Got dinner with our friends here so we could enjoy it at the park. All the options on the menu looked delicious and there is even candy to enjoy while you skim through. I got the salt and pepper popcorn chicken with taro bubble tea. My fiancé got the fried chicken cutlet over rice plate and our friends tried the omurice and a hot&sour noodle soup. For dessert, we tried the tea and tofu dessert (not sure if it's for me, but I enjoyed the plain tofu pudding and bubbles with syrup over the one with ginger). The service was fast to take our order and since it is made fresh, we have to wait about 20 minutes. It's a casual, fast spot perfect for a quick meal and would definitely go more if I lived in the area.

Lucky Corner reigns supreme and no other place in the same category even comes close in the Capital Region. What do we love about it? First and foremost, consistency. In the almost five years we've been coming here, the food here has been incredibly consistent, which means they have the best, most delicious braised mixed pork. No other place, including ones in North Carolina, DC, Georgia, and elsewhere in NYS, has matched the juicy minced pork, refreshingly sweet and savory greens, and the tender marinated soft boiled egg. The owner has always been quick and efficient yet friendly and courteous, and... did I mention he makes an amazing cream of corn soup as well? Other food highlights at Lucky Corner include the curry chicken with rice and gua bao. Prices have gradually crept up over time just like at other foods joints, and Lucky Corner still offers impressive value. I kinda wish the dining room reopened, but as of early November 2025, it's still not open. Last but not last, Lucky Corner gets extra love from me for being a local business. Long live Lucky Corner.

Legit Taiwanese place that is currently carry-out only. When you come, do try the items on the "Taiwanese Style" section on the menu - fried roasted pork (as an appetizer or over rice), sautéed cabbage, curry chicken over rice. Several items on the Taiwanese style section reminded me of the corner eatery near my childhood home in Taipei.

Authentic Taiwanese cuisine, enjoyable experience here. It's never easy to find a proper Taiwanese restaurant that serves the real Taiwanese flavor. It's exactly the hometown taste here in Troy and every dish we ordered was yummy. Definitely a go to pl

Lucky Corner is right. The citizens of Troy who get this corner Taiwanese comfort food spot in their neighborhood are the lucky ones. On my first visit, I got a giant bowl full of soup, and that was all fine and good. But on my second trip, the fried chicken cutlet over rice had risen the ranks of Yelp as the dish to get. Even though it was definitely soup weather, I had to try the local favorite. But it wasn't easy, since there were so many other Taiwanese specialties I wanted to try. Man, that chicken cutlet plate was delicious. That said, I might not get it again. it's just a ton of food. And for about half the price, you can get a bowl of the minced pork over rice, which is pretty much the same thing but without the chicken. Plus, by getting a smaller dish, I might have room for one of the tempting appetizers or the tofu pudding dessert. Tofu pudding is one of my favorites, and it's been a long time since I've had it. I am curious to taste how this Troy version stacks up with those I've enjoyed in the past.

My favorite, Taiwanese style fried chicken cutlet over rice.

Solid Taiwanese food. I love trying all the house specialties. They are a bit different than the standard Chinese fare at most places.

Honestly can't recommend enough. The food is awesome, the portions are perfect (leftovers are great!), and the price is super reasonable. :)

Have had it at the Troy Farmer's Market & at the Student Union & for all their effort in making it, with 10 ingredients including mustard greens & bok choy, there is zero flavor. (Tried Chicken & tofu orders) The pad thai sauce needs some umami, fish sauce, tamarind? I'm not sure. Pad Thai is not supposed to be spicy, so I am confused as to everyone ordering it, & being asked a spice level. Maybe the spic covers up the non-sauce that the noodles are tossed in? I even trekked up to the student union to pick up lunch one day, and asked for extra Tamarind sauce. I got a dollop of brown sauce on top, that tasted like extra salty. Hoisin sauce. And then some more further down in the bowl. Such a disappointment, I couldn't eat all that salt, threw it out. Should I ask for "extra Thai flavor" next time? Really don't know. **Pad Thai is not a Spicy dish friends.** 2nd: Definitely go for: A Rice Bowl with -the string beans. Crispy with a kick of spice -the beets at the Farmer's Market. Never thought I would finish off beets, but this will convert you. I crave this! Too bad they don't have it at the RPI Student Union during the week. -green curry chicken is not bad. Spice comes on a little bit later. -The Mango Lassi is $4.(average since coffee & battenkill milk costs about the same at the Mkt.) A nice option to have, Mike said that it's made with rose water. Needs a bit more cardamom. -Had a nice to-go cold peanut noodle chicken noodle bowl from the RPI Student Union. They're now on a new remodeled floor at the Union, the menu looks smaller. Maybe it will take some time to build it back up, or they may not have the room for extras. -always fun seeing their homemade ice cream flavors according to the holiday. Very creative & fun chefs. Follow their Facebook for updates. So, too bad I had to average out my review to 3 stars for TMC, but the Pad Thai is very disappointing. My mother bought one & didn't like it either & she's more forgiving with food. Yet customers seem to really like it. Get schooled on Pad Thai at Sukothai in Albany folks! Or even Chom's Cafe In Troy.
