Pizza cheese and sauce tasted okay. Square pizzas were doughy, definitely needed more time in the oven and after waiting 45 minutes for 3 pizzas I definitely wasn't expecting that! The brick oven pizza is good. I can't stand a greasy crust. Chicken parm hero is usually great, but it's been a miss a few times. Their boneless wings are very good, crispy and saucy. I also like their crispy chicken wrap. Cannoli is surprisingly good, I usually get one and thoroughly enjoy it. read more

If you are looking for classic big slices of thin NYC style pizza this is up there. The bottom was a little grittier but otherwise it's a welcomed transplant. Pizza was very good..once we received it. Counter clerk was extremely unhelpful when we ordered. We were from out of town and didn't understand all of the different options. She just kept saying she didn't know. So we ended up ordering $80 worth of pizza for 4 people. Then, 3 of the pizzas came out after 30 minutes. Guy who brought them out asked if we had 1 or 2 of the small pizzas. We said 2 and he said that's what he thought and would bring it out. After about 5 minutes, no pizza so I went inside and asked where it was. He said "it needs about 4 more minutes". After about 10 more minutes, I went back in and asked where it was and they said it was still baking. So I'm guessing they forgot to put the order in but didn't tell me that. I asked how much longer and they said about 5 more minutes. I asked if I could just cancel and it and get a refund because we had a 15 hour drive ahead of us. Guy came walking out with the pizza and said "here you go. You have a great day" in an extremely sarcastic tone. Not exactly the best impression for a visitor from out of town who just wanted some pizza. So while everyone else enjoyed their pizza together. I ate mine in the car. This pizza is fantastic. By far the best buffalo chicken pizza in this area! It tastes a lot like buffalo chicken pizza from a place called "Carmella's" that burned down many many years ago in Colonie, N.Y. The crust has a distinct texture and flavor unlike any I have ever had. Orders are filled quickly and without delay, however the speed doesn't compromise the quality of the food. The ambiance is that of a take out pizza place. It has a few places to sit and eat. It's clean and orderly. I encourage anybody who's tired of the same old pizza to give this place a shot. Yelp you rarely disappoint but on this one you certainly did. We were in from out of town and ordered ahead. We ordered 3 different pizzas, the margarita, the pepperoni 24 inch and the chicken fajita. All were extremely bland and the crust was super dry on all of them. This place has the best pizza so since I was craving baked ziti I figured... why not? Well, now I know why not. There's hardly any mozz cheese, no ricotta at all, and although i asked for "light marinara" (so it wasn't swimming in it) the sauce is dry as hell. So, there's nothing appetizing about this. Its pretty much just ziti and sauce. What a waste. I also ordered a couple of appetizers and they were mushy. What the heck?! Its the second time in a row that the food isn't as good as usual. Im so sad because Paulie's pizza is so delicious! Baked ziti should have cheese BAKED into it and loaded on top, with some ricotta cheese throughout the dish. So let down. Apparently the quality of pizza varies tremendously here. I came near the end of a recent pizza tour and they were not only slammed but also had very few types of pizza left. I picked out a small piece of sausage, and my wife had pepperoni. With a drink, it was $4.75 (a pretty good deal) though upon reflection I am not so sure. The crust on our pieces was doughy and bland, and had weird pieces of stuff stuck to the outside like oatmeal. It was strange. The sauce was really sweet, and it reminded me of Chef Boyardee canned tomato gel. The cheese was excessive but didn't really add any flavor. The sausage on mine consisted of four small blobs, and the taste was MIA. I had been glad that the slices were small because I was starting to get full on my way in, but the pizza was so disappointing that I didn't even finish it. Oddly, a couple next to us got a piece of pizza straight out of the oven and it looked wonderful. It is as if ours was a throw-away pizza. Based on the high ratings online and some of the other reviews from people on our tour, I have to assume our pizza was an anomaly. But, it was what it was. read more

I love Paulie's Pizza. In fact, I think it's my favorite pizza place in the Capital Region. Generally I order a large pizza with mushrooms and sausage, thin and crispy crust, and Paulie's excels at it. Plus, they deliver quickly, and are always friendly. What more do you need from a local pizza place? Well to be fair, the taste of the food should be mentioned here. About that pizza that I mentioned earlier, it's great. The sauce is a little sweet and the crust is always chewy. Never too hard to bite into, but still crispy on the bottom. It's not too thick (probably because I asked for it that way). If you grew up in NYC in the 70-80s like me, you know how important thin and crispy crust is in pizza. In fact, it's the absolute worst when a place treats a round pizza like a thick square Sicillian slice. Fortunately Paulie's Pizza doesn't have that issue. read more

Paulie's Pizza was another stop on the Tour de Slice. They were my other second runner up. I wish the under crust was just a little bit thinner, although it was extremely crisp! The end crust was perfect. I'm not sure where I learned the term "pizza bones" but that's what I call the end crust of the pizza. I would love a plate of Paulie's pizza bones and a big bowl of sauce. Paulie's sauce, in my opinion was the best. I will definitely be visiting Paulie's again and try one of their other dishes featuring that delicious sauce! read more

This is my all-time favorite pizza place. To this day I have not had a bad meal from this restaurant. Hot subs, cold subs, calzones, pizza... you name it and it was fantastic. My personal favorites are the chicken parm pizza and a calzone with chicken and roasted red peppers. My family has not ordered pizza from another place in about 2 years and will keep ordering from here in the near future. Sometimes we have to wait longer than the estimated delivery time to receive our food, but it is worth the wait every time. Being newer to the area we have been trying to find really good Italian quality Pizza. Paulie' Pizza isn't it. We've tried them multiple times and each time their pizza very consistent and doesn't taste all that great. We've stopped trying them and have moved on to find there are very few great quality really authentic Italian-style pie out there. read more

Not only were there a ton flies when I walked in, but the staff was barely even paying attention. The manager who runs the place couldn't even be bothered and was disrespecting his workers infront of me. I have never been so disgusted with watching how someone treats their employees.
