    Proscuitto & burrata appetizer
    Kayla G.

We loved Pastina! The food was delicious and the service was very good, we would definitely return for a nice evening out. For food, we were served bread and butter initially. The bread was fresh and warm, and I appreciated it was a light bread and not a heavy start to dinner. We ordered two glasses of red wine, to be honest I do not recall the names. I do wish the wine menu had some descriptors, we are not seasoned wine drinkers and would have liked that guidance on the menu. (We could and should have asked our server, but, it was very busy and we just went for it.) We ordered the prosciutto & buratta appetizer ($20) and we knew right away we were in for a great meal. Zero complaints - order it, it was fantastic. My dinner was the chicken francais, served with pasta. The sauce was very good, and I most certainly used my last bit of bread to soak some up. The chicken was well seasoned and a nice portion. My partner had the eggplant parm, and he ate every last bite, so I'd say that was a good meal, too. No prices are posted online, our meals were in the higher end of the $20s range, each. Our wines were $15/glass and I was satisfied with the pours. The service was very good. We felt well attended to and were never waiting, despite how busy it was. Ambiance is my only critique and reason for four stars. It was busy and we were packed into that tiny restaurant. While lovely to see the restaurant well attended, the sound was a bit overwhelming and the tables are too close to one another, you do feel like you are eating with your neighbors. We also experienced, as another reviewer mentioned, a chef slicing the prosciutto fresh in the main restaurant area. It did feel a little strange. We were quite close to him and made eye contact at a point, but he doesn't interact with the guests and I'm not quite sure I understand the point of this awkward interaction. No room in the kitchen? Haha. We were too full for dessert but will be back for a special night out!

Food and service here are very good. Definitely need a reservation as it's small and very busy. Good wine selection.

Shown to our table and met with hugs by our usual server, Sienna, and the man about the dining room, Ogre. For nearly 4 hours we laughed, told stories and celebrated in the atmosphere of home that is created by owner Armond and his staff. The food is second to none. But it is truly surpassed by the service and feeling of home that is Grappa. Sienna and Ogre met our every need. No they anticipated any need we might have had and delivered like the experts they truly are. Additionally, Malina, another fabulous server made sure to drop by our table to offer her congratulations like any family member would. Grappa is a true gem. It is not going out to eat. It is not dining. It is truly an experience that is difficult to explain! You have to be a part of it to really understand what this place is all about. Call now! Make a reservation for 2 or 22 ... you will be glad you did. There is a good chance we might be sitting right next to you! Dr John Metallo

She had lots of recommendations for what drinks and dishes to order, and she was really attentive towards our party. When we sat at our table, we helped ourselves to the fresh table bread and tapenade while we decided what to order. I decided to get the seafood special, which was a grilled branzino served with blistered green beans and wild rice. While the dish tasted a bit too oily for my liking, there was LOTS of food that came with this dish - enough for me to pack as a lunch the next day! What was also memorable about this experience was the live music playing at front. This is a very nice Italian resto for special occasions and date nights.

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

I arrived for my reservation as my partner was parking and sat for 10+ minutes before someone even acknowledged I was there and offered water. When they came in, a waitress came over and apologized for not offering me water while I waited. Fine. We went to order dinner and it took 25 minutes for THE WORST gnocchi and tagliatelle to arrive. The gnocchi was supposed to be cacio pepe and it would've better served as wallpaper paste. The tagliatelle had zero taste or flavor and the noodles were raw. Both came out cold. The only saving grace was we didn't have to pay for the monstrosity of a meal and we will never have to go back.

I can describe it as organized chaos as they were busy and the staff really do hop around trying to keep up. Starting with over warm bread and a nice oil/garlic dip the menu offers some nice choices and is not overwhelming large. The bruschetta was good and the calamari fresh but somewhat over salty but the red sauce kicked that down some. The entree's were good and the plates plentiful with extra to take home. The fried calamari are always good, definitely could use more sauce for dipping. Tonight we both went with chicken fishes which fell a bit short on flavor. I had the chicken Francese - the pasta was undercooked and the chicken and sauce really lacked flavor and seasoning. He had the chicken saltimbocca which he enjoyed a bit more than mine but next time I would avoid the chicken and probably go back to a seafood entree. Kicker - and in no way a reflection on the restaurant- was when we were finishing an older man was seated near us with what must have been an adult escort, literally falling out of what could only be described as a negligee and drowning in perfume. The clothing and inappropriateness aside, if I wasn't nearly done I would've had to ask to move because I can't tolerate perfume and it must have impacted everyone in that room. I'm sure the other patrons and staff have a lot to talk about! Cafe Calabria is lovely.
