Great addition to the Voorheesville area! We visited on a Saturday night and there was a short wait for a table, which we expected. The place is huge! There's a large dining room downstairs and one upstairs as well in addition to seating at their bar area. They also have a large outdoor patio. We were seated upstairs and our server greeted us immediately. We started with an order of their garlic knots, which were fantastic. I loved the red sauce too. They offer several different types of pizza: the New Haven Round, thin crust Grandma, Romo's Square and Gluten free. Once you decide on the style you want, you can then choose your own toppings or choose one of their specialty pizza offerings. Since my fiance lived in New Haven, we had to try their New Haven round pizza so we got the Queen Margherita as well as the Johnny Lawrence, which had sausage, cherry peppers, ricotta cheese and hot honey, in their Romo's Square 12 cut style. Both were delicious! Though there's nothing can compare to eating a New Haven pizza in New Haven, Anthony's pie does hit the spot. We thoroughly enjoyed both pizzas and we'll be back to try more things as well as enjoy their outdoor patio in the nice weather! read more

I am in town visiting friends. We stopped here to check out their Ice Bar and have dinner after. I loved the atmosphere of their outside bar. They had a bar with pre-made drinks as well as a TV to watch the Olympics. To stay warm, they had fire pits and outside heaters. It was fantastic! When our reservation was ready, we went inside to have dinner. I loved the vibe of the restaurant! It was warm and welcoming. Our server was fabulous and went over and beyond when I shared my food allergies. They were able to accommodate my dietary needs. To drink I had a chocolate covered raspberry martini. Came on a weekday evening with reservations for a party of 5 and were seated right on time! Parking was easy and decor is on point. My party ordered quite a few drinks off their drink menu and they were tasty and strong. We shared the Brussel sprouts and garlic knots and I'm still thinking about them! We also had the bad burrata, Napoli and spinach pies on 3 of their different crusts. I would order them all again but am excited to try other things on the menu. Recently visited Anthony by Romo's with some friends after hearing rave reviews since their opening. It definitely lived up to the hype. We decided to share some appetizers and two pizzas. Unless you really want an entree, I think ordering and sharing with the table is the best way to go. Here is what we ordered: Bad Burrata: cup n chat pepperoni, burrata cheese, Romano and hot honey King Cutlet: chicken cutlet, vodka sauce, Romano and fresh basil Fried Mozzarella Truffle Fries Espresso Martini The king cutlet was a grandmas style which I wasn't familiar with. It's a thin crust pan pizza and was sturdier than I was expecting. I normally like my espresso martini's black but the one here was so good. Creamy but not overly sweet. The only thing I might not get again is the truffle fries. They didn't have too much flavor and were dry. read more

So nice I've gone back twice! Anthony's is a fabulous choice for a date night or casual meet up. It's currently decorated for the holidays and it has the best cozy vibes! Amazing east coast neighborhood Italian. to be clear: this is the best eggplant you will find this side of the hollywood in Cortland New York. There is no debate. Went to the new location of Romo's for dinner pickup. Place was packed and the wait list was out the door. Place smelt amazing and staff were very friendly. Other than parking was difficult (probably should t have gone at 530pm) it wasn't a bad experience. We order the New Yorker pizza, wings, fried mozzarella and apple pie calzone. Pizza was amazing especially the dollops of ricotta, friends said the wings were good we got the garlic parm and sweet red chili, mozzarella wasn't my favorite probably should only get that when your eating there but the trophy goes to the apple pie calzone. 10/10 it was so delicious. Best pizza in the area- bar none! My personal favorite is the Mama Mia- crispy crust, full flavor sauce, the perfect amount of cheese, and the pesto sauce (amazing) reminds me of Rubirosa in NYC. I do agree with other reviews about the waiting staff being preoccupied and if this interfered with the food (quality, taste, etc) I would give a lower rating. Yes- they have a younger staff but the food is always top notch and never disappointing. Also, I love that they have handicap accessible front and back entrances. Our waitress was busy talking to her friends at another table and ignored us until we flagged her down to order our pizza and wings and drinks. We had to flag her down again to enquirer about our wine. Then the pizza arrived... and it was burnt . The bottom was literally charred and inedible. When we informed the waitress her exact words were "that's the way pizza is supposed to be". To cut a long story short we were not charged for the pizza. Sometimes good service trumps bad food. We went on Friday March the 13rd 2026 around 6pm. Maybe the service and food were terrible because it was Friday the 13th. Sat at the bar. The female bartender ignored us, we waited. Then she started to wait on people that arrived after us. Ok, rude! Don't be a bartender if this is how you treat paying customers! Still Waiting! Finally had to wave our arms? Hello are we invisible? Finally got a drink with no apology! We decided on take out because of the service at the bar. After this rude experience, Got home and the food was terrible. The fish fry which was their special. Over fried with barely fish inside. Terrible! The pizza was burned and tasted nasty. Never again! If this is how you treat paying customers and serve nasty food with the terrible service, you won't last long. People are not going to come back! We won't!! read more

I had high hopes for this place. I've had Romos pizza and it has always been good. Got here and was seated around 7 pm on a Saturday. They were starting to thin out. It was clear that the staff had checked out for the day. I am not sure who my server was. The female servers in my area were busy flirting with a male staff member or playing on their phones. I assume the guy was Charlie since he said he was mentioned on 518 Foodies. I had to flag down staff and beg for help for everything. I don't know who my server was. Pizza was nothing special. Honestly, Defazio's new place is 1,000x better. Here I felt I was an inconvenience. DeFazios pizza was better as was the service. This place was dirty and no one was cleaning it up. Got food on multiple occasions but last evening ordered two Chicken Parm dinners to go and was very disappointed. Although a generous portion of chicken, the chicken in both dinners was tough and a bit rubbery. Hopefully, just a one off issue. Only been here once. Romos is 1 for 4. Anthony's is 1 for 1. Tonight's pie was a win. Another uppity place like Romos but I get it, considering the neighborhood. Bit of an inconvenience you can't order over the phone. You have to use their site which prompts you to use PayPal or venmo. Not the end of the world, just a minor inconvenience. Stopped in on a dreary Sunday for a quick drink & snack. Beautiful new spot with friendly staff & an attentive bartender. I do not care for their marinara sauce at all and unfortunately it was ample and the meatballs are extremely salty.The bruschetta looked like a dessert but was lacking much flavor, I believe useing cold tomatoes is a big mistake. Towards the end of the meal I was asked if I wanted a second beer so I had that to look foward to but it never arrived. It was probably for the best they were out of several menu items. read more

Their Guinness wasn't " pouring right", after several asks for various alcohol to make a cocktail and being told that they didn't have that, we settled on the bare minimum that was available. The bartender was lovely and more than apologetic. We were seated with no wait at 6:30 on a Friday table of 4. There were plenty of tables available which should have been foreshadowing. The Blackbird pizza had a weird aftertaste., 6 pieces of the 8 cut remained at the end of dinner, someone got the meatballs and said they were okay but left quite a bit on the plate. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon. What I got was a burger with sickening sweet bacon jam and ate only one bite. At this point our complaints were racking up so we chose not to bring it to our server's attention because at that point the only satisfactory remedy would have been to refund 3/4 meals. When the bill came we paid and tipped. I would have thought that when the server cleared a table full of food and no one wanted a box something might have sparked the question, was everything ok? But it didn't . I think that is the take away from Anthony's by Romos, they really don't care. They are riding the wave of the accolades for their Glenmont pizza which we never understood but continue to capitalize by opening another mediocre, overpriced disappointing venue. read more

We just had possibly the best pizza EVER! We have been to Anthony's several times and have always been very happy with the food and service. Tonight (Wednesday) they had Detroit style pizza as a special. We love classic pizza but thought we would give it a try and we are so happy we did. The pizza was perfect- soft and chewy with beautiful crisp edges. Not only was the food exceptional, so was the service. We will now have a new Wednesday night tradition. read more

Do not recommend for POC. New to the area, decided to try Anthony's which was recommended by one of the servers there. We enjoyed the pizza and drinks. Our server was taking care of our table and another table of young ladies directly next to us. The establishment was slow towards the end of the night, our server sat between both tables engaging with the customers, chatting, making us all feel welcomed. It was a great time until an employee named Megan came over in front of all of the customers insisting in a rude manner that our server clock out if she wanted to sit and chat. It was very unprofessional, everyone was uncomfortable. Our server was POC and was the only one reprimanded in this manner. It was obvious this employee Megan was deliberately trying to shame this server in front of everyone. It felt a bit targeted and almost racist at this point. I live in Albany, but I've been trying some of the newer places in Voorheesville, such as The Pretty Alright Breakfast Club and Blackbirds Tavern. I've been wanting to try Anthony's by Romo's Pizza for some time. My son and I arrived about 4:30 and we got right in (by 5:00 the dining room was full). I ordered a Sam's Summer Ale served in a frosty glass. Great start! I ordered the Chicken Sorrento entree and my son got a Calzone. We both got side salads. The salads were a good deal for $4. Greens piled high on a small plate made for a big mess on the table, but still good. The calzone came out, but no entree for me. My son picked at the calzone, but didn't care for it. He said it was very greasy. Finally when he was almost done, my meal arrived - except it wasn't what I'd ordered. Somehow I got a chicken caesar wrap with fries instead of Chicken Sorrento with pasta. Our server apologized and said they'd rush a replacement order. My son ordered coffee and dessert while he was waiting on me. When it finally arrived, it looked pretty unappetizing. Everything was covered with a drizzle of balsamic glaze including the spaghetti. The menu did state there would be balsamic, but it sure didn't look like Sorrento I've had anywhere else. I ate about a third of it and asked for a to-go container. Meanwhile, my son's zeppole (fried dough) arrived. This was another great deal, a dozen big pillows of dough with a side of frosting for $7. Score: salads and dessert = good deal, the rest, not so much. I might go back sometime to try their pizza, but I won't go for an entree again. read more
