First time here overall good. Food/Drink: Pizza by the slice! Pretty good New York style pizza. Limited amount of options and combos. Limited Italian style menu, few appetizers, couple entrees, pizza, soups, and salads! Pizza: Needed more crunch not too much, left me wanting more of a bite. Very flavorful, not to oily though. Sauce was not good too sweet. The Fried chicken, Honey, bacon tasted like a dirty water dog from the city. Garlic knots were super greasy and not very flavorful. Dinning Area: Pretty large, open, area. Benches, and table tops large counter, double closed off entry way so mo breeze. Plenty of seating! Prices: Relatively cheap. 2 slice and 2 knots ran for $9.23! Parking: Plenty of space, shared strip mall lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and regular size. Atmosphere: During the weeknight dinner rush. It was empty. Staff/Attendants: Staff overall was decent. Not too talkative. Decent experience...idk maybe one more try! 7/10

The best garlic knots and great boneless wings. Not sure how anything else is, this is the only reason I go!

Poppy's Pizzeria - Cheese Pizza

Poppy's Pizzeria

We've been on a search for a good pizza place after our local one closed. Poppy's gets a lot of…read morepositive reviews from the community, but I can't see why. The pizza is akin to the type of pizza you'd get from a birthday. You can tell when a pizza place uses fresh, high quality ingredients, and Poppies just doesn't. The dough is clearly pressed and the pizza (and wings) are just poor quality. The service was good enough and the overall cleanliness of the place appeared good. However, I can not recommend as a good place to go for a quality slice.

Located next door to Poppy's Ice Cream, Poppy's Pizzeria is a casual pizza shop serving up a…read morevariety of thin crust NY style pizzas (slices & whole pies), calzones, strombolis, subs, wraps, pasta dinners, fried foods, and cold drinks (Coke products in the cooler). They offer online ordering, but it is slightly more with the service fee than ordering in person or over the phone. This location has been the home to All In The Family Pizza (moved), Roman's Pizzeria & Deli, and Tasty Pizzeria. I stopped by Poppy's Pizzeria for a quick bite. The place was quite busy with the phone ringing. To make things quick, I got the 2 Pizza Slices with Topping & 20 oz drink for $8 plus tax. I chose a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage which were heated up in the oven. There is not much seating inside, but there is ample picnic table seating outside shared with Poppy's Ice Cream. The hot pizza slices were pretty good, which had a thin firm soft and chewy crust topped with the right amount of tomato sauce, meat toppings and melted cheese. I will have to try their calzone on the next visit.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.

Our server, Rachelle M. was great! My app was garlic parm wings that were tasty & crispy-perfect. Three of us had the eggs in purgatory- 3 eggs cooked in a spicy marinara sauce w/ 4 pieces of toasted Perreca's famous Italian bread. Highly recommend this dish that's always on their menu. Others had the very good eggplant rollatini over spaghetti. The original coal-fired bakery is next door offering their signature crusty bread, red tomato pie, cheeses, meatballs, salamis, soppersottas, olives, giant cupcakes, & cannolli. Located in Schenectady's Little Italy. Restaurant hours: Sun, Wed, Thursday 11am-7pm, Fri & Sat 10am-8pm, closed Mon & Tue. More's Perreca's never disappoints. Beer, wine, & cocktails served so try here for brunch too. Thank you, Rachelle & staff. We had a great time. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY, USA
