We were in town here grabbing some dinner with my nephew who is a student at RPI. It's been forever since I've been at a mall, but there was plenty of parking despite the rainy weather, and we got into here quickly for a table for dinner. Their dessert case right in front of the entrance was taunting me.... We were seated and greeted by Sang Jun, who was fantastic. It turns out that we are all Korean, we figured that out at the end of the meal but he was amazing as a server. Never needed to ask for anything, made several recommendations, and we had a really great meal and evening. The menu is giant! Come hungry for sure! I started out with a margarita flight, which was not only beautiful, but delicious. We started out with the ahi tuna nachos, which was delicious and beautiful. Scallions, tuna, fried wonton skins as chips, jalapeños and sauce that made it all worth every calorie. I ignored the jalapeños, but still inhaled the tuna and everything else. Crowd pleaser for sure. My nephew got the salmon special, served with sweet potatoes. I ordered the bang bang shrimp and chicken that came with lo mein. The sauce was a Thai curry base and has veggies and was literally inhale-able. I ate the proteins (cooked perfectly) and some of the noodles, then ended up eating the leftover noodles the next morning. Still just as good cold out of the fridge! My brother got the ramen. They were out of the pork (or it was off the menu) so he went with the beef. That looked so good, bowl was filled to brim with noodles, garnishes, and beef. It was perfect since he wasn't feeling well. My nephew decided halfway thru his salmon dish he wanted a side Caesar salad and Sang Jun brought one tha looked like it was made for the Internet. Well plated and giant portion. We were absolutely stuffed so we had no room for desserts, even though they looked so good in the cooler walking in. We had a nice discussion with SJ about our family trip to Korea last summer, telling him about some of the most embarrassing moments and getting a good laugh. I guess this is a chain, but I hope that I see one again. I'll be ready to have the same exact thing, or try something new- I'm sure it will be amazing. There were six of us and the service was really good. The place is very bright and very big. We got a bunch of appetizers. The potato skins were delicious! Chock full of cheese and bacon and baked to perfection. The spinach and artichoke dip and chips were really good too. The fresh fried mozzarella are pretty big. The kids loved them. My meal was really really good. I got the chicken with lemon sauce (I forget the actual name of the dish), mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was huge and it was delicious. This is my young son's favorite restaurant in town. (In might be that there are also multiple arcades in the mall.) but there are also lot's of food options, including quite a few for a vegetarian diet, an extensive drink menu, and a relaxed vibe that is classy without taking things too serious. The texture was hard and it tasted of grease. Not even the bacon or cheese helped this burger. The fries it came with were obviously frozen and small. Maggie McFly's is one of my go to places for casual dining when going out with a mixed crowd for dinner because there are so many options and they are accommodating to vegans and gluten free diners. I must admit this is the third time I've had the lettuce wraps appetizer as my meal with the Sweet Earth plant-based chick'n. It tastes just like sauteed chicken to me and my non-vegan friends who have tried it. The flavors are really good and the variety of sauces is really great. My wife typically gets a plant-based burger when we go but she tried the Vegan Ravioli this time. She only ate one of these vegetables stuffed ravioli which was topped with more grilled vegetables. I guess it was good she ordered a side of fries. We took the rest home and I brought them to work for lunch and they were pretty disappointing. The oreo cupcake is the only vegan dessert and the one we were given was frozen on the inside but luckily we had no plans to eat it until we got home. It was really good but based on it being frozen I can only assume the desserts are made elsewhere and come in frozen. So this wasn't out best outing at Maggie McFly's but based on previous experiences I would go back again. The other guest we were with enjoyed his slider meal. No children with is this time but they have a kids menu. They also have a full bar with cocktails and many draft beers on tap. This place gets worse and worse. Sad This used to be on of my favorite restaurants. Now it's one of the worst. The food has gone down hill. Menu is big so there is something for everyone and atmosphere is nice. All the food was barely warm but we didn't complain because it took so long to begin with. We waited to be seated for ten minutes. We watched three servers look over at us and not one acknowledged us. One server was making a milkshake by the area we were waiting in and we asked if he could assist us. He did not even look at us. I got my lunch from this joint for the second time in barely a week because I liked the crispy fish and chowder so much, but the overcooked, mostly-batter "fish" with a modicum of slaw and the absence of tartare sauce the second time would make me hesitate to order from them again. Both times, we placed a group lunch order for pickup, and everything was outstanding the first time - the fish was golden brown and the tartare sauce definitely complemented, and the extra tomato slice added 'juice' to what was already a knockout sandwich. I give them credit for the clam chowder which was a creamy,clam-my perfection both times, but such an avoidable inconsistency in quality, coupled with the missing dressing for the sandwich, really put a damp on my lunch. My daughter is a freshman at UAlbany. In just 3 weeks, she's gotten tired of the meal plan at school and discovered Maggie's. Went to visit her this weekend and we wound up here, for dinner, on Saturday night. So glad we did, everything was delicious! It was 6PM when we arrived. We waited less than five minutes to be seated. It's a visually appealing restaurant. Music not too loud. Booths are large and comfy! Our server was Brenna. She was lovely. Friendly, efficient and attentive. Chicken nacho app was huge. Thank goodness because my kid and her roommate were hungry and devoured it. Chicken was tender and seasoned. Lots of olives and lots of cheese. Chips were fresh and crunchy. We got 2 burgers (the pretzel burger and the wagyu burger) a chicken caesar wrap and shrimp tacos (me). Dinner was really quiet because we were eating. Nobody wasted time talking. The burgers were tasty (Dad got truffle fries with his. Said his burger was cooked perfectly and was super juicy) and my tacos were very flavorful and full of shrimp. We skipped dessert because we were full. So to start we were surprised and excited to find a Maggie mcflys in New York and said let's give our favorite place a try. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the name! Dirty silverware, no plates given to share apps. We sat at the bar and didn't see our bartenders smile even once. Personality was non existent in a restaurant that really wasn't busy at all. From the fries to the tacos food came out cold and seemed like it was sitting in the window a while. Wasn't offered a second drink, even though I would have liked one. The martinis were inconsistent. For appetizers had the deviled eggs and spinach artichoke platter. The eggs were ok. However the artichoke dip was very good. Very cheesy and I believe it had garlic in it. Comes with bread, 2 different kinds of chips, and vegetables. For dinner had the seafood casserole. The sauce was so good, I think the sherry in the sauce brought out the flavors. Not bad for a regional chain! I find the service can be spotty, sometimes a bit slow on the drinks but food always comes quick. The beer selection is great - tons of taps and a good local selection. The food is average and on par with other chain restaurants. I know they use local ingredients but nothing is really stand out. Had a wonderful experience tonight with my waitress and she was very attentive and hands on. The night worsened when a dark haired male waiter with some of his head shave from both sides of his head came to cash me and my friend out and he came back in a huff and attitude when the card reader didn't work. I asked him to explain what happened and he said "I wasn't talking to you." I told him I understand but I said you were previously explaining that the card reader didn't work so I wanted to learn more about it as I wanted to pay for my meal. The card reader finally worked. And then the female waitress I had the entire night came over and I explained what happened. She apologized and offered to call the manager. I told her I didn't care to make a scene. She assured me I wouldn't be making a scene. I told her I'd rather just leave as this same male waiter with the attitude about the card reader started to walk back over. I left and won't be back to this location. Later that night I called the manager who was apologetic and explained that this same male waiter (with the sides of his head shaved) had similar issues with other patrons earlier in the night with regards to his attitude. Manager explained she sent this waiter home prior to my phone call with her and was taking disciplinary actions against him. She said that she intended to pull him from being at the bar for the foreseeable future. read more
