Amazing time. The Dantes detention pizza was amazing. The staff Christina was great to deal with very friendly. And the vibe of the place was cool. Great seating dog friendly outside. I will be back with friends I recommend you trying it out.

Excellent vibe, delicious specialty drinks and in house "deep fried" beers. One of the best burgers I have ever had!! Fries were great too. Pizza... excellent! Owner/ bartender in addition to the rest of the staff are attentive and the right amount of friendly. Live music was a pleasant addition. Feels like a place you would want to come to whenever possible. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped in on a Sunday to check out a new to me brewery and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience! Tried their pale ale- tastes a bit more like an IPA which I love! Also tried the DANGER ZONE weekly cocktail special - it's a must try- coffee lime and coconut explosion! The real winner was the Hot knots, got them to go and they were so crispy on the outside full of flavor (garlicky and a little heat) with THE BEST RANCH I have had to date! The staff were very personable and knowledgeable - go show them some love!

The slices - again, do not order these, they've been there all day or even from the day before.

This is a bar, you will not be served at a table. You need to put the order in at the bar, do not expect to be given plates or silverware when you are served your appetizer, it just doesn't happen. You need to throw your empty appetizer paper plate in the garbage that is on the floor located near another guest table. The server does as little as possible, anything outside the bar area is not going to happen, she will just bring you your food. You will need to leave your credit card at the register to keep an open tab. Do NOT order the slices, it looks like they were put out from the night before for show. The "Ambiance" is meh ... music, eclectic furniture, it's a bar, don't expect much. The music choice is acceptable. They have a cooler with canned/bottled drinks - you need to request for a glass and if you want ice, request that also. The spicy garlic knots were interesting, different and not bad at all. The 8 slice pepperoni pizza was good. Thin crust and crunchy, again, not bad. Oh, and the female server really doesn't have any people skills - maybe she's new - idk.

The drinks are the highlight of the space. This seems appropriate since this is a bar. The pizza by the slice leaves a lot to be desired. Overcooked to the degree that it was largely inedible. But the space is great for gathering and the service is great, even with bad pizza by the slice being meh.

Pizza was so good. Had the special ranch hot honey pepperoni. Friendly bartender. Good vibes.

    Margherita Pizza!

Night School came highly recommended by some trusted locals. This pizza is phenomenal. Everything was excellent, the sauce, crispiness of the crust and the fresh toppings. Easily my new favorite spot. The guys inside were knowledgeable and focused on consistency with both the pizza and their Deep Fried beers (one of the best micro-brewed IPAs I've had in the area, and there are hundreds). I'm surprised Dave Portnoy from Barstool hasn't reviewed them yet!

White pizza with sausage & red onion. Perfectly cooked with zero flop!

I didn't stay at the hotel because it is pretty pricey, but I visited their Lounge after getting dinner in town. Didn't have a reservation so getting into the restaurant bar was impossible but they told us we could walk around the corner to their lounge. Upon entering the lounge, we were greeted immediately and told that there was no available seating due to full reservations yet half the bar and a few of the lounge tables were empty. The guy said he would take our names and that it could be up to an hour wait so we did that and stood there. After nearly 45 minutes and those empty bar seats + lounge yankee still not being filled, he offered us a half of a couch next to another couple. We would've sat next to them sooner if only he let us! Aside from that, service was fast and drinks were good. The menu included signature cocktails that paired with the Maker's signature fragrances. I tried the Rebel which was pretty good. We ordered some bites -- the beef tartare with onion rings and a side of fries. I love a beef tartare which is so rare to find as many places offer Tuna. It really hit the spot. Moral of the story: Make a reservation!

My friend got the Naked cocktail which I personally didn't like (I'm not a fan of gin), but wow was the presentation of the cocktail incredible. Our server was friendly as well and gave us some nice suggestions for the drinks. We also walked through the hotel to its main entrance so that was nice seeing the way it was decorated.

The food menu is definitely limited, better for snacks than a meal. We got the esquites and it was ok, though a fairly small portion and the corn was either overcooked or canned. Either way, a shame at the height of local corn season. The cocktail menu seemed to highlight edgy and unconventional flavor pairings, which is generally my favorite kind of cocktail but both times the ones available were a bridge too far for my tastes. The wine list seems great, but each time I've asked questions the server or bartender has said they haven't tried it and had to go get the owner/manager. I've ordered local beer (none on tap, sadly, but some good local cans) and martinis, some of which are served in little swing top bottles on ice. When the bill came, I was shocked that our standard martinis cost $17 each, which was inexplicably more expensive than the fancy cocktails on the high proof menu (which all ranged from $14-16).

The second time it was oddly empty, but I generally have few complaints. The cocktails are delicious and original, and the list of tinned fish is unusual and vast. Sure, the food menu might not be for everyone (the few other reviews mention that the food is strange and/or unapproachable), but if you put aside your reservations what's offered really is quite good. I hope Padrona picks up in the coming months/years, because it's got great energy and has lots of potential. Most recently, we came here around around 8:30 on a Thursday night. As I mentioned, it was pretty empty. A few parties inside, a few outside. Not sure if it was just a down night or if people haven't discovered yet, but no matter. The place certain has potential for great vibes: good music, beautiful decor, nice feng shui. We ended up sitting at the bar just to get a front row seat to the action, which is always fun. I would say Padrona is much more of a drinks destination than a food destination, but we wanted to get a sense of the full menu so we ordered both, Drinks-wise, we like just about everything we tried. I started with the Haus Martini (olive oil washed gin, cocchi americano, salers, pickled tomato), which was such a smooth and elegant martini variation. I then tried the Pretty Hot Thing (mezcal, ancho reyes, yellow bell pepper, serrano pepper, honey), which had all the right components of a good mezcal drink - spice, smokiness, and vegetals notes. I finished with the most nightcap-worthy drink on the menu, the Smoke Gets in Your Eye (scotch, amaro china china, porter syrup) which was smoky, rich, and just delicious. My partner tried the OG Slush (mezcal, thai chili infused aperol, smoked agave, lime, sumac) and the French Gold (cognac, ginger liqueur, oro blanco grapefruit, honey, preserved grapefruit), and he preferred the flavor profile of the French Gold. The food here is fun and unique. I wouldn't recommend making a dinner out of it as we did (more on that in a moment), but I don't regret our approach. We ended up getting the English Pea and Mint Hummus, the Charcuterie and Cheese Board, the Nuri Spiced Mackerel, and the Razor Clams. I would say our favorites were the hummus and clams, but everything was solid. What I did not expect was the sheer amount of bread/crostini we received for dipping. Nothing could have prepared us for that! We ended up taking the leftovers home but in retrospect perhaps we could have ordered one fewer thing.

By day, you know it as the Mercantile, the small coffee shop/bakery attached to Wm. Farmer and Sons. Though small in size and in what it offers, Willy's is a formidable venue. The cocktail program was created by the guy who created that of Wm. Farmer and Sons, which is probably the best of its kind in Hudson. As you'd guess, all drinks are rum-based (feel free to order from the adjacent bar if you're not feeling rum but in my opinion, only pop in here if you're looking for some funky rum cocktails). I'm not typically into rum, but I can be swayed if a drink is good enough. Such was the case here, and it didn't surprise me. Come here for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap and learn a bit about a spirit you might've not thought much about prior to visiting. Welcome to the scene! Came here with my bf on a Friday night. We were getting dinner at Wm. Farmer and Sons but arrived a bit early for our reservation. Our gracious host recommend that we hang by the bar, OR, try out Willy's, just through the entryway. We apparently visited on its opening night, and I hope it enjoys a good life here. The hostess informed us that the cocktail menu there was different than that at Wm. Farmer and Sons--all rum-based--but if we weren't feeling rum, the bartender could still whip anything up from the restaurant's main menu. As I mentioned, the space itself is teeny tiny. Standing room only--more of a place to stop in as opposed to posting up and staying awhile. Just like its parent restaurant, the vibe in here is cozy and welcoming. Let's get to the important stuff: drinks. Everything at Willy's is rum-based. Even if you're not a rum lover, don't just assume you'll prefer the cocktail menu at Wm. Farmer and Sons better. I usually go for whiskey or gin, but I was thrilled with what I tried here. That said, if you come here and for some odd reason decide that you want to stay in this space but order from the other bar, you can indeed do that. I just don't suggest it, because what's the point? Between me and my bf, we tried the Mai Tai (Jamaican Rum, Bajan Rum, Rhum Agricole, Fresh lime juice, Curacao, Orgeat, Overproof Rum float) and the Fish House Punch (Jamaican Rum, Cognac, Peach Liquer, fresh lemon juice, soda water). Both fun tropical drinks, nice for the beginning of spring. Expertly crafted and impeccably balanced. I suppose I preferred the Fish House Punch slightly, but they were both fantastic. I thought the peach/cognac pairing was quite nice, rich but still refreshing. They also offer a Daiquiri and an Old Fashioned here, with your rum of choice. I'd probably recommend exploring that route if you want to explore different rums and understand a bit more about what each type brings to the table. I know lots about gin and whiskey and don't care to know too much more about rum (plus I don't like rum-based, spirit-forward drinks so the old fashioned would be a no-go) so it wasn't for me. That said, the bartender here is as knowledgable as they come and I somewhat regret not asking him about his selection to learn a bit more. They've got some fun stuff here that's worth looking into. Cheers!

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.
