I had a really nice time here. Now mind you, it is very loud and very crowded, so if that isn't your thing maybe try a weeknight or something. Our waitress Jackie was a hoot! She was super nice, attentive, and most importantly she was super handy with the fresh cracked pepper mill! The food was very decent, small errors here and there like needing salt and pepper. Not sure if they are seasoning for an older crowd or not. I will definitely like to come back to tru more items on the menu! If you haven't yet, come try!

We came on a Thursday night for the burger and a beer deal and it was fantastic! It was the best burger we have had in the Capital Region. We also tried the Upstate whiskey flight and the strawberry rhubarb margarita and both were delicious! Such quality food and drinks for a reasonable price. Service was very good and it was a great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

I thought long and hard about taking a star away and how to explain my reasoning. We've enjoyed meals and service here, both in-house and takeout, on numerous occasions and we've always walked away feeling it was a five star experience. But on this occasion the walk away feeling was that the meal and experience did not seem exceptional. Reservations were made a week ahead of time to ensure that we would leave in time to attend an event in Saratoga. The suggested time we were given was perfect (keep the 5). We were seated in the "new room" and when my wife felt a very cold draft coming from an air vent behind her chair, our server was quick to provide a cover for the vent. Obviously, a problem they've dealt with before (keep the 5). Along with the menus we were promptly served an amuse-bouche of cucumber and sesame seed, and some house-made herbed focaccia with a white bean spread. Both were excellent (keep the 5). The draft beer selection was a nice cross section of a handful of styles, not dominated by IPAs, from mostly smaller NY breweries (keep the 5). I chose to try for the first time a beer from Schilling Beer Co. in Littleton NH, Alexandr Pilsner ($8). It was clean, refreshing, and light flavored. Upon hearing the daily specials from our server, we chose to share the Braised Calamari ($19) as an appetizer and my wife ordered the Pan Roasted Halibut ($46). I stayed with the regular menu and selected The Best Fried Chicken ($34). The Braised Calamari was outstanding (keep the 5). The non-breaded squid was perfectly cooked with pozole verde, zucchini, avocado, crispy tortilla strips, and cilantro. And I got to enjoy all the heads. The Pan Roasted Halibut was beautifully plated with smoked corn cream, fingerling potatoes, chorizo, roasted fennel, a piquillo vinaigrette, and fresh cilantro. The halibut may have been just the slightest bit overcooked, but was still moist, and the flavors of the other ingredients seemed somewhat disjointed. The Spanish style chorizo slices seemed too large for their flavor and texture to be melded with the other ingredients (not a 5 dish). It's been a long time since I've had fried chicken. Maybe I'm not being fair; maybe I don't expect a comfort dish to be outstanding. But I did enjoy it and it satisfied that craving I had. The chicken was lightly breaded and the meat from a wing, a thigh, and breast was supper moist. The apple butter was tasty on both the buttermilk biscuit and the chicken, the bacon braised greens were flavorful, and the pimiento mac & cheese were a reasonable alternative to the normal ooey-gooey variety served elsewhere (I just don't see it as a 5 dish). Finally, service was excellent. Young staff assigned to refill water glasses and buss the tables remained unobtrusive throughout dinner but presented themselves professionally at the appropriate times (keep the 5). The only distraction was the friendly bartender, who in conversation with a couple dining at the bar, spoke so loudly that he almost overpowered the excellent background music being piped in (drop the 5). Can't give a 4.5, so it gets rounded up. Looking forward to another 5 in the original dining room on our next visit.

First time, long time. My first time here yet my sister's fam have been going here for a very long time! Finally got to try it. Wow they weren't lyin! Such genuinely nice service, expansive and eclectic menu, and an impressive cocktail and mocktail offering. Had the shrimp and grits- omg best grits ever! Creamy and tasty with a creole flavor profile, I wanted to finish it all but the portion was mighty (could order half portions.) the pork chop was a standout, cooked perfectly at Medium, charred and seasoned, I scooped up an unravaged bone and took it home for later. Desserts lived up to the expectations and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this gem of a place, close enough to Saratoga and by far a neighborhood hotspot!

While the ambiance was warm and welcoming and the apps were good, I can't get past 2 things: 1. Portions are generally small for the price 2. The fried chicken plate was served with a biscuit, which we initially thought was filled with cheese, but it was uncooked dough. We alerted the waiter who apologized and went back to the chef to get another one. The second biscuit they brought out was still doughy and raw in the middle. Unsure what happened there, but for $34, maybe offer a different side if you can't get it right? 4 people who shared 2 apps, 3 drinks and 3 entrees with tip ended up being almost $260. If we were in Brooklyn or Manhattan, sure, I'll expect those prices and smaller portions, but for Ballston Spa, it's not worth it.

Exceptional Food here there is no denying that...I forget I'm upstate when I'm here.... However atmosphere and service could use improvement, and unfortunately food portions are extremely small and so is the menu. What there is a lot of is Bourbon possible new name "Next Door Bourbon and Bar"

WOW! Can't believe I've never been to this restaurant ! This is in Ballston Spa, a 10 minute drive from Saratoga , but so worth getting a little out of town . Restaurant is upscale , service was excellent and food was " farm to table" fresh , tasty, and presented well. Yes the portions could be a little bigger but I'm not complaining, since it all was so delicious ! Shout out to Jeremy, our server , who was friendly and attentive .there are two attached dining rooms, each having their own bar. The first room is a little noisier, second room a little less so. I highly recommend coming here. They have outdoor seating in front, when weather permits. Parking on the street. I'm only sorry we just discovered this restaurant !

We had read that it was the same people who run Hamlet and Ghost, so we wanted to check it out. The inside is gorgeous, bright and welcoming. The menu is Montreal inspired, which we noticed immediately, and loved. We just wanted to split a couple things to try, so we ordered the poutine with duck confit and the steak tartare. The Poutine was fabulous! They ultra crispy house made fries had such good flavor on their own, but were made incredible with the gravy, melty cheese curds and decadent duck. This dish was amazing. The steak tartare was also very good and fresh, the house made chips were also killer. Last but not least, the maple soft serve. Heavenly! Ultra creamy and smooth with a great depth of maple flavor. The caramel swirl and crunchy nibs on the top were so good. I am not a big sweets person, but I would order this again for sure. Delicious. This is a hidden gem and surprised us all! I can't believe I haven't heard more about this place. 10/10 recommend.

The table was a bit sticky when sitting down, but otherwise it felt pretty clean. The food was decent - I found the appetizers much better than the entrees. Fries and peppers were very solid to share. The dish I got was extremely bland and had no flavor, I had to drench it in hot sauce to get even any sort of taste; if I were eating this place solely based on the food, it'd be a 3, however the additional activities and the drinks raised this to a 4. The drinks were solid, we ended up buying a bottle of their sweet white wine afterwards since we liked it so much. Service was good, food came out pretty quickly. Waters were a bit sparse, but other than that, we felt well taken care of. After eating, we spent an hour or so at one of their outdoor covered spots to play games. I'm unsure if they require a reservation or anything, but we were the only ones out there and no one came out to talk to us so I assume if it's free, you're able to go out. Overall, we enjoyed our time - I probably wouldn't come back, but I think it was a nice spot for brunch when visiting Saratoga for a one-time meal.

The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.

Memorable for all the wrong reasons and added to one other anniversary dinner, as a sad experience. We started out with the olive and flatbread appetizer. Massive plate of olives with a "tapenade" on the plate that basically was the same olives poorly smashed up and added to the plate. The accompanying flatbread was stale and subpar quality of bread. This dish could be easily fixed by adding in some roasted red peppers and feta. They could easily go up the street to Saratoga Olive Oil company and get a quality oil and balsamic to drizzle on this mess. Otherwise all there is a plate of bitter olives and stale bread. For dinner we ordered the Salmon with mashed sweet potatoes and Brussels. The salmon was just okay. The Brussels were horribly done you could tell they were boiled first and then broiled but clearly boiled too long. Both the Brussels and mashed sweet potatoes lacked flavor of any kind, just bland. We ate the salmon and left the rest. Lastly, we ordered the trio of eggplant. The menu description is more exciting than the sad reality of this plate. When you say trio you would think 3 distinct flavors, however, what you get is just one hot mess of a plate. The eggplant pieces are cut entirely too thick. The eggplant is NOT fried and barely cooked at all. I can't even begin to figure out how they cooked that eggplant. Undercooked eggplant is a cringey experience anywhere! The sauce on the plate is really what sent me over the edge! It tasted like the sauce from the can of spaghetti O's from childhood. Instantly took me back to eating spaghetti O's. Needless to say we didn't dare ask for dessert. After spending over $135 bucks for that mess we couldn't get out of there fast enough. First time I left an anniversary dinner still hungry!
