Good is good but they can't deliver to Schaghticoke only 8 miles away. I think if they did a bigger delivery window they would get 5 stars

Best in town for pizza and that is not saying much. Take out only, prices a little to high. Same owners as doms in bought corners.

Running errands in this area and dropped in to try Memphis King's (1st time visit) I always get the same wings (hot buffalo) at each restaurant/bar to keep things fair. Memphis King's wings are smoked, then fried. I've found that you lose a lot of smoke flavor when they're fried to order but these had just the right amount still present. Very tasty. And crispy! (a lot of smoked wings are grilled but, while delicious, it doesn't render enough of the skin to make them crispy and I like crisp!) I've sampled wings from about 30 places (so far) and I would whole heartedly put Memphis King's in my top 10 for sure. Looking forward to trying their other items because their burnt ends look great. As does the house made pastrami *droooool* As for the people, the gal in front of house was wonderful. And the chef (not sure if he was the owner or not) was so nice. Kept checking in on me to see how everything was and kept offering me suggestions and samples. Not pushy, just smart business because I'm 100% gonna go back.

Done. It was an instant hit. I wanted the pastrami sandwich pictured on the website. Turns out, it was every bit as good as it looked. Probably the best I've had in the Capital Region. I think it came with coleslaw but they let me switch it for a small salad. The beer was cold. The server/ bartender was both friendly and efficient. The food came up relatively quickly. I was relieved and delighted. The tavern has just the right look. It's cute from the outside with nice signage. Inside, the lighting is dim-- especially at night--with the feel of a cool dive bar. If you want a more festive setting during the summer, there's outdoor seating complete with hanging string lights. That actually looked very inviting but my friends chose to stay indoors due to the threat of rain. As we prepared to leave, my friends were wondering why they hadn't been to the tavern before. One thing for sure is that we'll be back for more "good cheap eats" and great beer.

I ordered the quesadilla with pulled pork. Both arrived piping hot and were fantastic! Both dishes had tons of meat on them and tasted great. To explain, the ribs were excellent. They were tender, flavorful, and had a ton of meat on the bones. In similar fashion, the brisket was pretty tasty. To breakdown, the brisket had nice flavor with a good amount of fat around the edges. However, the middle of the brisket was a bit overcooked. It was still enjoyable though. After that, I tried the fried pickles which were delicious. The pickles were crispy with a savory and salty taste. These were simply great fried pickles. As a final point, Signal 30 is a really good BBQ restaurant and I highly recommend the ribs and fried pickles.

A friend wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for Father's Day. He'd been talking about it for months…read more Why Father's Day? I'm not entirely sure. I think many fathers have an idea of how they'd like to spend their special day. This particular dad (divorced) loves bbq. So we went. An adult son came along, too. I was not prepared for the spectacle. The large parking lot on Wolf Road in Colonie was very full. There was a line of people waiting outside. Some were standing while others were seated on cushioned benches. The management had pitched a tent at the front entrance where staff took care of check-in. I'd gone online before arriving and placed our party of three on the restaurant chain's online "waitlist" system. It sent me a text message telling us what time to arrive. We were right on time. The staff checked us in and ushered us inside. We were seated at a table within about five minutes. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but its waitlist system was remarkably efficient. Kudos to the staff for making it seem effortless. There were hundreds of people dining at the restaurant and yet we were greeted by three or four staffers who took our orders, checked on us repeatedly and kept bringing us refills of those deliciously warm bread rolls. Since this is most definitely a family restaurant--there are large monitors on the walls playing goofy videos and a tablet on each table with video games--to keep both children and adults occupied. In keeping with the Western theme there are longhorn window decorations and heads of bison, antelope, billy goats and deer on the walls. Our drinks were served almost immediately. I ordered a mocktail called passion fruit sparkler just in case I needed to be the designated driver. The entrees took a bit more time. With so many people to serve, we just had to be patient. So I played the games on the tablet. The server eventually arrived with my order of the beef tips in mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables. The meal was hot and delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals. We were stuffed. I took half of my meal home. Who knew that Father's Day at the Texas Road House was a cultural event? A phenomenon of sorts. I'm still amazed how the staff made everything work so smoothly. With so many families to feed it could have ended up disastrous but it turned out to be just the opposite. My friend had a great day which was made even better when his son surprised us all by insisting on paying for the entire meal. Thanks Texas Road House.

And I thought I would have to give up on my desire to pop back in to The Ruck for a pint. On the way back to my hotel, I decided to just check to see what Dave and crew had on tap. Egads! Seriously folks, this bar is an embarrassment of riches. I only wanted to have one beer, but I left with three. Two I enjoyed on site, Hill Farmstead's Susan and the brewery's Society and Solitude #13. These are heavy hitters, and even just two five ounce pours put me in a place where I felt it would be imprudent to have a third. Fortunately for me, the crowler machine was fully functional, and I was able to grab an oil can of Weldwerks Xtra Xtra Broccolli to go. Beer names are stupid, but they will not dissuade me from drinking something delicious. Sadly, Dave wasn't there, so I didn't get to say hi, or shake his hand, or thank him for his hard work of managing such an epic tap list. Regrettably I rolled in late in the evening and the kitchen had already closed. No wings for me. Not even one of their special deviled eggs... which sounded delicious, btw. Welp, it was a very very good reminder for me to get back to Troy, arrive earlier in the evening, and move The Ruck back up to the top of my list. You Trojans are lucky to have this joint. Go there.
