Cute newer place in downtown Saratoga right across from Solevo. Focus on small plates and I really love that because I gave this the opportunity to try a bevy of things and see what we liked. It did take a while for the food to come out and it wasn't very busy so that was a little frustrating. Loved the options they had on the charcuterie board and would eat that every day. They also had this mushroom terrene. That was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my whole life. It had a pesto and some arugula, and I think some goat cheese... Obviously mushrooms on the seated sourdough that was to die for. However, my friend went back two days later and they said their menu is seasonal and it rotates and they didn't have it on the menu anymore. So if they happen to have it absolutely order it. I thought the potatoes were boring. The broccolini was charred and needed a ton more sauce and salt. The bone marrow came out nice and had good flavor, but I thought the salt was a sauce and took a heaping spoonful of it and nearly sent myself into shock. Overall, though like the vibe and the ambience. Love being able to share small plates, so would eat at again.

This is a wine bar that knows wine! There is something on the curated menu for everyone. To drink we chose a bottle of Chenin Blanc from the loire valley, a glass of the orange wine and a midori fizz. For food we ordered the cheeseboard that was customizable with several options (our choices: buttery goat cheese, cows milk cheese, smoked perch, country pate, olives) and included a baguette. We also ordered focaccia bread and Caesar salad. Everything was delivered by course which is good since the table was small. The only miss for us was the Caesar salad. The dressing with very heavy on lemon and didn't allow the other flavors to come through. We will definitely be back for date night. They know how to find incredible wine and pair it with delicious food.

Incredible food and service!!! Cannot wait to go back. Sitting at the bar was perfect on a cold snowy night.

Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end)…read more I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.

I had a seasonal apple flavored cocktail that didn't have much apple flavor. We got two entrees to share. The squash ravioli is out of this world!! Seriously delicious, really great flavor, loved the pepitas! The steak frites was disappointing. The potatoes and aioli were good but the steak came out cold, a bit over done, and chewy. Service was really kind, our server was friendly and answered all our questions.

My husband and I frequent Saratoga every year. We have dined at numerous establishments and decided…read moreto try this one on our 25th wedding anniversary. BIG mistake!!! Memorable for all the wrong reasons and added to one other anniversary dinner, as a sad experience. We started out with the olive and flatbread appetizer. Massive plate of olives with a "tapenade" on the plate that basically was the same olives poorly smashed up and added to the plate. The accompanying flatbread was stale and subpar quality of bread. This dish could be easily fixed by adding in some roasted red peppers and feta. They could easily go up the street to Saratoga Olive Oil company and get a quality oil and balsamic to drizzle on this mess. Otherwise all there is a plate of bitter olives and stale bread. For dinner we ordered the Salmon with mashed sweet potatoes and Brussels. The salmon was just okay. The Brussels were horribly done you could tell they were boiled first and then broiled but clearly boiled too long. Both the Brussels and mashed sweet potatoes lacked flavor of any kind, just bland. We ate the salmon and left the rest. Lastly, we ordered the trio of eggplant. The menu description is more exciting than the sad reality of this plate. When you say trio you would think 3 distinct flavors, however, what you get is just one hot mess of a plate. The eggplant pieces are cut entirely too thick. The eggplant is NOT fried and barely cooked at all. I can't even begin to figure out how they cooked that eggplant. Undercooked eggplant is a cringey experience anywhere! The sauce on the plate is really what sent me over the edge! It tasted like the sauce from the can of spaghetti O's from childhood. Instantly took me back to eating spaghetti O's. Needless to say we didn't dare ask for dessert. After spending over $135 bucks for that mess we couldn't get out of there fast enough. First time I left an anniversary dinner still hungry!

The table was a bit sticky when sitting down, but otherwise it felt pretty clean. The food was decent - I found the appetizers much better than the entrees. Fries and peppers were very solid to share. The dish I got was extremely bland and had no flavor, I had to drench it in hot sauce to get even any sort of taste; if I were eating this place solely based on the food, it'd be a 3, however the additional activities and the drinks raised this to a 4. The drinks were solid, we ended up buying a bottle of their sweet white wine afterwards since we liked it so much. Service was good, food came out pretty quickly. Waters were a bit sparse, but other than that, we felt well taken care of. After eating, we spent an hour or so at one of their outdoor covered spots to play games. I'm unsure if they require a reservation or anything, but we were the only ones out there and no one came out to talk to us so I assume if it's free, you're able to go out. Overall, we enjoyed our time - I probably wouldn't come back, but I think it was a nice spot for brunch when visiting Saratoga for a one-time meal.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.
