While the draft beers available are not likely to attract those interested mostly in craft beers, the variety offered should be sufficient to accommodate those looking for a good brew to pair with the food they order. And we're talking about homemade pub food. While my companions chose sodas to go with their burgers, I decided on a Fiddlehead IPA ($5.50). My wife ordered the Cheddar & Bacon Burger (19 klams) and two of us ordered the Smokehouse Burger (19 klams). All burgers are half-pound, hand-crafted, freshly ground beef served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a grilled brioche roll. They are also accompanied by fresh-cut fries and pineapple slaw. We all ordered our burgers medium-rare, and the kitchen complied. While the Cheddar & Bacon Burger is self-explanatory, the Smokehouse Burger includes a brown sugar BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a homemade onion ring. The bacon on all our burgers was thick, crispy, and very tasty. The side of pineapple slaw was fresh and flavorful, the fries were better than average, and the rolls were soft and tasty. The burger was served open face with tomato slices, crisp lettuce, red onions, blue cheese crumbles (my choice on top of a firm fresh grilled beef burger patty on a soft toasted bun. The hot golden coated fries were typical crisp outside and soft inside, ketchup cup provided on plate (could've used a bit more). His owner, who I assume is the owner who runs the restaurant, wasn't too far behind and apologized for the dog's intrusion on our evening, but since we're animal lovers, it was very welcome. We chatted with the owner and visited with Connor, who was such a calm and sweet dog. When our tacos showed up, the owner excused himself and Connor to let us eat. The woman who greeted us when we first came in also checked with us near the end of our meal to ask how we felt about our meal. We had a wonderful time and both of us expressed how impressed we were with our tacos. A second beer for me, and then our most difficult decision was what to try for dessert. The young lady waiting on us gave us a dizzying array of options, all of which sounded excellent, but we settled on a lemon raspberry cake option. I hope we didn't moan too loudly as we enjoyed it so much. Our experience was so enjoyable. I'm thrilled we have yet another gift certificate to use up here, as we'll be looking forward to our next visit. Unfortunately their hours are limited due to the end of daylight and golf season. This often means omitting the cheese. And here is where I think this should have been a five star experience but they lost me on this... burgers can substitute a Beyond patty for an additional $3, infact, the only burger on the menu made entirely vegan is the "Far Beyond Lark" with fries which was price at $24. Literally the most expensive burger on the menu. It's 2026, the cost of Beyond or Impossible meat is almost the same as beef. Why are vegans still being penalized to pay a higher price when dining out? If anything make the vegan burger the same price as the others and add a $1 substitution fee to make any of the others vegan with vegan cheese, Beyond burger patty, and vegan mayonnaise. Just a thought. All the burgers come on a lovely toasted brioche bun but because it contains egg, the vegan substitute is a sad gluten free bun of dispare and remorse. The cauliflower wings were delicious, I got Nashville Hot but something in them almost gave me Indian food vibes like a curry of some kind? The fries are the absolute best, I love a basket of good hand cut French fries.
