Good place to stop for lunch! Located at the southeast corner of Ontario Street and Sargent Street, Pizza Stop offers a variety of traditional and specialty pizzas including gluten free options, calzones, strombolis, pasta, fried appetizers, wings, and hot torpedos. The prices here seem reasonable and they offer 10 Lunch Specials until 3 PM for $5 plus tax including 2 Slices of Pizza & can of soda, Pasta with Meatballs with bread & butter & can of soda, 6" Meatball Sub, Fries, & can of soda, 3 Chicken Tenders with Fries, and other specials. The Tuesday Special is a 14" Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza for $5.99. They are also affiliated with Sub Stop, just around the corner on Columbia Street. The place is low key and order at the counter and there are a few tables inside for eating in. I stopped in at Pizza Stop for lunch takeout with quick and friendly service. I ordered the #3 Ziti & meatballs with Italian bread & butter and can of Diet Pepsi from the cooler for $5.40 with tax. The food was hot & ready in about 5 minutes after ordering, which was a good portion of soft cooked ziti topped with lots of thick chunky sweet tomato sauce and 2 big soft moist meatballs packed in a round aluminum container. The bread & butter provided were good for dipping in the sauce. The food was filling for lunch and tasted very good. I will have to return again for the pizza!

Ordered four items. Received two of them. Pizza was raw. No Stromboli, no wings. I did get a raw pizza and a terrible meatball sub.

But today, we decided let's just have a cheat day and have our favorite pizza. What we always used to get. An extra crispy Pizza with banana peppers sausage and extra pepperoni. Let's start with the prices. Okay so I know it's 2026 but charging 2.69 per topping on a MEDIUM pizza. That's a little ridiculous. Then when it comes which was within a reasonable time the pizza box was soaked in grease and the pizza itself was beyond soggy. It was the WORST pizza we have ever had and we're so disappointed when we were looking forward to treating ourselves to something we once loved. You can see the pizza just laying in a pool of grease with the photo attached. UPDATE: the owner reached out to me and I was refunded for the pizza. He was very understanding and sincere.

The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant is great for a romantic evening or a quiet family dinner. We love that they have clearly marked on the menu all the vegan options and what is vegetarian to make ordering easy. Ordering online is simple but it's just as easy to call and place an order of you have any questions or concerns. This time I ordered a large pizza with vegan cheese. Half the pizza had artichokes and kalamata olives, the other half was topped with fresh sliced mushrooms and vegan sausage. No canned mushrooms here! I think its great that they know their ingredients. The Vegan cheese is always browned and properly melted. You don't have to tell them extra crispy or well done, they aren't going to give you a pizza that does look and taste delicious! Anytime we are in the Latham area and looking for a place crowd pleaser where we can order for us and the rest of the family that doesn't eat vegan food, Midpoint is at the top of the list! I got the 10" Chicken Ricotta, and the flavor was on point, perfectly seasoned, and the crust was so fresh. Not doughy, but that good fire pizza fresh. I'm also a sucker for anything that resembles pasta, so when I saw pasta on a pizza, it was a must try. I'm heading back to Albany right now, and this will be the first thing I order to my hotel.

I haven't been to this original location on 4th St. in Troy for a few years. The family operation is nearly 100 years old. Remarkably, it's very much as I remember it. A tiny place with three tables. Some of the seating looks like repurposed church pews. The youthful staff, friendly as always. They were running into some delays as orders came pouring in just before dinnertime. They'd have to check to see if they could fit our order for a big pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. They squeezed us in! Since the wait would be between 20-30 minutes we kept ourselves busy by checking out the desserts in the self serve refrigerator. I picked out a slice of "hangover" (alcohol) cake and I devoured it before our meal arrived. It was so delicious and naughty fun to eat our dessert before the meal. The pizza was fantastic when it arrived. I prefer crisp crusts-- this one was not-- but it was awesome just the same. My friend and I were so hungry that we consumed half of the pie before I realized that we hadn't photographed our delicious pizza. The remaining half was boxed and taken home to be enjoyed for a couple more days. The staff was so ready. They came to our table with the box and we settled up our bill. A lot to be said for tradition and quality. I've also visited DeFazio's in Albany, but I have yet to visit the relatively new restaurant up the block. Thanks, DeFazio's, for another great meal.

There is limited parking on the premises but always parking on the street if you don't mind some walking. The slightly rustic, lodge type of interior matches the friendly vibes as well as the interesting drink selections, including a side menu filled with signature coffee whiskey cocktails! Their tipsy cocktails and beer menu is also quite attractive. My group and I were able to walk in on a weekend evening for dinner with no wait and while it was packed inside, it still felt roomy enough. However, the surrounding tables were rowdy and the noise was reverberating. Our server was attentive though she did admit it was busy and the wait time for orders would take a bit longer than usual. The menu has plenty of starters that are highly shareable, poutine, salads, soups, mac and cheese, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, and quesadillas. Haven't had real poutine in ages so I decided to try their gravy fries with smoked cheese curds and added bacon. It was a good portion for the price ($15+) and came out hot on a cast iron skillet. The cheese curds weren't the type I expected and melted down too much, and did not have that squeaky cheese bite one would want in poutine. The gravy and the bacon worked well with the fries though! The smoked brisket French onion soup ($8+) was extremely hot when it first came out and I had to let it cool down before taking a spoonful. The cheese was so bubbly and delicious and the soup itself was flavorful (maybe a tad too salty), and had a balanced amount of onions and brisket. I would definitely get the soup again. Their barbecue pulled pork quesadilla ($15+) was also a bit too salty and meat was more tough than preferred. We also tried two of their mac and cheese selections, which came in a small cast iron pot each ($17+). The bacon chicken ranch mac and cheese was good but the jerk chicken mac and cheese was not as memorable (not much jerk flavor). Kudos for having a build-your-own mac and cheese option as well as a mac and cheese flight if you want to try more than one flavor. I'm glad to return to try other menu items at this tap and tavern and see what else catches my eye. While this visit wasn't spectacular, it also wasn't bad. The French onion soup is one thing I know I'd get over and over again. Oh, they also have a credit card transaction fee that you will see once you get the bill. Pay in cash if you mind said fee.
