I was in the Clifton Park area looking for a place to eat when The Exchange caught my interest. On that premise, I decided to stop in and give it a try. Knowing that, I ordered the medium wings as an appetizer and they were tasty. To make clear, the wings were crispy and juicy. Also, the sauce was flavorful and had a nice spice to it. Following that, I ordered the Barn Burger with fries for my entree. With that known, the burger was delicious. To explain, the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. Similarly, the garlic mayo was excellent and it helped elevate the burger. In addition, the bun was fresh and enjoyable. My only problem with the burger was that the caramelized onions were undercooked. However, the burger was still very good. In like manner, the fries were pretty tasty as well. To enlighten, the fries were hot, crispy, and salted well. As a final point, The Exchange is a good restaurant with solid burgers and fries. read more

Went for the first time with a group right before closure. Group of 4, they allowed us to split plates. I had a mixed drink and then the shrimp tacos. The siracha mayo gave the tacos just the right amount of spice, and don't let it fool you being listed on the appetizers menu, because it is a whole meal in itself. I don't know if the siracha overpowered the blackened seasoning, or if the blackened was just grilled. From the owners of the Manhattan Exchange in Schenectady, The Exchange opened a few weeks ago in the former Main Street Grille in Jonesville. This historic old grain and feed building now houses an American (New) restaurant and bar and has a casual farmhouse atmosphere inside with wood floors and painted white walls and wooden walls. The place is cozy which has the bar with seating, 4 flat screen TVs, high top tables, and regular table seating in the adjacent section. There is also outside patio seating too. The food menu offers a variety of small plates, appetizers, salads, burgers, steaks, chicken, pasta, and seafood dishes. The prices here are moderate. The bar offers 5-6 draft beers, bottled beers, wine, and cocktails. I stopped by The Exchange for dinner recently. However, I arrived here at a very busy time and there were folding tables placed across the entrance driveway . The other driveway was open to traffic. There were also big open air tents setup near the back parking area, so they probably set up those folding tables to block traffic from the tents. Upon entering the restaurant, I was told the wait to be seated to order food and drinks was about an hour. If I wanted just drinks, I could sit up at the bar immediately. I decided to put in my name, do some things nearby and come back an hour later, which I did. Once I was seated at the bar (my choice), I was given a laminated menu to look over. I already made decisions ahead of time and placed my food order. I started out with the Piri Piri Meatballs ($14 plus tax) which had 3 firm homemade meatballs in a mild spicy Piri Piri sauce over very soft capellini, topped with parmesan cheese & herbs. For dinner, the Airline Chicken ($24 plus tax) had a pan seared bone-in chicken breast with sweet chili glaze, roasted fresh asparagus and light fried rice pilaf with firm rice and small carrot pieces. I had my full on both items which were both great tasting and fresh. I got the check for a small plate, a large plate, and an ice water, which came out to $40.66 (cash price) with tax and before tip. The credit/debit card price was $42.08 with tax and before tip. I paid cash of course to save 3.4%. The service at the bar was spot on and I had both plates (bowls) served together in 20 minutes after ordering. read more

Another great addition to Clifton Park dining. Which has greatly improved over the last few years and is probably one of the town's best kept secrets. Their burgers are phenomenal, and their staff is very helpful and accommodating. Cocktails are also amazing. Tuesday nights are great. Time to go not as busy.. Fantastic meal!! Went to dinner on a Thrusday evening, we were greated quickly and seated imediately. The atmospher is great a rustic feel with friendly staff. The only complaint I have it that it is a bit loud - nothing we could not talk over but would be helpful to have some more tiles to dampen the noise. The evenig was chilly so we orerd the french onion soup - it was one of the best I have ever had - rich and delcious and not to salty like many are! I orderd the Chicken Cognac which was absolutely wonderful - one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The risotto was perfecly cooked and creamy the chicken was crispy with great flavor, I loved the arugula on top a perfect dish. My husband got the Stuffed Gnocchi he also said it was one of the best meals he has had. The server was friendly and attentive, the beer selection was great, a perfect evening. read more

We recently had dinner there with friends. The food was OK. The service was OK when we arrived as we were seated immediately after the restaurant opened. The ambience was not at all to our liking. The restaurant filled up quickly and the noise level was through the roof, I can only compare it to a college campus cafeteria. But for that noise, we'd probably return to see the service & menu evolve; but the way the restaurant is set up, I don't see the noise level improving. It's not going to be "our place", but clearly, a lot of other people like this place. read more

Went there on 10/13/23. We were a party of four. My wife ordered the scallops appetizer along with the French onion soup. My friend ordered the chipotle burger medium rare without mushroom. I orders the same burger as is cooked medium. Before our meal came, my wife was notified that they were out of scallops. She changed her order to the lobster roll and canceled the soup because she wouldn't be able to eat an appetizer and full meal. They mixed up my friends and my burger. I didn't realize until cut it in half and I bit into it. My friend asked me to just switch the burgers so he only had 1/2 burger. Both burgers were medium rare We notified the hostess about these issues. Check came and we were charged for for the burger that was wrong. We talked to the waitress about it. She discussed with the manager, who sent the waitress back out to tell us that since my friend ate half the burger, he would only give us half the refund. The manager finally came out to discuss with us. As the saying goes, you can't reason with an unreasonable person. He kept arguing with us and talking over us. He complained that my wife ordered the soup and then canceled. He didn't care that she was forced to change her meal because they were out of scallops. He kept arguing that he first heard about the issues five minutes before our conversation. He was an absolute nightmare to talk to and we just walked out and didn't accept his late offer of a full refund for the burger. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! read more

Stopped by for drinks and apps, the Lamb Chop app was incredible, cooked perfectly. The star of the show was the Sticky Ribs, some of the best ribs we have ever had. Great drinks as well, and a beautiful spot. Great addition to Clifton Park and we will be back frequently. read more

Went to burger night. Asked for no cheese as dairy intolerant they refused since there was no modifications. Utterly ridiculous

So disappointed. After having been regulars since it's opening we decided to take some friends there for dinner on Friday, October 13th. Aside from the fact three of our four meals were screwed up the treatment from the manager/owner was the worst I've ever experienced. You'd think he was the customer and we were the management. We did things wrong. After having waiting for a table for an hour, had we sent our meals back they would have been "expidited"...not sure how they cook a burger faster the second time around. Also, so one person eats while we wait and then we wait on them...unreasonable. I've never been interrupted or treat as poorly by a restaurant manger ever. Sadly, as much as I want to support local establishments this one is off my list. read more
