I am a huge fan of Simone's, both this location and the Albany one. The food is fresh and delicious. The create your own bowls are a steal, at just $12 and they let you load on the toppings. I was stuffed! Service is quick and efficient, perfect for a meal before a show at Proctors. It's a casual dining restaurant where you order at the counter. Plenty of seating although it can get busy. I am looking forward to my visit already!

Came after hearing lots of great things about this Schenectady cafe, and it was even better than expected. It may be a counter order place, but don't let that make you think it's mediocre. Simone's beats some of these fancy ass restaurants. Good prices for the quality you get. There's plenty of healthy and vegetarian choices and other great stuff. A lot of the menu is Mediterranean and Middle Eastern. It has Greek, Italian, Lebanese, and more. There's lots of things for vegetarians. It has fresh made lemonades for about $2, including varieties made with orange blossom. The menu is divided into types of platters. A lot of these are good portions, not too big. It's about $6 for a cup of the Creamy Tomato And Sweet Harissa Soup. Has a not too hot spicy it's to it. The Falafel Snack is a bowl of falafel with tahini and vegetables. Simple but full of flavor. There's also bigger bowls with proteins like chicken, shawarma, and others. Great stuff for pretty great prices to be honest. It's order at the counter, so it's nothing fancy but it's not cheap ass junk either to be sure. There's lots of the usual Middle Eastern items, with many things okay for vegans and vegetarians.

Simone's Kitchen is a must. Take the walk, or order online, to get some of the freshest, house made meals Schenectady has to offer. When you walk in the atmosphere is open and clean. Walk up to the counter and order from a simplified, yet refined menu; or build your own bowl. The food is all made in house and is fresh and flavorful. The prices are beyond reasonable and, in most cases, lower than even fast food. I can't wait to go back to Simone's. PS - Their Wing Walk wing in 2023 was amazing!

Clean, delicious&considerate. We had a nice view of the street in downtown Schenectady, wait staff/cooks were mindful of sesame& nut allergies which I didn't expect at this style of restaurant. Tried three entrees- Mediterranean, falafel&goat cheese pizza all good but the bowls were great! We were there at noon& not too noisy though the 20 degree temp likely kept some folk home. The Americano was perfect& the cardamom black tea sweeter than I'm used to but tasted good. I will go back:)!

I just adore this place. Quick, convenient and the freshest of ingredients! I love the bright surprising flavors. The baklava is really good too. Simone's Kitchen is a vibrant beacon that really stands out in the dull greasy world of quick casual. Love this little gem!

First time around! Really enjoy Indian, Mediterranean, Greek, Italian, and Turkish. Food/Drink: Entrees we're amazing, everything tasted fantastic. The flavors and the smells were intoxicating! I had the big bowl, tabuleh, tapenade, hummus, and grilled chicken. Bread and Apps: The bread was Small and a tad sweet. Dinning Area: Pretty Small, but roomy. Prices: Relatively cheap. Big bowl, entree, and a drink I got away for $17. Parking: Street parking. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and smaller in size. Atmosphere: During the weekday Dinner rush, pretty slow. I did not wait long. Staff/Attendants: Ladies were Great, family owned and operated I presume. Guy behind the counter was super funny. Authentic. Awesome experience wish I had my wife, I will be back! 10/10

First Mediterranean Bowl eating place in upstate NY. Lucky to have it located a few miles from my house on the Jay Street Pedestrian Mall in downtown Schenectady. Eat in or take out, the place is large. Five servers manned the large, organized ,and clean looking serving table to make and customize orders. Many tables were located in the restaurant. Tables at the window would be great for people watching. I posted photos of the menu for you to see the variety. I ordered a Chicken Swarma Bowl for take out. It was fresh and delicious. I was able to select what I wanted in my bowl. No rice. Added chick pea salad. ***The Kale leaf MINT condiment was incredible. Good Flavor punch with the chicken which was tender and flavored nicely. I am happy I got the Pumpkin Olive Oil Cake. It was very moist, and the pumpkin flavor was delicious. Please check out my photos.

I've had the kabobs (which are perfect), but I keep going back to the lamb shank and Kabuli rice. Always more rice than I can finish (so leftovers!) and the lamb is falling-off-of -the-bone tender and exquisite. Sure it isn't medium rare, but I prefer it well-done anyway. Friends have gotten the desserts as to-go and say they are very good, but I never have enough room left to think about it.

My daughter and I had lunch here on a Saturday. There are a wide variety of choices and vegetarians can do very well here as can vegans. We ordered Baba Galoush and Pita as an appetizer. The pita was fresh and warm! The eggplant was delicately flavored, smooth, and exceptional. I could eat it everyday. We ordered two bowls: One was Lamb Kabob One was Chicken There are a wide variety of choices to top your bowl and several different sauces. I had the lamb, and it was outstanding. It was flavorful from being marinated and incredibly tender! Best ever! I had brown rice and many toppings including a grape leave, olives, chick peas, chopped tomatoes/ red onion, hummus, picked cabbage, feta, and cucumbers. Delicious! It was drizzled with my choice of the signature white sauce. My daughter raved about the Chicken Bowl. She ordered a slice of the Chocolate Dubai Cake to bring home. Light fills the restaurant in the daytime. The decor very attractive and uncluttered. The restaurant has a large dining area with regular and high top tables plus barrel back chairs in a sitting area. It is very comfortable and spacious. And spotless. The food was delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. The owner came to our table to ask if we enjoyed the food. Bravo! We highly recommend Zaffron Kitchen, and we will return soon. Offers catering! The tables are all well spaced and even with the high ceilings, it wasn't overly loud at all. The server and bus people were great and our waters were constantly full and the server spaced the whole experience out perfectly. She was quite pleasant yet professional. The cocktails were some of the best in the area. On par with places like Hamlet and Ghost and Josie's Table. High quality and not something you could easily make yourself at home, even with knowing what you're doing. So tasty and beautifully presented. All of the food was super flavorful and perfectly cooked. We wanted to try a bit of everything and ended up taking quite a few leftovers home. For appetizers we tried the olives, whipped herb ricotta and the cheese croquettes. All of those were amazing! The olives were so well flavored and you get a bunch. The herbed whipped ricotta was fantastic but the star was easily the bread it came with. It was so good! I see why there is an option on the menu for "more bread, please" because it's the best focaccia I've ever had. The cheese croquettes were also great and the truffle cream it's plated on was a wonderful touch. For our dinners we tried the chicken, za'atar fries, hummus and the four cheese flatbread. Easily the greatest flatbread I've had. It was beautifully presented and such a fun way to do a flatbread! The chicken was amazing, very flavorful, juicy and gorgeously plated. The delicious amba yogurt complimented the flavors of the chicken so well. The hummus was so fresh and the pita it comes with is always so good. The fries were delicious and the truffle aioli it came with was a perfect dipping option. We can't stop talking about how good it was and can't wait to return!

I'm a big fan of their hummus, and I'm almost addicted to their house white sauce, which has just the right amount of garlic in it. Their cucumber mint iced tea also has a great flavor, though I do find it a bit sweet. Be aware that it might take a few minutes for your order to be ready. Bowls with cooked ingredients will take slightly longer. Plus, they are already doing a huge take-out business, so you can't judge only by the number of customers sitting in the restaurant. This is a wonderful addition to the area, and I look forward to many more meals here.
