This has been my favorite Thai spot in the Albany area for a long time and I am so excited for it to be back and just as delicious after having to basically start over. I find the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and they are very responsive to any dietary changes needed. My only critique would be that I find sometimes the spice level to be inconsistent. I can order the same dish at the same spice level on two separate occasions and have significantly different experiences with the spice level. However, I will say the staff are even very accommodating with this and have given me the spice blend on the side to adjust to my level of preference. I have only gotten takeout from here and have not experienced dining in the space but it is always very clean and I love the first impression you get with the greenery on the wall right when you walk in! Excellent food, great people.

I have missed this place so much. It just reopened after a devastating fire completely destroyed the building into rubble a little over a year ago. They rebuilt and the restaurant is so much bigger than it once was. Instead of take out or delivery, we went for dinner to check out the new digs. It's so bright and new. I was so happy to order my favorite apps and dishes. I even tried one of their specialty teas, Tea Lover. It was amazing! Oh how I've missed the spring rolls and chicken satay. Absolutely delicious. I order medium spice, which is pretty spicy! So good. I also ordered my favorite dish, shrimp pad Thai. I tried it with crispy shrimp this time. Very good but I prefer regular shrimp. Plenty for lunch tomorrow too! My dinner mate got the Tom Kha soup and a summer roll and she also got a specialty tea, Taro Thai Tea. I had a little taste of the tea and it was also amazing. This is a family run business and they are the nicest people. Super friendly and they love what they do. They are masters of their craft. Congrats for coming back stronger than ever!

Extremely friendly service, very clean. I'm super happy this place is finally open again! Great food if a little pricey for takeout. Worth every penny though! Support local businesses like this!

Delicious authentic Thai restaurant. Many choices to choose from. The service is great and the food comes out quickly and hot! I ordered the medium heat and it's spicy but not too spicy. My nose ran a little, lol Small indoor seating. I highly recommend!

Authentic Thai with fast service. The Som Tom or Papaya Salad was over the top good. Nested in a real Thai feeling setting.

Yumminess! I was craving for Thai food. Me and my friend went here for my birthday. I ordered the Pad See Ewe. It is soo good! I cant stop eating It looks pale and the noodles are thin (im used to seeing the thick noodles) but it has the right flavor and sweetness. Also they can adjust the spiciness. Tom Yum is the best! I could eat it everyday. Love the spiciness and the sourness which are not too overpowering! It's a small place but clean. And they have very good service. Parking is small it can accommodate only abt 4 cars.

Parang curry.lunch special, a bit skimpy on the protein.

Hadn't been here in 3 years and things have changed. What I remember as a simple but pleasant dining room is now 1/3 filled with crates of coconut milk and I was the only dine-in though there was a lot of takeout business. I ordered the now-$11 lunch special panang curry, and asked for it extra spicy with chicken and a spring roll vs dumplings. It was delivered with dumplings, not spring roll, no fork and no napkin. Also no inquiry as to whether I would like a beverage other than water. The server was pleasant but not into seeing if my meal was ok. I think they have changed to a takeout model and are not really promoting dine in any more. The curry was ok (and definitely spicy) but skimpy on the protein. See my photo.

One of the best Pad Thai noodles in the area! Lunch specials come with salad and either dumplings or a spring roll and are decent portions. The wings have the perfect crisp to them. Service is quick if dining in, there are only a few tables though. There is additional parking in the back if the front lot is full. Inside, there are some wall decor of Thailand and a Thai snack station by the register. We love going here!

The. Best. Thai food. Seriously the best we've found on the east coast between New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont! So far, we've tried and loved the masuman curry with tofu, chicken pad Thai, pad se ew with chicken, chicken satay, and spring rolls.

At first we did not like this spot but we ordered wrong! The Tom Yum spices soup has a nice sour spice authentic flavours. The Larb Gai is drenched with lime, basil, kafir strips and lots of spice. I see why This is Daniel B.'s fave spot =P. As far as fried calamari and drunken noodle is not good-grease under flavoured (my other Thai spot where I'm a duchess is top around here). Anyways, we go here when we need specific dishes so give it a try!

Our waitress also had the perfect mix of attentiveness and letting us enjoy our time which made for a very relaxing lunch. The iced tea was sweet but with a nice warm spice. The dumplings were packed with filling. The noodles for the pad Thai were light and not greasy. I've had pad Thai other places that came in a pool of grease. This is like elevated modern Thai in a chic environment. The aesthetic inside is the perfect vibe, I love the dark greens and florals. The lighting was perfect for photos too, so instagram-able. The bar was gorgeous and so were the drinks, and they were incredible too. I ordered the lychee martini but subbed the vodka for gin. I am not a sweet drink girlie but I love a lychee martini, and this was the best I ever had. I also ordered the Oliang Martini which was just like an espresso martini but a little more bold, delicious. The coconut mojito was also gorgeous and my sister ordered two. Great spot for cocktails. We wanted to try so many things, and we did, with plenty of left overs. I had never really been to a Thai restaurant but I knew enough to know I wanted to try Tom Kha. I love soup of all kinds and this was no exception, I worry I will crave this all the time. The creamy, savory and slightly sour taste was addicting. For other apps we tried the golden dumplings which were perfectly moist and flavorful inside, with the crispy wonton crust you love. We also tried the shrimp donuts, these were good but a little on the spongy side, so the texture wasn't really my thing. We also ordered the chive cakes, which were like cube shaped scallion pancakes. I honestly was full at this point, but everything was so delicious and I love left overs. For entrees, I had to order the pad Thai because I never had it. I got it with beef and it was such a delicious dish. The noodles were the perfect texture and it was flavor packed. We ordered mild in all dishes, and they still had a kick, which I loved. We also had crab fried rice, perfectly fluffy and light. Crispy duck curry, insane dish that I would love to order at a future visit, and the pad see u noodles. I honestly have nothing bad to say. This is a new hot spot. Vibe is immaculate. Cocktails are noteworthy. The food matches the experience. Price is on par with similar caliber restaurants locally, I wouldn't consider it a cheap night out. Come here to splurge a little on a great experience.

Tamarind Thai in Latham is one of my favorite Thai restaurants!…read more There are several dishes that are already "accidentally vegan" meaning it is a plant-based meal that doesn't include any animal products like eggs, butter, dairy milk, seasoning or sauces made from seafood or mollusks. Their curry dishes are all accidentally vegan, and you can keep them vegan when you add a protein by choosing either steamed or fried tofu. The staff is so polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and can help you customize your meals if you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or have any other food sensitivities. On this visit they were decorated for the holidays. Beautiful red, silver, and white balls hung from the ceiling, string lights, pine garland, and a flocked Christmas tree in the front window all made the restaurant cozy and inviting. I had the curry fried rice with spring rolls and unsweetened iced tea and my husband had the hot vegetables entree with white rice and a side of sticky rice.

Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out. The spring rolls, the gyoza, the crazy noodle (drunken noodle), curry rice, fresh rolls, all of it has been good everytime we go. This review is long overdue, Tamarind is just so good if you need vegan or vegetarian options they have a lot of plant-based menu items. The unsweetened iced tea, that's my jam! Love it!

Not only does it have excellent Thai food, it also has one page of their menu offering Korean choices. There are separate lunch and dinner menus. Both menus are easy to navigate and clearly written. Their menus state designated spicy dishes can be modified on a scale of 1 to 5. There are numerous lunch specials offered. They come with miso soup or green salad. The waitress (owner?) was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started with Spring Rolls and tea. Tea bags were placed in large mugs. I would have preferred a pot of brewed tea and small handleless cups offered at a few other places. We ordered lunch specials: Drunken Noodles with Tofu and Pang Kamee with Chicken. The soup broth was flavorful but could have had more tofu pieces. The Spring Rolls were average. My Pang Kamee was seasoned perfectly. Very tasty, it was seasoned nicely with spices, but not hot. I liked the perfectly cooked wide noodles and thinly sliced carrots. The chicken was moist and tender. The Drunken Noodles was also enjoyed by my daughter. What was exceptional about it was the Tofu! There were large pieces of tofu that were sautéed or grilled slightly. Delicious! Best tofu she has eaten in a long time. Our portions were generous, and both meals were finished because they were tasty. The restaurant has nine uncrowded tables and does a lot of takeout.
