Celebrated my birthday here with friends and it was wonderful! They just transitioned into their fall menu that week so we were excited to try the new items. I chose the PB Martini for my drink and if you like peanut butter, it's definitely for you! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to start and the Onion Bisque and Cool Ranch Tater Tots were the stars of the show. For entrees, I ordered the Lobster Mac and also tried my boyfriend's Cider Monster Braised Beef Grill sandwich featuring Nine pin cider braised beef. Both were fantastic! The beef was so flavorful and the mac and cheese had tons of lobster meat in it. For dessert, I ordered the carrot cake and wasn't super impressed. I did try my friend's Peanut Butter Pie and wished I ordered that. It was awesome! Overall, a great experience. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great. Good food and service and prices are reasonable. Ordered the Jambalaya and it was very good. Pretzel bites are a must. Innovo needs to either have larger water glasses or leave the water pitcher on the table. Servers had to refill our tiny tumblers numerous times. This place is LOUD, similar to many places that used the trendy industrial interior design. Our party of five really disliked having to scan the Q code for a menu. We were given a tablet but we had to share it. The Q code menu requires everyone to pull out their phone, which leads to distractions. When it came time for dessert, none of us felt like digging out our phones again, so we skipped that. I would return, though. Food is solidly good and service is great. read more

The prices are amazing, we got a draft beer, two speciality cocktails, free bar mix, free homemade chocolate bark, specialty taco, happy hour hummus plate with fried bread dough, and a salad for about $60 including tip. The service at the bar is incredible and the people are very friendly. They ask about allergies before putting in any food order and confirm it if you order more food. 100% NO. DONT GO HERE. The hostess was SO rude we opted to leave. Absolutely no tact, no hospitality, and seemed confused about her role as a hostess. While this place has acceptable food, they definitely need to overhaul the front of house. With Wold Rd, Saratoga and ALL of Albany so close, SKIP this in Colonie and drive over to Wolf Rd, north or south a few more minutes, you'll be wonderfully taken care of by wonderful staff elsewhere. read more

I took six family members for Thanksgiving Dinner. The food was horrible. The turkey was way over cooked, The gravy tasted like it came out of a Heinz Jar. The pies were very bad!! my first time. beautiful decor but loud. noisy due to acoustics. ordered bucatini bolognese. its their homemade pasta which I was anxious to try- my favorite pasta shape. the sauce was terrific but every stand of pasta was Al dente plus- very chewy almost bordering on undercooked. I know my pasta and fresh bucatini. It was cooked enough!! I sent it back politely and soon the manager said it was freshly re prepared But that chef said the pasta was cooked correctly. We were excited about going because it's been over a year. We were 6 minutes late. The host made a "mom jab" to let us know we were definitely late. He said, "Did you get the late text. When guests are late it should text you". Nope, no text and we just apologized for being late. He kept coming to the table and telling us he couldn't win with us. It was really uncomfortable. The restaurant was busy for a Monday. It was my birthday. We went near the end of the night and many of the things were 86'd. I thought the small plates were delicious. The bao buns and the fish tacos are flavorful and delicious. I really wanted to try the hot dog and wished I hadn't. My entree was delicious. I had the smoked porchetta sandwich. It was delicious. Also had a cucumber mule and a cookie martini. The food was great. The waitress was really nice but seemed to only come to the table and ask how we were doing when our mouths were full. I am hating to write this review because I want to support restaurants now that they are allowed to serve again but this just has to be said. Big fail last night. I made a reservation for a special birthday dinner for my stepson who lives in Albany. I chose Innovo Kitchen because my husband and I have been here on several occasions and like the eclectic menu. We had a nice table on the patio. Good start. Went downhill from there. First, I ordered a Kir Royal. Apparently they ran out of crème de cassis. OK, put in some elderflower liquor instead. Fine. But the drink arrived warm and warm champagne sucks. I had to ask for ice. I ordered the Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata appetizer. There were no ... I repeat NO ... heirloom tomatoes on the plate. Just tasteless red tomatoes which could have come from the local supermarket. How do I know? I grow heirloom tomatoes. My stepson's girlfriend ordered the Kale Salad with chicken for her entree. Would you believe that there was not a single piece of kale in that dish? All arugula. No kale. She didn't eat it. When I made the reservation, I informed the person on the phone that we were celebrating my stepson's birthday. She offered to put a candle on any dessert we ordered. Great! Well, we ordered two slices of carrot cake and - you guessed it - no candle. Normally, I would have spoken up about these issues. However, we had not seen these people for months and I didn't want to put a negative spin on the evening. Now that I got those failures out of the way, let me mention that my soft shell crabs served over pasta were very good. On the small size (I can only compare them to the monster crabs that I was served at Village Pizzeria last week) but the presentation was nice and the dish, delicious. I am sorely disappointed in Innovo Kitchen. I know you can do better but I don't see any reason to return. We drove almost an hour to have dinner here and you failed us miserably. read more

Great Staff - they were friendly and attentive. I met a manager - very cool guy. I had the 5 Onion bisque soup with goat cheese; though a bit sweet for me - I still enjoyed quite a bit. We were a party of 5 with reservations for 7pm. The dinning area was full but we were seated right away at a nice table near the kitchen. It happened to be national margarita day (like I need an excuse for a margarita!) and pitchers of strawberry "flavored" were $15. Sadly, the margarita tasted like Hawaiian punch. Way too sweet and weak on the tequila. The tater top and pretzel appetizers were quite good and everyone generally liked the entrees. One of the burger was overcooked. I went to Innovo Kitchen with some colleagues for dinner. What a fantastic place with a fun atmosphere. We had a picky bunch and there was something on the menu for everyone. Beer, wine, and cocktails started us off. As a vegan, I pleasantly found a few options, but chose to go with the vegetable curry (apple Raita was on the side)- my was it tasty! They just updated their menu, and there are a lot of exciting options. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, and the manager popped over a few times. The complementary chocolate bark after our meal was delicious and a fun surprise. I would love to go back here, when in town! read more

Great food and loved everything about this place! I came here for late lunch the other day while I was in the area and I loved everything about this place. We called ahead as we were a large group. They had a table in the back ready when we arrived. I ordered lobster rolls for my lunch and oh boy, generous amount of lobster, it was very satisfying to eat that huge sandwich. I was with a group of locals and they all had Italian. One of them ordered carbonara and I got to taste a little bit. It was authentic true New York Italian and I highly recommend trying carbonara if you like Italian food. Service was excellent and I enjoyed chocolate they brought to the table after lunch. We are so impressed with everything. The kit is for 8 tacos with enough toppings for the chips. Each protein was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The steak was tender and medium, the lime chicken was nicely shredded and full of flavor. The fish was our favorite, and after a 20 minute drive was still perfectly crispy. The female server that we had was great, she had great knowledge on all of the gluten free options offered on the menu and even let me know that the cool ranch tater tots are not celiac-friendly since they are fried in the same fryer. She listed out from memory like 5-10 different items that could be made gluten free. She also had menu knowledge for my gluten eating boyfriend when deciding what he was going to eat. We got the cool ranch tater tots that my bf only ate and a small Caesar salad with no croutons, these were great. For our entrees, I ordered the orecchiette rosanna with gluten free pasta. When our entrees came out, I was halfway through my delicious meal when I found 2 wheat shells in my food. I was very disappointed as I couldn't eat the rest and now had to deal with me being sick for the next few days. My boyfriend finished the rest of my meal for lunch the following day. Overall, I love Innovo Kitchen, if you eat gluten, this place has A LOT to offer, but if you have allergies (dairy, gluten, etc) it is not worth the risk. Fish tacos $8 It had 2 fish tacos with salsa. The fish was fried very well, the sauce was a miss. The salsa kind of tastes bitter and too sour. I live on the west coast and eaten fish tacos multiple times. The salsa can be a lot better. I couldn't finish the tacos bc the bitterness of the sauce was too overwhelming. Innovo Kitchen is one of those places that is hip and wants us to know it. I came here a few weeks ago and the factory-like inside of the building with the exposed beams, naked light bulbs, open kitchen reminds me of a movie version of "cool restaurant for hip people." I was driving so I didn't try any libations, but next time I will because their cocktail list was intriguing. What I did have was a salmon burger and WOW. It was delicious. The patty was thick, not dry, and it was beautifully perched on a heavily-buttered brioche bun. My dining partner had a beef burger that was cooked nicely to order, had some kind of sweet maple bacon that looked enticing... maybe next time. The French fries were delightful too (served in one of those aluminum cups with the brown wax paper liners again... they're telling us they're "cool and hip"). Latham is kind of a far drive for me, but I would come back to innovo kitchen-- at least to try the drinks and have some fries. read more

Love this place!!! I have never had a bad meal here, every time it's dynamite and worth every penny! You walk in and are greeted by Christmas decorations that flourish the rooms and a host stand or room to scoot to the bar. Innovo is perfect for a date night as there's no music blaring in your ear. My party was able to book a resy right online which is always the best way to go! Arrived around 430pm for happy hour at the bar. Was pretty busy for happy hour as it's around the holidays, we found 4 sits together though. Only suggestion: the space is a little tight and could loose a stool or 2 around the bar to make the guests feel more comfortable and not on top of strangers. But Happy hour specials were nice, $5 draft beers, $5 wines and they offer small plates. The menu is on a QR code which makes it a little annoying to be frank, would be much better if they had printed out a menu or two and posted them on the little boards that the QR code's are on. Waiter was attentive. Nice thing about the bar is for us ladies they have little hangers under the chairs so you can put your purse or clutch in front of you! We got cocktails then went to check in at the host for dinner. Seated within seconds, waitress Amy was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and helpful. We have had dinner here 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years. Innovo never disappoints. We shared the Pork Buns and the Pretzel Buns with Pimento Cheese for appetizers. Our entrees were Mussels in Sofrito and a Caesar salad with Grilled Shrimp. They do not skimp on the portions and we were both stuffed. The menu, eclectic and inventive, changes frequently. Every time we have been there it was crowded, so reservations are suggested. The service is usually professional. The only issue some people may have is the noise level. I was visiting my daughter at Union College and we decided to try out Innovo because of their multiple vegetarian options. FIrst off, as soon as we sat down they gave us these grain crackers with what had to be like a channa masala. It was actually a really cool combination. We had the samosa tater tots which were really interesting. I even liked the tamarind based sauce it came with. It as almost like an indian pakora if you are familiar with that. Next we had the risotto and the BBQ Cauliflower sandwich. The sandwich had to be one of the BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!! The cauliflower was marinated in this bbq sauce and topped with a slaw and blue cheese covered with two butter toasted pieces of bread. I wish I could find words, but each bite was better than the next. The flavors just came alive in your mouth. We got the parmesan tater tots as a side, and they are the best tots ever. With a small touch of ranch.........absolutely fantastic. My daughter had the ricotta gnocchi was also fantastic. The blend of flavors with a tomato vodka sauce and these huge perfectly cooked gnocchi. She actually couldn't finish it because she ate half of my sandwich so we got to take it home. We also had the plate of 8 cookies........fair warning.....they are fresh baked and there is a fantastic assortment. SInce it was just the two of us we ended up sampling them. It took the pandemic to get us to try Innovo, for a special occasion takeout dinner, and the food was excellent. We tried the cavatelli, the veal meat loaf, and a couple of salads. The harvest salad was particularly nice, with a sharp dressing that was unusual for the setting. I can't say everything was transportatively unique, but Innovo seems to have stuck to the small-menu-do-everything-well approach and I can only applaud that. Covid compliance: very good, but this is a takeout only rating. They came to the car and were on time per the scheduled pickup time. read more

This was my first experience and met friends for outdoor dining. The heaters were plentiful and we did not have a reservation so we were told we would I have 90 minutes to dine. There was hand sanitizer on the table and staff are wearing mask. The menu was virtual. There are draft beers not seen on the menu. I had the 50/50 Burger which was amazing with so many flavors! My wife wanted to come here for a while, being as it is supposedly a trendy place with fresh ideas and house-made food, so on date night off we went. I was only willing to go if they had outdoor seating, and she made a reservation that specified this. We arrived at 6PM, and they appeared busy all night... though having reduced seating probably increased demand for the tables they did have. Pumps of hand sanitizer were at every table. They served two complimentary appetizers: one was crackers and a bean spread, and the other was puffy bread with butter. Both featured "everything" seasoning including dehydrated onion so I only pecked at them, but the bean spread was odd. Garlicky, with whole beans in places, I don't know if it was trying to be hummus or something else. It was tasty but unusual. The puffy bread was nice except for the onions which I had to scrape off, and the butter was unsalted. In fact, no salt shakers were on the table. You ate your food as the chef intended. My wife ordered a $12 Raspberry mule cocktail which was decent, and did taste like raspberry. I ordered the $18 "50/50 Burger" which was: cajun dusted angus brisket and slab bacon patty, american cheese, candied bacon, bread & butter pickle chips, habañero jam, and a smear of peanut butter. As hoity toity as you could think of, every item sounded good though I did ask for the pickles on the side. The burger game out and it was an experience. Perfectly seasoned, I was surprised to find that I could taste every last thing listed on the menu. The peanut butter especially left a decadent mouth feel, and the heat from the pepper jam was wonderful. My wife was hesitant about the peanut butter but I think she enjoyed it. No complaints, except by the second half of the burger it fell apart and I ate it as a "50/50 meatloaf." The homemade crinkle fries were twice as thick as bagged frozen fries but perfectly crispy. Yum! My wife ordered the $42 "Braised short ribs with peach glaze" which might have been a special item. They came with a garlic farro "risotto" (my choice of words) and sliced peas. The meat was topped with what looked like mango relish. The beef looked good, and it tasted good too, though with my eyes closed I would have sworn it was corned beef. I enjoy corned beef, but for $42 I can make a LOT of it at home. The farro was also good aside from the onions they snuck in. It was a nice dish, but at its price point I doubt she would order it again. I believe she expected something like barbecue ribs, and with more peach flavor then it had. For dessert we had a $8 slice of "lemon cheese curd pie" or something like that. It was a silky smooth soft cheesecake like texture with lemon curd drizzled over the top. We both enjoyed it. Our experience was pleasant. Food was served within 25 minutes of ordering it, though the dessert took longer than we expected. During the interim I fed a bird some of my french fry and enjoyed watching him take it back to his hideaway and pass it onto to a baby bird. You can't see that when you eat inside. Or hear it either, as the music was pretty loud inside as well. The server was extremely pleasant and in general it seemed like a well-run place. I don't like to dwell on prices but for my food (burger & dessert) it was well worth the money. For my wife's meal, I think we would both agree that it was either overpriced or underwhelming.
