I visited around 5:45 PM and had a disappointing experience. There were only about 15-20 people in the restaurant, but I still waited around 35 minutes for a waiter. My overall experience was terrible - food, service, and ambiance. I'll never return. I entered D&B from the parking lot to watch a sports PPV because it was getting late and the mall would be closed by the end of the PPV. There was a sign about seating, but no one was available to show me a seat. I made my way over to the bar seating where there are TV screens. Behind the bar seating are some booths. The first thing I experienced was the horrendously loud noise from all the gaming machines. Next, there were very few customers at the bar or using the booths. The customers at the bar were more interested in each other than anything on the screens. The barmaid was at the far end of the bar yukking it up with some guy who probably was her boyfriend and I was ignored. Finally, I went up to someone who worked there and was told something about a basketball game being on and the PPV will start after the game. Total bullsh*t. Another employee got a remote and found the PPV and put it on two screens. The barmaid eventually came over and seemed disturbed that she had to take my order. She soon disappeared again and didn't ask me anything about how I liked the food or whether I wanted a refill (soft drink) until I was about ready to leave. Now it's close to midnight, and the bar area booths got swamped with little kids who just finished with the games. What normal parents bring their little kids to a bar near midnight when they should be in bed sleeping? I was glad the PPV was over and I couldn't leave fast enough. read more

Not to be confused with Dove And Butter, which sell soaps and spreads for your bread, this is a fun paradise. This is a pretty handy Dave & Buster inside the massive Crossgates Mall and as usual the best thing about it are all the games. Some of them are delightful and you can spend hours here, but the main problem - and the reason I don't give it a higher rating - is that you can also spend so much money here. Games are not cheap at all and I really think the games should be free with the purchase of food or drinks or something like that - or even just free. First off let me start by saying I was absolutely amazed my the staff in this location. I had the pleasure of being helped by two employees by the name of Charde and Lisa. When I say they went above and beyond it was an understatement. This was my first time at this location and I came with my family and friends. From the time we entered we were greeted by friendly staffed and we were helped in getting game cards for my kids, orders by the bar and even when we were seated at the booth with my family. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of everything but I will describe it. I started off with the blackberry margarita and my friend with an original margarita both of which were good. I ordered buffalo wings and fried pickles. The only way I enjoy pickles is fried and they did a great job. The wings were fried perfectly and the sauce was ratio was perfect. Even the dry rubbed wings my friend ordered was just delicious. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender. I then ordered the Paula D pinacoola and I have to say I originally got it because it was suppose to have a henny shot in it and it def didn't. To be honest it almost tasted like a virgin pina coolada. That was the only thing I was disappointed in. My friend and I also had a round of tequila shots during their happy hour. My kids had the sliders and a classic burger and fries and they loved it. My kids are very basic but picky eaters. So if your child is the same you can't go wrong with the classic burger and fries. I absolutely hope that this review makes it to corporate somehow because both Lisa and Charde need a raise. In the days of Covid, they don't really seem to be worried. The place is crowded and there are no Covid protocols. Nobody cleaning the games everyone was touching constantly. Employees half masked or not at all. I got the appetizer ribs which were slathered with a kick of spicy Korean bbq sauce and scallions. Very meaty and delicious. They were big and enough to share. I also got chicken wings which were really good! One of my dinner mates got a steak. I can't remember what it was but he was very impressed of how good it was there. The food is very good, the atmosphere is very fun and there are lots of games to play. Of course you collect "tickets" electronically and can spend them in their little store full of trinkets and cool things. Plenty to choose from. Just like you did in an arcade as a kid. Waitress swiped our card for the table next to us and our table both!! Charged us an extra $228 without us knowing until we got our credit card statement. Also the food was horrible. I've already spoken with guest relations and they told me they won't help even though they pretend to want to help by commenting on every bad review and suggest to contact them... Each time we called the store to resolve this issue the staff was extremely rude and dismissive, especially the kitchen manager Juan who was being rude before I even said a word to him. They all kept saying they couldn't handle the issue and the managers were too busy and didn't want to talk to us no matter what time of day we called. Finally got to talk to a manager Stephanie who admitted it was their fault and that we would see a refund within 10 days. 20 days later, no refund... Tried calling Dave and Busters corporate office who sent us an email saying that they wouldn't do anything to handle this issue for us. They wouldn't even reach out to the store to try and help resolve the issue. They just told us to call the store again and deal with it ourselves. What a joke Dave and Busters corporate office is. After dealing with rude staff again we finally go to talk with another manager named Shannon, who said she would let the general manager Stephanie know and look into it and call us back. She clearly lied to us because we never heard back and were eventually told by Stephanie that no manager there had even heard of this issue yet... Another week later we had to call back 3 more times and deal with staff being rude to us yet again. Especially the rude kitchen manager Juan. At which point Stephanie made up some BS excuse about why the refund was never processed. Finally after that uphill battle which took a month of frustration from the time we first called, we got our refund. This place and their employees are a sad example of a business. Especially because all of the food ordered by our party was horrible. After this experience and seeing the other reviews posted showing mice all around the kitchen we will definitely not be back. First time here from the city visiting my friend. Wanted a nice night out but it was ruined the moment I got there. To start off the night since we wanted a drink, we tried ordering our first drink at the bar and it was a huge disappointment. Standing there for a good 20mins and getting ignored by "Katie". Some people were ordering food so we gave her the benefit of the doubt, but then a white male came in and she went right over and assisted him first. To note I am an asian woman and my friend is Latina so it felt a little racially motivated. She looked at us when we expressed some confusion and said "I'll be right there" in an attitudinal manner. I went there for dinner for the first time. Ordered a few appetizers and I have to say that the Hawg-a-saurus cheese fries are really really good. Get the sweet potato fries with this not regular. I was surprised at how good the different meats tasted on this dish. Very flavorful. I also ordered the nachos app and the pretzel dogs app. My kids loved the pretzel dogs (of course). The nachos were fine but my preference is when there are tons of toppings covering everything. So personally I thought it would have been better with even more beans, guac, meat, tomatoes etc. read more

A gamer's paradise? Not quite. A kid's dream come true? It might be. But what I know is that it is a food/drink/game venue that caters to both young and old. Being in a mall location, it has its pros and cons. It has an outdoor entrance for those who do not want to enter through the mall and it is accessible during the mall after hours. The space is dark and somehow smells the same each time I've been...not sure what it is but it does smell kind of sweet? The games light this place up and can be very noisy when mixed with kids. They offer game day specials at the bar and game deals when you either dine in and buy a Power Card or have a coupon. Basically, the more chips you purchase, the cheaper your game play is. Wednesdays are great because all games are half off! I've had a fair share of redeeming my points/tickets (which are now all digital and load to your Power Card if you choose to do so in lieu of physical tickets) at the Prize Center for petty things like candy, toys, stuffed animals, earphones, beer glasses, and more. There are many people who rack up enough points to get gaming consoles and other popular items. I found out recently that you can turn points into certificates for appetizers and desserts at the restaurant within. The restaurant is noisy as well...you won't be able to have a lot of conversation with your party. The food is quite generic as with many other franchises...you know, the typical mozzarella cheesesticks, quesadillas, potato skins, burgers, sandwiches, etc. The drinks are also very generic, I didn't notice any local beer. The cocktails are somewhat unique...snowkones and glowkones, anyone? A destination for everyone? Maybe once in a while. This place reminds me of a grown up version of Chuck-e-Cheese. In addition to the restaurant (which I have eaten in before but not recently), they have a lot of electronic games ranging in diversity from "Connect Four" to "Frogger" to Air Hockey to Dance, Dance, Revolution (DDR), with Basketball Hoops and Skee-Ball thrown in. Many of the games are single player designed to win tickets which you can later cash in for useless junk, though some of the games are head-to-head combat. Everything runs off of electronic cards, much like credit cards, that you load with "tokens" and have your tickets stored on. The games all refer to tokens though it really means you stick your credit card thing in to play. Many times, the card didn't read but trying it again usually took care of it. Once, they had to send a technician to fix the machine. The cost for each game varies but are always in decimals (6.9 tokens, 5.5 tokens, etc.) How stupid is that? The more popular games, or perhaps the games that give out more tickets, cost more. They had an option to buy a one hour pass that covered all electronic games, but the hostess couldn't tell us which games are considered "electronic" games. We didn't want to miss out, so we bought a $23 pass that came with 125 tokens. We played a giant set of Knock'em, Sock'em Robots; Connect Four; Mario Karts (head to head); an Ice Breaking game; and Guitar Hero (head to head). I had a good time, though some games weren't intuitive and it took a play through to understand the controls. This can be expensive if you only planned to play some games once. Most disappointing was that we went specifically to play DDR. My wife is really interested in doing it. But, when we got there a couple of kids had claimed the machine and through the 90 minutes we were there they just kept playing. In fact, they changed their clothes and stashed their gear to the point that it looked like they were treating it as their personal work-out gym. Perhaps they would have let us cut in, but my wife didn't want to make a fuss. It would be nice if there was a line or a check-in place where you could reserve your spot on the machine. It was loud, it was fun, it was expensive, and it was perfect for a cold winter night. I think before I go back though I will want to find out more about the one-hour pass. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. Went here over the holidays a couple of months ago with my girlfriend while visiting family in the Albany area (I live in NYC). Tried to order a drink at the bar with my girlfriend and was told by both shift managers that my girlfriend did not have an acceptable form of ID even though she had her global entry card (she didn't have her passport on her). A global entry card is an acceptable form of ID (see link below) but the managers continued to not accept its validity. The most unacceptable part was that one of the managers looked at the card and said "it's not even in English" when it was 100% in English. My girlfriend is also Latin so I don't know where he was trying to take this assumption but it appeared racial to us. We were disgusted overall with the entire situation and wanted to leave. I asked for a refund on the game card we just loaded up with money, and were told that they could not refund the money and that we would have to call their accounting department in the morning (which I never did cause I didn't really care about the money, it was more about how we were being treated, but now I am also stuck with this useless game card). To summarize, we felt extremely disrespected and the staff needs more education on forms of ID outside of what you might typically see only in upstate NY. Consider printing out a reference guide that shows valid forms of ID that could be kept handy. Took our granddaughter here for her birthday dinner and games. This is the 1st time we've ever been to a Dave and Buster's restaurant . Noisy of course because of all the wonderful game machines that adults and children like to play. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who explained the menu and was eager to help make menu suggestions. Since our granddaughter was there before she knew what to order so she decided to have a grape fizzy with gummy worms, pretzel hot dogs with fries and of course ice cream for dessert . The menu features a lot of choices for appetizers, salads entrees, beers, mixed drinks etc. My dining mate ordered a chicken caesar salad and I ordered the Thai chicken salad with a peanut ginger sauce and a side order of sweet potato fries. The chicken cubes on my salad were so dry, hard ,and unpalatable that I showed our server. So a new chicken breast was prepared for me . I must say even though it was more tender, it was not the tastiest chicken breast I usually expect and get on salads . The price of my fries were comped. My dining made enjoyed his salad but said it was just average . Overall the food was plated nicely . Menu prices moderate . My granddaughter asked for chocolate ice cream for dessert but they were out of chocolate ice cream . Probably won't get food here again but had a lot of fun playing the games. Also - the tipping on the bottom is wrong. Dave & Buster's opened at Crossgates Mall (Western Ave side on the lower level) over this past weekend. D&B's is a fun place to go for food, drinks, watching sports, and plenty of interactive games to play. I've been to several other D&B locations around the country before this location opened. My favorite D&B's location is at Franklin Mills in Philadelphia. This place is like "Chuck E. Cheese" for grownups, a similar concept to Wolf's 1-11, Jillian's, and Game Works. The atmosphere here is on the loud side. The bar area in the center is surrounded by ample flatscreen TVs, a great place to catch the game while enjoying beers and cocktails and pub style fare. There's high chair seating around the center bar counter surrounded by booths. The general dining area (dim lighting) has booth and table seating. The good sized arcade area has plenty of games to choose from, such as Pac Man Battle Royale, Press Your Luck, Skeeball, and much more. Some games you can win coupons to redeem for various prizes such as stuffed dolls (large & small), toys, apparel, slow cookers, balls, and candy. On Wednesdays, all games are half price to play! There were no pool tables to be found at this D&B's. The food offerings consist of American pub style fare include sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, chicken, pasta dishes, fried foods, appetizers, and desserts. The prices here are moderate. I stopped at the new D&B's for a late dinner break after driving three hours from NH (on a long road trip). There were staff checking IDs at the exterior entrance. Must be 18 or older to enter, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 25 or older, maximum 6 minors per adult. All people under 18 must leave the place by 11PM. I believe IDs are also checked at the indoor mall entrance (I saw the staff checking IDs during the day (all times) at the Syracuse (Destiny USA) location). Upon arriving, I was promptly seated by the hostess, standing beyond the customer service counter in the front area. I started out with a Diet Coke ($2.79) and decided to go with the Eat, Play Win Combo for $16.99, in which you choose from one of 8 select entrees and get a $10 Power Card with 100 tickets. For my entree, the Chicken & Shrimp Rockefeller (normal price $13.79) served with mashed potatoes and broccoli was very rich to eat, had a unique smell, and pretty decent tasting overall. The grilled chicken was very tender and the small shrimp were soft. The chunky mashed potatoes were quite good, with a soft and dense. texture. Since the food was very filling, so I passed on the offer for dessert. The dinner check total for dinner entree, $10 Power Card, and Diet Coke was $21.11 with tax and before tip. The net cost for the $10 Power Card was only $3.20 with entree purchase, a pretty good deal! The service here was good. I was offered and given free soda refills. My entree arrived to my table in about 15 minutes after ordering. I also took advantage of the free wifi access (with password) while I waited for my food. After dinner, I played a few games with the $10 Power Card (48 chips) including a couple games of Skeeball (2.6 chips per game). I will be sure to redeem the rest of my Power Card on a Wednesday, so I can take advantage of the half price games. read more

Fried American food and brain-frying video games. Dave and Buster's is not quite a grown-up Chuck E. Cheese. It's as if you took Chuck, fed him an hallucinogenic mushroom, licked his little mouse paws, shoved them into an electrical socket, dropped him in a vat of TGIFriday's fry grease, handed him a beer, and plopped him into the dystopian world of Back to the Future II where Biff runs Pottersville. The games and loud, night club wannabe environment rule it out for toddlers but older kids will be enthralled, if you can stand it. I remain bemused at the number of dating 20-something child-free types that patronize the place; it seems like an odd place for a rendezvous, and I am hard pressed to think of an analog during my dating days, but then again that was back in the era of steam-powered video games and before smoothies had Red Bull in them (on this latter note I am quite in earnest, do NOT buy one for your child). In any event the place skews younger than I am, and clearly I am a fossil in being appalled by the younger parents here who'd brought infants and toddlers past not just a sensible bedtime for hem, but for me. The times they are a changin'. D&B's as ever seems to have problems at this location keeping its kitchen tickets straight, and our seating took forever, but the food is just as tasty or tastier than the similar standard upscaled fried - and - grilled fare at your typical Ruby Tuesdays. Seriously, D&B's oddly seems to have good quality control here; the last time I went to one was for a bachelor party a decade ago and the food was well above average for the loud sportsy pseudo adultish playpen bar restaurant genre. You will, however, end up spending twice what you will spend at a Chuck E Cheese for the same amount of bemusement, however ephemeral, for the kids, quality of food notwithstanding. D&B has gone full digital with cards and credits instead of tokens and tickets (the machines still spew tickets, but they're meaningless - they keep track of tickets you've earned on your card, which makes the tickets for trinkets non-transferable. This makes the very bad deal of essentially gambling for plastic crap even more inscrutable; buy 100 D&B's credits for 25 dollars, for example, and then swipe the card on a machine, and for some reason the machine charges in partial units - from 3.2 to 6.8 (typical) to 9.3 units per game. Playing the easiest games the kids managed to earn enough ticket/credits for a superball and a beanbag worth about 20 cents retail, an even worse return, if that had seemed possible, than Charles Frommage's carnival-highway robbery. As ever, it's like a little school for gamblers. Next stop, the casino. The food is basically marked up about 25% over similar entrees from the 99/Ruby Tuesday's/Applebees menus, which is a relative bargain compared to the games cost. Wait staff were very friendly; bar staff, indifferent - I watched one,two ,three, four, five, six, seven staff congregate and gossip in the middle of the ginormous bar for several minutes on a not very busy night before one of them deigned come over. The game management staff seemed a bit surly in explaining things to us, as if we showed up at a trendy nightclub in the city without our names on The List. This is a special-rewards-only destination as far as I'm concerned, and because of the cost I sort of wish I'd never thought to bring them here, but the kids are enthralled with it for the sheer size and noise level. So it is a good thing there's a full bar, even if it's hard to get a drink, unlike Chuck E Cheese they don't have a limit on the number of servings, all the better to benumb oneself. (Thanks as ever for my designated driver; an excellent reason to stay married.) In the meantime, I'm sure the next generation which engages in its mating rituals here and then brings its progeny back to the scene of the crime finds me hopelessly quaint and will continue to shower D&B's with money. I mainly go here for the UFC and decent food. But on big fight nights it can be very difficult to get a table. Especially in the seat yourself area where most of the tvs are. I don't like having to beg, bribe, intimidate and or sneak into a spot and even when you show up 2-3 hours early people are already camping on tables. Sometimes you actually see fights over the tables and people have tried selling their tables to others that are waiting which can get awkward when you have to get management involved. So while I like the food, and the service when you can get a table, this place is becoming so successful it either needs to grow or I need to find an alternative venue. Also, they employ a dj periodically and it sucks because it cranks the noise pollution to 11. I come here to eat and watch sports not go clubbing. read more

As always the games are great and the kids had a blast. If you've never been to D& B's I would strongly urge you to stay away from the food and bar area. I'm not sure which is worse, the food or service. But there are a ton of great games available and I love the basketball hoops and mario kart (Lol). read more

Once again Dave and busters was amazing!!!!! The food is awesome at a reasonable price and service was the best!! We met our friends here again for our holiday get together and the kids had a blast! We did have one issue with food in that two of our burgers were not medium as ordered! Waiter was apologetic and we told him don't worry and we decided to keep them so we could all eat together. Manager came right over and apologized even though we were not angry and gave us three free meals! GREAT business!!!! My salad (see pic) was the largest salad I have ever ordered out and it was delicious! I highly recommend this place for the food and atmosphere!!! read more

We didn't eat here. But today I took brother here. He had been asking to play the jump rope game for a few weeks. He's 15, but is on the autism spectrum. He's on the lower end. While playing, a worker (I wish I got his name) informed us that he couldn't hold on to the edges while jumping. When telling us, J lost. He could have lost for many reasons but this employee made it so he could retry without spending more points. It was such a small gesture but it completely blew me away that this worker was so caring. He was thankful that I wasn't mad about J changing how he played the game, even though it wasn't a huge deal at that moment. Keep hiring people who care and people who notice people who are special needs. I wish I got this mans name, because his compassion makes him deserve a raise! read more
