    Pepperoni and sausage pizza

I've been to Romo's multiple times since the first time I reviewed this place and it has been much better. To clarify, the pizza was mediocre the first time I got it, but now it's much better. To explain, the crust is thin, crispy, and tastes homemade. Also, the sauce is enjoyable with a hint of sweetness. It's simply a good pizza. Likewise, the wings have been good as well. First off, I haven't gotten anymore hairs in them. In addition, the wings are crispy, juicy, and saucy. Also, they have a decent kick to them which adds flavor. As can be seen, Romo's has improved and they offer good pizza and wings.

What can I say? It's what I've been saying for years: Romo's is easily the best or tied for the best pizza place in the Albany area. Recently tried the cobra Kai 12 cut (rectangle/square) pizza and it was delicious. Romos runs a chicken parm special on Tuesday nights and a family meal deal on Wednesdays. Romo's is really great food.

This review is based on todays experience and past experiences. I used to live in the area and frequently would order pizza and wings, and sometimes would stop on my way home from work for dinner rather than head home to cook. I always enjoyed the pizza and staff in the past. However this experience was quite different. We had to stand and wait 10 minutes before being seated. My aunt was with me and she has heart issues so we found a stack of chairs in the corner and she was able to sit while we were waiting. Once seated, we were waited on and ordered quickly. We ordered the fried pickles and Italian sandwich to share. Thankfully we did share as the food order was large and more than one of us could eat on our own. So, saying that, serving sizes are generous. I he been given a thank you for a free garlic know when I checked in, however when presented to my server, she asked if she could show it to her management. She came back and said they could not honor the coupon as they had no affiliation with Yelp. I wasn't angry, but I es surprised that for one garlic know that was the response. I felt that was rather silly they turned that down. Never has any place I checked in not honor a coupon before. As for the food, the fried pickles were excellent. The fries were on the overcooked side, and I felt the chicken sandwich was pretty bland. I would probably not order a sandwich again and stick to pizza or an Italian dish as I feel from past experiences that is what this place does best. Our server was very friendly but was not too prominent in checking on us and we sat quite some time waiting for her to show up so we could pay our bill and leave. Overall, this IS a place to try. You won't be disappointed with pizza for certain.

    small meatlover's pizza

Ordered Romo's for our galentine's night after a friend recommended it. We got one large half-cheese, half- pepperoni pizza and a small meatlovers. The portion size was standard and what we expected. Delivery came on time and we all agreed that their delivery bags and pizza boxes were suprisingly very aesthetically pleasing. The pizza itself was yummy, had a good crust to cheese ratio. We did warm up the pizza a bit to get it back to a nice temperature to enjoy. This is now my second preferred pizza spot in the area (after DeFazio's).

I've heard such good things about this restaurant plus my family always raves about it. Wish I could have had a better experience last night to give it a glowing review but unfortunately not the case. My family called ahead for 530pm for 2 kids and 6 adults Saturday night. We arrived about 5 minutes early and the place inside was packed. Togo area there's no actual room to wait inside once you order. They did have outdoor seating as it was nice out, it's a little tent in the front. We were sat in a corner that was a half booth half table chairs situation which was fine. Waitress came over within a reasonable time, drinks in came back out and we put in apps. About 10 minutes later we ordered 3 pizzas, 2 dinners and a sub. The apps came out within about 20 minutes. However the pizza and the dinners were another story. The place was busy but the sub came out within maybe a half hour after ordering, the waitress keeps saying the food is coming. We saw again a busier place so we were understandably not surprised that it was taking longer than usual. Around 7pm we started asking for at-least the dinners so our kids could eat as they were over it. Around 725pm we got the dinners (1 spaghetti and meatballs and 1 rigatoni meatballs) they both were spaghetti and meatballs... so we had to send it back and wait another 5 minutes and finally these "award winning" pizzas around 730pm. Not sure if the kitchen was that backed up or our ticket was lost or the order just never put in. The taste of the food was good authentic Italian cuisine. Nothing special to write home about. The vodka pie was delicious but not worth a 2 hour wait. The bill came it was $200. Nothing was taken off the bill to accommodate the long wait, I mean fine but you say you strive on great customer service. Right from their perspective website "Our number one goal is to make each customer's experience the best one they can have. We understand that doesn't always happen. Mistakes can happen but we will always do our best to correct any issues or concerns you may have with an order." So would have been nice or "great" service to at-least compensated the drinks we had or an app, just something to say "sorry" to try to correct the situation. Needless to say this visit was disappointing. It might have just been an off night but I won't be back after this experience. Things to know: They are a family owned business and most of the family works in the restaurant which gives it a homey feel. Mondays they are Closed. Other nights they do close at 8pm. They do offer ToGos. As most others have mentioned not all menu items are available, so keep that in mind when trying to order. Parking lot is tight, people double park to get ToGos which makes it even more difficult and frustrating when trying to actually find a parking spot. After circling 3 times, we were parked. They are opening another location soon in voorheesville. Very kid friendly atmosphere, limited number of high chairs though. TVs are on mostly every wall to get caught up on your big games. They do offer some kind of call ahead seating.

I can't believe I've never been to Romo's! And judging by my friends joy in every bite, they are better than they used to be. The self proclaimed anti-yelp owner has been improving and is currently putting out some amazing pizza. Don't try to use their check in offer, they hate yelp. Curious as to why, they have an average of 4 stars which probably higher than most pizzerias in the area. We came for the New Haven style pizza that won an award at a pizza competition in Naples, Italy. After a couple of trips to New Haven myself, I felt to be a decent judge to the style. Crisp, light, light topped, perfect char, great crust. This is the reason to come here. They are doing a killer job on the New Haven style pizza and I highly recommend getting the specialty pie that won. It has a delicious combination of high quality cheeses and fresh ingredients. The toppings applied with a careful hand to make a perfectly light pizza. We also tried the Sicilian style, this one had vodka sauce and cup and char pep. The pizza was really thick but the crust was still light and super airy which made it easy to eat and not super dense. I liked it here! I will definitely be back for the New Haven pizza again. I would recommend coming here and splitting some pizzas. I cannot speak for anything else on the menu, appetizers and entrees may not be up to par, but they are cranking out delicious pizzas.

The pizza is so good, working my way through trying different varieties. This is the meat lovers on the original crust.

    Ma Ma Mia

I had heard a lot of good things about the pizza here so had to check it out. We went with a big group so were able to try a lot of different things. We got garlic knots, the classic romos cheese pizza, ma ma Mia, and the vodka style Detroit on grandma dough. Everything was GREAT. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because they were out of the pizza doughs I came to try! After ordering drinks and apps our waitress came back to tell us they were out of the New Haven and Detroit style pizza doughs. Of course those were the ones we came to try. So we will have to go back to try those, and hope they are there next time. What I liked the most about everything here was the attention to detail and quality of ingredients. Every sauce was clearly homemade with care. The pesto on the ma Ma Mia was SO GOOD! Bright, flavorful, fresh. The vodka sauce was perfection. The seasoning on the garlic knots was also very good and not a throw away item. Everything was done with care. The doughs were also very unique and delicious. I think having such a variety of styles of pizza is remarkable and was suspicious whether they could possibly all be good. If these are the options that ARENT the favorites and they were great, can't wait to try the favorites. The place is super busy so expect to wait a bit!

    To-go pizza - "Bruschetta Pizza" from Roma's

We ordered the bruschetta pizza for pickup. After a 18 minute drive home, we open the pizza box to reveal this absolute amazing pizza! Fresh out of the oven look, texture and taste!

new haven pizza and a regular large pie.
    Vic C.

The place was really busy, and the parking lot was a bit small for the amount of traffic coming into the plaza. so I just placed an order to go. I wanted to try that New Haven style pizza. I also got a large cheese pie. I was a bit disappointed with the New Haven pizza. There was no basil on the pie it was also a bit burnt. I do like how the crust tasted, so the pizza was just ok, nothing special, and the regular large cheese pie was OK, what turned me off from it was they put minced garlic on the outside of the crust, and it was mostly burnt, so it threw off the flavors on the crust. Both pies were basic tasting pizza, nothing unique about it at all. everything costs about $36. I'm not sure if I will be coming back.

Rosanna's -- A Genuine Gem That Deserves Every Star There…read moreare restaurants you visit and forget, and then there are restaurants that stay with you long after the last bite. Rosanna's is firmly in the second category -- and after an exceptional dinner that left both of us completely satisfied and already planning our return visit, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone for the entire evening. Warm, inviting and thoughtfully designed, Rosanna's strikes that rare balance between intimate and lively -- the kind of space that feels equally suited for a romantic dinner for two or a celebratory night out with people you love. The lighting is soft without being dim, the energy is buzzing without being overwhelming, and every detail of the room communicates that this is a place that genuinely cares about the experience it creates for its guests. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu -- not in a rehearsed, corporate way but in the way that only happens when staff actually love where they work and believe in what they're serving. Questions were answered with confidence and warmth, dietary considerations were handled graciously and without any fuss, and the pacing of the meal felt exactly right. Not rushed, not forgotten -- just perfectly timed. It is the kind of service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table to turn over. Now the food -- where do we even begin. We started with the Shrimp Balls and they were an immediate knockout. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented and gone far too quickly. The arugula dip alongside them was bright and fresh -- a genuinely clever pairing that elevated what could have been a simple appetizer into something memorable. This dish alone would be worth coming back for. For mains we ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto -- elevated with a grilled shrimp skewer addition that turned an already outstanding dish into a complete and deeply satisfying meal. The risotto was everything a great risotto should be -- creamy without being heavy, deeply savory with layers of earthy mushroom flavor, finished beautifully with truffled pecorino that added just the right amount of richness. The shrimp skewer on top was perfectly grilled, plump and fresh -- a brilliant pairing with the earthiness of the mushrooms. Our dining companion ordered the Boneless Beef Short Ribs which arrived tender, deeply flavorful and beautifully plated -- the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. What makes Rosanna's truly special is that everything works together -- the room, the service, the food and the overall feeling of being genuinely well taken care of. This is not a restaurant that relies on one strong element to carry the others. Every component earns its place. Whether you are celebrating something special, treating someone you love or simply in search of a great dinner in wonderful company -- Rosanna's delivers on every level. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You will not regret it. And the pellegrino soda was great I got the blood orange! And we took the olive oil orange cake to go yum!
