wish I would have read the before placing my order for a meatball sub and steak quesadilla. The quesadilla hardly had steak in it and the meatball sub was burnt with thin slices of meat that I couldn't even identify. I placed my order through slice and requested a refund which was denied. So I then called the restaurant and still have not heard back from the manager. My next resort will be to dispute the charges through my bank. I paid for edible food what was delivered was completely inedible and I will NEVER order from here again. I don't know what happen if it's under new management or what but the food was absolutely trash if I could give a 0 I would. It's really sad being right by the highschool and hospital wasting people's hard earned money on this trash food.

I've been a customer at Union Pizza since I was a student at the middle school around the corner from this little shop, and it's remained one of my favorite local pies. Maybe it's nostalgia, but there is something so familiar, delicious, comforting about a Union Pizza, and it truly brings me so much joy. The second-gen owner and I are around the same age, and our pizza friendship goes back to the days when he was just a young lad, helping his mother run the place after school; now, he's in charge, and has been for quite some time. Stepping foot into Union Pizza brings back so many memories, like the days when $3 could get you two slices and a can of soda. Inflation aside, Union Pizza's recipe is just really good to me; it definitely has something to do with their homemade sauce, and the way their semi-thin crust bubbles to fluffy, crispy perfection on the days the pizza gods are shining down on the pizza cooks and coaching them on ticket times. The bottom line, Union doesn't make a bad pizza, period. That being said, Union Pizza isn't your fancy slice shop where there are ten to twenty pies raring to go, each one topped with an assortment of ingredients, pulling your tastebuds in every which way, stirring waves of anxiety through your body. Union Pizza is more like the cool older brother who's always looked out for you and never steered you wrong. Even though he was older, and cooler, and hanging out with his older cool-guy friends (total hotties, btw!), Union Pizza wasn't embarrassed to let his little sister know how much he cared for her developing palate and appreciation for pizza. (spoiler alert: that's me, I'm the little sister!) Proud to have grown up with Union Pizza as my big bro, and thrilled that the shop is still in good hands, cranking out the pizza that tastes like my childhood and simpler, Coronavirus-free times.

Classic Cheese. Can't go wrong with this.

Wow!!! I haven't been to Union Pizza in a few years.....only because I do not live in the area any more. However a couple of weeks ago I was back home and was determined to introduce my husband (from Brooklyn) to the best pizza in Upstate. So we stopped by and picked up a classic cheese for us and my adorable nieces. The decision was good one as he and the little ones LOVED it as I knew they would. So glad nothing has changed (except for the prices ) at this place. I remember visiting when I used to attend Oneida Middle and then Schenectady High and Union Pizza was always a treat on a Friday. So glad I was able to introduce a new generation to some of Schenectady's good eats. We'll definitely be returning.

This is a solid local option for us. As a downstate person, I'm never sold on any pizza upstate, but this one is pretty good.

The pizza is akin to the type of pizza you'd get from a birthday. You can tell when a pizza place uses fresh, high quality ingredients, and Poppies just doesn't. The dough is clearly pressed and the pizza (and wings) are just poor quality. The service was good enough and the overall cleanliness of the place appeared good. However, I can not recommend as a good place to go for a quality slice.

This location has been the home to All In The Family Pizza (moved), Roman's Pizzeria & Deli, and Tasty Pizzeria. I stopped by Poppy's Pizzeria for a quick bite. The place was quite busy with the phone ringing. To make things quick, I got the 2 Pizza Slices with Topping & 20 oz drink for $8 plus tax. I chose a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage which were heated up in the oven. There is not much seating inside, but there is ample picnic table seating outside shared with Poppy's Ice Cream. The hot pizza slices were pretty good, which had a thin firm soft and chewy crust topped with the right amount of tomato sauce, meat toppings and melted cheese. I will have to try their calzone on the next visit.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.

Others had the very good eggplant rollatini over spaghetti.
