The family came here for date night and I ordered a double cheeseburger here for myself, and one of their smaller single burgers for my son. A regular fries and a drink brought the total to around $27 (!). Food was ready in about 5 minutes (they give you a light-up device so you don't have to wait in line) and we took it to our table. I have eaten at another location and knew what to expect. The burger was very good, though also greasy. I like thin, crispy burgers and they do it well though despite the handy paper handle to hold it with your fingers will get very messy. My son absolutely loved his burger too. The fries were much better than what I had experienced at their other location. These seemed pre-cut, perhaps pre-frozen, and coated in cornstarch. The top of the container were nice and crispy though they got soggy as you went down. I wish they arranged them flat on a plate, which might keep their texture better (though result in them getting colder faster). All in all, I like this place. Their prices are very steep for the small burgers you get, but they are high quality. So, I dunno. I can't come here more than for special occasions but when I do I think I will just stick with the burgers and skip the fries. read more

An okay burger with okay service In the area for some soccer business, and we ended up finding a little market for us to try a bunch of different places. I was intrigued by the MyBacon alternative, so I opted to get a single patty lil herbie with some fake bacon on it. The service was very apathetic. They did take my order but they also seemed annoyed that I was only getting a single burger. I shrugged it off, figured it was just a dreary day so I was fine. Asked for to-go, got a beeper and sent on my way. Eventually the food was done, I swung by, got my burger on a tray, and I went on my way. Took pictures and tried some bites. Overall, it was fine but not great. The burger was a smash patty with no seasoning. so it was cooked and had the classic smash burger crispy burger bits but little flavor. The bun was soft, the cheese was your standard american slice so it tasted okay. The fake bacon was pretty good. pretty much cooked to a crisp and a little salty. It tastes like a very crispy bacon piece that was patted bone dry with paper towels. not bad, not sure if it's worth an extra 2 bucks but it was worth a try. At this point, I've visited all of the Herbie's Burgers in the Albany area (currently 3, but I expect more to be built). I still prefer a crafted burger in a pub over any of the "chain burgers," but among those, I feel Herbie's competes with the best. They is a little bit of inconsistency among them. For example this Herbie's is where I've had my favorite burgers but least favorite fries (not that they are awful or anything, see below). My burger here was well prepared, and the all-important bacon was crisp and flavorful. The best description I can use for the fries is "all over the place," and I use that term for multiple meanings. First, there's the quantity. An order of "regular" fries is enough to feed 2 or 3 people. As per my photo, the portion was literally overflowing out of the container and all over my tray. But the quality was a bit all over the place as well. These fries - matchstick or shoestring style - were a mish-mash. Some fries were perfect, others were burnt matchsticks, some were slightly undercooked, and in general they were slightly greasier than they need to be. But while they are still warm, they are absolutely delicious with enough to share. When it comes to their milkshakes, I am a vanilla type of guy and will always be satisfied with their vanilla milkshakes. But I hear high praise for their banana milkshakes. And one dining companion last night raved about the vegan milkshakes. I was scratching my head until she explained that they use tahini. That made them immediately more interesting to me, and she said their strawberry vegan milkshake is positively addicting. This review update could have been a rant. It could have had me remove a star, or two..., or maybe even three. But I want you to learn from my experience and this review, so you know what to expect. Because these burgers are so good, IMHO, there is not a valid enough reason to avoid enjoying a burger from Herbie's. Let me start by explaining that upon my first visit to this Herbie's location in 9/22, I observed that it took what I considered to be a longer time than normal for my order to be filled at a fast-food stand. So, I thought I could outsmart Herbie's this time by ordering online with a scheduled pickup time at least an hour later. I arrived at Herbie's counter at 6:17, two minutes after the requested pickup time, and was informed that the cook was working on my order. Twenty-three minutes later my order was handed to me. Now this may seem like an unreasonable amount of time to wait for an order to be filled, and apparently it was for those who were already waiting for their orders when I arrived. I'm sure that partially helps to explain why they cancelled their order about the time that my order was handed to me. Proper cooking takes time, even for burgers. My wife had a Single Cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap ($6.95) with a request to hold the onions. That was exactly how it was prepared with the standard inclusion of tomato, pickles, and house-made nerdy sauce. She declared it was delicious. I ordered a Double Cheeseburger with bacon ($10.95) and all the standard toppings. Love those crispy edges on the burger. We shared a large order of French Fries ($3.95) but we may want to consider ordering two regular, or even two large, the next time since the fries are that good. Final Note: When you order online you are ordering through Mealeo. I was surprised that the prices through Mealeo matched the prices posted at Herbie's. Frequently, online ordering apps charge slightly more. Back in 9/22 I also noted that Herbie's charged a non-cash adjustment if you used a credit card. I don't know if that is still their policy when paying at their counter, but there was no non-cash adjustment charge through Mealeo. Now I simply wonder how long I would have had to wait if I had placed my order in person. read more

Been a while since we visited Galleria 7 food court so decided to stop by for lunch. Saw this burger place and positive reviews for it so decided to try them out. Got a double cheeseburger with all standard toppings and a regular sized fries. Burger tasted great, much better than standard fast food. More like Elevation burger or 5 Guys in the good way. Fries are thinly cut and excellent. Very generous portions. Taste freshly fried. Satisfy the burger and fries craving. Fountain drinks were more off brand, maybe RC or something like that? Tasted great, the diet cola made with Splenda. Prices are very reasonable for these days. Would definitely return in the future. read more

Oh dear gosh, I so wish I got a picture. This place is a burger scam. They have like 10 signs showing how thin their 1 patty burgers are so you aren't blindsided. With the price point, I had to stick with the 1 patty. Even with the warning I was still in shock! There were literally holes in the burger from the fierce smash burgers they do..... I've never had a smash burger so thin. There was no outstanding flavor profile to justify their burgers. If you have any ounce of a normal appetite I would stick to another burger joint to get you a normal size burger and at an agreeable price. A welcome addition to the Galleria 7 lineup, this is a minimalist burger joint that keeps its menu limited to three items: burgers (with a vegan option); fries; and shakes. (Plus standard fountain drinks). We were able to try both vegan and real meat varieties of the burgers, and they were both excellent. The burgers are not enormous -- they're classic hamburger size, and remind me a bit of Nifty Fifty's in Philly. Simple, tasty. The Vegan burger, though, is special: apparently an in-house formulation, it's really, really good, and the "cheese" is actual vegan cheese. Now I can't vouch for how carefully they separate vegan and non-vegan options on the grill, etc. (perhaps the owners can elaborate) so if this is important to you, you should ask or observe before ordering. You can get a single, a double, or a triple of both varieties. The buns are OK, again, better than most fast food, but not gourmet. There's not a lot in the way of exotic additions or condiments, so you get a pretty standard set of options (lettuce, pickle, tomato, etc.) They do have vegan mayo as an add! The one thing I thought the vegan burger could use was a different sauce/spread on it appropriate to the veggie patties, but then again, that would make things less simple. The fries are shoestring variety, not as good as Five Guys or In N Out but better than Mickey D's, Burger King, et alia. Everything appears to be made fresh in house. We did not try their shakes -- which come in four flavors, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and banana, and which are flavored by syrup, not different varieties of ice cream. The service transaction was a little difficult with the noise and a sort of shy counter clerk, but we'll give them a drop on that for now. Promising, and again, a vegan burger option is what will likely keep us coming back, although the one non-vegetarian member of our party will leap at the beef. read more

This restaurant recently opened nearby. The counter staff is friendly. The burgers are good but very salty. They come standard with two patties- so if you only want one be sure to specify. There is no ambiance as the restaurant is kind of just a shell and right by the road - with a lot of glass windows. Parking is fairly rough as there are not many spaces and the spaces in front leave you to try to back out onto fairly busy Western Avenue. This restaurant used to be a Stewarts and subsequently an Inferno Pizza. Nothing seems to last - which I believe is directly related to minimal parking. I hope they last. Our first visit to Herbie's and definitely impressed with the quality and freshness of their food. Our Burgers were very tasty,the buns were fresh along with the burger toppings. The handcut fries were also excellent. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant and friendly. We arrived as the lunch hour was ending, but there were plenty of seats.
