The ice tea cup my son in law was charged for I hope his tip equalled the treatment we received.

**Disappointed by Service at Blackbirds Tavern** I visited Blackbirds Tavern this evening with my son-in-law, who was in town and looking to pick up a selection of beers for company. We were the only people at the bar. I ordered an iced tea, which the bartender acknowledged--but never served. My son-in-law asked if he could try a flight to sample a few options, but was told flights weren't available. I then suggested a couple of small samples, which the bartender agreed to--but again, nothing was provided. After waiting quite a while, my son-in-law decided to purchase two four-packs of beer and four Druthers glasses. I left the bar with an empty growler and one of the four-packs. While he was paying for his items, the bartender accused me of walking out with the iced tea--despite never having received it. My son-in-law pointed this out Instead, of removing the charge for the ice tea the bartender handed my son in law the iced tea in a plastic cup. It was a frustrating and frankly humiliating experience to be accused of taking a drink I never received, and then be forced to pay for it. I hope the management takes note and improves the consistency and professionalism of their service.

So happy to have more options in the Voorheesville area! Service is always great and food is consistent. Great place to grab a drink and listen to some live music.

Wanted to check out Blackbirds Tavern since we happen to be in the area. Can't believe we have been missing out on this place. The food/service were excellent! My husband and I shared the elote dip, and had two entrees (featured below). Delicious!!! The wait staff was also wonderful-super attentive and kind. We will absolutely be back!

Great atmosphere, service, food and local beer options. This is a great addition to Voorheesville.

I'll be honest - my heart sank as we got there, I almost cried. The neighborhood is *sketch*. The outside of the restaurant didn't look like much - but I felt better once we got in. Beautifully decorated with great lighting, lounge-style atmosphere. Great Latin music. We sat on the bar side as it was less busy. Beautiful bar with lots of options! Bartender made us **amazing** margaritas... omg were they strong! Loved it! Since we had never been there before, we played it safe. First we went with a fried calamari appetizer - not the best, but not bad - but then it's not typically something you'd order at a Mexican food restaurant. Boyfriend had the street steak tacos as main - hold the cheese as he forgot his lactaid, lol - and I had the steak quesadilla. Delicious! We loved it. The steak was especially well seasoned, not overcooked and sides were yummy. We ended the evening with churros - definitely homemade and on par with the ones we love at El Mirador in NH. Boyfriend even took his life in his hands and had some of the ice cream, couldn't resist - it was that good! Overall, as Boyfriend put it - this is absolutely a hidden gem type of spot - service was spectacular, food was delicious and we would totally return! (**Seated next to us were two young women on an obvious first date - girl #1 showed up, then girl #2 showed up a few minutes later with a big bouquet of flowers... what a nice touch! We just wanted to put it out in the universe - we hope you guys make it, you were super cute :)**)

I was warmly greeted, seated, and given a menu and then it took some time, well after I was ready, to be visited to place my order. No biggie, but I was ready and it wasn't busy, with guests at 1 other table. When I finished my meal, I waited again. Not a huge problem but a lot of side work was being done vs providing service. I let server know I was all set and he acknowledged then continued to make drinks for kitchen staff. I had ordered lemonade but after checking, it looked like they were out, so he offered the juice (without explaining). Food was very tasty. Lunch was $37 before tip, for 3 tacos meal, 3 empanadas app, and the fruit drink.

The atmosphere at this brewery is genuinely wonderful, and the wait staff is kind and attentive,…read moremaking the initial visit quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn when the food arrived. I ordered a $4.00 slice of pizza, but quality control was completely absent. When the slice finally arrived at the table, it was old, reheated, and burnt--something anyone looking at it would immediately recognize as unfit to serve. What makes this completely baffling is that this subpar item was brought out directly by one of the owners. When ownership is directly involved in handing over a stale, burnt product that should have been discarded, it raises serious questions about why the kitchen let it pass their quality control and why leadership chose to serve it. A great taproom vibe and polite servers cannot compensate for a standard where food of that caliber is passed off to a customer. RESPONSE TO OWNER I spent 4 years during college (almost every day) making pizzas. After the first month, I was in charge of producing the dough, cheese, sauce, and prepping the condiments. We developed a dough that uses multiple flours, a mixture of cheeses rather than a single cheese on top, and we bloomed the spices for our raw sauce to enhance and retain its flavor. I can taste a pizza and tell you the quality of the cheese, whether the dough was made properly, and how fresh it is. A properly made slice should sag a little when held -- not stand stiff like a board or snap apart. The fact that part of the crust was black, there were black spots on the bottom, the sauce was discolored, and the cheese was flat against the slice indicated the slice had been refrigerated and reheated. When you first heat a pie, depending on the cheese blend, there is always oil released due to the fat content in the cheese. When cheese is heated, its fat begins to liquify and separate, so the amount of oil released is proportional to the cheese's fat content. That is exactly why we mixed cheese types: to control fat release and enhance flavor. Your slice was completely dry. Selling a slice for $4.00 or more does not guarantee quality -- it only means people are willing to pay it. The fact that your response included details that never happened leads me to believe the explanation was fabricated to avoid acknowledging the slice was reheated. When a business invents facts instead of addressing the actual issue, it tells me the problem isn't the customer -- it's the product. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed budget, and I don't go out to eat often. When I do, even for something as simple as a slice of pizza, I look for establishments that take pride in what they serve and respect their customers by putting out quality items. I might not always agree with every preparation choice, but I do expect honesty and accountability. Your reply didn't acknowledge the problem -- it shifted responsibility onto me instead of simply apologizing for a bad slice. That kind of defensiveness doesn't build trust. I'm not looking for a free slice or a pint; I was looking for pride in the product that enhances the dining experience and respect for the customer by both presenting a quality product and being honest. Your response didn't reflect either.

I've had the pleasure and privilege of dining at some of the most reputable establishments in NYC and LA, and this ranks in the top tier. The flavors were intricate yet subtle, and I loved that it was vegetable forward. My "Not a Negroni" was the best Negroni I've had, hands down. I wasn't sure how the Rum and Pineapple Amaro would work together, but they were exquisite compliments. The homemade sourdough and butter came out hot and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. It was hard to resist ordering more. A simple salad of lettuces, cucumber, cheese and light dressing blew my mind -- perfect for summer. I got the dauphine potatoes, which were like potato croquettes, and the addition of prosciutto made them a hearty and filling dish. The only miss for me were the desserts -- the flavor of the lemon tart was excellent but there was a jello-like encasing that seemed out of place and unnecessary. The mousse also had these strange jello-like pieces in the cream, which didn't really work for me. Next time, I would get the sundae. Our server, Amanda, was friendly and attentive without being overly watchful, and when she got busy, the host came over and helped us order drinks. This place is a gem, and I look forward to returning.

Ambiance and aesthetic is candlelit romantic. Food was so delicious. It is a small menu and I believe it might change depending on the season. For appetizers we ordered ends meat city ham & herb mustard and dauphhine potatoes. Those potatoes are a must order for sure ! But let's talk about the amish golden chicken, wow it was incredible so please order this dish if on the menu! It was cooked and it sauces to its perfection. The lentils with gouda were also delicious. Cocktails are a little strong and my favorite was the Tijuana turtleneck . For dessert we ordered the Matilda sundae and chocolate mousse- they were delightful.

Wow! I can't believe it took me so long to get here. I haven't enjoyed a meal this much in a while…read more I don't get over here much, but I think I will be back soon to try more of this menu. The restaurant is gorgeous, in a former bank, they have a parking lot and a small patio. We loved the dark and moody vibe of the place. I was very excited to try some of this chefs work after drooling over the menu for weeks. We were welcomed by Vince, who was super friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. He provided great service through the whole meal. We started with martinis, they have a great cocktail program. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese olives and it was perfect, and strong. We also opted to try the Oyster Shooter, how fun! It was an oyster served with a little shot of gin with cucumber. The shot was sweeter than I expected, but I simply had to try it. We probably didn't need an appetizer, but luckily the Bao buns were the perfect size for two. The Korean fried chicken was crisp and moist and coated with a thick sweet and spicy sauce. It definitely had some heat, but it was a nice heat. The peanuts and cilantro paired great with the buns. Besides the menu, they had a number of specials for the evening, so keep your options open. We did decide to stick to the menu though. I ordered the signature duck and my sister ordered the porcini ravioli. The duck dish was stunning, I couldn't take enough photos of it, and the taste blew me away. The duck was so crispy and tender, the fatty flavor reminds you of a holiday. The carrot puree, potatoes, greens and cherries added complexity and balance to the plate. I never finish my dinner, and I ate every morsel on this plate. The porcini ravioli was no different, it was incredible. The thick creamy sauce had so much flavor we were trying to guess what was in it. It was so rich and dreamy and the additional of walnuts was a fun crunch. If you love mushrooms, get this. We loved this meal, and I will rave about it. I am coming back for the pork belly dish, soon.
