soup was not the typical sour tasting soup I usually have. This was much more savory again. I really enjoyed it though! There were a good amount of noodles too! This place is definitely a hidden gem. The portion sizes are a bit smaller than other places in the area like Sukhothai but the food is very high quality and makes up for the difference. read more

What a wonderful surprise! Went to doc appt and found Pad Thai Noodle Restaurant only a few miles away. Being from west coast, very familiar with Asian cuisine and their flavors.
