I came here for lunch with a group of friends because of their perceived reputation for being able to accommodate folks with gluten intolerance. They did live up to that expectation. All the staff with whom we chatted, hostesses and servers, were very knowledgeable about which offerings were either gluten free or could be made gluten free. Their menu seemed to go on forever, so many pages of options, for both food and drink. I opted for one of their more basic burgers, which I requested done medium. It was definitely well beyond medium, but it was still so juicy and tender that I was still satisfied with it. All of our meals came out at once (always a plus), and we were checked on regularly. Maggie McFly's is in a challenging location, because it's right across the corridor from 110 Grille. I have no idea how busy they are evenings or weekends, but I do feel this place is worth considering. read more

If you're local, have you ever eaten at Maggie McFlys in Crossgates Mall, Albany NY, If not, don't. I havent tasted the food yet because it took 20 minutes to get waited on, another 10 minutes to get our drinks, then another 15 minutes for someone to take our order, and now still waiting on our appetizer and who knows when our actual food will come. Let me add some clarification that for most of this time I've watched the two waiters standing there chatting with a waitress, or one chat chatting with a couple guys at the bar, and I can count how many customers are in this restaurant right now on one hand. Trish had a similar experience about four or five years ago which she came here with some work acquaintances how we decided to give them a second chance. They won't be getting a third. read more

We were in town here grabbing some dinner with my nephew who is a student at RPI. It's been forever since I've been at a mall, but there was plenty of parking despite the rainy weather, and we got into here quickly for a table for dinner. Their dessert case right in front of the entrance was taunting me.... We were seated and greeted by Sang Jun, who was fantastic. It turns out that we are all Korean, we figured that out at the end of the meal but he was amazing as a server. Never needed to ask for anything, made several recommendations, and we had a really great meal and evening. The menu is giant! Come hungry for sure! I started out with a margarita flight, which was not only beautiful, but delicious. We started out with the ahi tuna nachos, which was delicious and beautiful. Scallions, tuna, fried wonton skins as chips, jalapeños and sauce that made it all worth every calorie. I ignored the jalapeños, but still inhaled the tuna and everything else. Crowd pleaser for sure. My nephew got the salmon special, served with sweet potatoes. I ordered the bang bang shrimp and chicken that came with lo mein. The sauce was a Thai curry base and has veggies and was literally inhale-able. I ate the proteins (cooked perfectly) and some of the noodles, then ended up eating the leftover noodles the next morning. Still just as good cold out of the fridge! My brother got the ramen. They were out of the pork (or it was off the menu) so he went with the beef. That looked so good, bowl was filled to brim with noodles, garnishes, and beef. It was perfect since he wasn't feeling well. My nephew decided halfway thru his salmon dish he wanted a side Caesar salad and Sang Jun brought one tha looked like it was made for the Internet. Well plated and giant portion. We were absolutely stuffed so we had no room for desserts, even though they looked so good in the cooler walking in. We had a nice discussion with SJ about our family trip to Korea last summer, telling him about some of the most embarrassing moments and getting a good laugh. I guess this is a chain, but I hope that I see one again. I'll be ready to have the same exact thing, or try something new- I'm sure it will be amazing. Thanks to the team and Sang Jun for a memorable meal here in Albany! read more

There were six of us and the service was really good. The place is very bright and very big. We got a bunch of appetizers. The potato skins were delicious! Chock full of cheese and bacon and baked to perfection. The spinach and artichoke dip and chips were really good too. The fresh fried mozzarella are pretty big. The kids loved them. My meal was really really good. I got the chicken with lemon sauce (I forget the actual name of the dish), mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was huge and it was delicious. Lightly breaded and fried topped with a creamy lemon sauce. Everything else looked really good too. So much food! read more

This is my young son's favorite restaurant in town. (In might be that there are also multiple arcades in the mall.) but there are also lot's of food options, including quite a few for a vegetarian diet, an extensive drink menu, and a relaxed vibe that is classy without taking things too serious. It's sort of an everything restaurant: you can chill here after a long work week, celebrate a party, or even have a first date. Or take your kids because they want to go to the arcade. read more

I met some good friends here for dinner. The company was fantastic the food was not. I ordered the farm to table burger medium. It was well done and not very good. The texture was hard and it tasted of grease. Not even the bacon or cheese helped this burger. The fries it came with were obviously frozen and small. On the positive side my vodka and soda was fine and they service was friendly. I liked the booth we sat in too. read more

Love the ambience and food are delicious. It was our first time here and will definitely return. Maggie McFly's is one of my go to places for casual dining when going out with a mixed crowd for dinner because there are so many options and they are accommodating to vegans and gluten free diners. I must admit this is the third time I've had the lettuce wraps appetizer as my meal with the Sweet Earth plant-based chick'n. It tastes just like sauteed chicken to me and my non-vegan friends who have tried it. The flavors are really good and the variety of sauces is really great. My wife typically gets a plant-based burger when we go but she tried the Vegan Ravioli this time. She only ate one of these vegetables stuffed ravioli which was topped with more grilled vegetables. I guess it was good she ordered a side of fries. We took the rest home and I brought them to work for lunch and they were pretty disappointing. The oreo cupcake is the only vegan dessert and the one we were given was frozen on the inside but luckily we had no plans to eat it until we got home. It was really good but based on it being frozen I can only assume the desserts are made elsewhere and come in frozen. So this wasn't out best outing at Maggie McFly's but based on previous experiences I would go back again. The other guest we were with enjoyed his slider meal. No children with is this time but they have a kids menu. They also have a full bar with cocktails and many draft beers on tap. First time visiting and we will probably be back! Firstly, the menu is MASSIVE. If you are indecisive, I would recommend looking at the menu beforehand because there are a lot of options. Alcoholic beverages were tasty and came quick. The service was good (our waiter was Adam) and we were able to get in and get out in a timely manner. Food was also delicious and we were able to take half of it home to eat for another meal. read more

After several hours at Dave and Busters and some clothes shopping, we were ready for a nice lunch and some down time. Not wanting the cattle like feeding at the food court, we wandered into Maggie McFly's. We were warmly greeted and provided at our request, to a half table, half booth spot in the restaurant. The ambience is upscale sports bar, clean and uncrowded. Our waitress quickly took our drink orders and left us to peruse the extensive menu. It is impossible to list all the varied choices of food but there are choices for every taste and fantasy no matter the age. Even though I am not an afternoon drinker, the varied beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages is impressive. We ordered lunch. Service was excellent. The food arrived quickly, well plated, hot and inviting. Our drinks were kept filled and our waitress made sure we lacked for nothing. Prices for the quality of service and food as well as the sanctuary from the chaos of the mall are very reasonable. I would go back to Maggie McFly's even were I not going to the mall. It is that good. read more

I came for a late night dinner. Slow service & food is nothing above a college student's dorm cooking abilities, but at least the fries are decent. This place gets worse and worse. Sad This used to be on of my favorite restaurants. Now it's one of the worst. The food has gone down hill. Sometimes it mediocre, but my last 2 times it was unbearable. The staff is slow and not present most of the time. My waitress seemed like she had a huge dose of magic mushrooms before she took our order. We had to continuously repeat and she kept coming back to confirm our order. My margarita was like a salt bomb I had to return it. Not to mention our duck taped seats. Let's just say After being a customer for 3 years I will not be returning. read more

We waited to be seated for ten minutes. We watched three servers look over at us and not one acknowledged us. One server was making a milkshake by the area we were waiting in and we asked if he could assist us. He did not even look at us. Finally we called to a server who stopped what they were doing to seat us. From there, Jack was awesome. The food was great. The price was on par with the dishes. The menu had fabulous choices. The establishment almost lost us at every person that ignored us at 12pm when we waited for 10 minutes to no acknowledgement. Thankfully, Jack was the mvp. read more

I got my lunch from this joint for the second time in barely a week because I liked the crispy fish and chowder so much, but the overcooked, mostly-batter "fish" with a modicum of slaw and the absence of tartare sauce the second time would make me hesitate to order from them again. Both times, we placed a group lunch order for pickup, and everything was outstanding the first time - the fish was golden brown and the tartare sauce definitely complemented, and the extra tomato slice added 'juice' to what was already a knockout sandwich. I give them credit for the clam chowder which was a creamy,clam-my perfection both times, but such an avoidable inconsistency in quality, coupled with the missing dressing for the sandwich, really put a damp on my lunch. I hope they continue to improve. read more

Mediocre at best. Waited 15 minutes for a hostess to even come up front. It took ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and there were two other parties waiting with us. We went early lunch and the place was maybe a quarter filled and it took 45 minutes to get three dishes. Took 10 just to get three waters. Menu is big so there is something for everyone and atmosphere is nice. All the food was barely warm but we didn't complain because it took so long to begin with. Maybe it was a bad day but it was terrible. read more

We have been here many times. Though we've had a few instances where we were not happy with the food we were served, the staff took it back to the kitchen and made it right. One instance we sat at the bar and experienced very poor service. BUT, overall, our experience here has been mostly good. They have a very expansive menu. Something for everyone. Lots of beer options too. The staff is great 99% of the time. Never feel rushed. A great place to eat and enjoy catching up with friends. read more

My daughter is a freshman at UAlbany. In just 3 weeks, she's gotten tired of the meal plan at school and discovered Maggie's. Went to visit her this weekend and we wound up here, for dinner, on Saturday night. So glad we did, everything was delicious! It was 6PM when we arrived. We waited less than five minutes to be seated. It's a visually appealing restaurant. Music not too loud. Booths are large and comfy! Our server was Brenna. She was lovely. Friendly, efficient and attentive. Chicken nacho app was huge. Thank goodness because my kid and her roommate were hungry and devoured it. Chicken was tender and seasoned. Lots of olives and lots of cheese. Chips were fresh and crunchy. We got 2 burgers (the pretzel burger and the wagyu burger) a chicken caesar wrap and shrimp tacos (me). Dinner was really quiet because we were eating. Nobody wasted time talking. The burgers were tasty (Dad got truffle fries with his. Said his burger was cooked perfectly and was super juicy) and my tacos were very flavorful and full of shrimp. We skipped dessert because we were full. We'll be back for Family Weekend, at the University, in three weeks ;) read more

Horrible restaurant with rude and disrespectful staff. Eat somewhere else where staff actually have manners.

Food was delicious. My wife had a bowl of chicken, rice and vegetables soup. A hearty soup with great flavor. I had the street tacos with my choice of types. I chose the fish, chicken and avocado. All were good. Service was good. Be ready to look through the menu. There are many offerings. read more

Ahí tuna nachos - 4/5 very solid, just a little too much mayo in my opinion, but I know I often like less than most people Lettuce wraps - 5/5 absolutely delicious! Not actually what we ordered (we asked for the Thai chicken salad and were brought the lettuce wraps instead), but we ate them and said to forget about the salad as we hate wasting food and I was glad we did... the lettuce wraps were delicious! They did also take them off the bill for us :) Southern belle skinny cocktail - 2/5 the peach flavor just tasted super artificial to me and this drink wasn't hitting the spot. Overall a super expansive selection of choices with good food! I would definitely return. read more

Had dinner on Sunday. There's a display case that greets you and plenty of tables. Just your average atmosphere that had music playing. For appetizers had the deviled eggs and spinach artichoke platter. The eggs were ok. However the artichoke dip was very good. Very cheesy and I believe it had garlic in it. Comes with bread, 2 different kinds of chips, and vegetables. For dinner had the seafood casserole. The sauce was so good, I think the sherry in the sauce brought out the flavors. Had shrimp, lobster and scallops served with rice. I suggest everyone try if you like seafood. read more

Out of all the restaurants at Crossgates Mall, Maggie McFly's never fails to disappoint with its food and drinks. Honestly, I've made it my mission to try everything on their menu, as there has not been a single thing that has failed to disappoint. They have an abundant amount of choices with good outdoor and indoor seating. I sometimes even catch myself coming here after a day's work or to get work done in general because of the pleasing atmosphere of the place that allows me to feel comfortable within the setting. Though I've challenged myself to try everything on the menu, I can't help but get my regular, just because of how good it is. They are my #1 Takeout spot in Albany and my #1 Dining-in. So to start we were surprised and excited to find a Maggie mcflys in New York and said let's give our favorite place a try. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the name! Dirty silverware, no plates given to share apps. We sat at the bar and didn't see our bartenders smile even once. Personality was non existent in a restaurant that really wasn't busy at all. From the fries to the tacos food came out cold and seemed like it was sitting in the window a while. Wasn't offered a second drink, even though I would have liked one. The martinis were inconsistent. Crowd was the friendliest part and we had more hospitality from the people we waited in line with than the employees. Disappointing and not encouraging to visit again. read more

Wow what a selection. From pages of drinks to pages of various food it was beyond hard to pick. I think by being hungry and a few drinks jn I could have had one of everything. So we ordered mozz sticks which were huge double fried rectangles and he had a bacon and egg burger with fries and I had the lettuce wraps. Omg everything was amazing. Only deducted a star bc the waiter couldn't give us recommendations bc he was so new and they did not have mint for a skinny mojitos. But I def will be back!!! read more

Not bad for a regional chain! I find the service can be spotty, sometimes a bit slow on the drinks but food always comes quick. The beer selection is great - tons of taps and a good local selection.
