I stopped in on a weeknight and ordered from the kiosk. I got the Grilled Chicken Signature Bol, which is chicken, white rice, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta and their signature white sauce. I also ordered a side of pita and hummus. I was dining in and waited less than 10 minutes for my food. The portion was absolutely HUGE! I couldn't believe it. I barely made a dent in it! It tasted fresh and the sauce was really tasty. The pita and hummus were also fresh too. I grabbed a box for my leftovers and had another meal out of it. As soon as I read some reviews and looked at Bol's menu, I made it a point to get over there as conveniently as possible to begin enjoying their food. The restaurant is clean and bright and comfortable. You can order either from the kiosk at the side, or at the counter - and they're really helpful at the counter. I crafted a bowl with grilled chicken. I was expecting the chicken to have a slightly stronger flavor, but all the extra items in the bowl plus the sauces I requested really enhanced the flavor. I'm a big fan of their hummus, and I'm almost addicted to their house white sauce, which has just the right amount of garlic in it. Their cucumber mint iced tea also has a great flavor, though I do find it a bit sweet. Be aware that it might take a few minutes for your order to be ready. Bowls with cooked ingredients will take slightly longer. Plus, they are already doing a huge take-out business, so you can't judge only by the number of customers sitting in the restaurant. First time trying to Bol Med and it was good. Large number of fresh choices for the mix and match meals. Wife had the predesigned chicken bowl and I had a custom lamb kabob bowl. Both happy with them. Overall very tasty. Not especially generous with the meat, a bit disappointing for the price but all tasted good and fresh. 50% more meat and they get five stars. read more

The service was great! The food was amazing. I love Mediterranean food and this did not disappoint. I ordered a build your own bowl. All the vegetables were fresh. The chicken was freshly cooked and I like that. All the flavors together is just a nice thing to have. I will definitely go back even though it is a little bit out of my way. The food is delicious and well seasoned, the portions are decent. The lighting is super bright (I have a sensitivity to light and sounds...if you do too you may want to do take out instead or have it delivered). I ordered ahead through the website which claims "ready in 15 minutes". Unfortunately that's not accurate or helpful. If one person is preparing the food, waiting on customers at the front counter and cleaning dishes etc "essentially doing it all", 15 minutes isn't realistic. More than one person works there and the tips are for the counter person only. No sharing according to her. I forgot to take pictures of the yumminess but I enjoyed every bite! Truly everything we ordered was phenomenal, great flavor, great presentation. The fries were so crispy and well done, the chicken kebab was flavorful and the bowl was so fresh and varied. The lemonade was freshly made and reminded me of my mother's growing up. They have several ordering options, both in-person and on a machine in store. We are not from the area and on our way back from Saratoga we were looking for a place to eat. Bol came up on a search and had good reviews so we made a quick detour to Colonie. Located in a small strip mall Bol looks like a fast food place but it is anything but. The food is excellent, plentiful and home made with unique Afghani flavors. Take your time to review the digital menu and then while you are waiting for your order, have some of the lemonade with mint. We ordered a falafel on pita which was way too large to eat at one sitting. Filled with tender falafel balls, hummus, salad, pickles, cabbage and chopped mint it was delicious. My husband had the lamb chop bowl with brown rice and kale tabbouleh. Prices were right, service was friendly. I recommend highly. Pass up the chain restaurants and go for something different and delicious. read more

I'm vegetarian so chose the pick your own bowl, with falafel as my protein. The you get 2 base and 6 choices. The 'salad' choices like the kale tabbouleh are delicious! I also got chickpea salad, a cucumber like mix, cabbage slaw and hummus. These were all so delicious and HUGE bowl!! 10/10! Unfortunately the falafel were terrible. Not green and herbaceous inside like i am used to, not crispy, but mushy. 2/10. The cucumber mint homemade drink was so refreshing, not overly sweet- loved it! I'd come back but as a vegetarian i'm in a corner over getting a protein. Maybe they will change the falafel. read more

What a wonderful addition to the Capital District food scene! Husband's falafel pita wrap and my pita bowl were very generously portioned and delicious: fresh, homemade ingredients. We especially loved the moist and flavorful falafel--a different (and improved!) take on this dish from any we've had before. Also great: many accompanying sauces (cilantro jalapeno, yogurt with dill, among others), the cucumber mint limeade, the long grain "bol" rice ,and Afghan finely chopped salad.
