Went out to dinner on a last-minute decision, and the wait was only 5 minutes for a party of 6 on a Thursday night. Fairly busy inside so that was a plus. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Apps, dinners, and drinks were delicious. The bus girl was amazing tipped her separately. Definitely will come back again. The only downfall for me is very hard to get through the doors and from the sidewalks there are drops which I need assistance with and have to go in backward in a wheelchair. Bathrooms are also very hard. Especially on crowded nights. The food though I never have a complaint about. read more

It's been eight years since our last visit to Pasta Pane, and another four years since the visit prior to that one. With the number of times we pass PP each week on our way to Market 32, I'd say the most likely excuse for such infrequent visits is because the parking lot always looks packed. Yesterday's Monday visit confirms the reason for all those cars. The food is very good, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the team service is excellent. The only negative I'd point out is the closeness of the tables and the level of noise from customer conversations and clanking plates and silverware. Delicious fresh bread was brought to us immediately. Each table has bottles of oil and vinegar, a salt shaker, and a pepper grinder on it. We were offered the option of tap, sparkling or still water and our tap water was refilled as needed. For our more serious beverages my wife chose a glass of the featured red they were offering - Bodegas Breca Garnacha de Fuego ($12). She enjoyed it. I had a Guinness ($8) from the handful of drafts that were offered. It was fresh and enjoyable. We decided to share their Salad Special ($17), which was a very good idea since it was large enough to have been a meal in itself. The salad consisted of arugula, grilled apricot, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella, dressed with lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. The greens were fresh, the flavors were a wonderful blend, and the fresh mozzarella was a pleasant change to having goat cheese offered so often. My wife expressed interest in one of the two dishes I was considering, Vitello Sorrentino ($36), so I let her order that one, knowing that I'd still get a taste, and I ordered the Brasato ($36). Her sautéed veal cutlets were layered with eggplant, prosciutto, and mozzarella, simmered in a light mushroom tomato sauce, with a side of roasted potatoes and vegetables. Everything was delicious. My Brasato presentation was so impressively huge looking, I heard customers at an adjacent table asking our server what the dish was. The red wine braised pork was so tender it easily pulled away from the shank bone. The accompanying parsley gremolata, creamy polenta, and additional side of roasted potatoes and vegetables fully complemented the flavorful pork. Both of us decided to take half of our entrées home so we would have room for dessert. Tiramisu ($9) and Crème Brûlée ($10) were our choices along with cups of Cappuccino ($6). My wife thought the custard in the brûlée was a little runny but otherwise quite good. The tiramisu presentation was different than what I'm accustomed to, but the flavor was definitely there. Celebrating our anniversary at Pasta Pane was the right choice. The service was great, friendly and gave suggestions as my husband does not like spicy foods so our server suggested that he order it with no spice. It was perfect for him. I ordered the chicken with sauté spinach (Pollo Pane). Delicious. The breading on the chicken was very flavorful and kept the chicken from drying out. Portions are big but they also offer a half portion which is nice. Another great thing is they order takeout. While we were there at least 20 takeout orders (complete dinner for at least 4 people including the entree's, salad and a loaf of bread ) were picked up. We were driving home from Lake Placid and turned out 12 people were showing up at our house for dinner. Called the restaurant and on very short notice they made some incredibly delicious dinner for all with salad, pollo pane, vodka penne and fresh bread. White cannelloni beans and kale side dish was awesome! Pizza: Of course I had the pizza, and I was not disappointed. Fire roasted, arugula, and prosciutto with a creamy base of cheese. Side of minced garlic and roasted red and I was in heaven. Dinning Area: Pretty large, elegant, area. Bar, booths, high tops and regular tables. Plenty of seating! Prices: Relatively cheap. Personal artisan type pizza, side of cannelloni beans and a alcoholic drink ran me $31.45. Parking: Plenty of space, private lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean, dim lit, smelled good. Atmosphere: During the weekday lunch rush, it was a huge snow storm so this would normally be unfair. It was still poppin! One of our favorites! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal last weekend. We had not been there in a while, but nothing changed - same great welcome, food, and service. We enjoyed our perfectly prepared appetizers, and our main courses were delicious. Their bolognese sauce is to die for! Dessert was shared - cannolis. So good! The atmosphere is both sophisticated and yet casual, perfect combination. One real highlight was that I had a giftcard waiting for me at the desk. I went to meet a group of friends that I hadn't met before. We had a group dinner I forgot to bring cash I had a credit card only. The waitress handled it very well. I've ordered food from pasta Payne before but I've never eaten there. It was very nice inside. Next time we arranged to meet I have to ask not to be up on this step section. I didn't know it had a stepped up section. Everything was nice the bread was good that they gave us as we ordered they had Earl Gray tea which was awesome cuz some places don't carry it. I didn't want to get a meal so I got appetizers calamari. There's a spot on. I had a nice crunch it had a nice texture it was awesome flavored. We came with the marinara sauce that was that was good I'm not in the marinara but I know it was good. I also ordered from the side menu, Fagioli Cavolo. Greens and beans. My dad made this every year and I hated it never ate it I think I tried it once. I had it at a restaurant a year ago and I actually kind of liked it so I thought I'll order it here. I actually kind of love it. It looks beautiful. It was so bright and green and the beans were just perfect and the sauce just tasted awesome. It's like a soupy broth it was in. I don't know if they used to meet soup broth like chicken or if it's just the Bean Juice but it tastes like maybe there might have been cheese like Romano or parmigiana. I don't really know what was in it but it was awesome. I was incredibly happy I ordered it. I didn't take a picture of the food when I was there but everyone knows what calamari looks like there's not great kind you get that has icky breading and there's a really lovely kind that has a delicate perfect breading and the delicate perfect breading is what I got. I did take a picture of The Greens and Beans the next day when I ate the the rest of it. It was still amazing. It's a shame my pictures do not do the food Justice because it was just fantabulous. We had a large party come in and a few things were good - we were seated quickly and since the appetizers were pre-ordered, they arrived quickly, also water was refilled regularly. but everything else was haphazard. instead of one or two waiters assigned to our large party it seemed random people kept showing up. after ordering it was a very long wait for the meals. once they showed up the wrong meals were given to a number of our party. it worked out eventually but lots of confusion. some meals were a little cold. (i'm sure that many meals, it's tough to coordinate, but... this is what restaurants do, right, otherwise we'd eat at home?) no follow up on how meals were, no checking into see if we want dessert etc. it seemed the place was short staffed. i know everyone tried their best. we had a nice night but i would urge management to please make sure when a large party comes in that it takes care of that party. read more

I've considered trying this restaurant for years and finally gave it a try. Best overall evaluation (in my opinion) is average. We were presented with menus, specials and drink menus. I dove into the various options and decided on the risotto IF they could swap the shrimp for another protein (I'm just not a shrimp person!). I was hopeful but quickly disappointed as the server indicated "we are out of the risotto". Back to the menu .... I decided on the salmon although I wasn't quite sure what to expect based on the menu description. I should have gone with the crab cakes special and salad. The salmon was cooked fine but I'm not exactly sure what the rest of the dish was (aside from being very salty). The salmon needed some sort of glaze. My sister got the gnocchi and said it was fine. The best dish of the night was my niece who report the pasta and butter was great and she's full! She even had enough for leftovers the next day. Overall I feel like I expected more for the menu prices. I'll give it another try. read more

My pan-fried pork chop with red sauce and fried vegetables was outstanding! It was accompanied by delicious roasted potatoes. I finished every morsel. My wife had a pasta dish that she loved. Amazing food! I had the bolognese and upgraded to the pappardelle noodles. Wonderful flavor and textures, Al dente and a great atmosphere. Had a beer, based on my colleagues, probably should have had a mixed drink as there were rave reviews at the table all around. Wasn't our first or even second choice but I am really glad we found this place. My sister and nephew were in town and wanted some Italian food. I gave couple recommendations. Neither were available that night for reservations. Sis must have looked it up somewhere and found Pasta Pane and made a reservation. Sure, I've not been and not familiar with the place. Upon arriving at the location, I said to myself "Wasn't this where an Applebee's used to be?" Well, I need to get out more. Pasta Pane did a wonderful job remodeling the place so it is almost unrecognizable from its former business that was here, and that is a good thing. Food was pretty good all around. Portions were larger than it appears from photos which is a good thing. I got a pork shank dish and that was cooked well and tasted great. Server was reasonably attentive and perfunctorily friendly but sufficient. Nice looking place. Reasonable place to bring out company. I believe many years ago, this venue was Applebee's. This is an improvement for Clifton Park. (Applebee's is a chain you can get anywhere.) Family had two appetizers to start our dinner. Previous pictures did not do justice to the actual food delivered. The calamari was chock full of tentacles along with the expected rings with a side of marinara Our other choice was Cozze Alla Curry - mussels in a wine sauce topped with greens. Both were cooked to perfection and enough for five to share without anyone going hungry. Bread was replenished when empty. SO had Brasato, a red wine braised pork shank with parsley gremolata and creamy polenta. It was cooked so the meat fell from the bone. I chose the Frutti Di Mare - linguine pasta, mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, and large pieces of garlic. Tomato sauce was a light spicy tomato sauce. There were leftovers since we ate so much before the meal! Try this restaurant because you want a decent meal. I have my favorite Italian restaurants and this one is comparable. Interesting decor and attentive wait staff. Parking is not an issue. I would suggest a reservation since we could only get in for 8pm on a Saturday. read more

The Chicken entree was a nice portion and we enjoyed that meal. I am giving 4 stars because the Lobster Bisque was 2 stars at best. I ordered the Bisque which is usually thicker than normal soup. Not this Bisque, it was a broth. The description said lumps of crab and lobster. They were shreds of crab. I didn't notice any lobster and the shreds were very few. The flavor was good. But it was watery and that was disappointing, plus there was very little crab shreds and no lobster at all. Stick with a salad instead of the soup. read more

All of us going had high hopes for this place. However after leaving this time, I don't think it would be necessary for me to return. This place was an Applebees before and you can definitely tell it still is on the inside. The layout is exactly the same, just different decorations and they removed the padding from the booths to make it more rustic. So the food, not great, not terrible. The Pollo Pane...not sure what this really was suppose to be but I didn't even touch it after I realized it was smothered in balsamic. For the spaghetti and meatballs, the only thing really good was the meatballs. The sauce they use, is just different and no one here was a fan. The one thing that did stand out to us was the rice meatballs as an appetizer. Service was great and friendly but like I said I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

I think this is one of the best run locally owned restaurants in the capital District. Food is very good to excellent service. Even in these difficult times it's always good to very good and it's I need to spot as far as it's ambience the steel handmade light fixtures in the main dining room are unique to say the least. They got a great happy hour with excellent discounts on appetizers if you're at the bar or at the high tops near the bar It is good as their pizza and pasta Bolognese and chicken Parmesan are I almost always get salmon when I'm a Pasta Pane... served with vegetable of the day and roasted Italian potatoes. They always get it, right. I figure I can get a good a red sauce meal at a lot of places, but salmon prepared properly is a treat for me. Never over cooked or dry and if they're not crazy busy, they are always willing to prepare it slightly different than as described on the menu. Recently, I enjoyed it with all Ala vodka sauce. They also have a dining awards club, so that you get credit every time you dine there - it's amazing how much it adds up for discounts on future meals. Again, if you like happy hour there is is surely the best in Clifton Park and their salads are huge. If you want a salad before your dinner, I suggest you share one. read more

This place is really nice. We enjoyed very much. Everything during our this (first) visit was excellent. The food is very nice, service is also very nice. We are vegetarians so the items we had were Arancini for Appetizer and Norma Pasta (replaced by Vegetarian/plant based Sausages) and added vegetables. The only thing we wish were told about was that replacing Sausage with the Vegetarian Sausage. And also, that the veggies were extra. All these came about $10 extra. Wish they had told us at the time of the order. But all over, we enjoyed very much so I don't want that to impact their ratings. Stopped by here for dinner while on a road trip upstate. It's really close to the Courtyard hotel. We could have actually walked. A Yelp check in earns a free appetizer of arancini (rice balls with tomato and mozzarella). Four balls were in one order and were presented well in an interesting dish. Outside was delightfully crisp and the inside was soft and creamy. I think it would taste better with a bit more cheese over tomato in the ball. The marinara sauce was well seasoned and brought the arancini to the next level. I had the NY strip (medium) for my entree. A large thin slice of pecorino cheese and two slices of tomatoes drizzled with balsamic lay atop of the steak. Steak was well seasoned, tender and enjoyable all by itself. The tomato was fresh and juicy and complimented the pecorino well. Both of those eaten with the steak enhanced the experience. Red sangria was standard and refreshing. The carafe was a while liter and was filled with more wine/juice than ice and fruit. Plenty for the three of us. Tiramisu was in a short glass and was a bit too sweet. It also had a loose texture than what I'm used to. The Bomba is a large peanut butter ice cream bonbon cut in to 4 and drizzled with caramel. It had a strong peanut flavor and smoothness that made it very enjoyable. There was a rewards program available, but I didn't join since I'm not from the area. Service was excellent. I'll be sure to return if I'm close by. read more
