OMG! I got a raspberry pie today and it was disgusting. It wasn't a fruit pie. It was like red sugar in a crust. We threw it away. $10 wasted. I also bought an apple turnover. Gross. I have tried different things from there, hoping it was a fluke. Never again. read more

Love this place. Specifically for the cakes. The celebration cakes are not only beautifully decorated, but the cake and the buttercream frosting are excellent. The frosting is particularly good, I am a big fan of traditional buttercream and this is right up my alley. The holiday themed items are super fun, excellent host gifts if you're heading to someone's house, or for the kids. Great prices too. And-there's bread, muffins, and rolls for those who need that kind of thing. read more

Have bought pies for holidays here for many years. This year I bought a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving when we cut into it totally inedible somebody over spiced horribly. It tasted metallic. I will never do business here again and I'm sure I'm not the only person on Thanksgiving to have got this pie, considering it was probably baked in a whole batch read more

Ordered a dozen each of a variety of cookies, 6 doz rolls to accompany a meat platter & 4 Stromboli's for our grad party! First of all, their cookies are ALWAYS FRESH, consistent and delicious! Rolls were delicious as well and if you haven't tried their Stromboli you need to! The staff and owner were so nice to work with and they made everything so easy! I highly recommend them! They've been around for many many years so don't forget them! Go and order. They also added bagels and breakfast sandwiches along with cream cheese made in house! Everything is so delicious! The Cookie Factory - Cookies to the right... they were one of our several dessert table options. - Bakeries Near Me - Troy, New York

Ate a giant MOUND of 50 count 'The Cookie Factory' butter cookies (with a dollop of chocolate frosting on top) over Christmas! They were soft and very addictive - especially with guests and if eaten with tea or coffee. These cookies are a great bang for your buck for parties. They are light but fatty - and yes, 'genetically engineered'. Still get your money 's worth. Review: 4 read more

You've GOT to be kidding me! A few hours ago (12/31/24 @ approximately 1 pm. ) I bought a Holiday Cookie tray, sugar cookies and a garbage bread. My bill was over $50 and I brought the cookies to a friend's house for an early New Year's get together and ALL of the cookies were GROSSLY STALE! How dare you sell items that it is now obvious were made for Christmas A WEEK AGO. I used to like Cookie Factory but even though it's not as convenient, I'll go to Bella Napoli. Shame on you for robbing your customers on New Year's Eve or any other day. read more

I pre-ordered a Cannoli cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. I ordered two days ahead, with a pick up time for noon. I arrived around 12:40pm to pick up the cake, which clearly was not ready since the young lady could not locate it and disappeared in back for roughly 5 minutes. When she came out she said she had to add the cannolis to the top of the cake. We finally left with our cake around 1pm, with a few other items we purchased out of the case. We returned home and put the cake in the fridge. We proceeded to attempt to eat the cookies we purchased out of the case, which were stale. At 6:30pm we took the cake out of the fridge to celebrate, only to discover the cake was frozen in center! Obviously the cake was taken out of the freezer when I arrived to pick up my cake, so not freshly made!!! Quite embarrassing and disappointing for my daughter. I sent an email that night. I called the next morning only to be told to call back they next day to speak with a manager. I called the next morning and spoke with a woman on the phone and told her the issue. She put me on hold while she went to speak with the manage. After 6 minutes on hold, she returned to tell me that hentold her he had my info and he would contact. I was shocked and she could tell, she even seemed uncomfortable telling me this and she kept apologizing. What kind of manager doesn't at least get on the phone and talk to you, even if they say they will look into it and get back to you. Well, that was two days ago, still no phone call or response to the email I sent. Obviously the only thing the Cookie Factory managers care about is taking people's money!! They do not care about quality of their product or their customers. Very poor management and customer service. Will not be returning. Avoid this bakery. read more

Just opened a bagel bakery in the building. Great bagels, sandwiches, rolls, etc. The breakfast sandwiches are super.

So, imma gonna drop it , let's start at the top. Donuts. A lifetime ago, you know, 2019, my pal had some donuts at his event, cookie factory donuts in fact, well played , well played. Here I'm familiar with the famous fudge cookies, they sell them around town at corner stores, etc. but they are a real place and have delightful donuts? In Troy on business I knew I was going to be in area and guess who's right there? Donut city, one way ticket, all aboard. Surprisingly, while donuts were very tempting, I opted for a danish instead, the nice lady behind the counter confirmed I chose wisely and I also bought some freshie fudgies for the fam, and let me tell you, very reasonably priced and VERY delicious! I mean, I'm giving it an easy A, right? They bake a bunch of other things that my tum is gonna want to try, so I'll be back. I've got fudge. read more

Our hometown beloved factory went downhill faster than you can say Obamacare. It's really sad. They no longer offer their robust breadth of options, like breads, and donuts, and fig cookies. What happened here, alberinos? I truly am dumbfounded. The cookies have never tasted so bad. I stopped in yesterday for a cookie and what I got was an old, gray, greasy Eminem thing that I gagged over while eating. It's a disgrace - how can you mess up cookies? After all these years? Yeah no. Just bake cookies your self and skip out on the awful experience this place now produces. Stale donuts, minimal options, different recipes, the decor inside is bad, the prices are RIDICULOUS, the list goes on. If you're selling, just sell already. read more

Needed a cake for an engagement party last weekend and after shopping around and seeing some ridiculous prices, I decided to check them out. I had been to several events where cake was provided by the Cookie Factory and it was delicious, but I didn't really want to venture out to Troy for a cake. After looking their price and size information up online, they sounded like the best deal and I knew it would taste good. I ordered a half sheet cake large enough for 40 people, with a funfetti base and rainbow sprinkles (yes this was for an engagement party lol). Ordering was easy enough and everyone I spoke to was friendly. The order was placed on a Tuesday and was ready to go on Saturday. The cake looked and tasted delicious and I received a lot of good feedback from the party guests. Frosting was delicious and the inside was super moist. Only small gripe was that I asked for rainbow sprinkles and for some reason, they put red sprinkles on instead. Not a big deal, but just not what I asked for. That error aside, this will be my new go to spot for cakes even if it's out in Troy. read more

Decadence. On a level almost beyond my comprehension. I stopped here before Christmas thinking that these things would be a great thing to give to those people in your life that do the little stuff. Like your mechanic, your mailman, your gym folks, etc. Just a small plate of my appreciation for a job well done. And the Factory does not disappoint. I got several trays of cookies for what I feel was a very reasonable price. Everyone was appreciative. And I was not significantly lighter in the wallet. Having had their cookies at work a few times, I needed to stop in and see what it was all about. I stopped in with the lady prior to a snowstorm to get some "Snowed in" supplies. The smell of bakery hit me as soon as we opened the door. Alas, it is not just cookies they do here. Cakes, pies, doughnuts, breads. They do alot of things and they do them well. We walked in just looking for a small assortment of cookies, and we left with cookies, cakes, eclairs, cupcakes, you name it. Way more than we could possibly consume in a weekend. We shopped for 20 minutes just on the cookie case!!! It was ALL spectacular. The stand outs for me? The triple chocolate cake with mini chocolate chips on it. The cannoli cake. And something they call "The Christopher". It's two butter cookies with peanut butter between them and coated in chocolate. MAN was that thing was excellent. And, for the finisher? There's nothing like a good "cookie monster" cookie to seal the deal!! I'll be back. I can't just have some. I want to try ALL OF IT!!!! read more

How can I have never reviewed The Cookie Factory? They make some of my favorite yeast raised donuts in the area. Here's my hot list. 1) Anything with chocolate frosting. The plain chocolate frosted is my favorite here. The yeast donut shell is just so impossibly light, it's really a perfect vehicle for this fudgy cocoa rich topping. But the Boston Cream is pretty great too. 2) The glazed It's a little non traditional, with some notable citrus in the glaze itself, but man does this shop get that crackle right. And again the light and elastic yeast donut shells are fantastic. They put the industrially produced donuts from the big chains to shame But not everything is great. The famous double dipped donuts are far too sweet. Like, teeth achingly sweet. Like, diabetic coma sweet. Like, there isn't enough milk or coffee in the world to wash these donuts down, kind of sweet. Make the trip up the hill. They've got parking. Get the donuts. And pick up a fudge fancy while you're there too. Just get one from the baking sheet and not one of the pre-packed cookies. Hopefully, once you experience real donut bliss, you will no longer be satisfied by the omnipresent pink and orange beacons of mediocrity. read more

I was excited to try this place since I had heard about it. Sadly, it was a big disappointment. I got a variety of cookies to try. Chocolate chip, m&m, chocolate chip sandwich, and a special turtle decorated one. The taste of the cookies was off and tasted like old oil and fake butter. The m&m ones had the same nasty flavor, and the candies had a powdery looking finish on them. Fillings and frosting were grainy. For the price, it is not worth what you get. It smelled amazing and the staff told me it was the cheese cake company next door. read more

I have thoroughly found where to get my cookies! I picked up Fudge Fantasies and These Raspberry cookies at Hannaford as I was looking for something local to buy for a work potluck. How do you know if a place is overpriced? A good indicative is when the prices are not displayed anywhere. This store neither display the prices of the items nor provide a menu with the prices (I asked a menu for an associate and she said they didn't have one). I paid around $9 for a box of macaroons. The breads, on the other hand, are more reasonably priced considering their sizes. read more

I like cookies. I tell all my friends that I like cookies. I like when my friends bake and give me cookies because I don't usually bake, but I do like fresh baked cookies. Hence my love of the holiday season, and The Cookie Factory. We can buy Cookie Factory cookies in many large grocery stores in and around the Capital Region, but there's nothing like going to the bakery itself to see all they have to offer. Yeah, lots of cookies, but also yeast breads and muffins and pastries and sweet bread loaves and cupcakes and cheesecake bites. It's a dizzying array. I've always loved their Raspberry Drops - cookies that melt in your mouth, bright fruit - and anything coated in their thick, lovely chocolate icing. This time of year I also enjoy all the beautiful sugar cookies, some decorated like reindeer and Santa. Beautiful. A great place to stop for last-minute gifts - they have plates and platters all nicely wrapped up but they can put together anything you want. Ordered a cake for a baptism held this past weekend and was impressed with the service and the cake itself. I had never actually been in the store prior to this event, but I had had cakes and cookies at other parties that I remembered being tasty, which was why I decided to go with them for this event. I went in a week before the baptism was held to place the order, and showed the girl working what I was interested in. I needed a cake to feed 80 people, but wanted something in the shape of a cross. This ended up just being priced as a sheet cake with the corners cut out. The owner was standing at the counter while I was there as well, and informed me that they would actually give me the cut out pieces frosted and everything, at no additional charge, which I thought was great. The cake was ready when I went to pick it up and looked and tasted great. I'm downgrading one star because I really wanted the chocolate custard filling, which I ordered, but they were unable to accommodate because of the shape of the cake (wish I had known prior to ordering). Also, I think the writing on the cake could have been a tad bit larger/neater. But the flowers and rest of the presentation were perfect. Multiple people mentioned how good the cake was, so I was relieved it tasted as good as it looked. Overall, extremely happy with my experience and will not hesitate to return for future party needs...and probably to sample some of their other goodies. read more

I went to college in the area and The Cookie Factory made my cake for my party. Delicious. We use to always get pizza dough from them for pizza nights. I was in the area recently and had to stop by. Not much has changed. Still an amazing display of pastries and I am still unable to get out of there without a large box of them (I may or may not have even gone back a second time to bring some home on the plane with me...) First and last visit here. Stopped for a specific item and needed help. There was one other customer here at the time. The woman working seemed to not want to assist. When I jokingly said "I don't really know what I'm doing" (regarding a baked good) she snarkly snapped "well, I don't know what you re doing either!" Thanks but no thanks..there are too many shops around to deal with this attitude. I have since told several people about this and been told it is not the exception here. I placed an order for 120 cookies 1 day before I needed them and they were able to accommodate me. The staff was friendly and my office was really excited that I brought "Cookie Factory Cookies" in as a thank you. I thought the cookies were sweet, soft and delicious! The store itself was really nice. Tons of variety and easy to get to. I thought the prices were reasonable and placing my order over the phone was easy. Solid 5 stars for me, but I will say these cookies are SWEET. Like fatally sweet. That's ok for me, but want to add that caveat for those who prefer a more traditional less sweet cookie. read more

What a delightful find when randomly driving through the area looking at the foliage! It's in a brick building with a waterfall behind it and plenty of parking. Not being from the area, I'd never heard of the cookie factory but it seems to be a franchise as there are several locations. Cookies. Lots and lots of cookies. That's why you go in! They also have other bakery goodies. We tried an assortment: Chinese almond, some stuffed chocolate ones, turtle brownie and peanut butter and jelly. Every bite delicious. I loved the decorated cookies they had - Hello Kitty, dragons, Halloween ghosts but didn't buy any. The only issue came up when we tried to get some coffee to go along with the cookies. First off, they only have hot (no iced, boo). The woman helping us didn't really seem to understand how to make any flavored coffees. She had a tough time getting any of the flavors to come out and honestly, the coffees were awful. I'm not sure she ever figured it out and may have just given us plain coffee. Cookie prices aren't cheap. For 5 cookies and two coffees it was almost twenty dollars. I'm glad I don't live nearby as I would be here way too often buying cookies! Definitely stop in and try some if you're in the area but don't bother with the coffee. read more

The Cookie Factory is a very good bakery, but you need to get the right items. The best food here is the glazed doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies, and the hard rolls. The glazed doughnuts are sweet, soft, and melt in your mouth. The chocolate chip cookies are crunchy and sweet as well. Also, the hard rolls are crispy and flavorful and are great for sandwiches. In contrast, I definitely recommend staying away from the cake here. I tried the chocolate cake, it was dry and the frosting was over the top sweet. I needed a gallon of milk to get it down. In conclusion, The Cookie Factory is an all around good bakery, but stay away from the cake. read more
