I was craving some new york style pizza while in Albany at a conference, and turned to yelp to…read morefigure out where to go and boy was I happy I did. This place came up with great reviews, albeit only a couple so far, and we decided to check it out. We drove to the location, which had limited street parking, but we were able to find a spot using my parallel parking skills, then we headed inside. It was a small place, with 2 tables that each sat 4. The TV was on, and we chatted with the guy on the counter who shared a menu with us. In the end we settled for a traditional cheese and pepperoni pizza. No one was using the tables, and we decided to eat in rather than head back to our hotel. We chatted and waited for our pizza, which was done quick and was delicious! Everything you could want from a thin new york style pizza. Good amount of cheese, charred pepperoni, not overcooked or burnt, the crust was soft and delicious. The service was awesome. Every worker we spoke to was nice and personable, without being annoying, over the top or in the way. We were offered silverware and plates, and enjoyed our pizza, before needing a box despite it being so good. I would definitely consider heading back here the next time i'm in Albany, great food AND great service at a reasonable price, what more could you want?

For context, I rate products and businesses on a simple scale: 5 stars means I love it, 4 stars…read moremeans I like it, 3 stars is okay, 2 stars means I didn't like it, and 1 star means I hated it or think it's unsafe. This was my first time at Beer Bones Bar and Grill. We went as a group of six and made a 6pm reservation, which turned out to be a good call because the place filled up quickly. It's on the smaller side and definitely gets busy. One thing to note, there is a 3% upcharge if you pay by credit card. It's posted on the door, but easy to miss if you're not looking for it. We started with pretzels and mozzarella sticks, both were very good. From there, it's clear wings are a big focus here. They have a ton of sauce options. We ordered a wing platter and tried Stebo, garlic parm, moonshine, and bourbon BBQ. The Stebo was the clear favorite for everyone, with the bourbon BBQ as my personal second. I'd definitely be interested in trying their honey BBQ next time. The wings themselves were excellent, large, meaty, crispy, and very flavorful. I'm somewhat of a wing aficionado, and these absolutely delivered. One thing that really stood out was the generous portion of celery, carrots, and blue cheese. Most places treat that as an afterthought, but not here. Everything was fresh and plentiful, which was a nice change. Bravo on that. For entrees, we were told they were out of string fries and corned beef, but pastrami was available as a substitute for Reubens. Not a big deal for our group. I ordered a cheeseburger, no tomato or onion, add lettuce, with steak fries, and asked for it well done. Others at the table ordered a Feener burger, another cheeseburger, mac and cheese, tater tots, a slider, and a Nashville hot chicken wrap. The one issue was that our waiter didn't write anything down, which made us all a little skeptical. Unfortunately, that concern turned out to be valid. One burger came out without cheese, and they were out of American, so it had to be switched to cheddar. My order came out with tomato and onion, no lettuce, and waffle fries instead of steak fries. To their credit, everything was corrected quickly. The runner brought out lettuce right away and swapped the fries, mentioning steak fries take a little longer, but they came out pretty fast. My burger itself was what I'd call medium rare rather than well done, but I was hungry and didn't send it back. Despite the mix-ups, the food across the board was very good, and the portions were large. I was full and couldn't even finish my fries, which almost never happens. Service overall was a mixed bag. The waiter was friendly and acknowledged the mistakes upfront, which I appreciated. Other staff checked in on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had napkins and wet wipes for the wings. Once the errors were announced , they were handled quickly and without any issue. I really think if the order had been written down, this could have easily been a 5 star visit. I'll definitely be back, the wings alone are worth it, and the staff did a good job recovering from the mistakes. Next time, if we're a larger group again, I might suggest writing the order down just to avoid the same issues.

I've been a devoted regular for years, visiting every Herbie's location at least 20 times each, and…read morethe food has always been outstanding. Last night's burgers were as good as ever. But the service was so disrespectful that it ruined everything. The server, Angel, treated me with outright contempt. When I asked to simply add extra patties to my order (a Herb Father, Nerdy Bird, and two loaded fries), he flat-out refused, insisting I buy them as separate full burgers instead, even though it was a simple modification. His tone was smug and dismissive, like he knew the company would back him up no matter what. To make it worse, with 30 minutes left in dinner service and the dining room half empty, they still wouldn't let me eat inside. This wasn't just poor service; it felt deliberate and entitled, as if they couldn't be bothered with a loyal customer. I've never experienced anything like this at Herbie's before, but because of this attitude and the apparent company policy that enables it, I won't be back unless I'm assured you don't have these guys in any position where they interact with customers You're losing longtime customers over preventable arrogance!

To explain, I ordered a double cheeseburger with cheese fries and it was delicious. To breakdown, the cheeseburger was excellent. The meat was juicy and tender with top tier flavor. Likewise, the sauce on the burger was sweet and tangy which elevated the flavor. Similarly, the potato bun was fresh and tasty, but the bottom of it was a bit soggy. It was simply a great burger. In similar fashion, the cheese fries were pretty good. To make clear, the fries were hot, crispy, and flavorful. Furthermore, the cheese was great and really made these fries special. In summary, 605 Smash is a great place to grab some burgers and fries.

I'm gluten-free, so I choose not to have the potato bun, which is a bummer because it looked amazing. My only gripe is the upcharge for a gluten-free bun. I completely understand paying a bit more for specialty products, but a $3 add-on felt a little steep. It actually kept me from ordering my own burger this time, so I just snagged a bite of my partner's (which was excellent). **I have had the gluten free option before and it was good, but udi's isn't my favorite (doesn't have very clean ingredients). Great tasting burger overall, but I just wish the gluten-free option felt a little more reasonable (or perhaps had a higher quality GF option for the higher price tag).
