Chicken

A coworker and I decided to split an order of Chicken birani for lunch. The online app quoted a 15 minute wait time for pick up. Since we work on Hoosick Street we decided to simply order at the counter when we arrived. The food was prepared quickly which is essential for a lunch order. One order was plenty portion to share. I ordered the mint sauce since the reviews recommended and its very bright. We ordered medium spice and I would have enjoyed heat. So if you like spice go for the hot.

Behari Kebab Wrap

The glowing reviews are so right! The food is fresh and delicious. Everything we tried was flavorful. You can tell the chicken is freshly cooked by the texture. The servings size is very generous too. The Chicken Tikka over rice had a large portion of well spiced chicken with rice and salad. We ordered medium spice and it was plenty hot in my opinion. I had the Behari chicken wrap. Soft naan wrapped around flavorful chicken and pickled onions. The green cilantro, mint sauce is so good as is the optional tamarind sauce. I ate half and saved half for the next day. I can't wait to go back!

Chicken Behari kebab quesadilla. Wow!!

Wow! I highly recommend this place! What an amazing experience! So creative in a fusion of Pakistani and American. This place is popular and you know the minute you take your first bite why. Everything I ate was amazing. Their chicken behari kebab is so good! It's always my favorite kebab, but chicken behari kebab with cheese and served as a quesadilla in naan is just amazing! The wrap was so good, too, with amazing mixes of chutneys, and they will give you 3 sauces to eat as much as you want! The restaurant is clean and the bathroom was so clean. The service was polite, welcoming, and respectful. Thank you Brother Nadeem! Their mango lassi is so good. They will give you some hot chicken tikka masala sauce to eat with your kebab and naan. Very creative menu, excellent food, big portions, reasonable prices. What else can you ask for! Please open more of your restaurants in every state! FYI, the owners also one of the owners of Shibam the Yemeni coffee shop in Latham.

Chicken Biryani, Butter Naan, and Salaam Cola

I finished work late and needed a bite to eat. Naan Kebab was open. The Chicken Biryani was perfectly spiced and the chicken was tender. The butter naan was HUGE and had that freshly baked flavor as if it came out of a tandoor oven. For $20 (plus a drink) I got quite a bountiful, hearty meal. The staff was friendly, patient, and communicative. I will be coming back!

Great food! They keep adding a new menu item each week, and I love trying new things there. Delicious, highly recommend.

The food was delicious and fresh. I got the tikka masala wrap. Staff were friendly and it's a nice environment whether you're solo or with friends.

Behari Kebab Quesadilla

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Staff was friendly and food was ready within 10 minutes. The quesadilla was a huge serving and spiced to perfection. Absolutely delicious and I'll definitely be back!

I intended to only eat half of my Behari Kebab Quesadilla order and be on my way - but ended up devouring it all. It was outstanding!

Have had it at the Troy Farmer's Market & at the Student Union & for all their effort in making it, with 10 ingredients including mustard greens & bok choy, there is zero flavor. (Tried Chicken & tofu orders) The pad thai sauce needs some umami, fish sauce, tamarind? I'm not sure. Pad Thai is not supposed to be spicy, so I am confused as to everyone ordering it, & being asked a spice level. Maybe the spic covers up the non-sauce that the noodles are tossed in? I even trekked up to the student union to pick up lunch one day, and asked for extra Tamarind sauce. I got a dollop of brown sauce on top, that tasted like extra salty. Hoisin sauce. And then some more further down in the bowl. Such a disappointment, I couldn't eat all that salt, threw it out. Should I ask for "extra Thai flavor" next time? Really don't know. **Pad Thai is not a Spicy dish friends.** 2nd: Definitely go for: A Rice Bowl with -the string beans. Crispy with a kick of spice -the beets at the Farmer's Market. Never thought I would finish off beets, but this will convert you. I crave this! Too bad they don't have it at the RPI Student Union during the week. -green curry chicken is not bad. Spice comes on a little bit later. -The Mango Lassi is $4.(average since coffee & battenkill milk costs about the same at the Mkt.) A nice option to have, Mike said that it's made with rose water. Needs a bit more cardamom. -Had a nice to-go cold peanut noodle chicken noodle bowl from the RPI Student Union. They're now on a new remodeled floor at the Union, the menu looks smaller. Maybe it will take some time to build it back up, or they may not have the room for extras. -always fun seeing their homemade ice cream flavors according to the holiday. Very creative & fun chefs. Follow their Facebook for updates. So, too bad I had to average out my review to 3 stars for TMC, but the Pad Thai is very disappointing. My mother bought one & didn't like it either & she's more forgiving with food. Yet customers seem to really like it. Get schooled on Pad Thai at Sukothai in Albany folks! Or even Chom's Cafe In Troy.

It is an open Kitchen mostly takeout place with several booths/tables for dine in, if wanted. Ordered for pickup: Chicken Bihari Boti, six pieces Lamb Curry with Rice The chicken was very tender and delicious. A small salad was included. I would order this dish again even though the menu has many enticing items. The Lamb Curry included a tasty, flavorful white rice that complemented the curry well. The owner included extra sauces including a Mint-Yogurt one that was delicious. I should have ordered one of the many varieties of Naan, and next time I will. Check out their menu. The owner greeted you with a smile. Two others prepared the food. While another customer (Gyros) and I waited for our orders at 11:30 am (I arrived early), the owner served us a sample of their Kheer after asking us if we had a milk allergy. This traditional Indian Rice dessert was far superior in flavor and texture to what I have eaten at other local restaurants that serve it. (Kheer is a creamy, traditional dessert made by simmering rice with whole milk, sugar, and aromatics like cardamom and saffron.) The owner even included a complimentary serving of Kheer with my order. Nice! They thank you for your order when you leave. The restaurant was pristine including the recently washed windows. Parking is plentiful. I want to order food from here for my family who likes this cuisine.

Let me just start by saying that Authentic Pakistani food is greasy, they do have oily puddle in their curry. That oily puddle deep or shallow is called "Taaree". If you ever visit Lahore, you gotta go to the andoronay Lahore, old Lahore basically and every small restaurant you will go to has some oily greasy side to it. All you gotta do it, pour it out or use paper towel to soak oil out of your dish. That's all. Pakistani/Indian dishes are not the healthiest kind but of course you can make any Desi (Pakistani/Indian/ Bangla) dish healthy if you make it at home, with very little or no oil. Or use coconut OR any other oil substitute. Ordering a take out is a treat for most of the population, so unless you are going to just settle with little bit oily dish then what's the point. Just grab a paper towel and get rid of the excess oil and still enjoy the Authentic Pakistani dish. I am just a customer at Spice and Beyond and I understand that they might not be perfect but they are doing a pretty good job of bringing part of Pakistan to New York. Have a wonderful day.

Traveling within about 5 minutes on the way to visit a good friend, and it happened to be right around lunch time, the opportunity finally came. It's a casual place, lots of 2 and 4 top tables, but what caught my eye when we went in was the cooler full of amazing side options. Then you look up and there's a beautiful oven and a dough station. This is looking great. We sat and ordered lamb kebab and doner kebab. A couple minutes later, a large (~11x17?) wooden tray appeared with a piping hot lavash bread and a plate of dill yogurt sauce. If the meal had stopped there, I would have been a happy camper. We had just had a few pieces when the kebab arrived, each with a pepper, tomato, some red cabbage, and onion. Both meats were authentic and delicious. My favorite way to eat my doner was with a bit of the bread, a bit of the dill sauce, some onion and cabbage, and a bunch of meat - a mini gyro, if you will. We took away about 1/3 of the generous portions and ordered a large mixed plate (all 10 of the sides) and baklava to take to our friend. It's a bit of a drive for us, but any time we're anywhere close, we're going to be back for sit down (if it's mealtime) or takeaway if it's not. I highly recommend you do the same.

The place feels much more modern and inviting now. Our family especially enjoys the beyti kebab, the güveç, and their pide. I haven't tried the pizza yet, but since their pide is very good, I imagine the pizza would also be solid. For me though, the real highlight at Alibaba is the mezze. In Turkish cuisine, grilled meats and kebabs are almost always enjoyed with a variety of mezze. They might technically be sides, but they're a big part of the whole experience. These days there are several Turkish kebab places in the area, but none of them offer a wide selection of fresh, house-made mezze like Alibaba does. At many places you're lucky if you find one or two options, often just a basic ezme. At Alibaba you'll find around ten different mezze and each one tastes distinct and freshly made. Every time I tell myself I'll just take a little... and somehow I end up filling a big mezze plate. Honestly, even when we grill at home, our motivation is picking up mezze from Alibaba to go with it. I'm not sure if it gets the credit it deserves, but don't skip the mezze here -- you'd be missing out. In fact, start with the mezze and figure out the rest later :))
