A long-time favorite, Bella Napoli is a true local gem. Sandwiches are fantastic, really scratches the itch for a good Italian mix. We love coming for breakfast, which is hot, fast, delicious, and reasonably priced (even these days). Home fries are to die for and their lattes are just as good as fancier spots in the area (and won't break the bank). Of course, you can't go to Bella Napoli without checking out their Italian pastries, cookies, and other baked goods. Our favorites include the turtle cheesecake, chocolate dipped cookies, cannolis and pasticchiotti. Danish, breads, and turnovers are also excellent. The service is always efficient and friendly. Can be tough to score a spot at the counter, but we always feel cozy and at home when we do. read more

Normally, I love Bella Napoli. They usually have amazing pastries, and their Valentine's Day selection looked especially tempting. I picked up two Valentine's Day cookies, a lobster tail, and two large cannolis--items I've enjoyed from them in the past. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark. The lobster tail was soggy and lacked the crisp crunch I normally expect, and the cannolis were also soggy. That was especially disappointing because those are usually my favorites. The Valentine's Day cookies looked cute, but underneath the frosting they were dry and pretty flavorless. I really wanted to love everything, especially since I've had such great experiences here before, but this time the quality just wasn't there. Amazing Italian bakery and cafe! They have such a great variety of Italian pastries and cookies as well as bread and donuts all of which are delicious. I plan on coming back to be able to try them all! The sfogiatella is always delicious and flakey and I love the rainbow cookies they have here too. So many creative cannolis as well and I hear the donuts are not to be missed. They also have a hot side for a light brunch or lunch which is really convenient and I look forward to coming back! The people who work there are so nice and everything is ran so efficiently. The store is always so cute for the holidays and there is plenty of parking as well. read more

Awesome bakery with a huge selection and convenient hours! Whenever I need baked goods for a get together, Bella Napoli is my go-to place. They have so many baked goods and fresh bread! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Bella Napoli and saw the variety of baked goods and pastries they offer. There's truly something for everyone! On my first visit, I had their coffee and a cheese danish. The danish was buttery and flaky, just how I like it. A friend had the brownie cheesecake, which I only had a bite of, but oh my--it was creamy with a rich, fudgy layer. I've never had a brownie cheesecake before, but it's definitely on my list to try again next time. I also sampled some of their classic cookies. Their fudge fancies and black and white cookies were great, with the cookies being even better than I expected. Service is super quick, but I do wish they had more coffee options and that the coffee line wasn't separate from the bakery line, so you wouldn't have to wait twice to grab a cappuccino or other drinks. There's usually a bit of a line, but it moves fast, and they have a few tables to sit at. The bakery also has a fun and welcoming vibe with its decor. read more

I read the reviews and saw they get very busy. I was there early and had to wait for my turn to place a food order. It took a while as there was only one woman doing the register (taking the orders & paying) then also grabbing the drinks and also collecting the food from the kitchen. There are only a few tables so not ideal to eat there unless you catch a slow time. There are two lines. One for food and the other for breads and pastries. While I was waiting for my food I (thought) I was waiting in line for the cookie counter. After 15 minutes and it would have been my turn. The young girl said nothing and went to the bread counter. Can't lie. I was a bit turned off by that. She could have said something as the bread line was about 15-20 people deep at this point. The food was decently priced. Nothing bad. I lost all patience at that point to wait in that long line again so I left. A gentleman came in and asked if he placed an order online where to go. She told him that really long line. People also just wanted to get prepackaged cookies. They also needed to wait on that really long like to pay. They either don't have enough staff or just run this poorly. I may stop by at another time to try the pastries. We'll see. I don't up there often. After reading another review (the mom car shopping with her daughter), I felt I had to try it. This popular local bakery spot has great customer service and is very clean and organized. The cannoli presented very well. But was lacking authentic flavor and texture. Stopped in for a quick lunch sandwich and walked into an exquisite authentic bakery. The food menu was expansive and looked so good, as well as EVERY SINGLE bakery item behind the glass display cases. I literally wanted to try one of everything and did end up getting over a dozen items as well as the French Dip Sandwich, which was so good with its rich beef flavor and perfect au jus for dipping you are going to want to drink it. They had a small area to eat at inside which was sufficient since you'll eat their delicious food so fast, and packed up the bakery treats in a traditional box fastened with string. The staff were all very nice and helpful explaining the process for ordering/paying, as well as knowledgeable about the items while helping me choose. The price I paid for 15 different bakery treats plus the French Dip sandwich actually came out to be less than what I expected for a bakery of this caliber. Very very pleased! The lady running the counter was not customer friendly. The vanilla cannoli was chewy and doughy, the vanilla cream left an oily consistency on the tongue. The pastries were pretty good, but they can improve their chocolate coating recipe... use some real chocolate mix n less brown color and sugar with marg. I mean I am coming from the big giant portion of yellow butter custard chocolate eclairs from the Honest weight Food coop, boy it was $4.99 for one eclairs but it felt straight out of Pari's . Ambience was pretty busy as usual. They charged me $4.95 extra this time and the younger girl acted like it was my fault that I asked the total seems a lot for couple slices and pastries. The quality of pastries here has declined significantly since I've started coming here years ago. The culprit? Too much humidity in the cooling cases. It takes all those crisp and flaky layered pastries or cannolis and turns them into soft, mealy deserts full of contempt for the customer. We came here for last minute Christmas cookies. Since the place was beyond busy and looked as we would be waiting for a while we decided to get the pre- packaged mix of cookies in a box. The box was 27.00 and I have to say every single cookie in there not only smelled the same but they tasted the exact same as well. This bakery has an outstanding selection of Italian pastries. Everything appeared to be very fresh. We tried the cannolis of four different flavors. My only complaint is that the cannolis were soggy. They were not crispy as if they had been made several hours prior. The chocolate dipped cannoli was crunchy because the shell obviously is coded with chocolate. If you prefer crunchy cannolis get the chocolate one. I don't know if they will specifically make you one on site at the time you're there. Other than that, the place is very good. This was a TERRIBLE visit in Latham on 8/07/2023. Napoli is a quacky burned-bakery, in what looks to be a former used tire shop. As you know, I usually review good spots, but with this catastrophe - I really reached down deep in the napoli toilet; to pull out a dud. Bees! There were swarms of bees stinging folks all over the parking lot. People were running screaming, getting stung. That's the start. Inside there were not 1, but 2 lines crisscrossing to China and the interior was a rats' nest of disorganization: trash, plastic utensils and napkins and empty boxes on the floors and spent tissues on shelves. The snot-attitude, burned-bakery-bimbos behind the finger printed and spilled-on counter, randomly picked folks to pawn off what black, burned and charred crap was still left over (see pics). The cannoli ($5+) were made with salty left-over frozen pizza dough. You know how when you eat a cannoli it snaps? The little crumbs that break off and land in your lap? Not here, this was a wet cannoli fest, dredged from a gutter. The fillings were bland, straight-up shaken out of a Walmart can, nothing else. The sfugliatella were burned brick-hard: to attempt a bite it was like taking a chomp from a lobster shell. We tried but they were inedible! Fuggetaboutit. Totally destroyed! Selling such quarry-like, lumps of stone and mortar to the public - that should be investigated by the Albany Department of Health. I felt sick to my stomach by Noon! The staff too, they all were underage, clueless and not in-the-know to be working. Customers were asking about "what is inside that one?" - the girl (taller, wearing an 'M' around her neck), feigned arrogant, snotty, disinterest. She had not a clue. Blank stares. Listen, if the staff does not know what is in it: how do you think they'll bake it? Burned!! At a cooking school you would be kicked out on your second day! Napoli is a dump. Worst cannoli I have had in years. Sfugliatella that was literally black and stone-hard thrown in the dumpster out back. Shards of what felt like sfugliatella wood-shavings in my stomach from the one crustaceous corner-bite. Fillings were bland, gelatinous, tasteless, canned, hardened, burned. Staff wearing wrinkled red aprons (antithetical to Italy) has 100% bad manners. These girls were harried, tired, miserable, stressed and under-trained. Hey napoli I want my $25 back! All that burned, charred, left-to-wilt cannoli in the dirty shelves and the cheesy pretend-bakery filling ended up in the dumpster for the bees to feast on! Scandalously burned: TERRIBLE. The line was long in the middle of the afternoon. That says a lot! Chock full of freshly baked goods, the choices are endless. I remember their rolls from decades ago from a sub shop I worked at so they've been there a while. They are an icon around here! I have driven by several times and have never been in here and my friend was in from out of town and had to have their donuts. We walked in and there's a huge line at like 2:30pm. We were so happy when we were next. She stocked up on all of her favorites! Score when a fresh tray of glazed was thrown into the mix. It was reasonably priced for all the goodies and absolutely delicious. It was an average crowd at lunchtime and the line moved fast.
