Visiting Rusty Nail was not my original birthday plan but it worked out perfectly- I got 31 free chicken wings for my birthday. Stingin Honey Garlic, Alabama BBQ, and Dill Pickle. I also finally found a strawberry rhubarb hard cider! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The wings were great. My only complaint as I've seen from others is that we had to wait over an hour longer than our reservation time.

The wings here are still top notch. Full of flavor and perfect bite to them. Wing flavors are so great, they don't skimp on the sauce. The chili which is brainless isn't my favorite, not much flavor to it. Order a side of fries, so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely a must have. They have many options for beers if thats your thing. My wife and I love the blue Hawaiian. A large party was coming so we were rushed somewhat to make room for them. It is what it is.

Had a great time at the Rusty Nail to celebrate a friend's birthday. They have the same owners as Bentleys and The Mill (if I'm not mistaken). Bentleys is known for this birthday wing thing...show up on your actual birthday (bring your ID!)...and you get your age- worth of wings for free. There are some rules...you can't take them home and there's a charge for any left over. Blue cheese or ranch are extra. Order incrementally. All quite fair, honestly. Well it's not just Bentley's that does this... Rusty Nail does this wing-thing too (I had no idea). I was with a group of 8 (they don't take reservations and only seat you when your party is all there). Besides wings, there were orders of fish and chips, burgers, nachos, hummus, mozzarella sticks and Bavarian pretzels. Everything was served piping hot and we were happy to have items delivered as they emerged from the kitchen. I had a few of the wings and thought the bbq was the best flavor of the 3 I tasted. Buffalo wings were mild-a but too mild for me -but the mango habanero had an excellent spice level (I just didn't taste mango....it was more like sweet and sour with a solid heat). Our server was top notch and everyone really enjoyed their food. It gets a bit loud in there, but it was busy and bustling. Bonus-I ran into other friends there which was cool.

    Is that The Rusty Nail?

So, I am at the Rusty Nail in Clifton Park, New York. Nice, clean, casual location. Love the layout. Open bar area and the dining is divided by a wall. The young lady taking my order is awesome. Always smiling and running around like a rabbit in a carrot field. Never missing a beat. I heard the wings are the best here and I have been hankering (is this really a word?) for wings. Oh the bourbon glaze is to die for. Extra crispy, blue cheese with the glaze. Can't ask for anything better. I will be back. Remember to support your local grubberies so we both don't starve

Awesome fries. Sorry photo is blurry.

Eat your age in "free" wings on your birthday at the Rusty Nail ?! It's apparently an idea that many people feel they need to experience at least once. In this case, a friend was celebrating a birthday and I kept company. I admit--it was both fun and delicious-- and I've come to the conclusion that most people can't eat nearly as many wings as they think. To make this promotion work you must be at least 21, show up on your actual birthday and bring a photo id. Since there were 2 of us, they started us off with 10 wings apiece, so we had 20 altogether and we only finished 17! Still, we had such a good time. The servers and bartenders were so nice and helpful. Even with plenty of seating the place was packed. It looked as though there were others also enjoying birthday wings. The Rusty Nail is an awesome sports bar. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching college football with our meal. We also ordered fries and a salad -- in an effort to be healthy-- and wound up taking half of the salad home. Please note, there is a built-in gratuity fee. If getting "birthday wings" are an idea that catches your imagination, I would say go for it at the Rusty Nail in Clifton Park. You'll probably leave very full and quite happy.

Blue heat & Honey BBQ Wings, Sweet Potato Fry Basket, Mozzarella Sticks

Hit or miss experience. I went for my 27th birthday and got our 27 chicken wings. Started with Blue Heat which is blue cheese & buffalo sauce as well as the honey bbq! The bbq were cooked odd or maybe the sauce?? They were really dry. Our first server also seemed to not like us...? She just seemed rude sadly but maybe it was due to shift change? Other than that, it was food and I'd go again but my birthday expedience everyone raved about wasn't worth it. Also, the prices are insane. $14 for 6 mozzarella sticks is wild!

Ask the Community - Rusty Nail

Can you could make reservations for the birthday wings?

can you make reservations for the B/D wings??

How do I make a reservation for the birthday wings?

They do not take reservations of any kind. They will only seat large groups until EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE in the group is there! They will assure you they will NOT run out of wings! Everything concerning the birthday wings promotion is clearly…

Where is the waitlist? Not seeing it...

Rusty Nail does not take reservations. First come, first serve. Concerning large groups they will only seat you till ALL of the party is present. Tight quarters , noisy, but VERY delicious food!

How do you get on the waiting list for a table?

The Rusty Nail in Clifton Park does not take reservations. You can check on their site peak hours but from our experience they are ALWAYS busy! The food is definitely worth the wait.

Another friend, Pam, had highly recommended Emma Jayne's Restaurant which is only a couple of traffic lights from Trader Joe's - a perfect location for our trip. The restaurant sits just north of Fred the Butcher (next door, literally) for those who frequent that establishment, on Route 9. There is off-street parking. When we arrived at 12:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, the front parking spaces were full. (Note: there may be parking around back; I didn't check) We thought we might have to wait for a table. Wrong! The restaurant is surprisingly spacious with two large rooms furnished with tables that were thoughtful spaced apart. A photo of an adorable young girl, whom we assumed was the dining establishment's namesake, was on the wall. Let me be sure to mention that the ladies room, which smelled faintly of bleach, was spotless. I mean REALLY clean! About the food ... my friend and I shared an appetizer of Fried Calamari. It was an ample portion (took some home) accompanied by sweet chili sauce - a nice change from typical marinara served at other places. However, the calamari was small and overcooked. As a result, what was presented was a plate of small, overly crisp rings of 90% batter. No squid! For our entrees, Barb chose the Chicken Salad Sandwich. She requested that it be served on a pretzel bun (touted as homemade) for which we were hit with an up-charge of $3.50. The chicken salad had grapes and walnuts in it and Barb liked it very much. The up-charged pretzel roll did not appear to be homemade. Very disappointing. Had she known it would be uninspiring, she would have accepted the brioche roll. Macaroni salad - not very exciting - accompanied the sandwich along with a pickle. I love seafood and was torn between ordering the Fish and Chips (halibut) and Lobster Pot Pie (an appetizer). Our server, Drew, gets a gold star for suggesting the second one when I told him I wasn't a big eater. Apparently, the halibut, while highly recommended, is a sizable portion. The pot pie was superb! The rich, creamy sauce was divine. I couldn't eat it all and will enjoy the rest of it for lunch today. Emma Jayne's menu has something for everyone. Our server, Drew, was informative and attentive. While we may make other food choices (skip the calamari and pretzel bun but keep the pot pie), we will definitely return.

Similarly, the garlic mayo was excellent and it helped elevate the burger. In addition, the bun was fresh and enjoyable. My only problem with the burger was that the caramelized onions were undercooked. However, the burger was still very good. In like manner, the fries were pretty tasty as well. To enlighten, the fries were hot, crispy, and salted well. As a final point, The Exchange is a good restaurant with solid burgers and fries.

The board said it was an Ommegang Grande Tripel stout at 5.5 ABV ($9). That level of ABV would be reasonable for a stout, but the color of the brew was golden like a typical Tripel, and not dark like the typical Stout. The bartender gave us a sample, and it was full of flavor with my wife noticing the vanilla tones that were described by the bartender. I didn't initially identify any specific flavor other than delicious and different than I would have expected from a stout. I also would not take issue with the posted 5.5 ABV. HOWEVER, a quick reference to Ommegang online as I write this says that it is a Belgium Tripel and the ABV is 9. Yes, NINE ABV! I would definitely have noticed if I were drinking a 9 ABV on an empty stomach. I also would have noticed it driving the car after finishing a pint within one hour. For those familiar with Utah Phillips, "It was good though!" But on to the food. We ordered a shareable Tot-Chos ($12.99) consisting of tater tots, tomatoes, avocado, cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, and chipotle aioli. These were very tasty and not too spicy, with crispy on the outside and soft on the inside tots. My wife ordered the Sooo Cali ($10.99) hot dog. The black angus beef hot dog is very tasty even before it is topped with wild arugula, tomato, avocado, crispy onion strings, and spicy basil aioli. The combined flavors work well together on the Kings Hawaiian rolls. My choice was to try the Hogfather ($10.99) - a pork bratwurst with bacon chipotle onion jam, chipotle aioli, and miso ranch. The bratwurst was delicious and again, the flavors worked well together. BTW, my wife had a Grimm Nothing But Citra ($8), an IPA that even I found acceptable. We really need to return here more frequently.
