Took a day trip for lunch and stopped here. We had a very attentive server with one of the owners actually checking in on us. A very old building with a ridiculous amount of character. The patio was huge, I can't imagine how packed that would be in good weather. The food was amazing, I didn't want to stop eating! Elevated pub food, very nice spins on classics. And everything tasted so fresh! If in the Albany area, you should definitely stop in.

Harp ale and Smithwick's red ale with drink list

The food was amazing! Best fish n chips I've had this side of the pond! We also ordered the beer battered chicken sandwich. That was phenomenal and such a great twist on the chicken sandwich. I had a Smithwick's red ale and it was cold and perfectly poured. Our server Jenny was friendly, helpful and just the right amount of attention with checking in on us but not overdoing it. The atmosphere is truly that of a pub. Having been to the UK many times, this place offers nostalgia of a traditional pub with fantastic food, excellent drinks, comfy pub decor and a spacious deck with outdoor seating. The owners Jim and Mike both checked in on us. Incredibly friendly guys who have done a heck of a job with this business! I'm already planning on going back.

The Gobbler sandwich

What a great spot! Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and I'm so glad I did. Their craft beer selection is fantastic! I started with a loganberry sour from Bolton Landing Brewing, which was great. I also ordered the Maple Walnut Brie appetizer, which came with apples and crackers. It was delicious! For my entree, I ordered the Gobbler sandwich - turkey, Swiss, and cranberry mayo on Challah bread. I'm a total sucker for anything with cranberries on it, so I had to order it. It tasted like Thanksgiving in a sandwich - it was awesome! Overall, I highly recommend Power's for great food and drinks.

Walking around inside Power's Pub is like trying to navigate through a wobbly tesseract filled with tables and chairs. But that adds to the character of the building. If you need steadier ground, dine outside in nice weather. The food and drink menu is extensive. My favorite part of the menus was the beer selection, though that section of "not quite on tap yet" beers is a bit of a disappointing tease. All the meals are presented really well. I'm not as enthusiastic about the fried foods here (particularly the fries), but my dinner group ordered quite a variety of appetizers and entrees, and everything else looked (and evidently tasted) great. I like that there are a lot of options that I can try on future visits. Service can be a little inconsistent on busier nights, but please be patient, they really do want to give you good service here.

A perfect pour of Guinness.

I stopped in the local pub today and guess what? Another perfect pour at Powers and an empty bowl of awesome chili. Thank you Maddie and Jason.

Service is always on point. Cozy place to have some great food. Burgers are better than Gordon Ramsay's.

It's attached to the golf course, sort of. I am not sure it's ADA approved as you need to climb steep steps to get in. Portions were generous and the young server was trying really hard to please. I am sure on a different day the vibe may be more lively. We were there on a Friday and it was dead.

She was super friendly, knew the menu really well, offered us tons of options for our selections and was very attentive the entire time. There was live music, a one man keyboardist who played easy listening tunes. We really enjoyed it :) this is a "don't judge a book by its cover" kind of place- the food was absolutely fantastic. We had 3, $25 strip steak special dinners and all were tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. A Reuben sandwich had real homemade corned beef on it, kids meals were tasty and exactly as described. Vegetable cookery was fantastic, homemade dressings and plentiful portions. We will definitely be back, and we hope the chef and Tina will still be there! Glad to have found this diamond in the rough- go try it, good food for a great price! -The Belden Family

Mea culpa! I have no excuse for not having returned to the Klam'r Tavern over the last six years…read more The biggest change since they first opened is the addition of a large deck, which we took advantage of on a warm Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Translucent fabric above the deck helps to diffuse the strong sunlight. While the draft beers available are not likely to attract those interested mostly in craft beers, the variety offered should be sufficient to accommodate those looking for a good brew to pair with the food they order. And we're talking about homemade pub food. While my companions chose sodas to go with their burgers, I decided on a Fiddlehead IPA ($5.50). My wife ordered the Cheddar & Bacon Burger (19 klams) and two of us ordered the Smokehouse Burger (19 klams). All burgers are half-pound, hand-crafted, freshly ground beef served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a grilled brioche roll. They are also accompanied by fresh-cut fries and pineapple slaw. We all ordered our burgers medium-rare, and the kitchen complied. While the Cheddar & Bacon Burger is self-explanatory, the Smokehouse Burger includes a brown sugar BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a homemade onion ring. The bacon on all our burgers was thick, crispy, and very tasty. The side of pineapple slaw was fresh and flavorful, the fries were better than average, and the rolls were soft and tasty. There are a number of other items on their menu that look inviting. I unfortunately, only took a photo of one side of the menu, but that should be enough to make you want to check them out. They also offer specials each night. Did I mention the complimentary bowl of popcorn?

If you've never been here before, I highly recommend trying two items in particular: 1. Beer cheese dip 2. BBQ (Or any other) mac & cheese I should note that the BBQ mac & cheese (previously the Memphis BBQ Mac) recipe has changed over the years, so this review may not hold forever. That said, mac & cheese in general has been the most reliable item on the menu for me. I've tried plenty of other dishes here over time -- fish & chips, burgers, fish and chicken tacos, and nearly every mac & cheese variation -- but I'll stick to reviewing what we ordered on this visit. This time around, my wife ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the BBQ mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious, and the BBQ sauce added a nice sweetness that paired really well with the pulled pork. The fish and chips were also very good. The fries were a bit soggy, but since we ordered to-go and they had to survive the drive home, I won't knock them for that. Portion sizes here are fantastic and easily justify the price. I love this spot -- it's a dependable comfort food destination for me. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to beer recommendations. The building itself is gorgeous and massive, giving the space an impressive sense of scale while you enjoy your meal.

Food was fresh & delicious. Beers & drinks were good, the fruit blond beers are definitely beer first, not strong fruity taste. Corn dip - good but very onion-y, almost too much but still different enough to eat it all. Watermelon salad was really good, unique. The chicken sandwich with slaw, wonderful. Burger - spot on! Recommend highly - something for everyone here plus quality beers & sours.
