I ordered take out and it was ready quickly. Parking was easy and the place was clean. I got the steamed gyoza and spicy gyu ramen with enoki mushrooms. The food was incredible! I cannot wait to go back and try something different.
Small ramen spot off Wolf Road. There a a few booths inside and alot of business appears to be take away. The cooler has an assortment of bubble tea tea beers sodas and juice. The C Town pulled pork buns were amazing, inside very juicy pork with small sliced green onion, Outside perfect fluffy warm bun. We both ordered Spicy Gyu Ramen. The beef was dry in both our dishes. The bowls were served piping hot with tons of bamboo cilantro onion and noodles. The spice level was a six out of ten. There was also a birria Ramen special I want to try next.
I really enjoy Kuma Ani for a quick bite. They have a handful of meat-free noodle and ramen options that are all delicious. The peanut mein is probably my favorite dish, I like the chewiness of the noodle and the peanut sauce has a nice balanced peanuty and rice vinegary flavor. Having the option to have a little alcoholic beverage is great. The service is fast and friendly, the space is usually very clean. I like sitting out on the patio if the weather is good. Overall, I think Kuma Ani is a great spot!
As always great customer service, clean restaurant counter and rest rooms and fantastic Ramen!! Recently, we've been traveling around the US and yet to find a decent Ramen really let alone to even be considered Ramen compared what is made here with Fresh homemade Ramen noodles, Fresh Vegetables, etc!! Even the fried Tofu is fried to perfection!! Thank you everyone at KUMA ANI making this sodium salt restricted woman happy!! My DH gets his on the spicy side! Let it be known they will make it really spicy for you if you ask!

The service was great, if you have questions about the menu, ingredients, or customizations they are super helpful. Kuma Ani is a Japanese eatery with delicious options for a quick meal in a laid-back atmosphere! I've been here a few times, and everything I've tried so far has been fantastic. We've had the Karaagedon, Curry Chicken Ramen, Spicy Gyu Ramen, Ultimate Tonkotsu Ramen, Curry Don, and the Zha Jiang Mein. Every dish is packed with incredible flavors, perfectly cooked, and the beef is always SO tender. My boyfriend's go to is the Spicy Gyu, but I still need to try more to figure out my favorite! I also appreciate how beautifully they present the food ^_^ They also offer a Build-Your-Own (BYO) ramen option, which I'm yet to try. We've ordered takeout from them before, and the food was packed securely with no spills. I was worried about the ramen, but it arrived warm and intact! The staff is incredibly sweet and friendly, especially the lady at the front--she's so adorable and always mindful of the customers. I love when she calls me "dear," it always makes me smile hehe The relaxed atmosphere of Kuma Ani makes it the perfect spot for a quick meal when you're craving ramen, rice bowls, or noodles.
Love this place! Delicious Ramen with homemade noodles. Lots of options for flavors and ingredients. Vegetarian and Vegan options too. The prices are fair for the quality of ingredients. Most recently I had noodles with cheese and bacon. It reminded me of a slightly spicy mac and cheese.
Feeling some Ramen? Kuma Ani - Yes Please! On a layover, wanting something hot and delicious and passed on the Indian food joint around the corner for ramen. Great choice by me, self high 5. It has limited in restaurant seating but on appeasement night plenty outside. Fast casual food service with a smile. Cooks seemed to know a lot of their customers. Good sign....my three things 1) Ultimate awesometown Tonkatsu is good...delicious if you ever wanted crispy bacon sprinkled on your ramen. Good depth of flavor. Only gripe is I am guessing the noodles are pre bought. 2) See weed salad and beers in a bottle we pre made and can be purchased right at the counter. Plenty of canned drink choices. 3) This place has a great choice of Asian dished with ramen, Donburri, and Ban Mein
I ordered takeout for delivery because I was craving something comforting but also meaty. The soup was yummy and packaged in a way that didn't let the noodles or veggies get soggy in the broth. The broth itself was rich and flavorful. I also thought the serving size was worth the value. The delivery process took a lot longer than I expected for something like ramen, but that's hard to say whether that's on the carrier or restaurant. Excited to try this in person one day, pictures of the place in person look awesome.
Delicious little ramen spot. Tons of options interior is clean, industrial feeling, and new. Front end staff were decently helpful. Ultimate tonkotsu ramen was chefs kiss.
It is an Asian fusion fast food style of operation. You order your food with the cashier upon chucking in and they will bring it to your table. I ordered seaweed salad, kimchi and Gyudon (beef brisket) Doburi. The food tastes great with all the ingredients especially the oshinko slices, but I wish they put a little bit more beef in the donburi.
Love this place. It's a busy business bustling with hungry people. We were fortunate to find space at the last two seats available. They do have outdoor seating but it was really windy and chilly. The ramen is fairly priced. I got the spicy ramen which was the perfect spice level. It's hot but not too hot you can't enjoy it. There was plenty of juicy chicken and an egg and lots of flavorful broth with the best ramen noodles I ever had. My only issue was the choice of music. It really didn't fit the style of food they were serving.

Came here for lunch after airport run. This place is nothing fancy. They have a small menu. Order and pay by the counter and they will bring your food to your table. Our ramen were delicious, the meats were tender and have nice flavors. I just wish my broth is hotter ( temperature hot). Will definitely come back. read more
It looks good in photos. But is not good in practicality. Tonkotsu ramen: Overall preparation was great, it was hot, pork was nicely cooked. But Flavors were not good at all, poor quality ingredients. - broth flavor: 2/5, does not taste good. Not quite awful, but unpleasant. - pork char-siu: 2/5. Not good. Not much flavor. - soft boiled egg: 2/5. No flavor. Bland. Not properly prepared. And why cabbage? That's a weird choice. Gyoza: 2/5 Also prepared very nicely. Cooked perfectly. But flavor inside was devoid. Tastes like nothing, just the chewiness of chicken and slight unpleasant taste of mediocre cabbage. Service and ambiance are fine. read more

Fun place for a quick meal. Ramen portions are big, so I take need to remind myself to skip the appetizers! Service is friendly and prompt. It's a very casual place with tables, so I wouldn't hang out here for a long time, but you should eat ramen quickly anyway! Reliable stop for me. read more
Omg first time in Albany and so glad we didn't settle for fast food. If you have a layover or staying in Albany, get ramen here. It is ridiculously good. The ultimate tonkatsu ramen is so good! Just get it! Will probably have to get another bowl before leaving. read more

My husband and I love coming to the Kuma Ani on Wolf Rd. The staff are always pleasant and they've gotten to know us pretty well, even though we only come in every 6-8 weeks. The food is always delicious; I love the ability to make my own Ramen bowl so I can choose exactly what I want in it. The appetizers are pretty fabulous too. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and I've never came in to a dirty place, regardless of how busy it is! read more

The food was good only I was expecting the fat noodles (udon) but the guy at the register was new, and I ordered from the (build your own) menu, so there was a bit of a misunderstanding... Anyway, everything else was good, the ambience is chill. I'll be back. read more

This is our go to ramen place in Albany. We are here twice or thrice a month! They serve great food and the staff is very sweet too. Ambience is nice We always go for MYOR as they have both Chicken and vegan options. Highly recommend this place! read more

The food was excellent. I had the Zha Jiang Mein. Delicious! Staff were friendly and the service was quick. Restaurant wasn't busy, clean, and smelled great. I've eaten at this place when it was in its original location on central avenue. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Takoyaki appetizer. Both were excellent. I will be going back for sure. read more

A cozy little place to have ramen in the cold weather. Service was good and quick. Both rice and ramen dishes were flavorful. Sake jelly shot was fun to drink but little expensive for the size. Would definitely come back if we happen to be in the area. read more
My friend and I were debating where you could get the best ramen in Albany, and she backed Kuma Ani as a contender. I was skeptical because Kuma Ani was the first meal I had when I got to Albany, and let's just say I was not amazed. But, I gave it the benefit of the doubt; maybe the first time COVID played a role in the quality, it was a bad day for them, etc. I got a spicy tonkotsu with marinated egg. First of all, tonkotsu broth is supposed to be creamy and rich with collagen; this broth was not. The chashu was dry and unflavorful, and why was the egg sickeningly sweet...? It didn't taste like Japanese ramen should taste like, at all. Maybe this suits the palate of other fellow Albanians, but this is not the place for me. read more

First. Kuma Ani is not a full service restaurant. There is limited indoor seating (wooden booth tables along one wall). There is outdoor seating when the weather is good for that. But this is Albany y'all. So, you know. Outdoor dining is not a year round kinda thing. You order your food at the counter and then grab a seat/booth. Your food will be brought to you as it comes out. You bus your own table when you are done. Drinks are in bottles you choose when you place your order. The kitchen is, in effect, in the same room as the seating. This is a small place with a small staff and you can see them making everything fresh, to order, a few feet away while you wait for your food. If you follow along here at all you might know that this is PRECISELY the kind of spot I like. The kind of spot I like to support: people working hard, with each other as a team, turning out delicious food from scratch with fresh ingredients. Kuma Ani is a small, local "chain" (3 locations in Albany). And I'm kind of down with that kind of business model in the restaurant world. Keep it small. Keep it local. There are three types of dishes on offer at Kuma Ani; Donburi (over rice); Ban Mein; and Ramen. I had Ramen. I definitely plan on going back to try others, so stay tuned! I wanted Ramen in part because I have been sick for two weeks (so far) with a cold/upper respiratory situation. I wanted a big bowl of hot, spicy, delicious dinner. I do not eat beef, pork or poultry. I do eat seafood. You can order a Ramen off the menu and add to it or you can build your own. I ordered the Vegan Ramen. VEGAN RAMEN Y'ALL. I asked for my Ramen to be spicy and I added fried tofu and fresh cilantro. Were I less sick and if I actually had a voice (it's GONE right now and that is making it a bit more challenging for me to communicate with people...) I would have modded up my Ramen more. I also ordered Shumai, fried (you can get them steamed as well) and I grabbed a container of Kimchi from the drink cooler at the register. I ate all my Kimchi while I waited for my other food. Totally good. Not overly spicy. So safe for most people. IMO. I'm pretty sure it was vegetarian. I did not ask, but I also did not taste any fish in it. Fried Shumai were also good with a delicious dipping sauce. There were 6, but I forgot to take a pic until after I'd already eaten 3. #fail My bowl of Ramen was very good. When I've had Ramen other places the bowls are INSANELY large. As if you kind of have to hurt yourself to finish it (which I do, but I don't necessarily recommend that approach...). This was a perfectly large bowl of Ramen, but not obscenely large. IMO. Very tasty broth. I think next time I'll ask for "extra spicy." My fried tofu was little squares deep fried tofu. At first I thought they were kind of over fried. But that does allow you to completely submerge them in your tofu and have them still be cubes. I got plenty of cilantro! The bowl contained corn, cabbage, shitake mushrooms, scallions, carrots and Baby Tok Choy. I definitely felt like I got a well rounded meal! My noodles were not Ramen noodles. They were Vermicelli. Which I like a lot. But I was surprised by? Also I think I might have missed a "noodle option" in my slightly impaired by sickness ordering... And then! I went to sleep and felt GREAT. I mean I wasn't healed by this Ramen. But I'd pay for that delightful night's sleep any time...being able to breathe freely and all. read more
