We were seated at the Tatami table. No shoes, but it was a fun experience. Good thing i was wearing my nice socks ‍

Driving through Troy on our way, stopped by this lovely restaurant for food and glad we did. So worth it. Fresh food and good portion. They have a great selection of sake. Service was slow but good. We were seated by the window with the traditional table, shoes off, but it was fun! Definitely highly recommended.

I ordered spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. The inside of each was complete mush and warm. It was more like a mashed potato consistency. Will not be ordering again.

The sushi was very good. They have complex flavors combined with interesting sauces. I got two of the specialty rolls. The out of control was a nice spice level for those who enjoy spicier sushi. The Godzilla was very filling. It had a ton of different fish and was a huge size. Recommend for those who are hungry and don't often feel full with sushi. My only concern is the price. I paid 18.75 and 17.75 for the sushi which was quite expensive. Based on the previous menus posted on Yelp, it seems like the price is increasing even recently. I'm not sure if this is due to the pandemic or inflation but it's pricey even for sushi. However, the quality is better than other places I've tried in the area.

Came here after visiting RPI! The waitress was so kind and gave us extra miso soup and boba! Sushi was beautifully plated, reasonably priced, and exactly what we needed for a quick lunch. I didn't expect a sushi restaurant to be so good in Troy, but I highly recommend this place!

This place was an excellent place to get sushi! We ordered salmon, scallop, striped bass, mackerel, ikura, the salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and the avocado eel roll. The fish was all decent to good quality, and the flavors were strong. But what really stood out to me about this restaurant was the technique in the sushi making. Rolls were tight with a thin layer of rice (big fan), seaweed was crisp, and there was impressive temperature control (the eel was still warm in the roll- as it should be!). Presentation was lovely, as was the atmosphere. Also, a big fan of the fact that sashimi is essentially half the price of sushi here. Will definitely be coming back.

I love this place. My favorite is the salmon skin salad. So good. The dining room is small but the flavors are big! Yum. Good for takeout or dining in

Not going to lie...my expectations were low in terms of finding a good sushi place in the Albany area (I am originally from Seattle which has amazing seafood)....Unagi definitely exceeded these expectations! The general atmosphere is pretty quiet (I would prefer some light music in the background), and the place is clean. Sashimi is surprisingly fresh and delicious--my favorite was the tuna and white tuna. Prices were also reasonable for a nice restaurant (not upscale but still date-worthy). I have tried other places for sushi and sashimi, and I will say Unagi is probably the best sashimi I have had in the area.

I visited this small gem of a place two weeks before they'll open up the dining room, post-COVID, so there were only two tables for dining in but we got one of them! They do a brisk take out business with the locals so that is a great stamp of approval. Miso soup was very good and the edamame was excellent. I wanted a sashimi salad so I got a green salad and sashimi appetizer which were excellent! Rolls and sushi were also on point. Highly recommended and a pleasant surprise from this smaller neighborhood Japanese restaurant.

Great restaurant! -fast service -waiter and chefs are very lovely -sushi tastes great -gave us 2 extra miso soup and 1 extra bubble tea for our family

Question for you guys that have been to Sushi Tei in Albany as well as Unagi- how does Unagi compare? Thanks in advance! ☺️

They're both really good. I would give the edge to Unagi for creativity and their effort to bring in special ingredients. For example, they cure their own mackerel for saba. Unagi does a great job with rolls, but that's not really my thing. Sushi… Read more

Everything is shaken around in the wok to get a nice all-around sear, hence the name...Shaking Beef! We enjoyed it with Brown Rice instead of Jasmine. Kudos: The cubed filet mignon was cooked perfectly; it was tender and pink in middle. Outstanding! Two reactions: --I did not like the lime dipping sauce because it was very salty (grains of Sea Salt intact)served in a small dish that was on the plate, so next time I will order another type of sauce. However, the beef was flavorful without it. --There were too many sliced red onions and not enough spring onions. I chose, lunch combo with chicken and chicken teriyaki plate. May be, just the chicken was overcooked and a little fibery, besides that, it was very flavorful. Slight amount of spice nice vegetable crunch tasty marinated beef. Side of french fries were kind of tasty nothing special. Nashville Hot Chicken Sando Combo came with two sandwiches we asked for 1 mild and one regular. The first chicken sandwich was a little dry it might've been the mild flavor, it was all right. The medium chicken sandwich had a little bit more spice than the mild same so so flavor a little dry also. Spicy Pork Bowl with SPICY MAYO. This had a nice flavor, a little bit sweet and a good amount of spice. The sauce was sweeter than I like. We wanted to try a nice variety since we had never been there and have been wanting to try the place for a while. All in all we found the food to be pretty good, not sure if we would order any of these items again though since we felt nothing knocked our socks off. We would like to try the poke bowl next. If you are ordering for pick up be careful about where you order it. Make sure you go to bespoke bowl's website. Important sidenote when ordering takeout here: We ended up going through what we thought was their website and it was some third-party site that was selling this restaurants food and we ended up paying between 12 and $15 more for our order. I showed it to the staff when I picked it up because I had looked at their menu in the store and saw the price difference. The staff seemed confused/surprised.

Then came the pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Savory, caramelized pork belly met bright bursts of pineapple in a perfect sweet-salt balance. Fluffy rice studded with peas, carrots, and ribbons of egg. My three year old son dove in without hesitation, happily scooping forkfuls of rice and pineapple like he had discovered treasure. No negotiations. Just joy. Fifteen minutes later, box in hand, the real event began. Across melting ice. A sharp jaywalk. A cut through the gas station. A full sprint toward the train station as the gates threatened to close and my family waited. It was an unofficial, record-breaking mile fueled entirely by fried rice ambition. Once the cold air finally left my lungs, I cracked open the box. Steam rose into the winter air. The smell alone was victory. I'll admit to having kind of written it off for a long time due to the weird menu/concept (it's hard to trust that a restaurant is going to serve you a burger, some empanadas and a plate of pad Thai and execute any or all of them competently), but the good people at Fusion are serving food that's truly, honestly about three times better than it needs to be (caveat: we've stuck to the more Asian sections of the menu, so I won't make any bold claims about the burgers). The Chinese portion of our family unit said that my drunken noodles reminded him of the stuff that a street vendor sold outside of his middle school, which like, IYKYK (if you don't know, this is about the highest praise a plate of noodles can get). I'm not normally a major pad Thai enthusiast, but the version here was well-balanced and flavorful, not just kind of sweet and gloppy like a lot of local versions, and the broth for the chicken noodle soup is also truly random-SE Asian-street-cart level flavorful. If that wasn't enough to sell you on this place, the draft Sapporo is five bucks. In conclusion: please come here support these nice folks so they can continue to make above-par food for many years to come.
