Italian restaurant in downtown Troy. Friendly staff in a cozy classic cucina. The food was very good and I say that as someone whom just returned from living/working in Italy the past two years. I will be back next time I visit my son whom lives a block around the corner.

Amazing how great this restaurant is. Best secret in the Capital District. We started with mussels in a red sauce. Great flavor with fresh bread to soak up every bit of the broth. The wife started with Caprese Salad that was the freshest we have ever had. Our entrees were Chicken Milanese and Spaghetti Carbonara. Just great flavor and very large portions. Leftovers will make a great lunch tomorrow. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Front of the house is all over their game. We visit this area only a couple times a year but I guarantee we will be back often. It was like a visit to Italy!!!

    Shrimp Michael. Magnificent meal!

I have been going to Lo Porto's for more than 2 decades and I love everything there; from the art on sale on the walls to the magnificent food served by terrific people.

Been years since we've been back to LoPorto and it's as busy as it's ever been. No doubt because the food here continues to impress. Straight forward Italian classics here done well and at the right price. Only complaint is the aging decor and Formica bar. I also can't stand looking at that giant ugly coat rack. Thieve issues won't keep me away but still, it's dated, ugly, and does distract from the fine eating experience LoPorto can give you.

Lo Porto never disappoints. Start with the fried calamari and finish with the chocolate cake. Everything in between will be just as amazing.

One of the few real and delicious Italian places. Familia vibes, great service. The martinis are top notch as well.

Old school Italian. Try the oysters Rockefeller when they're in season. Loved the eggplant - add a meatball!

I've been wanting to try the vegan sandwich options at Mallos for a long time. We tried both - the…read moreeggplant and the cauliflower Reuben. Both were good. The Reuben was a little too unidimensional for my taste, because the cauliflower is fermented I think there isn't enough contrast with the sauerkraut which is really the only other ingredient. the flavor was great but the texture wasn't my favorite. The eggplant itself was amazing! I loved it. But again I think the composition of the sandwich was a little off for my taste, there was a pile of arugula that overpowered the eggplant which was star but a very small portion of the sandwich. The homemade chips were the best I've ever had and YOU SHOULD TRY!!!! Phenomenally crisp and cooked to perfection. Overall, I don't think I'd come back often because there arent a ton of vegan options and I was enthralled by them but if I was in a group with meat eaters and they wanted sandwiches I would happily tag along and get one of these options again.

I was on my way to the Korean restaurant nearby, but I stopped when I saw a cute cartoon dog eating…read morea strawberry on the window of this spot. I hopped on Yelp, saw the great reviews, took 1 minute to browse the menu, and I turned around and walked right in to Mallo's. The space is pink with black and white checkered floor. I was greeted as I walked in and they were patient while I read the menu (again). Everything sounded great but I went with the veggie sandwich but made into a wrap. They brought my food out to me on a little tray with a paper branded with the same cute dog. I loved the wrap! I'm glad I went the wrap route - it was perfect. Mozzarella, arugula, fried eggplant, olives - yummm. It was so delicious and flavorful and a big portion! I took leftovers back to my hotel and had them the next day. I'm so glad I stopped in to this spot and would definitely come back for more of their tasty food.
