    Matcha Taichi Zang Zang Special

One of my all-time favorite places. The restaurant decor is so cute, and Taichi has the best ramen around. I haven't eaten anything here that hasn't been delicious and their bubble tea is top-notch. Everyone is always super nice and they let me stay there to study one day when I needed a quiet place before class. I'm currently eating takeout from there and it's so well-packaged with the broth separated from the ingredients that it makes for easy reheating!

I had ordered the spicy tonkatsu with pork. My coworker talked it up so I had to try. It was so good and the meat was amazing. The egg was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I could have used a little bit more spice but it wasn't completely off. I had the brown sugar milk tea with boba. The Boba was little chewy, so it could have been cooked a bit more but it was so creamy and good I could have easily overlooked it.

This was an experience in itself. The first time visiting and first time even having bubble tea. Walking in the place is absolutely adorable! Very clean and neat and up to date with placing your order over a computer. Since I wasn't sure what I wanted or what I would like I placed my order at the counter. I guess I should have ordered something outside the box but I didn't this time. I ordered a chicken salad bowl. Dressings in the side of spicy mayo and Thai sweet chili sauce. I must say it was AMAZING! But I wasn't much of a fan of the watermelon smoothie. It is EXTREMLY SWEET. They told me at the counter so I opted in for "less sugar" and it was still beyond sweet. But all in all I def will go back and o think next time I'll try a sushi burrito.

This is my go to place for boba and now after trying food, mmm mmm mmm I have to go back sooner than later! My daughter and I arrived shortly after opening for an early-ish lunch. Place was clean and staff were super helpful and friendly. No matter the time of day I've visited for a drink fix it is always clean. The drinks were fresh and tasted great. I had an Infruit Pineapple tea with popping strawberry and mango boba. My kid had a strawberry smoothie. Both were refreshing, made well, and presentation was nice. For food I had a MYO poke bowl with chicken and the kid had a sushi burrito. We were able to pick out exactly what we wanted in our orders and there were a lot of options. Everything tasted super fresh and soooo good. One thing I really liked is the food is served in a take out container. I was able to box up my leftovers without having to ask anyone for anything. Taichi has truly met and exceeded my expectations.

*I went here as part of a Yelp Elite Event and received some complimentary items but I also purchased food. My review is based on my experience and is my honest opinion, written as though I'd purchased all Items myself*. First of all this place is adorable! The staff were helpful; I heard them explaining the different tea and food options to another customer. I chose a poké bowl and a matcha milk bubble tea. I've eaten a lot of poké and this is one of the better places I've tried. They had a lot of topping and sauce options and everything tasted fresh. The milk tea had a nice strong matcha flavor. Many of tried don't taste like actual matcha because of either the sweetness level or the quality of matcha (flavoring). This tasted like some freshly ground matcha that I've tried before but with a milky sweetness that gave it balance. Definitely still that earthy matcha coming through and who can resist some nice chewy black pearl boba!? I bought an addition item- the beef rice bowl to have as dinner! It's cooked with a soy/teriyaki sauce and had a nice flavor. It reminded me of some yakitori skewers I've had before. The egg and green onions plus the rice made it a very satisfying meal. Unfortunately, I found the meat very fatty and chewy. The portions were very good sized in my opinion and the prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend trying this spot. I'd like to try the ramen but the poké was so good, it'd be hard not to order that again. I haven't had good poké since I left the DC area a few years ago so I'm super happy Taichi Bubble Tea was so delicious!!

I ordered their tonkatsu ramen and a Match red bean milk tea large for pickup. Approximately $20 The ramen was well packaged and I specified to pack the broth separately just in case. I was really disappointed that they forgot my egg. It was a little oily and I would definitely order the spicy next time. It comes with black garlic oil, 3 pieces chasu, menma, and narutomaki and lots of green onion. The three pieces of chase were good but I wish they had grilled them on the flat top a little more and I forgot to tell them no menma which just tastes like old gym socks to me... the serving of noodles was ample and they had a good chew. Definitely needed to reheat the broth at home. I live about 10 mins away and it was lukewarm. My tea didn't have any red bean in it from what I could see. Not sure if ai was supposed to specify that when I ordered online since it was called Match Red bean Milk tea... Would order again for take out with a few tweaks.

This place really has it all, if you want anything else that burger pizza or other coffee snacks. I am so glad they have something else than Starbucks. My burrito was so fresh. The lettuce was crunchy and really yum. I was thinking I will get a flour wrap, but they had it on sea weed wrap. Great. Keeping me healthy. I got it with brown rice and sesame seeds. Uhum Uhum.... Just yumm and hit the spot, full yet thought I just had something healthy too.

If only their ramen was as good as other aspects of the business, I wouldn't think twice about giving them another star. Still, this is hands down my favourite boba spot. The decor is bright and quirky without making me feel uncomfortable, staff seem all in all friendly and efficient, their black tea is always spot on, boba is mostly a-ok albeit completely unflavoured occasionally, and parking is never a problem given its location in a major plaza. Maybe I'll try anothe a bowl and they just might wow me.

It's so exciting to have a great bubble tea shop in the area! They have a ton of flavors and varieties of drinks as well as poke bowls and ramen. The service is quick and staff friendly. My friend noted that other bubble tea shops in the area are often dairy based but that these bubble teas were dairy free.

    Line... very cute here.

Friendly staff, clean place, and very cute inside. My ramen bowl was delicious (IMO) not overly salty like other local places. The beef bowl we had wasn't the best, it was more rice & onions than beef. The briskets was marinated more on the sweeter side. However the Rice was cooked perfectly. The boba drinks were good, they had a lot of options and choice of milk which is great. Will definitely be back.

I come here very often because of how good everything is. I'm so glad there's finally a boba shop in Latham. The closest one before for me was in Albany. I love this place and I would recommend it to anyone looking to try out boba. The place is a walk in, you go in and order from the cashier, wait a few mins and grab your food/drink. They have a huge selection of drinks to choose from. My personal favorite is mango milk tea with mango boba. You can also eat Ramen, Poke Bowl, Sushi and etc! I personally tried the poke bowl and it's pretty good. I also love the ambiance there. It's full of lights in different areas with designs, logos, fonts. Great to take pictures in front of!

We came around lunch and this place was packed with a non stop line of people waiting to order. This is a place where you order and they will call your number when it's ready for pick up. They offer all types of bubble tea, fruit teas, smoothies, poke bowls, poke burritos, ramen, and rice boxes. Interior is cute with plenty of seating, greenery on the walls and some stuffed animals when you walk in. In the middle area has extra utensils, straws, and where you return the trays. Service was relatively quick given how busy they were. The poke bowl portion was on the smaller side, and definitely was lacking with the rice portion - there was more toppings than rice. But the flavors were good. Bubble tea had a bit more milk than other places. I think this is a solid place if you are craving some bubble tea and want a quick bite to eat

    Spicy tonkotsu ramen

Ooh, looks like I'm going to get my boba fix every time I run errands at Walmart o: I got the taro Zang Zang; I like that there is a soymilk option because that drink was straight up milk and potato, my lactose intolerant booty would have cried. I think it was done pretty well even if it wasn't something I would normally get; their less sweet option was quite mild and the pricing was reasonable. The ramen was decent! I got the spicy tonkotsu with pork belly, and it came included with half a marinated egg, bamboo shoots, and three pieces of chashu. The egg was a bit too sweet for my taste, and the chashu was pretty soft but not the softest or most amazing I've had. Their bone broth is done exceptionally well for Albany standards though, it was rich and creamy with a good kick! I think Taichi currently is in first place for ramen in the Capital District for me.

(not too sure) The tofu soup I got was mild-lightly spicy and gosh it was the spiciest soup I've ever gotten and I usually eat this and other spicy foods perfectly fine! Wasn't the best for me. Alternatively the beef soup felt a bit bland but my friend liked it. Main complaint is not much beef in the soup and it tasted very tough. alternatively not much seafood either, just tiny small bits of cheap shrimps which were a bummer. Only good thing was the decent price and decent free side dishes (not many) of which only broccoli tasted good. Food took forever to come so side dishes were a life saver although they also were never refilled which at traditional places they are. Main thing: the service was quite bad... from the moment we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as no one welcomed us, dirty tables were everywhere (like in those video games you play to clean up), and we waited awhile at the counter looking at menus until someone greeted us with an attitude yelling that counter is only for to-go and we should've just sat down if we're dining in... she huffed and sat us down, surrounded by the dirty tables. We asked if we could sit elsewhere but as big as the restaurant was, she still said half of it was closed for dinner (I know other places do the same but they were kind enough to let us sit in that area when requested) and the reason why this time, was because we were literally sitting surrounded by dirty dishes all around us - which they never cleaned up the entire hour we dined here! Very unpleasant view-never have I ever! Even our current table was sticky. And the food and service took forever. She seemed very annoyed when we ordered and whenever we asked for water or refill side dishes and gave attitude like we obviously need to wait for her to appear and be free to even ask which she was rarely seen. I never saw her treat other customers like the same way she treated us, for them, she was very patient and kind and offered menu options and even personal talk. Seems like she doesn't like tourists, just regulars. Anyways she was rarely seen throughout the meal and so I just sucked up the not so good food and we finished and took awhile to get the check. That was the only point in the interaction she seemed to be present in the restaurant. Other times she was nowhere to be seen. When paying, she loudly exclaimed what do you want to tip? In an attitude saying that, we had to tip, and it had to be a sufficient amount otherwise she'd be upset - which she was because service was not good. Even when we left and said bye, she gave us no word back and just another one of those scowled looks. Only one lady working the front and she was barely present and not pleasant. Overall food really isn't bad but it isn't amazing either. If this cuisine is what you're craving go for it, it's fairly priced. I would support a small business. But don't expect a clean restaurant or friendly service - unless youre a regular or fits the server preferred demographic. Not the best experience for me. Whole heartedly believe if service was better this could be a solid place!

I may be part of the Asian club but I'm not a part of this particular inner circle. Being Filipino…read more(or being human, for that matter), I tend to compare and contrast cuisines based on my own experience. With several Asian cuisines, rice seems to be the preferred carb. Korean black rice differs primarily in appearance - purple hue due to the mix of black and white rice. Gimbap (Kimbap) - is often described as Korean sushi. In doing some research, there's a distinct difference between the two. The seasonings used to flavor the steamed rice are salt and sesame oil. They are usually stuffed with cooked protein (beef, pork, tofu, fishcake) and pickled vegetables. They seem to be a larger diameter than maki sushi as well. Good? You betcha. Tonkatsu lunch is a favorite....think German pork schnitzel over black rice. The sauce seems to be Tteokbokki (glutinous rice cake) derived - sweet and slightly spiced. There are usually banchan (side dishes) accompanying the meal: kimchi, cucumber pickle, daikon, and eomuk (fish cake). They provide added contrast to the meal. The service has always been efficient and cordial every time I've picked up my order here.

I chose Tonkotsu ramen, which is ramen in Japanese pork bone broth. Then, I needed to pick a protein which was shrimp and I asked for the meal to be extra spicy. It only took a few minutes. I could hear it being prepared in the kitchen. The young woman at the register was helpful and patient as I made my selection. Definitely convenient. The ramen was good. I got a lot of shrimp and I liked the little slices of fish cake with pink flower designs. The decor has undergone slight changes since I last visited.
