This was the best pizza we had since moving to the area. Loved the flavorful crust. The delivery guy was pleasant and friendly. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place.

Good place for pizza! I was stopping at Mick's Pizza for pizzas many years ago when it was on 5th Ave in North Troy, where my buddy used to live. Fast forward, Mick's Pizza is located on Ontario Street in Cohoes, which is located near several other pizza places in the city. The place is very small with limited seating inside and parking in front, geared towards pickup and delivery. Mick's Pizza makes a very good pie. The crust is firm on the outside and soft and chewy inside. The pizza sauce is zesty with the right amount of cheese and toppings. I've ordered Eggplant pizza and Ricotta Cheese pizza (tastes like a cheese lasagna) here, both were very good! The service is efficient and prompt.

Excellent pizza. Hot, fresh and fast delivery. Two for two. Had medium wings that cleared my sinuses for sure.

Another friend, Pam, had highly recommended Emma Jayne's Restaurant which is only a couple of traffic lights from Trader Joe's - a perfect location for our trip. The restaurant sits just north of Fred the Butcher (next door, literally) for those who frequent that establishment, on Route 9. There is off-street parking. When we arrived at 12:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, the front parking spaces were full. (Note: there may be parking around back; I didn't check) We thought we might have to wait for a table. Wrong! The restaurant is surprisingly spacious with two large rooms furnished with tables that were thoughtful spaced apart. A photo of an adorable young girl, whom we assumed was the dining establishment's namesake, was on the wall. Let me be sure to mention that the ladies room, which smelled faintly of bleach, was spotless. I mean REALLY clean! About the food ... my friend and I shared an appetizer of Fried Calamari. It was an ample portion (took some home) accompanied by sweet chili sauce - a nice change from typical marinara served at other places. However, the calamari was small and overcooked. As a result, what was presented was a plate of small, overly crisp rings of 90% batter. No squid! For our entrees, Barb chose the Chicken Salad Sandwich. She requested that it be served on a pretzel bun (touted as homemade) for which we were hit with an up-charge of $3.50. The chicken salad had grapes and walnuts in it and Barb liked it very much. The up-charged pretzel roll did not appear to be homemade. Very disappointing. Had she known it would be uninspiring, she would have accepted the brioche roll. Macaroni salad - not very exciting - accompanied the sandwich along with a pickle. I love seafood and was torn between ordering the Fish and Chips (halibut) and Lobster Pot Pie (an appetizer). Our server, Drew, gets a gold star for suggesting the second one when I told him I wasn't a big eater. Apparently, the halibut, while highly recommended, is a sizable portion. The pot pie was superb! The rich, creamy sauce was divine. I couldn't eat it all and will enjoy the rest of it for lunch today. Emma Jayne's menu has something for everyone. Our server, Drew, was informative and attentive. While we may make other food choices (skip the calamari and pretzel bun but keep the pot pie), we will definitely return.

First visit will definitely not be the last. This place is the real deal. Plenty of parking,…read moreincluding handicapped spaces. Clean, actually spotless front area. Immediate attention from a hostess. Waitress at the table within minutes, pleasant, experienced, just absolutely professional while at the same time being friendly and welcoming. The service alone is worth the whole 5 stars, so how do I rate the food? :) We ordered lasagna, I got the meat, my wife got meatless. Salad on the table minutes after we ordered. Nice salad, nothing fancy, good variety, lots of black olives, some sort of pickled pepper, decent croutons. Meals came within 10 minutes, piping hot, and just from looking I knew I was in for a treat. There was plenty of sauce, and not the thin watery stuff that seems to be called sauce lately. Rich, thick, had a great texture to it, not a bit of oiliness, and there was no orange water seeping out from under the food. You could actually taste tomato, and the spices, rather than just some slightly acidic red taste. Lasagna was a huge portion, actually a double in my mind. I ate until I was stuffed, and had enough left over to do that again the next day. There was sufficient cheese, and the meat was really tasty on its own, nicely seasoned. There is a great selection of deserts, and these days, premium cheesecake at $7.50 is a bargain. They offer tiramisu, which I love, but since I wanted to sleep that night I passed (the caffeine does a number on me now that I am old). I noticed some other reviews whining about pricing. Very hard for people to understand that restaurants are businesses, and they need to charge enough to pay staff, rent, overhead, food, and all the myriad of charges that small businesses have, plus produce enough profit so the owner decides the whole thing is worth the hassle. You want cheap food served? No problem, there are plenty of chain outfits around; don't complain when a premium restaurant charges enough to stay in business. Our two meals were a tad under $44 bucks, including tax. Given the absolute top quality of the food, and the size of the portions, in my mind, the dishes would have supported a extra $5 per. Testo's is for sale, and I hope that if it does sell the new owners respect what they bought and keep the tradition of truly superb food at reasonable prices going. I am amazed that after 40 some years in the area, and having driven by the place on business numerous times, that this is the first time I ate there. Our visit was prompted by a 94 year old relative, EXTREMELY fussy about food and more so about service, telling us what a great meal and experience he had there.

We went to Bellini's in Latham as a party of six. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it didn't really impress either. Several of us ordered the chicken parm, and while it tasted good, it came with a bit of a surprise. I order chicken parm pretty much anytime it's on a menu, so I've had a lot of versions over the years, and this was the first time I've seen it paired with a cream marinara style sauce on the ziti. It had more of a vodka sauce consistency. On its own it was fine, but it felt a little odd paired with traditional chicken parm. We all agreed it seemed like an odd pairing. Another issue was temperature. My chicken parm itself was hot, but the ziti was inconsistent, hot in the center and lukewarm, even a little cool, toward the edges of the plate. I asked the other people that had ordered it as well if it was just my plate and they said no theirs also was inconsistent. Someone in our group got the stuffed shells and said they were okay, but would have preferred a red sauce instead of the white sauce. Another person agreed with that. The pizza, on the other hand, was a good size and pretty solid. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Our waiter was friendly and did check in, but the overall pace was slow. We were there for about two hours, and it wasn't particularly busy and we just ordered entrees and two deserts. I'd say it was more on the mild side as far as busyness. the waiter also either forgot or didn't realize that two of the entrees came with a dessert, which we had to ask about. To his credit, he apologized when it was pointed out. Dessert ended up being cannolis and a slice of cheesecake, both of which were tasty. When the bill came, we noticed the total didn't seem to add up. After asking, it turned out gratuity had been included for a party of six or more. That's on the menu in smaller print, we just missed it, so not a big deal, but something to be aware of. The restaurant itself is nice inside, and the tables are roomy, which I liked. It is pretty noisy though, and it was hard to have a conversation with people at the other end of the table. The host staff were also very pleasant. I'd probably come back and give it another shot, but this visit didn't really stand out. 3 stars earned on this particular visit.
