Our drinks were constantly refilled, and the food came out perfect and it was an experience that we don't often get at restaurants often things are forgotten or left off And we end up having to call somebody over in order to get things but she was on point the whole time. I could not ask for a better waitress. The food was absolutely amazing. It was delicious and very juicy and was not dry which often times happens when you order food especially Rubens because they don't know how to cook the meat correctly but they did a heck of a job! Kudos to the cooks! The atmosphere was very pleasant for the most part, but this is where it did lose the one star. Things were extremely close together by things I mean tables, and it was very difficult at times to hear each other, because we were right next to the kitchen where they dump the plates, and all we kept hearing was the smashing of plates into a bin, and it was very difficult to hear. there were plenty of other tables available but they put us at that one so we kind of wondered why they would put us right next to the kitchen where it was so noisy but I'm also glad that they did because we got that waitress, which made up for the distraction and the noise. I definitely would recommend anyone who is in the area to stop by the Glenville queen diner. It is definitely something that is worth trying out and I would definitely say that I am going there again and probably again after that.

Unfortunately, tonight's experience was very different, and it will be our last visit. My husband and I went for dinner. He ordered breakfast, and I ordered the chopped sirloin steak with mushroom gravy. When my meal arrived, the steak was completely covered in gravy. Once I moved the gravy aside, the meat looked more like a hamburger than a steak. After cutting into it and tasting it, I found the texture extremely odd--like ground beef formed into a steak--and it had virtually no flavor. My husband tasted it as well and agreed. I told our waiter, who looked at it and agreed it appeared unusual. He spoke with the manager and came back telling me the only thing they could offer was a box to take it home. I explained that I didn't want to take home something I wasn't going to eat and asked that they take it back. After waiting about 10 minutes, the manager, Sherry, came to the table. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she explained that what I ordered was exactly what I received and proceeded to explain what a chopped steak was. I understand now that their chopped steak is essentially ground/chopped beef formed back together and served with gravy. However, that is not what I expected when ordering a "chopped sirloin steak," and I believe the menu should clearly explain how it is prepared. When I said I would not be eating or paying for the entrée, she responded, "But you will pay for the side salad and fries that you ate," and walked away before I could respond. I found her attitude extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The sides weren't impressive either. The salad was very wet and unappetizing, so I gave it to my husband, and the fries were roughly half a potato and tasted greasy. Yet I was charged $6.99 for the salad and $4.19 for the fries. I did speak with Hector afterward and explained what happened. He told me that the waiter, who was new, should have explained exactly what the chopped steak was before I ordered it. I appreciated his acknowledgment because that is exactly how this situation could have been avoided. I would have gladly ordered another entrée and paid for it if the situation had been handled differently. Instead, I was offered a box for a meal I didn't want and then treated poorly when I declined. It's unfortunate because we have enjoyed this diner in the past. But between the misleading description of the entrée and the way my concern was handled by management, we will not be returning.
