Shirley's, we're so happy we found you. We moved literally the next block over and pass Shirley's on the way to the Y everyday. Everytime we want to try, it's always closed or we just get our craving at the wrong time of day. This time--we actually PLANNED properly :) Shirley's gives off that traditional small town diner vibes, you know, the one where the waitress knows ALL her regulars....that's Shirley's. We were greeted and sat immediately upon arrival. We ordered the Saratoga Omelet, pancakes, one of their breakfast plates and coffee. My omelet was DELICIOUS. I usually do NOT take breakfast leftovers home (just because I don't reheat eggs)...but this omelet was SO good that I actually did reheat it at 3:15 in the afternoon later that day to finish. No issues with service at all. Our coffee stayed hot, and food came out in ample time. I can't wait to bring our visiting family members when they're in town! Also--you MUST buy a souvenir cup!

Healthy omelette - tomato, onion, avocado and cheddar. Sooooo good !

Can't believe all the years I've lived in the area and never came here. It was so good!!! Will definetely be back soon. Great service, great atmosphere and great food!!! Thought it was a little pricey until food came out and saw how big the portions were and how fresh everything was.

What a disappointment. I went one morning after working a night shift so the place wasn't busy;I was one of 3 tables there. They took my order quickly and my food came out fast; and that's the end of the good news. Potatoes lacked seasoning and omelette was average. Waitress gave me my bill a few minutes after getting my food and never checked on me again. I sat for over 15min waiting for her to come around so I could request a to go box, but she never came around again. I had to go to the counter to ask for a container. I was so disappointed with the service that I didn't receive that I only left a 15% tip. I was sad at this experience; I was hoping to have a new breakfast spot to go after work.

Small but mighty diner that serves delicious food with friendly service and fair prices. I stopped to Shirley's on a Monday morning to have brunch with my family and it was packed! Which to me meant the food had to be great. After being seated we were able to order within 5 minutes. 15 minutes after ordering our food was heading to our table. There were no complaints only empty plates from my children who ordered breakfast entrees. I will definitely keep Shirley's on my favorites list of places to dine with my daughters whenever we are in the Saratoga Springs area.

We asked if we could get the Irish Benny but on a waffle and they hooked it up! This was awesome! This place never disappoints.

Great local diner. Food and service are always great. Biscuits and gravy and smoked meat omelets.

What a friendly hometown diner! It wasn't real busy at the time I was there (thank goodness because I had my two year old niece on a mission. There was a couple having a late lunch. The gentleman was reminiscing about days gone by when he was a child having breakfast at this diner. My little niece had to say hello. The owner came in with Christmas decorations that he started sprinkling around. It is a very friendly place. The server was very friendly and patient. I appreciated that. We ordered a club and a grilled Reuben,, a salad, a children's meal with chicken fingers and french fries and drinks. All yummy and served quickly. Our server was so friendly and took the time to chat a bit with us and the other couple. It was a nice stop after a busy afternoon.

Classic hometown feel. Menu is extensive and food is very tasty. Alex was very friendly, welcoming and took the time to go over specials. Environment relaxing. TY!

Country Style Breakfast & Healthy Omelette w/ bacon & toast on the side

This is the spot for breakfast/brunch if you are in a rush but want a hot meal. We arrived and there was a sign to sit yourself. Then the waitress came and asked what we would like to drink. Immediately she brought us coffee and water. Within 5 min she came back to get our orders. I ordered the country breakfast which included 2 eggs any style, sausage (links or patties) bacon, home fries/ hash browns with either pancakes/french toast. I mean it was a big breakfast while my date ordered the healthy omelette with home fries and bacon strips and rye toast on the side. Then when you're ready you can go the counter and pay your billl with no waiting involved. The waitress did a phenomenal job as customers kept coming in. Great service, quick and delicious.

I first heard about this place when Bobby Flay mentioned it as one of his favorite places to eat in Saratoga. When I heard that, I knew it had to be one of my stops when I was in town. Not only is this one of his favorite restaurants, he even had the chef on his show Beat Bobby Flay. During peak season, it can get pretty busy as the space is small. They don't take reservation or call ahead to get on the list but once on the list they will take down your number and text you when your table is ready, giving you time to wander around other spots to fill the time. So is it worth the wait, heck yes! We went early during Belmont week so fortunately we didn't have to wait too long. We got the zucchini bread platter, lemon ricotta pancakes (as seen on Beat Bobby Flay), and the Saratoga sandwich. The pancakes were so simple yet delicious. The zucchini bread was tasty but a little too toasted/grilled for me. The sandwich was hearty and filling but wouldn't be my go to (not a huge breakfast person). Overall worth a visit especially if you have a sweet tooth and love breakfast vibes in a cute little restaurant,

Seating is crowded, service--while overall nice--was rude when it came to the server we got. She may have been having a bad day, but definitely ended up taking it out on us. Ended up making us feel very unwelcome to the point we decided it was better to try and just get going. The granola was stale alongside the underripe blackberries in the parfait we'd ordered. Had an eye for something sweetly comforting and the food just doesn't match up. Overall, for the wait it has, it's not worth the mediocre food inside. Also, unrelated, but not exactly a place to stop by, get some coffee, and read as you'd maybe look for in a café. So if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend elsewhere.

Their fried chicken - which they specialize in - is truly fantastic. Cooked to perfection. They also offer Belgian waffles and special French toast - with a hint of orange flavor. The service prompt and attentive. The only downside is parking the restaurant is on a side street and it is a minor miracle if you can find a spot. So, unless you get lucky be prepared for a bit of a hike. We definitely recommend trying this place if you are in the area.

Coming from NYC, we were not quite shocked by the prices, but if you're not used to dining in Manhattan, you might be. That said, the portions are of the upstate variety, so you may not want to order quite as many plates as you might in the city. (We were bursting at the end of the meal.) Our server was helpful in narrowing down all the things we wanted to order. We were a little more intrigued by the starters than the mains, and so we rolled with the wedge salad, the crispy oysters, and the imported burrata. These were all excellent decisions. The wedge is everything you ever wanted in a wedge salad. Pickled red onions for acid, bacon for bacon, roasted tomatoes, crispy onions for texture, all tied together by a creamy dill blue cheese dressing. I'm not exaggerating, this was one of the best wedges I can remember, and I've had more than my share. The burrata was burrata. The cheese was creamy, paired with some port wine apple jam for sweetness, fresh basil, and hazelnut nougat. It was quite good, if not exactly special, and a hearty plate with the grilled focaccia accompaniment. The crispy oysters was one of the best things I've eaten this year. Perfectly fried fresh oysters are never bad, but they were laid over this incredible corn pudding that was rich and creamy and set off by the bacon and bone marrow jam, and a bit of roasted poblano. Honestly, this dish alone made the entire experience. Truly. We suspected we may be going overboard with the starters, but we were full after they were done. The Falkland Islands sea bass we ordered for a main felt like as much of an afterthought as a $60 plate of fish can. To be honest, I expected to love its Asian flavor profile (miso-marinated, bok choy, shiitakes, snow pea salad, crispy wasabi and shallots), but it fell a little flat. Well cooked, but it was outshined by the oyster dish. One final note: If and when I return, I'll stick to wine over cocktails. I'm not sure if it's because it was a Tuesday and the B team was on call, but of the three cocktails I tried, two were off-balance, and just not of the caliber I expect at this price point, at a restaurant of this quality.
